We fancied an out of town pub dinner so picked this place. Parking is not too easy, we had to park in the road along with everyone else, make sure you leave space for big lorries to pass! Great atmosphere inside with friendly locals. Not a great range of ales, but then nowhere in Cornwall appears to be. It's Tribute in every pub! Food? Well the pork belly was absolutely brilliant. Decent size portion (I've been to places that serve up a square of pork the size of a postage stamp, this is not one). Lovely crisp cracking, lovely mash, great gravy and perfectly cooked veg. The baby carrots were just fantastic. My partner had beef ragu tagliatelle, which was also extremely tasty and a good size. Definitely worth seeking this pub out for the food.

One of the best roasts we've had in a long time, in this lovely old country pub. Choice of beef, gammon, or Turkey, including baby carrots, green beans, red braised cabbage, cauliflower cheese, parsnips, toasties, gravy and Yorkshire pudding = DELICIOUS. Thoroughly recommend.

We stumbled across the White Hart while walking the StMichael’s Way, and went back for dinner the following day as we liked its ambience so much. It’s partly real traditional pub with locals and proper beer, and partly a pub-restaurant with ancient divided-off nooks for a little privacy - and the two blend really well. Staff are friendly and helpful, food is pub favourites all cooked fresh, rather than “fine dining” and there’s no pounding Muzak; all of which suits us nicely. We will be back!

Beautiful, traditional country pub - a gem. Walked from home in Newlyn via Marazion on a big circular. Dropped in mid-walk Sunday lunchtime hoping to get a roast. Was greeted warmly, given a choice of tables and received an excellent roast within 20 mins of walking in. Will definitely be back - i hope Ludgvan realises how lucky it is to have a pub like the White Hart in its centre.

Have had lunch here a couple of times which has been nice and more recently had a Sunday Roast. Staff are friendly and welcoming. Dogs are welcome inside and out. Nice garden to sit in during the summer and cosy log fires in the winter. Use it or lose it!

Just had our second meal here. Our first was a lovely Sunday roast on the 22nd October and tonight we enjoyed their specials menu. I can honestly say we were so impressed with not only the friendliness of the staff, but the food was perfect (hence we came twice during our 7 day holiday). It’s definitely a must when visiting Penzance, and there is the added benefit of them supporting some local artists, which led to us purchasing 2 beautiful pieces. We will be back next time we are down this way again!

Waitress told us what real ales were on offer.............but then walked off without taking an order! We waited about 10 minutes for her to come back, by which time we were ready to order our food. Started off with hummus and bread. Was really tasty although it was really cold. I suspect that it had only been taken out of the fridge when we placed our order.I had the rump steak. Tasted OK but was tough to cut. My wife had the steak and ale pie which was very good. Great pastry.Had an Essentials shandy. As a family of 6 on holiday, we thought we’d take advantage of the Eat Out to Help Out scheme in August. This pub was one of the closest to where we were staying and had the best reviews. You can see why as it’s a super pub and great find. We had 3 delicious courses, tasted the local ale and enjoyed the ambience for the first time since Lockdown. Bliss! The planning via phone, message and email was all very efficient and we felt very safe eating out, following the guidance by staff. Just a shame there were long waits before ordering food (perhaps to be expected at this time), having to request drinks more than once and errors in our order and bill. We were surprised that we were served by 4 different members of staff all evening and just wondered if some of the errors could have been avoided (and less close contact with different staff also avoided) if we were served by 1 staff member. Despite this, we wouldn’t fail to recommend this pub as the food was amazing and staff very apologetic about their errors.

Very disappointed tonight with the white hart. Service was poor attitude was poor and then when I politely mentioned this it ended up being confrontational. Between myself and staff. I spent a fortune tonight first bar member very helpful however as the night/ evening went on the worse it got i tried to make my case by ended up feeling like a scum bag. the want to be chief only saying this as he wasn't a chief of anything of significant decided to become the big cocky one.. this was because I was having a conversation with what Turned out to be his other half I am disgusted in this place and will not be returning..After spending a fortune when family an friends come to visit. All they did was slag the sports club off which lets face it provides more services than they do expecially to our younger generation. They made us feel like scum today after spending other 200 pound.since 1.30 till 7 o'clock minuim thought I would support our local industry however wish i didn't. Could have had beers in and a takeaway cheaper. Really not happy im.not slagging them off as its a good pub but recently found it had a new manager. Since covid is this how the pub is gonna treat its locals . I'm put off from know on i would rather pay for a taxi to go else where or the sports club. Don't take this wrong but hope the new owners sort this as I now I wouldn't have felt this way with the old ownersMight loose a local.

I have to say the food surprised us at how good it was. When we first walked in, it was quiet apart from a handful of people at the bar. Initial impressions weren’t great as nobody talked through the specials or provided us with a menu. The glass of Chardonnay I ordered was either SB or Pinot. However, the food was very good! My husband ordered ham croquettes, delicious and a very generous portion size. For mains, hubby had the steak & ale pie and I had the veggie 3 bean chilli. Again very generous portions and absolutely delicious. I had a glass of Malbec with my meal which was again very good & made up for my earlier glass of wine. The young gentleman that served us was very polite and attentive. The only reason I’m not giving this place 5 stars is because the bar area didn’t do the food side of things justice which is a real shame as the meal was excellent.

Me and my mum eat at the White Hart on Sat Sun and Tues this week and every time the food and service were exceptional. As good as anywhere I have eaten in Cornwall and I do a lot of eating. Thank you Gary.

We prebooked a sunday lunch during our stay locally. There was no welcome when we presented at the bar and no table had been allocated. A female member of staff indicated to a table thay she said she intended us to sit at but there was a gentleman drinking there. She then said we could sit at a small round bar table where there was 1 chair and a window seat which was quite high so whoever sat in it would have difficulty eating on it. We asked for another but although there were 2 other vacant tables she said they were reserved. A member of the public then mentioned the 'other room' which was a cold room with large tables which we declined. The gentleman by then vacated 'our' table. We purchased drinks and sat down but we were drowned out by the noise of the people sitting right behind us in the bar!! Whilst i appreciate they were enjoying themselves the table was too close to the bar and not condusive to having a peaceful lunch. Feeling very uncomfortable, we left without eating our meal. The staff didn't seem to appreciate why we weren't happy and didn't seem to bother. Having made a pre booking we were expecting a much better experience. Will certainly not recommend this place due to the service!!

Visited for lunch. Ordered the fish & chips priced at £11.95. 5 minutes later I was served a piece of cheap, low quality, processed, somewhat triangular shaped battered fish and some oven chips. The peas came in a separate white square, small bowl as if they accompanied a work of culinary art. The landlords untrained Labrador bounded up to the table halfway through the so called fish & chip meal and put it's nose 6 inches from the plate. The staff had a bit of a bad attitude and the chef decided to come down to see who had complained about his abominable fish & chips. This public house is no more than three miles from Newlyn harbour, where they land all the fish from a large fleet. This place is worth avoiding unless you want slop served on-the-run with no other options.

Having not been here in over a year we thought we would have an evening out as we had always enjoyed the food and atmosphere, sadly we were disappointed and did not end up staying for food. Firstly on entering we could not smell and food smells only a damp musty smell. We ordered drinks and were shocked at the price, over £10 for a shandy and half a glass of lime and soda. On being seated upstairs it felt chilly, the table was grubby and the light feature on the table did not work. Awful pop music playing in the background was being drowned out by the bellowing voice of the chef downstairs in the kitchen, we could hear most of what he was saying including the 'F' words. After sitting for 10 mins we realised that the dish I would be ordering (slow cooked pork belly)was obviously not cooking so would most probably have been microwaved along with the dauphinoise potatoes, and the noise of the chef and music we decided to leave and eat elsewhere. Such a shame that this once lovely restaurant lacked atmosphere, fresh cooked food and respect for customers from the chef!

Very good service, and the staff were understanding when I mentioned needing to stay until my phone was fully charged. Nice fish and chips, plus the brownie was superb. Overall, it was very nice.
