Called in for lunch on the way to the airport. Will do it again. Lovely food.

Sunday lunch with family Lovely food, had to pre order and no issues Service was good.

Told it was a lovely meal, but oh how disappointing, potatoes seemed frozen with a strange taste, bland taste to cauliflower cheese didn’t seem like there was any cheese. Pasta bolognaise not very tasty at all, pigs in blankets weren’t nice, chocolate brownie was very floury and powdery, no salted caramel ice cream. Very disappointed ☹️

A superb traditional pub, which is easily accessible. The food was amazing and the ales were well kept. Refused to serve me the end of the barrel, which shows a very good pub! Highly recommended 👍🏼

Nous y avons passé une nuit, et c'est un hôtel bruyant car les avions passent au dessus avant d'atterrir à Bristol, mais en même temps il est situé à moins de 10 min en voiture de l'aéroport. Ce qui rend les nuits très compliqués. Pour le repas du soir ( nous avions réservé une table en amont) , nous avons attendu assez longtemps avant qu'une serveuse veuille bien nous apporter la carte et après qu'elle prenne notre commande (on avait l'impression de les déranger plus qu'autre chose) Gros bémol malgré que la chambre soit assez spacieuse, LA DOUCHE ou l'eau était brulante. Impossible pour nous (3 personnes) d'avoir de l'eau tiède et encore moins de l'eau froide même avec le bouton réglé sur froid à fond. Du coup impossible de passer sous le pommeau de douche car risque de brulure important. Pour nous le seul point vraiment positif reste la proximité de l'aéroport de Bristol

Had a lovely lunch with family. Very generous portions offering good value, food all good and very pleasant service. Very pleasant outdoor seating area with well kept kids play area.

I stayed here for one night as a stopover . Beds and rooms were comfortable. Food was also nice. The reason for four stars was because there was a party in the bar with loud music and this was allowed to go one beyond midnight on a weeknight so disrupted my sleep

Sunday Roast. We´ve tasted Beef and pork belly, both very good but the pork belly was amaizing.

Staying locally before flight on holiday tomorrow. Popped in here on recommendation from owner of where we are staying. Had the most incredible meal! We were a little disappointed in very few vegetarian options, but what we had was incredible. Such generous portions, and what we did have was bursting with taste, and beautifully cooked. I can't recommend this place for food enough!

The location and accommodation, plus the helpfulness of the staff, coupled with friendly and efficient short Bristol Airport transfers took the stress out of our travel. Thank you Amy and Team

Visited today for drinks and food whilst awaiting for our room to be available (staying at old farmhouse) We were recommended by the owner to visit this pub and were not disappointed. Staff absolutely polite and welcoming, food top quality. Place is clean and in a prime location from the Airport. Only downfall, the staff and owners don’t stop the Aircraft Pilots and ask them to turn the engine noise down….how rude! Please, could those leaving cynical reviews get a grip on reality as some of the reviews are aimed at those with no control, yet trying their best to operate a quality, clean well run establishment. We highly recommend a visit to eat, drink and or stay, even at the old farmhouse close by if full. You won’t be disappointed and will use this location in the future as our pre holiday base! Delicious food, well prepared and seasoned. Welcoming services and still friendly and smiling during rush hour. We enjoyed our date there.

Stayed overnight for the airport. Small double room was just that. So cases had to be put in the bathroom, but the bed was very comfy, there was tea/coffee and bottled water and the room decor was lovely. Big problem though was there was an issue with the hot water, in that there wasn't any! To be fair to staff when we told them in the afternoon, they did try get it fixed in the evening, but obviously it wasn't successful as there wasn't any when we got up at 0415..so couldn't shower before travel. So not great ! All other guests were also affected. As no staff on site until pub opened, had to email; staff member Amy was very apologetic and offered a 22% refund on the room rate. On a positive the food was very good and pub itself was nice. It suited due to location to airport, but based on experience unlikely would stay again.

The incredible bonus was that the dog could come in and sit with us! A perfect location, perfect food, perfect staff. A must revisit in store.

I absolutely loved my Sunday roast but my girlfriend golden beet pie literally had none in and she was very disappointed the manager refunded her completely and said he can't help what he is supplied with from companies. Understandable. So I left the staff half of the refund and can't wait to go there again. No golden beet pie next time

Wonderful Sunday lunch and really friendly service. The pub is nicely decorated and despite being really busy the food didn't take long to come. The Sunday lunch was really fresh and there was more than enough. Loved the fact we could take the dog and also had the option of ordering extra sides for our roast dinners. We'll be back again!

Found this place in a little village as we wanted to eat before getting to Bristol airport. What a great find, excellent pub grub, quick service, a very clean place with very good staff. Average priced deliciousness.

went on 1st October having not visited for quite sometime and we were all very impressed with the quality of Sunday lunch also with the size of the portions and all the staff were very helpful which made it a very enjoyable time and we are looking to go back soon and many times tin the future

Found by accident and didn't dissapoint. We stopped for a family meal before heading on to Bristol Airport. Stunning location, stunning pub, great service and great food. I enjoyed the pie special and it didn't dissapoint washed down with a lovely pint of cask ale. Added bonus that kids ate free with each adult main.

Just stopped off for some afternoon tea whilst passing on a long walk. Tea was good although sadly they didn't sell any cakes to go with. Sat outside at the front - very busy for a Friday afternoon. Near the speaker and the music was terrible! Noted a very good cider selection though...

Overnight stay in a small but well decorated room with en-suite shower. Bar underneath is old style with beams and was full of friendly locals. Short drive to airport and well worth a visit.

Super pub that is dog friendly. Had dinner here on 2 occasions and food was perfect - service good and menu choice very good - price very good value. Staff excellent. Would recommend to all - lovely atmosphere. If I lived nearer this would be my local!

Food was pretty much faultless, the only thing I would say is the chips used to be homemade but we heard the place was under new ownership since we’d last visited, but obviously the chips was not a major concern. All the food we had was locally sourced and delicious. Sausages were really rich and was accompanied by mash, cabbage and gravy. The burger was a proper butchers one and was full of tastiness. The lasagne was homemade and a proper meaty one (not tomatoey like a lot of places). We sat in a room which lacked a little atmosphere as we were away from the main buzz. Overall very good meal and would love to return again!

Terrible hotel and service. The manager namely Amy was very unhelpful and backtracked on her promises when I couldn’t make reservation. Refused to give me the contact details for her superior which is a breach of the Freedom of Information Act (2000). I would not recommend using this hotel or services.

Stopped on impulse for a lunch - lovely traditional pub with separate cosy dining areas. Breton chicken pie mash and curly kale was excellent and only £13.95. Swift and very friendly service. Will return - highly recommend.

Wow at pow! My first impression was wow! This pub has undergone a huge re-furb and what a transformation, beautiful decor, bright and very clean. My family and I went for Sunday lunch and it was one of the best we have had in a long time, high quality food and delicious wine.I want to also applaud the very friendly and welcoming staff, thank you for making our lunch at Pow one to remember, we will definitely be back soon!

We arrived, celebrating one of our friends getting a new job, and sat for over an hour before anyone even arrived to give us a service! At that point, we ordered drinks, then waited for another 20 minutes for them to almost give us a menu, which was on a tablet, which they supposedly needed to clean, so we waited for another half an hour before we even saw the menu! We had some starters and a main, the main being on par with any other restaurant or pub of this calaber, but the starters where absolutely attrociouis, barely even edible!

What a transformation! I used to hate this dark, dingy pub with rubbish food and drink! The new interior is cosy where needed but also much brighter and open in other places. The barmaid recommended an excellent wine for me (I love it when staff are knowledgable and make recommendations) and we had a delicious 3 course meal. It was a sunny day so we sat in the garden and felt completely safe with the covid situation, the staff came to us so the only reason we had to go inside was for the toilet. The Sunday roast was delicious - I had the veggie Wellington, my husband had the beef which he said was cooked perfectly. My toddler ate all of her kids meal too (despite there being an brilliant play park - we managed to get her to sit and eat!). The chocolate brownie was one of the best I’ve ever had. Definitely recommend this and looking forward to going on a different day to sample their non-roast menu.

The P.o.W was my first dining out experience since lock down. I have to give credit to the new ownership for making the whole experience feel safe and secure. the one way system through the pub worked great all the meanwhile maintaining that great pub atmosphere so many of us are craving, not to mention the great food and pleasant bar staff.Good quality wine and beers - we will be returning and recommending to others.

I’ve been to POW on 3 separate occasions. Once with friends, once as couples and once with my young family. On all 3 occasions the staff were very friendly, service was great and the food was delicious. Garlic mushrooms and vegetable lasagne were really tasty and the nutroast roast had all the extras and again was very nicely cooked and a great portion amount. I believe there’s a new head chef now who comes with great training and recommendations so I’m really excited about returning to this classy pub with a lovely atmosphere.

Just wanted to say what a refreshing visit this was, i haven't visited in years. New owners seem to be setting a great standard. The interior decor is fresh, and the garden make over with playground was safe & fun for the children in our group. Thumbs up. Will be back!

Visited the prince of Waterloo a few times now but wow what a transformation! Pub has been taken over by new owners and they’ve done an amazing job with the place! We stopped by for some food and had the chicken burger, one of the best chicken burgers I’ve ever had! Would definitely recommend! But some other great choices on the menu that I will be back to try!Staff went above and beyond, very friendly and welcoming.Great beers and wines on offer.10/10! Can’t wait to come back!

I was so pleasantly surprised at how much the new owners have changed the pub! It’s bright and fresh and has a great selection of drinks. I had the vegetarian lasagne and it was the best one I’ve had in a restaurant! It was super tasty and packed full of vegetables and chickpeas.The whole atmosphere in there is great and I’m glad it’s opened again. They have some great local drinks which I’m sure will be helping support the community!

Went for a carvery as I have passed this pub many times on the way to the airport and often wondered what it would be like to eat in there. First impressions were that the decor etc was very nice. However I visited the toilet and there was no hand sanitizer in the toilet nearest the bar! The Sunday roast then arrived and it seemed like a child's portion and was very disappointing. The beef was quite tough and there was not a lot of it. The gravy was water thin and very sparse and the Yorkshire puddings resembled scotch pancakes! The cauliflower cheese was ok. Unfortunately, it is not a place I would recommend to dine although the pub itself is fine for a drink. In hindsight I wish i had read EllieS's review!

Where do I start? No social distancing from anyone. Seemed more like a frat house than anything. The staff’s friends seemed to populate the tables with no regard for anyone else. We waited 45 minutes for a menu which never came. The staff didn’t know what they were doing and served me the wrong drinks, for an extortionate price. The manager was rude and disinterested when we tried to speak to her. The final straw was the staff all smoking out the front in their uniforms, ignoring customers at the bar. Would give it a 0 star if I could.

What a wonderful meal this evening! Portions were generous and full of flavour. We felt very comfortable in the restaurant, where social distancing was respected. Well done to the team! A great start to a undoubtedly successful season.

This was when i went before a thatched pub But a fire spoilt that. Now repaired with a tiled roof it still has a traditional feel about it (told the insurance for a thatch roof was more than the place was worth ) still good beers and Cider ( Was in Somerset once)

We planned to eat in the pub however it was difficult to find the menu unless I used Facebook. Had a couple of drinks before deciding to get a takeaway pizza from them instead as no one seemed to be eating. Staff didn’t seem too welcoming but it’s the amount of locals that drank around the bar area that made us feel like we shouldn’t have been there. The pizza was ok, not worth £10 though. It’s such a shame because under the right management it could be a little goldmine.

This pub is my local and i have visited it a few times the bar staff from what i can see are all women and they are very good at Serving the customer and they are very helpful.The only downside to this pub is it has no website yet just facebook this is not good not everyone users social media.So on menu yet so the only way to see what on the menu is to visit it.

stayed in their accommodation across the road for 2 nights while visiting universities (Glasgow & Bristol). convenient for the airport. accommodation clean and tidy. family room worked well. shower downstairs wasn't great. fixing broken and not hot enough or powerful enough on eco setting, and fast setting was either too hot or very cold water. Wife and daughter used bath upstairs which was fine. self serve breakfast was adequate (cereal and toast/ tea and coffee). could have done with fruit juice and proper coffee. went to pub first night for quick drink. nice ales but a bit quiet and lifeless due to being midweek. overall absolutely fine for the money.

Plenty of parking and nice staff, friendly. Good place for a drink and snack/food before arriving at the airport. Very close to the airport, this was a great fine for us. We will return when next using Bristol Airport.

This lovely old country pub is under new management and has just resarted sunday carveries. Sadly the meal was not a patch on what it was before. Much less meat served on cold plates and very disapointing yorkshires. The traditional deserts have all gone, so if you want apple pie or fruit crumble this is not the place for you. Very friendly staff and I suspect for those wanting Italian food this will be a pub to visit. For old fashioned English fare they have a way to go

Recently went to the Prince of Waterloo as I heard it was under new management. The manager and staff behind the bar was very friendly as well as the Waitress who served my meal. We both tried one of the new flavoured Gin Available which was a great addition to our experience.

Easter Sunday was a fantastic day and not only the weather! Great entertainment and lovely Italian food what a change from pub grub menus, lovely welcoming staff fantastic atmosphere, will be going there again soon... worth a visit.
