The White Hart in Castle Point

Mixed reviews from other ur group. Nice staff but food was not great-some meals were extremely overcooked and dried up. We would return for a drink but not for food.

If this is typical Ember Inn I will try to avoid in the future. The food looked and tasted like it had been cooked hours before and kept luke warm, the only hot content was the beef gravy for a chicken meal. The serving staff can only be described as scruffy as was the furniture.

Friendly service and fast too. Food good.

Absolutely amazing pub super friendly staff and welcome kids and dogs too! Yesterday we went to the Easter egg event that was on and it was absolutely brilliant all the stops were pulled out to make sure all the kids had them best time ever 🙌 thanks again for another great day xx

Two bar staff are excellent but why would management not have extra staff on the Thursday before Easter weekend. Running out of glasses and people getting the hump. The two bar staff couldn’t do anymore, should have been a bumper night for a business, poor planning by management!

We had another excellent lunch - we shared starters and a bottle of Rioja! Lovely, plus the staff are great!

What on earth is the karaoke and dj night all about... Staff not to attentive, more interested in chatting to each other. Food wasn't great either... Very disappointing. I used to go there years ago, its nothing like it was..

I went here by chance with a friend and our 2 fur babies. The service and food was excellent. Our fur babies were given plenty of water and endless treats. Thanks guys it meant a lot that my boy was made so very welcome, we will be back x

I had a lovely meal at the white Hart pub in Thundersley on Tuesday 20th of February 2024 The service and the food were amazing. My Granddaughter who is 9 was allowed to have an Adult meal as it was just the two of us which made her very happy 😊 She had the Hunters Chicken and I had the southern fried Chicken burger. Grace also had ice cream for dessert The food was faultless and the service from Dawn and Lisa was above and beyond to make Grace feel special Thank you all

We booked a table for six on a Wednesday lunchtime. The place was quite cramped and full, not something that we expected for a Wednesday. No spaces left in the car park and surrounding road. Managed to find one about 5 minutes away. The food was average. Two of our guests ordered Ciabatta rolls but were just baguettes and underwhelming. We ordered tea and coffee and they were given to a different table, so after 10 minutes we had to ask for them and they said that we had already received them, then they realised their mistake. So we had to wait for them to make them again. I don't know why the place was so full as it is not somewhere that I would go out of my way to visit again. We only went there because it looked nice from the outside.

Our previous visits to the White Hart have been good, sadly the last visit was very disappointing. The pub/restaurant was packed to capacity. There were no places in the car park, people were blocking the entrance standing smoking, and the bar was stacked with people waiting. There appeared to be just one person serving, and she seamed most unhappy. Some items on the menu were not available and the food that came was not what we have come to expect at the White Hart. Spicy chicken was advertised on ciabatta but when it arrived it was on toasted French bread. The only meal on our table of six that was satisfactory was the burger. Finally our tea and coffee order was deliver to the wrong table. I’m not sure we will return to the White Hart.

We waited nearly 40 minutes for our food and when it arrived it was only warm. We all agreed we like our food hot. We were not asked if everything was ok with our meal until the end when the plates were cleared. Very disappointed as we have previously enjoyed good meals.

Service was shocking, waitress was quite rude didn’t make us feel welcome, didn’t inform us how to order just left us waiting there for 30 mins until I asked how we order. Gave us our food and didn’t inform us the plates were hot so my nan burnt her hand. Just such a let down, food was very average. Won’t be going back.

Lovely Sunday roast at the white hart with my wife and son, was busy so ordered on the app, drinks came quick, shortly afterwards our meals arrived, barmaid came to ask if everything was ok with our meals, desserts was brought promptly.

Starters were little cold however food did taste nice and service was good. Would like to see more on the menu though.

I sometimes bring my grandson in after school for a nice dinner. The have a good kids menu with lots of options. I love the fish cakes. can highly recommend

1- couldn't use gift card on the app, had to go to the till and do it all again 2- bar staff got the order wrong, very disappointed wife who received the vegan burger rather than the veggie burger, this meant she missed out on chips and got a salad instead whch she hates, I only got a single rather than a double burger 3- food took ages to arrive 4- ordered garlic bread to come with the meal but this was brought out 15 mins before the main - had to stop off at McDonalds on the way home. First and only time we will be coming to this place Food expensive, over 10 quid for a small burger with a small salad?

We booked an area in the White Hart for Surprise Birthday Drinks and a Buffet for my stepsons 21st Birthday The food was lovely and everyone had the best time The staff on the Bar were really good and a big thank you to Alex and Connor for putting up with us. Highly recommend

Christmas Day lunch - Lovely atmosphere. Food was lovely. Meat was really tender and very generous portions. Even though there was a sitting after us we weren't rushed and had plenty of time to enjoy the meal. Will definitely book again.

Have many meals here and love it

The pub was really busy and extremely noisy with a couple of very large groups in. You had to shout to be heard. When we arrived, we were not guided to a table - it is more of a find where you are sitting kind of arrangement as we were told to go to the back of the pub and look for our name on a table. We were squashed in right next to the kitchen door and the toilets. We ordered using the app and had to wait 30 minutes for our drinks and 50 minutes for our starters to arrive. We felt very rushed as no sooner as we put our knives and forks down, the main course arrived. The starters were ok but if presented a little roughly. One of my breaded mushrooms was in the mayonnaise pot when it arrived at the table. The main meal was overcooked or had been sitting under a heat lamp for a while. My medium rare steak was dry and well done and I only ate half of my meal. As we were eating our main course the karaoke was setting up just behind us so as soon as we had finished eating, we left. This is a nice pub but it clearly could not cope with the volume of people. On the website it gives the impression this is a restaurant / pub but the experience we had was it was definitely a pub with a restaurant as an "extra". This was meant to be a special & rare "date night" treat but we did not really enjoy it at all.

Lovely food. The vegan skewers are amazing. Great staff and atmosphere for a meal or drinks. I've been to a few party's there and the entertainment nights and always a good night out.

Wow we had the festive menu on my Birthday November 28th. The Turkey Dinner was so lovely I'd highly recommend it. They were short staffed but couldn't fault the service at all Mel and jack the chef did incredible We also stayed for Drinks and the service was fantastic Alex and Trudy Thank you the White Hart for helping to make my Birthday so enjoyable.

Went to the White Hart on Sunday and it was amazing! The new roasts are sublime with the beef rib being the favourite of the group! Will be coming back next Sunday!!

Me my partner and my kids went for some Sunday lunch and food was spot on and the staff were all very friendly, the manager Melanie was so welcoming we will definitely be back soon.

Honestly this was the worst meal I’ve ever eaten or served, I had the sea bass, it was served skin side up which was unusual. However that not the issue it came with 3 asparagus tips and 3/4 of a plate of bland new potatoes. The cod and chips( hard cod) the bun on the burger was stale and the curry thick and hardly any flavour . I’ve eaten here many times before and always had good food. Not once did anyone ask us about the food, ok we’re in a pub maybe it’s to the norm to ask. We ordered more drinks when the food was finished and no one cleared the plates away. This was quite honestly my most disappointing meal out ever.

Waited 50 mins for our dinner we only ordered one course and there was a total of four individuals in the dining area waiting for food. all self service even cutlery and serviettes. Sunday roast came up with different potatoes some boiled some Aunt Bessie roasts, meat was Bernard Mathews reformed turkey, no pigs in blankets, gravy was like water. veg was not as on menu all in all an iceland microwave meal, terrible. Staff were not attentive couldnt give a damn Would not recommend or revisit

I held a wake here on Friday for my late husband. The buffet was very nice and good value for money. The staff were friendly and very accommodating. I would definitely recommend this place.

Great staff Good food Beer is good Will definitely go back, had a great dinner . We had the Chicken Tikka meal, not to hot in taste, chicken was tender, perfectly cooked , mum and dad had the mixes grill. Plenty of quality food, steak cooked perfectly. Can't wait to go back

We were a family of 4 and we decided to eat. The food was very nice the only thing I'd say is the Nachos are a bit dry. That is down to the brand not the pubs fault. We enjoyed a good 4 hours there and definitely recommend
