Really great service from start to finish. Friendly staff and delicious food. Even my fussy eater commented on how good her food was. Very highly recommended.

Having looked at the website before booking we were looking forward to having some lovely food. In reality we got very plain boring tasteless food. The chief must have been off.

This the email i sent the day after our visit: My wife and I booked to take advantage of your offer on steaks which we had done once before in January. The evening didn't start to well when our waiter just asked us if we wanted steaks without offering us a menu although he did tell us what was available, i would have preferred to peruse the menu so we could see our options, I decided I wanted a starter but had to get a menu and then return to the bar to order, this was after our steaks had been ordered. The starter, mushroom soup was delicious. Unfortunately, that's where the good part ends. We both ordered rump steak, medium rare. My wife's on first cut revealed it was bluer than expected so was sent back to be well done because of it being so undercooked. My steak was appalling, the first cut revealed many strands of gristle and fat. In a previous life I was an apprentice butcher so I know a little about steak cuts so I do not appreciate being told that 'that's what rump is, there is always gristle and fat, a lot of our customers enjoy it'. well, I didn't!. My wife's steak returned cooked as requested so no issue there, however it was also very fat and contained a lot of gristle, in the end we asked for a takeaway foil dish so we could take the ever-increasing parts we couldn't eat home for the dog. Incidentally my wife weighed the amount when we got home and it amounted to 7 ounces of inedible meat. Quite honestly, I do not think I have had a worse steak in my life and I am 67 years old! Needless to say we will not be returning as paying over £38 for the privilege of chewing gristle in not my idea of a good evening out. The chap who took our payment did apologise; he was very polite but ultimately the meal was a disaster. Best regards Since that evening they have been in contact to offer us free steaks to apologise, however,we do not want to return so we suggested a refund on our meal but this has not been forthcoming. We were warmly welcomed by the friendly staff at The White Hart. My wife, 13 month year-old and I had a great meal. both meals were an excellent size portion. I enjoyed the gammon egg and chips. An excellent pub with a very welcome calm atmosphere

Have been here twice now for a carvery and must say it is really nice. Great choice and nicely cooked. Staff are all friendly and polite. Nice quiet location wuth plenty of parking. Normal menu looks nice which we are going to try as intrgued by one of the dishes. Great country pub.

What an amazing country pub. The bar manager gave us such a friendly welcome and had plenty of time to speak to us. Food was exceptional whilst sat by a log burner on a cold winters nights. Perfect!

What can I say... We visited 'on spec' as our pre-booked pub let us down at last minute. We entered the pub with a very welcoming warm fire on a cold winter Friday night at around 6pm. Greeted warmly by the barman, Dan, who seated us next to the fire, even though we haven't booked. Going through the menu, we agreed there were stacks of sumptious options. Lucy went for the lamb shank, I went for the steak and red wine pie. Both were plentiful in portion size, and both were absolutely delicious. Fantastic in fact. Great ales on tap to accompany, along with consistently great service. This place is an absolute gem. 11/10!!

Booked for a large family gathering for a post wedding Sunday carvery. Both a carvery and a small number of other menu items were available which was great for those who didn't want a roast. The carvery was lovely with a great choice of 4 meats and a good range of vegetables and plenty of side. Great outdoor space with plenty of seating.

Went here a few weeks ago and decided to comeback with the whole family for a birthday celebration and it didn't disappoint! The food is excellent and would recommend to anyone local or visiting the area. Great value steak night on Thursday!!!

A last moment get together with old friends took us to the White Hart at Wrington. Meals were pre-ordered as it was a large group of ten. Everyone enjoyed the mains and desert. The sirloin steak was very good quality and cooked to perfection. The staff were really friendly and accommodated our aged whims. We will return soon!

Staff were very friendly and professional - unfortunately the food didn't live up to the descriptions on the menu, with their "famous" pizza consisting of cheap toppings and far too much cheese attempting to mask the frozen base, or their "homemade" desserts straight out of a packet.

We recently celebrated our 25th Wedding Anniversary here, the conservatory seating area is perfect for a family celebration. The food is absolutely amazing and the staff are brilliant. So organised. Our celebration went perfectly. Looking forward to booking christmas.

We arrived after a very long and difficult day, earlier than booked as our cottage was not ready. What a lovely warm welcome we received, and again when we returned 2 days later. Been here twice this year as a half way meeting place. First time in April with outdoor dining only, very impressed with little tents each seating 6 people. Very friendly welcoming service. Went back in October to eat indoors, still same people, friendly, chatty and helpful. Food very nice, good quality pub grub, not pretentious but tasty and well presented. Good value for money. Will be making this a regular meeting place. Is only 5-6 miles from the M5, easy to find and plenty of parking available.

We visited the White Hart for Sunday lunch today with our family, starters were OK however, 4 of us went for the beef which was as tough as old leather. I mentioned this to the Landlord when paying the bill, he didn't seem too concerned saying he would tell his supplier, I expected a bit more courtesy to a customer paying over £130.Needless to say, next time we are over we won't be eating in this establishment again, hope his supplier finds decent beef and it's hung properly prior to being served.

A group of us stopped here for lunch on the way to our holiday destination. They were even open for food on a Monday, a great boon. We all had a good meal, nachos were exceptionally good.

Popped in for a lunch to catch up with friends easy to locate. A very good selection of food I ordered their chicken pie which was delicious and very tasty. The lady who served us was great bubbly and very welcoming. Will come back again to try out more food especially desserts.

The thought of a car very often makes me shudder! Memories of thinking I’d stepped onto the set of Cocoon or Last of the Summer Wine, where they serve vegetables you can suck through your teeth! We’re middle aged, and all greying and heading this way, and we’re visited by our friends from overseas, so this was our expectation! I have now had my eyes turned towards the modern carvery, or as it appears to be food jenga for some people who have turned this form of dining into an art form!So to the real review. It’s a lovely pub, and the staff were outstanding. Nothing was too much trouble at all. They had a great selection of real ales and the staff were very attentive with regards to your reordering of drinks. We all had starters which were really tasty and well presented in slate boards. I had chilli prawns and they were lovely. Hot and cooked perfectly, not rubbery at all.So to the main even. We waited for the queues to die down a bit. I can see there must have been regulars who return and there was a mix of all ages. There was a great selection of meats and vegetables, and they were being frequently replenished. Everything was piping hot too. I went for beef and lamb as my meats. As a mere novice I forgot to stack a Yorkshire pudding on top of mine! The cauliflower cheese was brilliant and I loved how the broccoli had some bite and the carrots had been roasted with a bit of crunch. Also served with a deliciously rich gravy.So now I’ve got over my fear/snobbism of carverys, I can honestly say it was absolutely spot on. The benefits are you’re not waiting for ages for your food, and you can choose more or less of what you like. I’d definitely recommend this Pub as it was friendly and the food and service were excellent. So thanks to the White Hart, the chefs and lovely staff. Really well done and you deserve your success. Just returned with my friend from a lovely lunchtime carvery roast. All the meat, vegetables, roast potatoes and gravy were packed full of homemade flavours. All the staff were smiley, happy and polite. The young waitress couldn't do enough for us. Thank you all for making our experience so great, and for the lovely food. The cauliflower cheese was to die for, we will definately return. We visited at 12.30 then sat in the garden finishing our drinks.just chilling.

Love this place and we have been regulars for a few years now however this review is for the member of staff (penny) who is so rude and grumpy every time we visit it puts us off visiting. We are friendly and the family who run it are amazing so it’s very surprising they have employed some one who is so unfriendly, blunt and rude! Smile wouldn’t go a miss!!

Just been to the wonderful White Hart. Steak night. Oh my goodness, the steaks were cooked to perfection. All the sides were delicious, including the peppercorn sauce. Suzanne and Mike are the two best chefs around for miles. The bar staff, Hayley and Penny were so bubbly and friendly. Every staff member was very welcoming. We had a lovely check back from Josh who was also very nice. The atmosphere was lovely and friendly and I will most definitely be coming back. Everyone should come try the white Hart. It is amazing

We needed somewhere for a last minute Sunday lunch nearby Wrington. This place was great- it had outdoor covered tables with gazebos over each one, and also heaters above. There was a rain shower while we were there and it didn’t affect us at all. For kids there was a small play area outside, a kids menu, plus the option of a small carvery otherwise. Also strawberry slushes went down very well!!!There’s a large car park which was handy. Overall staff were friendly and the carvery was great, so we would definitely recommend trying this place. We will go back again next time in the area.

After all the problems with Covid-19 celebrating with a meal out it was great to be able to go for a meal again to celebrate Pam’s birthday. As on numerous occasions before, we chose the White Hart and we were not disappointed. A superb meal, cooked just how we liked it in pleasant surroundings and helpful, attentive staff. Don’t just think about booking - DO IT!

My family booked the White Hart as a venue for our mother's 90th birthday party and it was a perfect choice. Suzanne, Lee and their excellent team provided us with a wonderful party, and Suzanne's attention to detail meant my sister, brothers and myself were able to spend our time with our mother and her guests. The buffet-style food was delicious and served efficiently so that everyone received a piping hot meal. Even a last-minute request for a dairy-free meal didn't faze the staff and it was provided quickly. The marquee looked beautiful when we arrived and there was a sound system set up ready for our Spotify playlist. We really appreciated the large outdoor space with plenty of room for the great-grandchildren to run around and providing a lovely backdrop for photographs.Thank you Suzanne and Lee, we couldn't have found a better place for our party.

Visited on a Saturday lunchtime on a very hot day. Staff were very warm, inviting and friendly especially our waitress Penny. We sat outside under one of many individual gazebos- I noticed it had a heater for cooler evenings. We were given a remote device to call if we required anything - excellent service. Enjoyed the local lager “Forum” - ordered panini and chips - very tasty. Would highly recommend and will definitely return. Thank you the White Hart for a lovely afternoon

Went on a Thursday evening for the first time out since August. Wonderful warm welcome by the hosts and very safe environment. Usual pub fare but portions are generous and the food excellent. The steak was cooked to perfection and the chips were delicious. Excellent Badger beer on tap too.Very good value and throughout the staff were friendly, courteous and helpful. Highly recommended.

The White Hart hosted our wedding this weekend in their amazing marquee and it couldn't have been more perfect! Lee, Suzie, Chloe and the team are amazing and couldn't do enough for us. Lovely meal and lovely friendly staff! Proper quality ingredients makes for lovely tasty food. The Chicken burger was proper butterflied chicken in a beautiful seeded bun, served with salad and some of the best chips I’ve had. The chicken breast with mushroom and white wine sauce was also excellent.On arrival we were greeted with the most friendly of welcomes by Chloe, who showed us to our table and made sure everything was ok, she made the whole experience better, with her friendliness and attention.We will definitely be going again and should also mention the other staff who were also friendly and helpful. Special mention to Susan, just so she can steal a little of Chloe’s thunder.Great food great staff!

We moved to Congresbury during the pandemic and never got the chance for a welcome drink at any of our new "locals"......The White Hart was an absolute godsend though, they did food delivery! The food was wholesome good honest delicious grub, fabulous portions and arrived red hot to out door....Now lockdown is easing we have finally had a chance to visit and the real life pub experience is just as amazing, the at table ordering is working a treat with drinks brought to the table in under 2 minutes from the awesome hosts....I cannot recommend the pub any higher, its not our nearest pub but they have definitely ticked all the boxes that anyone could ask from a local.... And as a bonus they serve Badger Ale's, a novelty for North Somerset but a great pint.

Really warm greeting! Not allowed indoors just yet but the marquee had a heater in so we were nice and toasty!! I had the fish and chips which was massive and delicious and Nat had the lasagne which was epic!!!!!!!! We will definitely be back.

Fabulous meal last night at the White Hart. Very generous portion size, and served lovely & hot despite sitting outside. We were in the ‘Jamaica’ pod, one of several themed mini gazebos in the garden, which was lovely & warm due to the overhead heater, and all the twinkly lights and background music added to the almost magical experience . We were so well looked after by a very friendly lady named Penny, from greeting us on arrival, taking our order and periodically checking if everything was ok for us throughout the meal. Equally attentive and helpful was the other young lady serving us (sorry didn’t get her name) - overall a great dining experience and highly recommended. Oh, must just say, the pan-fried chicken was de-lic-ious, the sauce to die for!! We will definitely be visiting again .

Went for drinks for the first time in a long time. Good to have the heaters and ordering through the app was easy. Didn’t have food but have done in the past and it was very good.

Came for lunch on a rainy day. Covid measures in place, well explained and easy to follow. Table was under a gazebo with its own heater!! Amazing!! There’s an app which, once you’ve used the first time is very simple. Staff were very friendly and efficient. We had a sirloin (cooked to perfection for my very fussy friend) and the pan fried chicken which was to die for!! Well done to the White Hart team. We will be back

We visited the White Hart a couple weeks ago and were pleasantly surprised by the amazing outdoor seating area. We were kept warm by the outdoor heating, and ordering online made everything really easy.All the staff were really friendly, especially Penny, who made sure we were well looked after, even though fire ball wasn’t on the menu (yet) ;) Service was really quick! Our drinks and food came out at super speed, and everyone was catered for- even the veggies and vegans! We had never been to the White Hart before, but will definitely be visiting again soon!

We ordered a carvery from The White Hart today as I just couldn’t be bothered to cook!! Our food was delivered at the arranged time by a lovely friendly chap and it was piping hot!! Generous portions, a lovely selection of deliciously seasoned veg (the swede and cauliflower cheese was to die for) and lovely tender meat served with roasties, Yorkshire puds and stuffing. Had a Sunday lunch takeaway (due to C-19). Lunch was excellent, piping hot, you could choose 2 meats, plenty of freshly cooked veg, potatoes, Yorkshire pudding. The gravy was great and the service very welcoming. First time we’ve done this, but won’t be the last. Thanks very much

I come here most Thursday for their amazing steak night and it never disappoints! It has the best food and fabulous staff.I walked into the pub and immediately felt like part of the pub family. Table booked for 2pm Sunday 1st Nov 2020.Arrived and seated, locals bar busy with drinkers but not busy with food service.Took 35mins for them to take out food order. Finally arrived at 2.50pm.Orders were wrong and missing some of the items, eg the vegetarian option of "nut roast and vegetarian sausages" came without sausages. One meal stated "without gravy" but came covered in it. Meals were missing cauliflower cheese and red cabbage. One meal even came with the string still wrapped around the pork.Incompetent staff and worse food...so lucky I don't live anywhere near it and don't have to visit again!

To say the Vegan Cottage Pie with veg and gravy was superb is an understatement, it was the best I have ever had! Thank you to our wonderful local family pub, The White Hart, for yet again another delicious lunch today. You are simply the best!!!

We visited here because Sea Bass was on the menu and it’s only 30 minutes away. It was amazing from the start! Our waitress welcomed us and took us to a table for 2. Seating was really comfy. We did order Sea Bass with Mediterranean vegetables and it was SUPERB. The best sea bass we’ve had. We had a sweet and a coffee and it was all excellent. Our waitress was lovely throughout - very friendly and helpful. We will certainly return and we’ll tell our friends how good it all was. We’re so glad we came here. We thoroughly recommend The White Hart.

Went last night not really knowing what to expect. It was blinking lovely, BEST steak Dinner I have had for ages. Steak lovely cooked to perfection, chips were lovely, proper home cooked. The pub was really clean, toilets lovely and clean.Cant fault the place .

Visited this lovely place with a close friend. We went on a Wednesday for the half price carvery. We sat outside under a gazebo and were served our food by a really friendly young waitress. Everything was Covid friendly and the food was plated in their kitchen after asking what we wanted. There was a choice of beef and turkey, we had both, all food was fresh and tasty and plenty of it. The entire place is family run and it shows with their smiley friendly attitude to all customers.

In the current lockdown this pub has gone above and beyond delivering food to the community and still the food is first class. Well done and thank you.

Called for the Wednesday carvery. Warm welcome from staff. Food choice and quality were excellent. Sweets were very tasty. Very good value. Would use this establishment regularly if living local. Highly recommended.

Tucked away down a country lane, but nonetheless only a couple of minutes’ drive from the main A370, this looks surprisingly contemporary from the outside with large italicised writing on the wall conveying the pub's name and plenty of attractive lighting. Internally though it’s mostly much more traditional apart from the conservatory extension at the rear.The menu offered a good choice of “pub grub” dishes with options such as scampi & chips, ham & eggs, beef burger, lasagne etc., and these were mostly priced around the £13 mark. In addition to this there was a specials board and I went for the luxury fish pie from here which was around the same price. Waiting time was a little long perhaps, but not unreasonably so. It was quite an enormous portion, really much too big, and as much as I hate wasting food I was unable to finish it. I would have much preferred a smaller size and a lower price. Other than that though, it was actually pretty good with a decent cheesy topping and plenty of fish. The accompanying garlic bread was an odd choice perhaps, bread and potatoes aren’t the most obvious combination and I would probably have preferred some veg. The garlic bread was ok, but a little on the dry side I thought and without a particularly garlicky taste. I would have preferred it softer and swimming in butter. Obviously we had no room for pudding, although the available selection was displayed on a board above the fireplace. These seemed a little one dimensional, with almost half of them featuring chocolate, and with the remainder including a vegan carrot and ginger cake, ice cream and a sorbet there may not be something for everyone. Overall, despite a couple of niggles and the ridiculous portion size, I quite enjoyed it here with it’s cosy ambience and friendly landlord and would happily return to try something else.

A very nice looking pub down a narrowish Road. Plenty of parking. A good selection on the menu with a specials board. All st a reasonable price. Unfortunately my friend chose Gammon but because of a late delivery it was unavailable. She then chose jacket potato with prawns which she said was delicious. My other friend and I had cottage pie. It came with carrots and beans and bread. I felt it did not need the carrots as there was already some in the pie. The service was very pleasant and attentive. Coffee very nice.

I very rarely write a review, but on this occasion I felt I had to. We walked in to find all the tables beautifully decorated. The menu was superb, and the taste was gorgeous.The customer Service was top class, The whole experience was warm & welcoming. Would definitely recommend

Have been for drinks at the beautiful White Heart many times, but never actually eaten a meal there. Decided to book a table for the three of us, spur of the moment. Apart from receiving a very warm welcome, the menu offered an excellent and varied choice to cater to all our tastes. The food came quickly, which usually alarms me as it suggests processed/pre prepared food. Not the case, fresh local produce made to order. Simply superb, highly recommended. Go on, treat yourself!
