This venue was recommended for post funeral re-freshment. Many folks travelled over 100 miles to attend my late Mothers funeral. Unfortunately extreme disappointment Food just placed on table - no introduction or welcome from staff. Part of buffet menu didn’t arrive at all Quality of food appalling.. everything beige., not even a bit of cress to dress plate Fish & cheese served on same platter Gluten free option .. looked like sandwiches in a builders lunch box Pastries looked like Costco’s rejects Crudités.. soggy old pepper around a nondescript dip? Flavour??? Shift management disinterested “ we are busy” then you shouldn’t take on more bookings!! Charged £12 per head .. could have had double the amount and quality if they had just popped to Sainsbury’s and bought some Lunch Meal deals So message is ..if it’s an important event for people you care about avoid the Nut Tree in Worle.

Attended a so-called buffet following my mother-in-laws funeral. Absolutely dreadful! Terrible food, presented badly by disinterested surly staff. I could not possibly recommend this establishment- best avoided. Overcharging for drinks. Bad attitude of bar staff in a dull and boring environment. Do yourself a favour and drive past!

Went here for a ladies lunch for Christmas. I had the double burger, thinking it would be cooked fresh. I was so wrong, the burgers were dry and charred,I think they had been cooked before. I paid £17.95 for these charred offerings, won’t be eating there again. Please get your act together as we don’t want to spend our hard earned money on this rubbish.😡😡😡😡

We came here on the recommendation of our host, one of the locals, who had suggestions of dog-friendly places in the area for dinner. It was so very good that we came here twice in a week! In our first visit, it was easy for us to reserve a table in the bar area via the phone. When we arrived, we were seated in a good corner with our 2 dogs. It was very spacious, and it did not feel like we were being squashed into a corner. The patrons were lovely and friendly to our dogs too. The staff were lovely with our dogs and provided water for them right at the start. Service was quick for our drinks, which came almost instantly after we had ordered. For starters, we had ordered the 3 plates for £15 – chicken gyoza, duck rolls and antipasti, which was delicious. For mains, I had the prawn and chicken chorizo linguini, while my husband had the chicken burger, both of which were sumptuous and filling! It was so good that we returned here a few nights later – we had 3 plates again for starters to share between 2 of us – this time, crispy chilli chicken, duck rolls and antipasti. Just as good, not too oily or full of batter, enough sauce. For the mains, I had 2 starters instead as a main, which was the fishcakes and satay chicken, while my husband had the beef burger. All 3 dishes were fantastic, tasty, filling, and oh-so-good! I even asked for a plate of chopped chillies, and they provided it nice and fresh! One thing would have been nice would be a section on salads. We ordered the seasonal veg as an alternative instead, as we felt that there was not much veg in all the dishes we ordered! The seasonal veg adequate – boiled/steamed beans, broccoli, carrots and parsnips – probably leave off the parsnips next time! We felt that it would be good to have a salad or something leafy on the menu, for customers who may want something lighter! All in all, it was a great experience for us twice, and we would happily come back here again the next time we are in the area.

Disappointing. The place is pretty dark with mud brown and dark green walls. Staff were polite, but the food was mixed. Fish and chips great, lasagne was dry and tasteless. Faggots were solid and tasteless and a side of chunky fries were £4.50 for a small cup. The burger was pretty non-descript so all in all a really disappointing meal.

Great experience. Fabulous service and great food. I think the nut tree is really good value for money, it’s a definite cut above the chain restaurants nearby and it’s nice to have the choice. I went alcohol free a few years ago and I really appreciate good alcohol free choices. I had a seedlip and tonic but they also had a couple of alcohol free beers and a cider.

One of my locals and the food is usually lovely, but today it was awful! The belly pork was overcooked and the sour-dough bread burned to the point that no amount of butter was going to make it edible. Cost £14 including a soft drink, but I couldn't really eat the food, so a complete waste of money. Not sure if they have new chefs, because it's always been nice food before. Unfortunately I won't eat there again now.

My wife and I booked a table for a mid week treat. So glad we did. We were made very welcome by the pleasant staff and whilst the place was busy, there was a lovely atmosphere. My wife had her usual burger, always seems to choose this wherever we go! I had the Chicken Souvlaki. Now she really enjoyed her burger but my Souvlaki was off the scale brilliant. Fresh salad, very tasty feta and well cooked and seasoned chicken. Along with fries this was a substantial meal indeed. We both had a dessert, well it was a treat night, one lemon tart and a biscoff cheesecake. Both absolutely delicious if a little on the smaller side. Including a couple of drinks each the bill came to £69.00. Just a word to the wise, you can’t add a tip to your bill if paying by card, it has to be cash. We need to return soon and correct that having no cash on us tonight. We will sort it next time, I promise, as the staff definitely deserve it. The bar area is dog friendly and our three pups loved the attention from everyone. Thanks to all at The Nut Tree. We’ll be back very soon, with cash!!!

The service was good, the food we chose was nice and the location is good. The one criticism we have is that there is little choice for Vegans for Sunday lunch (some of our party including children are Vegan) and there does not seem to be a menu that can be seen online prior to visiting. If we had known that we may well have gone elsewhere so that all of our party were happy with their choices.

Our second visit to the Nut Tree for Sunday lunch. The first time was okay so we'd thought we'd give it another go. Unfortunately we won't be going back for a 3rd visit. The meal was tasteless with hard potatoes, which we had to ask for more initially as they only gave us a small bowl between 4, shouldn't have bothered. The chips weren't good either, with the smallest portion of peas ...... and don't be sucked in by the thought of pigs in blankets - you get 3 small ones for £4 something, cant remember exactly the cost. The young lad who took our drinks order was lovely and so was the girl who cleared our plates, so a shout out to them but that's as good as it gets. Save your money cook it yourself for a lot cheaper and I bet you'll enjoy it more!

We popped in for a quick drink, car park was brilliant…..spacious and easy access to the pub. On approaching the bar we queued behind two people who were booking the venue for a future event. It obviously was taking some time but the bar person didn’t bother to ask the other member of staff who ( we didn’t realise was free) was standing around the corner staring into space, to help us!! We eventually walked around the corner and found the member of staff and gave her our drinks order. She looked confused then said she’d get the other member of staff to make them and she would bring them over. Fair enough, we paid and sat down to wait. We watched our drinks being made and were put on the bar next to a customer who was now being served. The staff member who had served us walked past the drinks a few times while she picked up an empty glass from a table then disappeared. The customer at the bar then offered to bring our drinks over…….we obviously got up and retrieved them ourselves but with no apologies from any staff member!! All very strange and although we did laugh I don’t think we will visit again as it took forever just to get one drink in a very empty pub!!

Came her again Tuesday evening with friends for a main meal and catch up. I've been coming here for years, every few months or so. This occasion, what has happened? Menu is larger ( not a good sign). The prices are higher than average for a pub, but I don't mind as food is usually good. I ordered the Moroccan tagine. Sadly, whilst it looked good it was pretty tasteless, my friend had a burger which she thought was ok, but my other friends lasagne was also not as good as I have come to expect from this establishment. The staff were friendly and attentive, although I was given ice in my drink when I asked not to have any. Pubs are pubs, and restaurants are restaurants. However, the nut tree had built a reputation of restaurant food in a pub. It seems this is now starting to slip, I feel. I will return, but if the demise in the food standard continues, I will need to rethink.

We came here for my father's 70th. The food was absolutely beautiful, both normal and gluten free. The children's food sizes were huge, so they didn't finish their's (just a heads up!). My only gripe would be that it was quite chilly where we were sat (round near the ladies toilet) as it was near the garden door, also. This door was being used as an exit for smokers and so was being used quite a bit and in this weather, the cold air coming in was not helping. A small heater probably would have helped.

I am usually happy eating at the Nut tree and the food is normally delicious but we normally have a Sunday roast . We went on the 27th of December and it was extremely busy and the staff were busy so some delays . I had pie of the day which was beef and Stilton and obviously home made but when it came out to myself and another table the top was burnt and the pastry was so hard it was inedible , as I was with family and their local I did not say anything but the local person I was with did but nothing got said much apart from the chef would be told but no info was relaid back to us . We ordered desserts but my cheese cake was broken and just plonked on a plate with no thought and ice cream was melting . Black Forest sundaes were ordered but they were diabolical in their presentation and plonked in a glass and there wasn’t much for £7.50 . Just one cherry 🍒 in a bottom and should have been flavoured with kirsh . It just looked like they had run out of proper glasses and something was thrown together and no wafer or presentation at all so very disappointing as it was a late family get together . I am not sure what else to say but not the standard it usually is so dint think we will be back . We should have taken photos but didn’t want to make a fuss and a free wine or something should have been offered especially with the beef and Stilton pie and should not have been sent out as very over cooked and burnt pastry . Think I will leave it there . I like to give good reviews

My only real gripe about this place is wey too many dogs being allowed in, very bad considering a lot of people were eating....hence 4 stars and not 5.

We visited the day after western carnival, we'd just finished camping so was a little scruffy and tired but was welcomed in with our dogs so no issues there. Waiting to be served and waiting for our means was painfully slow, well over an hour and half for our meals, I got the impression they were short staffed as there appeared to be only three staff to the whole packrd restaurant, the food was good, mine was the steak and ale pie a it was bit too salty, as a chef myself I'd recommend cutting out some of the salt, not easy with stock based dishes but it would of helped as it was overpowering the dish. My partner had a chicken dish which she loved. Staff were very friendly and helpful, a few minor issues to help improve things but all in not a bad experience at all.

Out of 5 of us, those who had fish and meat very happy. For those that had vegetarian, a different experience. It was very poor and I could not eat it. Neither the aubergine or sweet potato was adequately cooked. Neither of those are foods which taste food raw. I cannot remember ever having to send something back. I wasn’t very impressed by the response of the waitress to the food being inedible

Absolutely flabbergasted!! I am disgusted with how me and my friends were treated, Problem 1: Owner. What is with this guy? He is very defensive when it comes to critical feedback, Extremely rude. Seemed semi drunk. Problem 2: Food. What the flipping hell is this? I ordered a veggie burger and it had meat? Are you kidding? What if I was allergic to meat and bit into that. Like seriously? On top of that my friend who isn’t vegetarian said her burger was dry and flavourless. Just like the vibe of the whole place. Problem 3: I found a hair in my drink…. It was curly. Yuck. Please avoid this place at all costs!

Absolutely lovely pub. Just moved to the area and the nut tree is our new local. We have lucked out. Incredible food, great atmosphere, dog and family friendly, really well conditioned beers aaand the staff are absolutely fantastic. Drink prices are cheaper than the local Marston's in the area and much better quality. I honestly can't fault anything about it.

Really nice pub and well designed inside and out. Dogs allowed in a certain area and as I am having implants put in by a London clinic (Dentaprime....very professional 70%cheaper for implants..) so at the moment I am restricted as to what I can eat. But they have a great menu and the food we ordered was liked by all of us. Nice outside area for a drink or to eat when the weather gets better.... can hardly get worse!!! Well that's my review and I recommend this pub for everyone young, old or four legged🙃🥸

This was presented as 1 star Michelin restaurant. Not so. The dishes were creative and the service was great. But, It didn't reach my expectations as a Michelin starred restaurant. Really good but I was expecting great.

Beware booking for food... Booked a table for 330pm for Sunday dinner, walked here from weston Milton and tried to ring ahead saying I would be 10 mins late, got there 15 mins late and stood waiting for service, then someone came out and told us the kitchen is closed now because we were 20 mins late...it was just under 15 and we was turned away. We was not informed that we were the last table we weren't told that the kitchen would shut soon or anything and they weren't willing to accommodate. Bought a coke as it was baking and it was a 1.5 mile walk there and 1.5 mile walk back, not great so won't be coming back.

Had food tonight and the standard of food was generally very good but the whole experience was let down massively by the lack of service. They bought the wrong drinks, didn't check on the table, we had to leave the table and find a waitress to ask if we could have a dessert, but the worst part was they were taking all of the Xmas decorations down in the room whilst we were eating, such a shane as the food was very nice, it felt as if the staff didn't really want us there.

Our visit to The Plough Inn this Summer was nothing short of wonderful. This charming establishment in the heart of the village is the epitome of a classic English country pub, offering a warm welcome to both locals and visitors alike. The Plough Inn is particularly dog-friendly, making it a perfect spot for us as pet owners, a chance to relax with our furry family member. The landlord is notably hospitable, ensuring every guest feels like part of the community. His dedication is reflected in the well-curated selection of real ales and ciders, which are a treat for any enthusiast. The beer garden at The Plough Inn provides a serene setting to enjoy these beverages, especially during the warmer months. As for the food, the meals are hearty and satisfying, with the steak and pie standing out for their flavor and quality. These dishes perfectly complement the rustic, village atmosphere of the pub. Overall, The Plough Inn is a fantastic choice for anyone looking to enjoy traditional pub fare, excellent drinks, and a friendly environment. It truly captures the spirit of Congresbury and the surrounding countryside.

Lovely pub with very friendly staff. Expensive drinks but the food was lovely. Just one thing which seems to be happening in more and more eating venues was the American style 10% gratuity payment added to the bill!? By adding this cost without the initial agreement of the customer, is designed to make it just too embarrassing to challenge when paying! I personally would rather leave a cash tip for the staff if they serve you well! So basically add on 10% when you look at the advertised prices in this pub!
