The food was excellent. Best Sunday lunch I’ve had in ages cannot fault. The service and staff were brilliant We were a quite a large party and sometimes hard to please everyone but my whole family enjoyed their food with not one complaint Well done Thank you

One star after a very rude member of staff took our table from the place where we were seated after a different member of staff set that place up for us. Apart from that, it's a nice pub. Good experience with the rest of staff.

This is my local pub and I go at least once a week and feel so blessed to have such a lovely pub down the road. It’s easily my favourite pub in Camberwell. Has all the vibes, staff are lovely and food has gotten better and better over the years. My only negative comment is that all the umbrellas should be taken down when the footie’s on in the back garden because it’s hard to see the screens if you’re at the back but that’s only a minor negative and all the other positives are much more important!

Has Neck Oil or Brixton Pale Ale as Ipa type drinks. Wanted to order Halloumi fries on menu, which was on table, but apparently not served on Sundays.

One of our favorite pubs in Camberwell. The staff is super super nice and the Sunday roast is very good. We also celebrated here my sister's baby shower and it was very nice.

Very spacious and hip pub at an area where options are slightly limited imo. With lots of space, good quality food and an outside garden

Totally over priced Korean Burger and chips. Bun was like something out of a supermarket, and overcooked. The chicken was tiny. Really way too expensive. In the photo, it may look big, but it was gone in 2, 3 bites!

The pork roast was one of the best I've ever had. Couldn't fault the food at all. Great service, reasonably priced. What more do you want?!

Came here for a couple glasses of wine on a bank holiday Monday as some other pubs were shut. Nice and spacious with reasonably priced glasses of house wine. Heating was still on for some reason making it far too warm, but better than freezing. Were very good at signposting toilets when one was out of order that far.

Great pub serving good beer, wine and cocktails. They have gardens front and back, the rear one catching the afternoon sun so perfect for after-work refreshments. It can get very busy and they seem unable to cope - @SoC please get more staff at (predictably) busy times!

Simply atrocious. Dirty. Awful staff. Food took over an hour to come and was worse than bang average on arrival.

Very nice relaxing spot for Sunday roast. Loved all of the veggie sides that came with the roast and the pudding was also very nice. Overall good vibe and very friendly service. Would definitely recommend.

The food is extremely overpriced for very small portions - got Mac and cheese today and it cost £6 for literally four spoonfuls. Staff are lovely and the spacious garden area is really nice, but there isn't great value for money in terms of the food, so this place gets a miss from me.

A totally average pub - not a great selection on tap but bar staff were friendly and it's a good place to come with a large group. The food, however, is abysmal! The tiniest portions that take the mick for the prices, and it was, well, average!

Best place in Camberwell for a Roast. The vegetarian wellington tastes really nice and the vegetarian gravy is top. The sticky toffee pudding is unbelievably good, the best I’ve had anywhere. The service is excellent too, particularly in the restaurant bit. I made a last minute reservation to come for lunch today and the place was packed so we were sat at the last free table with high bar seating at the front. One of the staff spotted that my mom was struggling with the high seating as she has MS and she came over and told us she was going to sort it out and find us somewhere more appropriate. She conjured up a free table within a minute despite everywhere looking full and moved us without fuss. I always bring friends and family here when they want to go somewhere local. It can be noisy in the front section but if you can get a table in the back, it’s the best of all the pubs in Camberwell and Peckham for a properly good roast.

Great place, great atmosphere and the food is amazing

Had a sudden change in plans that meant we needed somewhere to meet friends for lunch at very short notice. They were very helpful, squeezing us in at midday on a busy Sunday, and it was genuinely one of the nicest roasts I have had. Lovely meat, crispy potatoes and a super range of beautifully cooked veg, all with a generous jug of gravy. Absolutely delicious! Quick and friendly service, too. Definitely recommend.

They forgot to take our order and then forgot to bring our drinks.The food took an age to arrive because the electricity was off. The portions were meagre and they didn't bring any Yorkshires. When we mentioned the lack of Yorkshires and asked for a discount they said we'd been given extra vegetables as the Yorkshires couldn't be made due to the lack of electricity. We said this didn't seem fair and four Yorkshires duly appeared after we'd finished our roasts. The server dropped one on his way to our table so we ended up with three Yorkshires. It was kinda funny at that point tbf. They kept apologising for the various fiascos and charged full price for everything.

Food was very tasty and a brilliant service. However, I had a very bad upset stomach for a few days after eating there. Unfortunately, will not be going back

I would highly recommend The sun , food amazing and really friendly staff was here today and the lovely Irish barman was extremely friendly and polite , I would give more then 5 stars if I could

Really lovely pub. Yummy food. I had the steak which I usually avoid in pubs but it was so good. Dessert wasn't bad either (crumble and custard) Nice spacious but homely vibe.

Had a roast today, my order was forgotten and then took a while to come out once I asked for it. Once it came the beef was pretty awful, overcooked (burnt) and very tough. I would’ve sent it back but just wanted to eat, the meat seemed so awful that I would’ve been embarrassed to give it to a customer. Wouldn’t come back again for the roast.

Nice Sunday Roast. Expected price for area. If cold need to avoid sitting near door to rear. Also to be avoided lunchtime if you don't want to be surrounded by noisy children. Very busy as lunch go into full swing. Not overly impressed with Apple Crumble was a bit dry with large apple chunks

Love it . First time here after passing by many years and so glad . Fresh tartar sauce was a super with the fish and chunky chips.

Booked for a Sunday roast and received a call 45 minutes before saying they had sold out of food…

The service was good until I found glass in the chicken burger!! Unfortunately I had to rush and couldn't get things sorted in time. I'm very disappointed in the end.

As a solo traveller, I had dinner here a couple of times. Even though the place was generally quite busy, I didn't need to wait much time for my food. Loved their gravy, which makes their bangers and mash a real winner. Also loved their potato and coleslaw salad. The music and decoration are quite good and I was attended by friendly staff every time.

Typical British pub with a young crowd. Nice food and a rather large tucked away outdoors seating area/garden at the back. Would come again.

Great atmosphere, probably on the younger side, with plenty of outdoor seating in the sun, suitably so. They’d run out of most food but I managed to get roast chicken which was very nice.

We went in for a cheeky drink. Lovely place and a nice vibe.

Larger pub near the hospital. Reasonable selection of beer but nothing outstanding. Found a table very easily.

NHS haunt full to the brim on a Friday. My regular if I want to do a large work drinks. Loads of space in the beer garden in the back

Great outdoor garden, lovely staff. Not sure why I never came to this pub before. Looks like it may be a good night out, and there are comfy chairs around a coffee table to ponder life in.

Our pitcher of Pimm's had very little alcohol or fruit. Felt like drinking an expensive jug of lemonade. However there is a nice beer garden and it is a pleasant pub.

Decent Camberwell pub. 3 cask beers on handpump when I last visited. Lots of outdoor seating at the front and in the large garden to the rear, some of it covered. I haven't eaten here but the menu includes classic pub food like fish and chips, bangers and mash and burgers together with more interesting offerings including vegetarian and vegan options.

Enjoyed a nice sunday roast with my family. Good service and food. Will go again

Unorganised. Extremely long waiting times. After 1 hour 40 minutes I ordered deliveroo and went home.

TURN YOUR MUSIC DOWN!!!!! Your screaming clientele and awful music going on until 2 in the morning is going to ruin another summer for your neighbours. I live at the other end of the street and can feel the bass. Ridiculous. Also by the way, it’s a terrible pub- overpriced, bad quality food, and they once tried to charge me £7 for a bottle of blue moon.

Advertised a “Eurovision party” that was non existent. One pitiful TV, which we couldn’t hear ANYTHING over people talking and shouting. Staff not helpful whatsoever. Surely the whole part of advertising the Eurovision is being able to hear the music…

I'm not generally a fan of chain pubs (particularly the chain beginning with W), but this venue is part of the Antic chain, a smallish London chain whose pubs do have a certain common feel about them, yet they have a great pub atmosphere and retain a good deal of individuality. Close to King's College Hospital and about five minutes walk from Denmark Hill Station, this place is well worth a visit. As well as a cracking pub atmosphere they have a great range of ales and an excellent food menu - not huge, but interesting options and the food is definitely a cut above standard pub grub and reasonably priced for London. We thoroughly enjoyed the Beef Short Rib (£16) followed by an excellent Sticky Toffee Pudding (£6). Despite some of the comments placed on this forum, we found the service to be excellent, although it should be said they were not very busy at the time.

Good food, nice staff, wide open space. Not busy on weekdays. Food is served till 8.

Could be a good pub - but it’s not. It’s got a nice vibe inside and outside, prices are decent etc. But unfortunately it’s got some very unfriendly staff who spend the whole time stomping around looking for problems and being generally miserable. I think maybe it’s because it’s so popular the staff think it’s okay to speak to you like you’re a literal piece of trash, but that’s just a theory.

It's a bar right next to King's college hospital, so you can be sure to find a lot of NHS staff there, especially of Friday night. Order a table if you plan to go with the group. The atmosphere is nice, although it was busy, I was served quite quickly, which is always nic. The pub has a nice garden at the back.

Good pub with atmosphere, but let down as 3 of the 5 ales were not available and the gents toilets were grubby.

Organised a surprise birthday dinner at the Sun. The whole booking process was super straightforward (unlike at some other places I'd inquired with before) even for our rather large group of people. Communication beforehand was fantastic, and the staff was really accommodating before and during the dinner. Solid pub food and a lovely atmosphere!

Great food and service. A great pub for an Easy session with mates, there is a beer garden out the back or a dinner for 2. Food was superb and very reasonable.

This is such a lovely place ! Friendly staff, amazing service, a constantly smiling and lovely manager called Adele. The food is very very nice and the portions are perfect . We went for Sunday roast and we will go back again as this is the kind of place you want to stay all day long and not just for a few hours . We were 4 people and we had Lamb, Chicken, Pork shoulder , pigs in blankets, cauliflower cheese, sticky toffee pudding, rhubarb and custard cream, and the bill was really low, so an incredible experience with great value for money ! Will definitely go back ! No pics of food as we were hungry and scoffed everything very fast hehe

A cool little pub, loved our time there on a bank holiday Sunday.

Hadn't been in this pub for thirty years. It's still got the same shabby chic look that almost every pub now has (guess it saves on decorating?). Still a hipster crowd, not the same one from my last visit, and on a Friday night it was incredibly noisy. Fortunately there's spaces outside that are quieter. The beer is good, a lot from local brewers and the service is fast. On a Friday night it's not my thing but it's very popular and highly recommend by the regulars.

Venue seemed lively and vibrant, service was prompt had to return my lunch 3 times as it was cold!! The waitresses then passed on to another waitresses!!! She wasn't professional The kitchen seems to have meals cooked then keeping them under the heat .

The sun is located just off Kings College Hospital, unfortunately it seems the NHS cuts have spread to the portion sizes of the food served, makes me think the pub is owned by a Tory.

Very fresh lettuce and crispy fries. Portions were good size and the place`s setting was fun. Staff was nice and fast. Would visit again.

Not only does it have a massive back garden but also a huge front garden. Perfect summer pub. Food is good and the people behind the bar are friendly.

Nice open plan pub. Clientel seemed very freindly too. I did a drawing group with Tatiania in the back room. That was excellent. Hopefully, I will return soon.

Elite boozer. Had 2 bdays here over the years. Excellent spaces, great staff and well kept beers. I suppose the only downside is that they are tied to Heineken so they can’t quite offer the same individuality through their taps, as they can through their vibe.
