A brilliant place to go if you want an amazing Sunday Roast. Cooked to perfection ,there isn't anything that they need to improve. Great service too

Great beer garden and reasonable price for ales.

Food and service poor. None of us enjoyed our meals. The burger was so greasy you couldn’t hold it. I had scampi which was ok, but I had to ask for the alioli supposed to come with the garlic bread. Daughter’s dinner very salty. No check back from staff so no opportunity to raise our difficulties. Sadly despite living close by we won’t return.

We dropped in early evening for a quick drink each, and some dinner for our young son. So, as adults we haven’t experienced the food but I felt such a positive vibe from the place I had to post a review. The beer garden on entry looked well kept, the staff were welcoming, decor on point, and the menus well priced. Staff v attentive. We’ll be back for certain to explore the food and wine on offer, and looking forward to it!

Ordered smoked haddock fish cakes, new potatoes and salad. Only one fishcake which was nice, new potatoes not cooked and couldn't cut them. The salad was a pile of lettuce leaves, nothing else. Meal sent back. Returned without the potatoes. New batch of potatoes arrived after we had finished eating. Very disappointed as hoping to make this a regular bolt hole.

Amazing roast dinner!! Came here with my in laws today for Father’s Day. We had never been here before but just moved to the area and thought we would give it a try as the roasts sounded good. All 6 of us had starters and the triple roast of pork, beef and chicken. Every single one of us couldn’t find a single fault with the food, it was absolutely incredible, had so much flavour and was presented really well. The pork in particular was to die for and we’ve all said we will come back again. The outside sitting area looks lovely too- definitely looks like a good environment for a relax and a few beers. Staff were really friendly and attentive too. Thanks so much :)

Came this morning to complete some work at the Moorend Sprout What a great looking place... These guys have this place looking amazing. The beer garden is something very special... Photos show this amazing outside space.. Inside was exceptionally bright and clean throughout. The landlord and family were very welcoming... This hidden gem is tucked in the little village of Nailsea and well worth a visit if in the area.. 😎

This lovely pub is a very relaxed venue for lunch in comfortable attractive surroundings. The menu is great, food delicious. The venison pie is highly recommended.

well, we were staying in the local area and chose this place completely at random. What a gem. Food was really lovely and reasonably priced (shared a hock terrine starter, had chicken breast in garlic breadcrumbs and mushroom and spinach suet pudding for mains), hand-pull ale was lovely too but the icing on the cake was the bingo, the quiz (great quizmaster) and the clientele who were friendly, funny and great to spend an evening with. Thanks for making our couple of days away really special.

We were recommended this place by no fewer than three people so we were delighted when they could fit us in at short notice on Good Friday. But the good news ended there pretty much. No one to show us to our table until we asked, no one came to take a drinks order, no drinks menu. The dining room was pretty empty and there was a nicer table by a window which was reserved for 7.30. It was 5.50 when we got there. I said we'd be quick but was refused. Never mind. Both had fish and chips and alarm bells should have rung when it turned up in 5 minutes. Not restaurant quality, obviously frozen chips, small fish in a lot of batter and very oily. My wife ordered a cocktail which was from a bottle. Desert was OK. Overall disappointed after such gushing recommendations. Would not return.

My friends and I had dinner and drinks, everything was really nice, the Crispy king prawns, chicken wings and chicken strips were delicious, the bar staff was really friendly and welcoming. Would definitely recommend for a night out

Had an excellent lunch today as always, food was excellent as were the staff, especially Mel, behind the bar. Would highly recommend.

We visited as a pre booked & ordered group for a friends ‘special’ birthday lunch. Sadly it wasn’t a success as we’d hoped. Pre ordered sandwiches were served on the thinnest cheap bread that had been toasted to resemble Melba toast! So hard you couldn’t eat or try to, the fish fingers inside were greasy & chips cold. The steak sandwich was tough & inedible with no mushrooms & the same toasted bread not bloomer as advertised on the menu. The wrap was some sort of reconstituted meat with cold chips! I could go on but it was extremely sad for the birthday girl to say the least. The staff were obviously busy & understanding but we should have been told of any expected problems beforehand. As well as terrible food the waiting time for pre ordered food was over an hour, our table didn’t eat anything that we could together. The staff did adjust the bill accordingly but too late for an already terrible lunch. We will not be going here again!

3rd Sunday we’ve visited for a lunchtime drink and each time the manager behind the bar is the same . No personality, no conversation whatsoever & looks as miserable as sin !. He doesn’t inspire us to eat here . On the plus side , the bar area smelt nice & clean & as if it had just been polished .

Lovely pub with lovely friendly staff. Always made to feel welcomed, whether it's just popping in for a quick drink, to play darts with kids or to sit and eat a meal. Food has always been nice and we like the 4 for £22 bar snacks deal when playing darts.

I've just had my 70th birthday meal at The Moorend Spout and would like to thank all the staff for such a lovely meal all the family was with me from 4yrs old upto myself at 70 and everyone complimented on such lovely food. We stayed for the bingo and quiz after which was great fun... I would like to recommend them as a great venue for a celebration destination 😊... Regards Steve F.

Visiting a friend who recently moved to the area. Popped in for a couple of games and pints before heading into Clevedon. Pub has 3 separate areas all well set out for dining, sports and enjoying each others company. The people were so very polite, welcoming and friendly. Granted we only had a bowl of chips but they were gooooood! I'm heading down again in October and we're going straight back there for more of the same. The menu is diverse with so much choice too. A fabulous, what I like to call "proper pub" Loved it! Back again for some more afternoon darts and food. LOVE this place, staff are always so friendly and helpful and the food is ALWAYS DELICIOUS!!! if you're in the area check out this warm, friendly, spacious and welcoming proper local pub!

Owner claiming I have got the wrong pub to cover up his poor hygiene- The moor end spout, next to the comrades club. Emailed the Pub a month ago regarding my husband & I’s horrific experience at this pub. NO reply. Upon arrival we had the pleasure of witnessing the chef not have any personal hygiene (I’ll spare you the details). Needless to say it put us off wanting to book a big family festive meal there.

A peaceful evening with my friend. The cider I had was nice... My friend had a pepsi. The food was well cooked. I had a mushroom tarragon suet pudding which was rather delicious, the gravy wasn't overly reduced which so commonly I find with restaurants, the vegetables were seasonal and well cooked too. Mostly al dente to which I was rather impressed, the kind of roasted potatoes were pleasant... Yeah cannot complain... My friend had scampi and chips, mushy peas and tartare sauce... She didn't have enough lemon for it all I felt... The wedge was too small. The peas were minted and so she didn't finish them, mushy peas should be made with marrowfat and served un-minted. Personally I wouldn't serve the same chips with. A proper chip would be better. These were thickly cut fries. Moving on to dessert I had blackberry and apple crumble with cherry and clotted cream and my friend had a cookie with vanilla ice cream. There wasn't enough fruit in the crumble, but the ice cream was unbelievably delicious and the crumble topping was well made and had oats in. My friends cookie was far too rich and served in a violently hot pan... I can let a chef off for presentation but like? If it endangers the customer it's not a bright idea (my friend I think played down that she burned herself on said pan) the waitress had warned yes... But like... Come on! Overall a good experience. Very reasonably priced too. Probably will be back at some point

Booked a birthday lunch for 3 people. Unfortunately, when we arrived we were squashed against a wall with the 4th chair pushed right in against the wall, so we had nowhere for our legs to go! Really uncomfortable and no free table to move to because there was a wake also in the restaurant area. 2 courses took over 2 hours (starter arrived quick but main took ages because they served the 25+ people at the wake before us, even though we had arrived first). No one came to offer us a dessert so sadly we decided to leave and bought our dessert from Tesco. Food was lovely, apart from very disappointing mixed grill. When we paid at bar, turns out they had added a 10% service charge, which we wouldn’t have given on this occasion if we’d known. I feel we should have been told there was a function and that there could be a delay, especially as only one waitress working! We would have been prepared then. One disappointed 91 year old father celebrating his birthday.

I'm always wary of posting about places I know, the Moorend is my local, I know it well, I might be accused of bias. However, my wife and I ate here this evening. My wife had the Taiwanese prawn curry, she finished it all, an empty plate, a remarkable thing. I had the pulled lamb shepherd's pie with seasonal veg, I also finished it, another empty plate. Both were hot, full of flavour and delicious. I had sticky Toffee pudding for desert, I was told I couldn't lick my plate. My wife had an enormous 'mini' Eton mess. Another empty dish. An amazing evening. Service was attentive and exemplary, despite them being busy. Staff were were friendly and responsive. Price was moderate given the size of our portions, but I would have gladly paid more for the meal, it was that good. All tables were taken so I suggest booking on a busy event day and aways on a Sunday. There's is a car park at the back, and a garden for a Sunny day. Maybe I'll see you in there...

Wow! Today we are here for my Dad’s 70th birthday there was 15 of us. The staff were were so attentive and very friendly/ helpful. The food was great too. I would definitely recommend this place if it’s just for a drink but the food I had today was really good ( everyone was happy with their food ) and the desserts did not disappoint either. We live in Clevedon but will definitely be back again. Can’t fault the food or the service ! Great pub with a cosy atmosphere 😍

This has turned itself around so much in a year, the previous owners ruined it. Now they have new owners, and the food is amazing. Reasonable pried too. Love the new set menu too, we have eaten from that 4 times this month!! Serving staff are all well presented and nothing is too much trouble. Even on a Tuesday they were busy, but we were served promptly with a smile each time food was served or taken away. Lovely warm feeling when inside the pub, and again will be back!

What a shame my pie was well over microwaved and got harder as it cooled i managed to eat it as i covered it in gravy we spent over£ 80+ and i did mention it twice only to be told sorry we had two more bookings that i have now cancelled you need to look after your regulars the staff were excellent food not so

Just returned from Sunday lunch. I have to say what an amazing experience. I had the duo roast and I have to say it was pretty amazing. Lovely meat, roasties and beautifully cooked veg. Perfect gravy too!!! Excellent value for the cost. My son had the bacon cheeseburger and he said it was great. Nice atmosphere and very friendly and efficient staff. Will definitely be returning .

Family get together on a Saturday night. Food was great, lovely servers. Reasonable prices. Was a bit disappointed with the sticky toffee pudding, but I am a dessert snob.

This pretty country pub sits in a welcoming garden - the Menu looked promising offering Spectacular Sunday Roasts and Decadent Pub classics. Sadly neither lived up to the hype! The Pork Roast was small, served without the promised crackling whilst the Hand made chicken pie consisted of a gloopy sauce with minimum meat, undercooked pastry and a dollop of mash. The dessert menu looked tempting but no staff cleared our plates or offered to take our orders so we decided to leave. This pub has the potential to be a real gem in a lovely setting but it really needs to be more customer aware and to deliver value for money meals for its clientele.

Thanks to a complete disaster at my original booking we ended up at The Moorend Spout tonight, thank goodness we did, superb food, great service, can't recommend it enough- got yourself a repeat customer!

First visit to this really nice pub with the kids. Jenga kept them occupied. Friendly atmosphere, nice big garden. Didn't eat but the menu looked good so I'll be back soon to try the food.

This was our first visit for a couple of years and we were pleased to find the new owners seem to have taken the place to their heart. The food was excellent, and the waitress did a great job despite it being busy. The owner seemed genuinely pleased to see customers and it was a very welcoming atmosphere.

We are from Bristol but we came for the 1st dog show, that my Yuki had a 1st place best veteran. Had a lunch that was amazing. Atmosphere is 100/100. I really recommend this place.

Lovely atmosphere, gorgeous garden and really friendly staff. food priced really reasonable and is absolutely delicious. Good choice for veggie and vegan as well as the classic meat choices. Wide selection of beer on tap and lotsof events and evenings held here :)

Really nice food and a lovely place, they looked to be training new staff and our order had to be taken twice, but we have had a first day. There is a 10% service that was added without given us the opportunity to say yes.

This lovely old pub has changed hands a few times recently. At last they have new owners that care about the place. Its time to go back to the spout for good food and beer. so much better than a few months ago.

As others have said, the restaurant went downhill with change of ownership but local word of mouth suggested improvements, so we called in for lunch. I had fish & chips, which was adequate but not spectacular. I asked for garden peas, but was served mushy...

Wow, what a difference a couple of weeks and a husband and wife team that are both chefs with clearly a passion for quality produce makes. I am not easily pleased when paying to eat out, but honestly…..I couldn’t fault what we had. 4 of us and we all loved it, including an amazing dessert!! When our meals came out, they reflected the photos posted here already, which yes you would expect, but in some places doesn’t happen. The flavours…….delicious! I had the mushroom and blue cheese burger with sweet potato fries. As Arnie says……I will be back!

We were disappointed with the food quality on our last visit, totally different on this occasion, the restaurant was quite busy and had a nice atmosphere, the food quality was 100% better, after commenting to the waitress she said there had been a change of management, well done to the new team.

The food was really good, I ordered the roast (chicken and pork), which was very tasty. All the vegetables were cooked really well too. I then had the crumble for dessert, which was lovely. The staff were great, friendly and accommodating. I would definitely go back again

We hadn't been for a while because of the hygiene rating but as this had improved from zero to 4, we decided to give it a go. I loved the new moody decor but did not like the two noisy televisions in the bar so we went into the restaurant. One of our 3 drinks was wrong but this was quickly changed. Two of us had mushroom pie and the pastry was very hard though filling was OK and the rest of it was OK. Prices were also OK at £54 for 3 meals and 3 drinks. Service was very good.

Went to Sunday lunch. After we had ordered drinks, we we told beef and lamb were not available. From pork, turkey and chicken I chose pork. The meat was hidden on the plate by a large Yorkshire pudding. The portion size was meagre and included a large lump of fat. Not impressed!

A group of 7 of us ate there last week. We were a little apprehensive as reviews have been patchy since it changed hands. However we all had an excellent meal, which was at least as good, if not better, than before the changeover. So...

We visit for lunch with my colleagues and it was disappointed.I had a steak and mushrooms baguette and it was not worthy the 9£. It came without caramelized onions,dry without even butter ,the meat was hard you couldn't eat it and as for the mushrooms it was one raw mushroom on the top. Perfect for a drink, beautiful pub but nor for food .

I left this review previously but it was removed by trip advisor for reasons I cannot understand. We ate here between Christmas and New Year. Tasty food and good service. Good size portions. We had no complaints at all.
