Sunday lunch fabulous dog friendly and good people

Went for Sunday lunch, food was delicious. Service was good but not all meals were brought out at the same time.

Very good food excellent portions very friendly people it’s a place I would recommend for food.

Just had a fantastic experience at The White Harte since change of ownership. Staff were so welcoming and friendly and created a lovely atmosphere. Felt more like a restaurant than a pub. Such a choice on the menu, something for everyone. Will certainly be back to explore more dishes

Amazing food. Variety of Nepalese and British dishes with focus on some outstanding curries! Great service, lovely interior and easy parking. Quiet on a midweek lunch but worth booking for weekend visits.

The food and service were great. The host was amazing and handled our group of 22 people perfectly. They were also great at communicating with us.

Great food, beautiful curry's! Had a little mix up. In the kitchen so our food was a little while, but was such a lovely spot happy and such good food you will be happy to wait!

I came here midweek with my family and it was very busy. The food very tasty, good portion sizes. I had the panneer tikka masala which was far to sweet for my liking.

Really good service at the beginning of the meal, but we had to look for someone to order coffee and not asked if we wanted dessert.

Excellent food and great service. Atmosphere was OK but we were there for lunchtime on a Monday (while cycling)... so didn't really go into the pub.

Fresh food - literally tastes as if prepared to order. Very delicious but it does mean the wait time is quite long. Couldn't recommend it enough! Will definitely be back on our next trip!

You must visit. Think proper pub with excellent beer/lager choice but with fantastic himalayan food or pub classics. Visiting again if only for the Lamb chops!!

Rude staff oder female manager? Throughout night rude for no reason to our group .which was all behaved.our group spent some big money in restaurant and bar and food outside. Treated like thugs and hooligans at end of night .at 23.15 people got glasses snatched out of hand and told to go and threatening to lock cars in carpark so we left and got waved at from staff in a patronising way no need not a clue how to treat customers looks like another pub ruined

Never had the chance to stop for food. However the menus and the smell of what was coming out was totally delicious. Staff so warm and welcoming. Pub beautiful inside and out. I will deffinatly be returning to see what the menu, has to offer!

When here this afternoon for my sisters birthday the food is excellent and the staff are very friendly x will definitely come again

Drop in to grab lunch on a Friday with the sun shining. Attentive staff. 2 friends had curry and they were very pleased with what they had with in terms of quantity and quality. I chose the Cheese and bacon burger with Piri piri fries which was perfectly fine and good value.

We had a family meal, we were very pleasantly surprised. What looked like a typical English pub turned out to be a really wonderful fusion of both English and ghurka food. In a varied menu with something for everyone. Wonderful staff, good homely atmosphere.

Had the Himalayan menu, so so good! it's great because it has the Himalayan menu as well as the pub food menu, so there's something for everyone!

First time eating here ,the food the service was to die for.the place was very clean and warm. Def will be going back.

We celebrated my husband’s 70th birthday here and had an excellent evening. 24 people so the tables were rearranged so we could all sit together. As it was such a large group, we ordered everyone’s food in advance, to ensure everyone got what they wanted. This meant it all came out very efficiently. Everybody enjoyed their food and a number of the group who Hadn’t eaten there before said they will be returning. The currys were particularly good, with one of the party raving about the Gurkha Chicken. Nothing was too much trouble. The staff were so friendly and helpful. Can’t thank them enough for making the evening so special. We’re determined to return to try their Sunday Roasts next.

Since being taken over by the current management, the White Harte is a stunning place to visit. The Himalayan Curries are superb, and amazing value for money. Every member of staff is friendly, attentive, and nothing is too much trouble. If you haven't ever been...book now!

Planned a family get together, this was convenient for everyone distance wise. The menu looked great for mix of people and ages. Popped in for a sneaky taster which was fab a lamb masala and himilayan lamb chops. So booked for the 10 of us and came today. Wow, everyone said how good it was. Roasts, steak and currys all fab. Thanks to staff who served us today. We will be back for more next chance we get.

We visited the White Harte on a Saturday lunchtime and had a lovely meal. It is really unusual in that it is a pub that does authentic Himalayan food: Indian, indo-chinese and Nepalese. Our food was delicious and good value. It also does traditional pup fayre. The service was friendly and helpful. The only downside was that the pub garden was in front of the pub with no boundary between the garden and the fairly busy road.

Part of a 4 pub chain, 3 in Bristol & 1 in Swindon. They do English style food & Sunday Roast, although most of the menu is Himalayan Food. Plenty of parking although the spaces are very narrow so if someone parks next to you it makes it difficult to in & out your car. We went Saturday lunchtime & the car park was full & the pub was busy. I had a very nice curry. Good quality food. The food arrived in a reasonable time. All of the staff were friendly & helpful Price wise it is at the top end of what I would expect for a lunchtime pub meal. 2 Pints, 2 Meals & 2 Coffees £46. Nice meal out.

First time there ,but will not be our last,loved everything

First time here,I thought the Sunday roast was average I had a lot of fatty beef,service was good,so quite expensive in my view

The White Harte is excellent: food was superb and the team there were excellent. Highly recommend this place for a good night out.

My partner, his brother I came here after they played football. my partners brother had a burger and theirs was perfect really enjoyed it. My partner and a curry and he loved it. I had a burger, and I cut into it and found it was pink. I asked for it to be checked and replaced and they reassured me and gave me a fresh burger. The staff are lovely and the food is nice. Will come here again.

Nice pub and well laid out, quiet when I went on a Monday night but very friendly staff and good selection of drinks.

Lovely food but our evening was severely ruined by the staff. We were informed that we would have the table for two hours which was fine - you’d think 2 hours would be ample time for a meal?! Orders were taken 30 minutes after seating including mains. 70 minutes in and we are told that we need to hurry up by a member of staff as they needed the table at 8pm… we hadn’t even been given our main meals yet. A second member of staff then came over to confront our table about hurrying up to which we were very upset as it wasn’t our fault that the service was slow and the approach was incredibly rude. Meals were great but again, it took so long to clear the table that we weren’t offered dessert even though we had time. After rushing us to eat our mains they then didn’t take payment until after 8pm so it seems that we were rushed for absolutely no reason. Really disappointed as the food was really nice. Won’t be returning unless staff choose a better attitude. Arguing with your customers doesn’t sit well with wanting people to return - I think this should be taken into consideration in the future.

Really good quality food at this pub now. We’ve eaten here a few times and whether you’re ordering a steak, fish, other meats or their wide variety of curry dishes you will not be disappointed. Always busy so advise booking in advance.

Had a family meal booked here for 10 of us. Was waiting ages for food to come out and then when we were waiting at 19:10 the waitress come over to say we needed to be off this table by 8 when we were waiting for them to give us our main meal. I thought this was very rude, definitely wouldn’t return and wouldn’t recommend. It’s such a shame as couldn’t complain about the food.

Went here a couple of years ago and the food was so awful I asked for a refund and swore never to go back. Went again a couple of weeks ago because we were desperate to take mother somewhere that let dogs in and everywhere else was fully booked. Obviously under new management because the food was amazing! Loving the Hymalayan menu. I had paneer curry and it was to die for. My hubby had the traditional Sunday Roast but they spiced up the roast potatoes. Delicious. Glad everywhere was booked! Will definitely be going back. Staff were also lovely and very sweet to the dog 😊

Lovely food, excellent customer service

I've driven past this pub countless times, throughout my life. But for some reason, never been inside. Until last week! Off the back of reviews by friends, went to check it out, and couldn't of been more impressed. With the food and service. The staff were welcoming and friendly. Showed my wife and I promptly to our table. And served us promptly throughout, checking on us, for drinks top-ups and food satisfaction. We both opted to try one of the Himalayan curries, which were fantastic, and incredible value. I'll definitely be heading back to try more of the menu, and would definitely recommend.

Visited today for Sunday lunch,some of us had a roast, some had curry. I have to say, I wouldn't visit again for a roast, the veg was very bland, but the curries were amazing. Lots of choice. Service was slow but the staff were lovely. Will visit again for curry

Sunday roast are average..but the currys are great

I rocked up here with my friend for a bite to eat and a catch up. We were greeted on arrival and shown to a table. Lots on the menu all reasonably priced, I opted for the grilled chicken salad. It tasted fantastic and I recommend if your after a something filling but not leaving you bloated. Will definitely be back soon. Thanks for a great experience 😊

Booked by friends well in advance but they had a call from the pub to move our booking back by half an hour , which we reluntanctly agreed to. Ordered a main course which , before we'd finished were informed for the first time that they needed the table back for another party in 20 mins. Would at least thought we'd have been given the time to order a desert had we wanted. Would never have bothered had we been told we were going to be rushed. Home by just after 8pm. Total waste of an evening. Could have gone elsewhere had we been told. Won't be visiting again.

A lovely meal with the family. A good varied selection of cuisine, from Indian curry to Italian pizza. Not too expensive.

went there for my sons 21st birthday meal ,we all had food off the Himalayan menu ,and it was lovely, curry's were delicious and the starters also .staff were very welcoming .will defiantly be returning in the not to distant future .

My wife and I had a very enjoyable Sunday evening meal. I chose the delux roast. My wife had the spiced lamb chops. The meat was cooked beautifully. The belly pork perfectly seasoned. The lamb was delicately spiced. Portions were generous but not excessive. Clearly the White Heart excels on cuisine celebrating the proprietors heritage. I’d recommend a visit to the white hart anytime. Great value

We have visited the White Harte twice now, for lunch and for dinner. Service has been good, friendly/ attentive staff, the food is delicious and good value. Would definitely recommend and looking forward to visiting again soon.

Himalayan Lamb Rogan with a little extra Nepalis spice, peshwari naan, crispy bhaji with a sweet chilli dip, Wow! This may seem like an unusual combination of flavours but resulted in an really enjoyable party of flavours for your taste buds. Now under new management and with friendly and attentive staff, definitely recommend dropping in and tasting this new menu.

Celebrating grandsons birthday so very mixed requirements plus gluten intolerance etc with baby teenagers and adults. Good menu himalayan origin so curry's and piri piri fries but basically something for all in our birthday party very enjoyable with coffee and desserts.

Really confused by the Himalayan food. For us it was the same as any other Indian curry house. We reserved a table (booth if possible) by email and this was confirmed. Upon arrival there was no reservation under our name. We were put on a table on the end right in the path of the kitchen entrance. Food was good but no better or different than our local curry house and this pub doesn't offer any hot currys. We travelled a fair distance for this pub based on recommendation and reviews but regrettably we personally wouldn't say it's worth it.

Very nice pub giving high quality Nepalese curry and simple pub food with good beers. The staff are very friendly. It's family-friendly - we went with our two small children They also have a tremendous selection of cognacs, including a Hennessy XO - very rare to find a pub with such good brandy!

Food was great, Gurkha fish curry was very good as was the butters nan. Sunday evening lacked atmosphere but that can be expected after a busy weekend. The team were very welcoming. We will be back to sample more.

A great meal this evening; couldn't praise the chef enough! Fish pakora was cooked just right, Himalayan lambchops were extremely tender and the vegetable biriyani was also good. We enjoyed our beers too. Serving staff were also attentive. Well done. We will be back!

After hearing amazing things about the new ownership and food. We ordered a take away for my partners birthday. Neither of us ate our dishes (tikka and korma) with a couple of starters. The bread was tough, the rice over spiced and the curry itself was so bland. Then some form of plastic/hair was in the jalapeño starter. Extremely disappointed when we were really excited to try something new.

Excellent for curry dishes but chicken salad was mostly lettuce although fish and chips was apparently very good. Service very attentive and friendly

Going here twice in one week says it all Went there for lunch, it was a great experience i went for dinner also the same week. Great food. Staff is brilliant, the land lady is all over the pub making sure everyone is happy. Even on Wednesday this place attracts punter's. The Himalayan food is good, I am not normally a fan of this kind of food other than home cooking but for me and my family its highly recommended as we don't eat in pubs much, but we are returning. Price is also reasonable great great experience.

Tried this pub randomly today and both of us were impressed. Called in for lunch. A glass of wine with a club sandwich and paprika fries. The glass was pre-chilled. Both house wines were delicious. The food was equally delicious. Service was professional and personal. Thank you.

Sat at our table, quick service by the young dark hair lad behind bar with our drinks. Not sure if owners young daughter who took our food order, but she behaved as though everything was too much of an effort and she didn't want to be there, which was annoying, thats the reason for 3 stars on service. Mains was absolutely delicious, disappointed that she didn't offer us a dessert menu, we decided not to bother to ask. Left a bit disappointed which is a shame. Place looks really nice inside. Plenty of tables outside as well and parking at front and back.
