Great find, well worth walking around to see what is around Waterloo. Great beer, brill food, and staff were full of joy and happy to talk about the local area. It's london, so prices are high, but this was better than many in the city and it has good old British character. As a tourist, I felt very welcome, and please do try the crumble.

Wonderful, vibrant pub tucked away on a cute side street in quintessential London. Excellent selection of beers & ales on tap and welcoming, attentive staff. The food was delicious too! We had a great time and will definitely be back for another visit. Highly recommended!

Great pub near Waterloo & Waterloo East stations. Food was excellent and a brilliant variety of drinks available.

Had Sunday lunch here and it was really great. The food arrived quickly and was hot and delicious. We were a party of 4 and had a variety of dishes but we all enjoyed our food. It was busy but the staff were unfailingly friendly and warm throughout our time there.

The White Hart is a cosy pub with a great atmosphere. I was there for a friend's birthday party, and it went off well.

Reserved a space for a works drinks for around 25 people. Worked perfectly not stressful at all for me as organiser and Rio had us all served and tab running very easily. Great night out, thanks

Muy mal servicio al cliente - no se recomienda. También los baños de señoras apestan al cielo y me dijeron que los caballeros no eran mucho mejores. Una vez me dijo un chef “nunca comas en un restaurante donde los baños no estén limpios, porque la cocina será la misma”.

Estábamos sentados en una de las pocas mesas sin cartel reservado. Tomamos una serie de bebidas y estábamos esperando para comer, pero nuestra mesa sin reservas de repente se convirtió en reservada por una fiesta de IBM. No pudimos pedir nuestra cena y nos echaron sin ceremonias. Sin explicación razonable y sin disculpas. Pis pobre servicio al cliente.

Very disappointed. We were only in London for one Sunday and were excited for a Sunday Roast and after researching we decided the White Hart had the best looking Sunday roast. Therefore, we booked online and selected a Sunday roast option. When we turned up at the pub they told us they do not take reservations, however, moments later told us that they did but they had not reserved a table for us. There were still spare tables so that was no issue however they then informed us that although we had booked for a Sunday roast they didn't have any. When looking into other online reviews we have reliased this is a common issue for this pub. Very disappointed as we were excited for our Sunday roast after a long day and then were not able to find another one at short notice. Would not recommend.

Went for fish and chips and a steak pie. Really attentive staff. A young guy who was very pleasant and had great hospitality skills. The food was very well cooked , hot and good value. Will be back

Had the famous Sunday roast yesterday, and my god did it live up, even surpassing my expectations. Was a very speedy service, with all the staff pleasant enough to assist with any needs I had. When the roast arrived, my mouth started to water. But it did taste just as good as it looked. Every bite was was an explosion of flavours in my mouth. The lamb was ever so tender, accompanied with the classic Yorkshire. It's a plate for the ages executed well enough to hold that name. Glorious.

It’s my second time visiting the White Hart and again I was not disappointed!! This time I went for the fish and chips and it was delicious!! Awesome selection of craft lagers and ales available, I can recommend the Camden Hells, was the crispest pint of lager I’ve tasted! Will definitely be back!

The staff at this pub were extremely helpful, and the atmosphere was lively and enjoyable. Unfortunately, I experienced food poisoning after my visit, which I suspect was due to the “crispy calamari” appetizer we had. It was the only seafood dish we ordered, and it left a disappointing end to an otherwise pleasant experience.

This is a tourist review so keep that in mind. We stayed nearby, so this was our local pub. It was really everything we hoped for in our expectations of an English pub. The look was right, the crowd seemed very local. They did have a really good menu and the food did not disappoint. It was busy and lively. A good spot to relax after the day.

Wow can’t put it into words how impressed I was with the Hart, unbelievably clean and the service was the best I’ve had in London in a long time. Bartender knew my name after two rounds !!! WILL BE COMING BACK!!! Phyllis made my night. She also made sure I tried some new cask ale, she is her !

Met up with a group of friends for a birthday celebration for food and drinks. The staff were so accommodating with our large group, the food was great and the drinks were too! I especially loved the chicken bacon burger!

Great pub tucked away near Waterloo station. Excellent service from attentive staff, good beer and we had two very enjoyable meals over the two days we dropped in during a recent trip to the city. The manager, Clare, was especially helpful. Recommended.

Amazing service and ambiance! Very spacious with many tables and nice decoration

It's a great location and relatively quiet given its proximity to Waterloo. I've often come here over the last two decades. However, the barman was a jerk. He came to me and asked what I wanted. After I gave my order, he started to lecture me on how I should have waited until other people had given theirs first. So why come ask me for my order? Like he was searching for confrontation. Then he was super rude to friends outside. They were smoking outside away from the door, and rather than say "please smoke over there" he started getting super rude, telling them they had no manners, and weren't thinking of the neighbours, how they should learn to be more thoughtful.... If there were instructions or a sign, we'd have been compliant. But the dude just wanted to be argumentative. A customer at the bar was also aggressive. No reason other than the barman's odd behaviour. Or maybe because we were flipping between English and French, but he was starting to push me around, and clearly wanted to escalate. But I de-escalated and moved away. He seemed to be friends with the bar man. I'll be avoiding this place in future.

Women's toilets were dreadful according to my partner and her daughter.

They have functional effective air-conditioning. Highly recommended.

You can always rely on the white hart for a welcome break in London. It is our go to.

Just wanted to say big thank you to all the staff for helping us out to organise the birthday party for my husband on Monday! The food was really tasty and coming pretty quick and everyone was really helpful on helping me out with the cake! If you wanna have a nice time or even a small birthday party as we did, I would definitely recommend this place!

Great to be able to book a table in a busy London pub. QR code ordering at the table works well and is perfect in a relatively small place with limited bar space. Food was good, service was swift and we had a great time. Have been for a drink many times before but it was the first time I had eaten there. I will be returning!

Quite nice ,hidden behind the buildings in London, dog friendly, good atmosphere and service.We ate a very nice avocado,mango and chicken salad, the waiter was very nice and attentive. Good choice!

Overall nice pub, most staff are super nice but there was one foreign looking guy (potentially Indian) who was so rude, gave me a lot of attitude. Made the entire experience so bad. Really disappointed how one employee can ruin the experience.

Ostensibly nice place with plenty of people available to serve, however the evening was spoiled by the continuous harassment from the staff in terms of "you can't stand there, it's staff access", or "you can't put your laptop down there, it's a fire escape", or "you can't stand there, it's outside the pub boundaries". Yet when asked, they would not point us at an area where we COULD stand or sit! Seriously, if you are going to serve several rounds to people at £7.50 a pint you either need to ensure you actually have genuine capacity, or stop serving/admitting additional people. Secretly, I believe the bar staff were simply having a bit of officious fun at our expense, but it spoilt the evening in any case. In the end we had a laugh about it with an informal sweepstake where we would try and guess which patron they would harass next. Ironically, there was a space outside actually ON THE ROADWAY which was built out as an outside extension (probably from COVID days). Clearly its not a problem drinking/eating there outside the pub boundaries as long as the council gets a take from them renting out our public highway!

The white hart combines the convenience of transport connectivity with local back-water charm. The beers consistently hit the spot and the food is clearly made by people who care about taste and presentation. If you’re looking for a Dickensian style location with a warm atmosphere, located within eye-shot of central London connections, this is the one for you. Keep up the good work…

Really nice place. I think the best was the amazing service. You don't find service like that nowdays in London.

Gastro-pub? Maybe, but for me, not one at the top of the list. We had the halloumi fries with chili jam … these were possibly the best part of the lunch we had. Nice and cheesy and melted to the right degree. The jam was nice, with a good little hint of spice. The mango and avocado salad had all the right ingredients, it was just heavy on the dressing, resulting in a somewhat limp affair. The cheeseburger was described as “mediocre at best.” It wasn’t offensive. It just wasn’t good. The hangar steak was fine. Not fine dining. Oddly, the chips with the steak were far better than the chips with the burger. Perhaps these were out of the bag? They were certainly baked, not fried. And with thick chips and thin chips being markedly different than each other, but consistent in size for each dish, it really does suggest packaged product. An ok meal, but perhaps not at the height of a 4.5?

Pre booked for Saturday late afternoon lunch, nice vibe in this side street pub. The selection of draft craft IPAs was outstanding, the food was delicious and customer service spot on, our party loved the Nachos Sharer, Halloumi Fries, Cheese Burger, and Hake. Highly recommended.

Great little boozer 2 mins from Waterloo Station. Popped in for a pint but stayed for a Sunday Roast. 19 quid but a big plate of food with a very generous portion of meat. Already earmarked for a return visit when we are next in London. Was very busy in there but not surprised as it's the sort of pub you walk past and have to pop in!

Lovely food here and good choice of beer! They poured my Guinness 0.0 correctly which gives them big points.
