We went for a couple of beers and an early dinner on a Sunday evening. The staff at the bar as well as at the restaurant was terribly rude and dismissive. The guy at the bar looked really annoyed that I interrupted his chat and just said “Yeah?” in a tone as if it was outrageous to ask for a beer I’m paying for. It was exactly the same in the restaurant. I asked the waiter if we were in the right place for food and his response was an eye roll and a pointed look at his watch. Then the same annoyed “Yeah?” when taking the orders and almost throwing the cutlery and plates in front of us. Such a shame as the food was really good but I will not be treated like this so will never go back.

We were looking for a true authentic English pub experience, and this place did not disappoint! The decor and vibe are amazing, very local and authentic. Food and service were spectacular. You could tell Nathan really cares - barbecue sauce tartar sauce. Etc.. Everything was homemade. Best fish and chips we have ever had Was awesome!

A nice place to share with friends, have something for lunch, and beer for cheering special moments.

Limited menu but what we ordered was decent not the largest seating area the cutlery could do with a upgrade but maybe they are being retro.

Well, back again. Travelled up from Portsmouth just to come to this great pub and fantastic Thai restaurant. As usual extremely friendy staff both in the pub and the restaurant and a great selection of beer and food. Visiting here has now become a monthly excurtion. Roll on July.

Fantastic food with fantastic staff! Would definitely recommend the Mac and Cheese. The service was fast and efficient. If you get a window table it’s a great people-watching spot as well!

Proper pub, good atmosphere, fine selection of beers

Clearly the allure some decent beer is strong here as this small pub was packed to the point of discomfort and so noisy we couldn't hear each other. I'm sure some people love that experience but I think I'd rather visit at a less busy time.

Shame all old bartenders gone, standard has gone down hill, not professional at all u could be waiting to be served for 20mins at the bar wont bat an eyelid even if you do catch their eye. Want a quick pint dont bother coming here

Incredibly rude staff member and non apologetic even after we spoke to the manager. Snatching glasses and sarcasm towards customers is just rude.

A great traditional London pub. Excellent selection of beers and a good spirit selection. Very friendly Landlord and staff. Food provided by a superb Thai restaurant at the rear. You can eat it in the pub if you wish. Very close to Waterloo station. So good we travel up from Portsmouth just to go there.

Tucked away , great boozer with added bonus of, out of this world Thai food. Can't recommend highly enough

Don’t take people’s money for expensive pints if you’re then gonna aggressively make them switch to plastic cups and pressure them out the door half an hour before closing. I get that you wanna go home, but it’s rude and people would choose to spend their money elsewhere if they knew your closing times don’t mean anything.

i’m very very satisfied! even if we came here at 2 pm (so maybe a little bit late for lunch) they served us some delicious plates. I think that the prices are right. as i said, the food was really good and the place is very beautiful.

Superb authentic Thai food and good vibes

An absolute treat of a pub, tucked away in a lovely spot a short hop and a skip from Waterloo station it's a real nice place. Plenty of variety of draughts (including an additional Irish stout to the usual Guinness) to keep everyone happy, there's very little to fault here. The pub has all the furnishings and features of an older pub, fitting in nicely to it's time capsule location, it's a real pleasure to be in. Gents' toilet is a little cramped for space but a very minor nit-pick. Will be heading back there for sure!

One of the best pubs in the land. No small rooms knocked into one antiseptic canteen and the restaurant is separate from the pub. No pub should have to turn itself into a restaurant as most pubs must in these stricken days. Needless to say, the ale at The King's Arms is excellent!

We popped in for a quick drink after a meeting. The bar staff were happy for us to sit in the restaurant until.it opened.

the owner was running at me with a rush to have my pint at 9:10pm while i was only myself having it outside and reminding me that it's forbidden after 9pm to have your beer outside and showing me the sign which was fair enough. it was fair enough until i saw around a herd of people enjoying their beers outside around 10:15pm with great loud and cheering. either have rules being applied at all or have nothing..

Lovely little traditional pub near Waterloo station. Busy, with people spilling out into the street, a sign said "More seating upstairs", but when I tried to head upstairs, a barman shouted at me rather rudely in front of everyone that it was closed, which was rather upsetting, and ruined the otherwise pleasant experience.

The manger of this pub helped me today when I had an accident on my bike on the road outside. They were so lovely and helpful, and the atmosphere inside seemed really nice. I’ll definitely be back for a drink!

Atmospheric, historic 18th Century pub with great Thai food and a big selection of beers. Knocked a star off because of poor accessibility, but that's an unavoidable result of the age of the building.

Smashing pub. One of the best stouts I've had in London too. Drink Guinness ordinarily but really like their Forged Irish Stout stuff. Did get two different prices for the same round so be aware.

Lovely pub, very popular, great beers. Only downside was the wait to get a table for food . . .we eventually gave up and went elsewhere which was a shame

Such a gem! Excellent selection of ales & an outstanding porter! Hope to see more vegan dishes to be added to the menu soon. Even though the pub is located on the street where the time stood still, it shouldn't stop us from adding an ethical twist to those wonderful Thai dishes today.

I really like this pub. However, for the past four weeks, I've been trying to book one of the private hire rooms upstairs. I've called and been down there a few times; they say they only take bookings by email. I've sent a few emails over the weeks, and have had no reply. Apparently they're having management problems. I hope they get sorted soon.

I tend to go to this pub at less busy times when it's quite. In the afternoon in the week. Or before lunch at the weekend. At these times it's less busy. The staff are very helpful. The Thai food is very tasty. I've eaten there on 4 occasions recently and have never been disappointed. A good selection of beer. I was impressed by the Small Beer at 2.5% it has a good flavour and body. Other beers, wines and spirits are available. It's a proper pub with a bit of atmosphere 👍

First place I went too on my first trip out of the U.S., literally got off a train and ended up here. Spent alot of time here then, and since. One of my first stops when I get into London. Great brews, excellent staff!

This pub is interestingly located in a neighbourhood off of Waterloo. It's really small and a bit awkwardly laid out. My party kept on getting knocked by the door where our table was.

First visit to this great pub retaining many original features including the public and private bar (both public obvs). A great selection of beers. We also ate in the Thai restaurant out back which was very busy for obvious reasons; it was superb! I wish this was on my doorstep.

Excellent pub hosting Kanchana's Kitchen Thai restaurant that had really good food. I had the Pad Gra Praw with chicken which was very spicy but delicious. Would recommend to friends and family.

Staff on phone a bit wound up and unpleasant. Best to pick an alternative if you can, they're a bit overworked here perhaps.

Love this little Thai restaurant tucked behind the pub. Gets rammed most nights but if you head there early, they can accommodate you. A two page menu with a curated list of popular Thai dishes. Food is well cooked and seasoned, and requests the spice levels to be amped up are well received. The food comes out quickly. Service is efficient to the point of being brusque at times and the bill is always presented on you’re done eating, regardless if you’ve asked for it. Pad grapow is the standout dish for me but the portions are well sized and always reliably tasty.

This is a very small traditional pub in a gorgeous part of Waterloo. It doesn't have much seating so if you're unlucky enough to have to stand up be ready to get in everyone's way.

Me and 5 mates visiting from the Midlands had a great night last Sunday. Good beer, good food from Kanchanas kitchen and it was quiz night. Very friendly pub.

Tiny overcrowded pub, no space, ended up standing outside. Not recommended.

My favourite pub, I've been coming here for years, since my daughter told me it was the best Thai food she'd eaten outside Thailand, and for the excellent beer selection, great service and food. Can get very busy, but that's not the pubs fault. So why a one star review?? Yesterday i popped in with a colleague and ordered a milk stout (which was excellent) and a glass of Sauvignon. I swiped my card and though i saw £12.40, but I didn't catch what the barman said, although my colleague though he'd said £17.40. I queried this and the barman confirmed £17.40. At first, i though London prices, but I later found that the beer was £5.90 and wine £11.50 !!!!! - that is seriously taking people for a ride. Firstly they don't ask you the size of one, and without asking serve the largest, at the highest cost - of course there is no visible price list. Receipts are invisible, and you have to ask. Even at London prices, £11.50 for a large wine is trying it on. Even my colleague commented that it was the most expensive glass of wine she'd ever had, and her local is an expensive Youngs pub, which has been renowned for it's high prices since it was gentrified a number of years ago. I love this pub, but please, don't try it on.

Vraiment trop bruyant et cuisine... bof!!!

Superb place. Great range of cask beer and the food was quality. Good range of Thai food in the restaurant at the back with decent prices and fast service. First to arrive for lunch but filled up very quickly. Beer very well kept and a lovely ambience to the front bar. Definitely a go to when getting the train from Waterloo station, close enough but also far enough away to avoid the hustle and bustle.

A Thai restaurant at the back of a great pub. I wouldn't have found it save for Google maps and couldn't fault brilliant tasty food freshly cooked in a lovely atmosphere. One of the best Thai meals I've tasted. It was accompanied by beer from the pub which had a great selection of beers.

Good food, good beer selection. Bar staff often very, very rushed, but they do try hard.

Flat, lifeless cask ale. Even the Blue Moon on keg was fairly lifeless so left it and went elsewhere.

The food was very nice but the service was so so slow. I don't like the fact you have to go get your own drinks and have to pay for the food and drink separately (esp when there's a 12.5% service charge). Go for the food if you're not in a hurry

Típico bar inglés pero con un restaurante de comida Thai en la parte de atrás, lo que le da un gran toque y una mezcla muy interesante. La comida es buena. Pedí un plato para compartir que te cobran 9libras POR PERSONA, lo cual no se entiende bien en el menú. De cualquier manera estuvo rico y pudimos probar varias cosas. De tomar pedí una milk stout que estaba buena y suave. El personal del bar es brusco y un poco grosero, pero la mesera del restaurante Thai es muy amable. La atmósfera es relajada, cómoda para platicar y relajarse. Recomendado.
