I was disappointed that I could not have a gluten free sandwich for lunch. I requested a salad as an alaternative, clearly stating no vinaigrette, therefore I was surprised to find red onions that had been pickled, there is no mistaking the taste of vinegar. When questioned the staff checked with the kitchen, then adamently told me there wasn't any vinaigrette on the salad. They seemed unable to accept that the onion was pickled in vinegar and therfore I did not want it included in my salad. After this we ordered coffee. Two cafetiers appeared with only one cup. We waited about 10 minutes and then my aunt went to the bar to enquire where the other cup was and a latte. She saw that the waitress was then about to come over, so she did not say anything. When the waitress arrived she slammed the cups on the table and did the same with the card payment machine. My family and I felt this was extremly rude. Customer service skills need to be improved!!!

Lovely view, beers fine- bao bun very nice, goats cheese mousse & carrot salad was poorly executed- grit in the tops of the baby carrots, the goats cheese ‘mousse’ wasn’t a mousse it was just quenelles of claggy goats cheese. Pomegranate molasses dressing was lacking. 40 minute wait for a bao bun & salad - pretty slow service considering we ordered at 12:10.

We came in on a Sunday, looking forward to a classic roast — only to be told after we sat down that they’d run out. Not ideal, but we decided to give the burgers a try instead. Big mistake. What we got was honestly shocking. The patties were burnt, the cheese wasn’t even melted, and the buns hadn’t seen a toaster. Basic stuff, completely missed. It was the kind of meal that makes you wonder if there’s actually a chef in the kitchen — or just someone winging it with a microwave and a lighter. There’s no excuse for this kind of sloppy execution, especially on simple food. When you can’t even get a burger right, something’s seriously wrong. Won’t be back.

After driving past White Hart many times and admiring how beautiful the location is, we decided to try it. We booked our table well in advance to ensure we could get a table. We waited an hour and half after our table booking to get our table. Only then did we get our table after asking several times. We then waited an hour for our food after again prompting the staff. None of the staff came to our table to check everything was OK or take our drink order. We had to go to the bar to get our drinks. The food was very good, although not very hot. We were not offered anything in the way of compensation for our 3 hour wait. I was really looking forward to our meal here, but left, extremely disappointed.

Went for lunch on a Saturday. Pub was fairly busy but not crowded. Ordered main courses and had to wait almost an hour - not much food seemed to be coming out of the kitchen and other tables were also kept waiting. When my haddock dish finally arrived, the fish had clearly been kept warm and was completely dried out. The worst fish and chips I can remember having. I really should have sent it back, but by that time I desperately wanted something to eat! My wife's fish platter was so-so but poorly presented and with at least one component missing. The serving staff seemed embarrassed - no one checked that our meals were OK, asked if we wanted anything else or even cleared the table. In short, a dreadful experience: we live locally and won't be going there again.

Excellent food but service slow and unprofessional. Staff seem inexperienced and would benefit from training. Unfortunately the role of providing service is generally underrated in the UK hospitality sector. It makes the difference between an average and an exceptional experience.

The venue is ideal for catching up with friends which is main reason for choosing there. I find the lunch menu is rather different but think they try too hard to be different, think they would be better serving more traditional dishes and snacks. Find their prices rather top heavy but cannot fault the staff who are always friendly & make you welcome.

We popped in for a late lunch and ordered a club sandwich each. We couldn’t have been happier: it was made with REAL SOURDOUGH. It’s so unusual to find anywhere serving real bread, so 10/10 for that. My boyfriend and I had wonderful one night stay here, the pub is just off A12 so was very easily to find. We were welcomed by the pub’s friendly staff. Our room was clean and spacious with stunning countryside views. (Wow!) We enjoyed the wonderful scenery from the beer garden where had our evening meal. The pub is dog friendly so lots of dogs enjoying the beer garden too was brilliant. We would highly recommend staying here, especially with it being so close to many of Suffolk’s gems.

The room was well equipped, plenty of plug points. Loved waking up to see the sunrise. Room was in an outbuilding at back of property which made it quiet and ideal if you have dog (this particular room was dog friendly). While staying locally for a few days, we decided to venture out for an early light dinner. As we pulled in to the White Hart, we saw a notice advertising Moules Frites. To sum up, the service from start to finish was excellent, the moules were plentiful and, in my opinion, better than any I have had over many years of enjoying this dish all over France. Even the fries, dare I say, were the best ever. My wife also thoroughly enjoyed the smoked trout starter with a focaccia side. Sadly we live over 100 miles away otherwise this could easily become a Thursday night regular.

This pub is a real find. Its on a busy road but has a car park. Inside it is very welcoming with nice decor and a lovely open fire or two. We ate in the pub as there was a lively quiz taking place in the restaurant. Small menu which I am always encouraged by as it tends to be freshly cooked. We had the sausage and mustard mash which was comfort food at its best. A special of beef pie with bone marrow pastry and veg- rich, oozy and delicious and the Thursday special moules mariners with chips and sour dough again a real hit. Creme Brule with rhubarb was a nice light finish. Great service, attentive and friendly and a really lovely atmosphere. Good wines both by the bottle and glass and reasonably priced. HIGHLY recommended by us. Thank you for a lovely evening.

Booked a table at the White Hart in Blythburgh on Sunday 15th October online for 6 persons, at 2.30pm and no mention of card only payment. We prefer to use cash having been a victim of card fraud. The waitress said nothing. We ordered a variety of roasts and fish meals. All meals arrived on cold plates, which in turn made the meals cold quite quickly. The beef was chewy and we had to ask for sharp knives. Gravy was in short supply. Not a good meal. The restaurant/pub was very quiet throughout our time and for a Sunday lunchtime unusual. We finished our meals and left leaving cash plus a tip with the waitress. The waiting staff were attentive. As we walked towards our cars, the manager came out of the back of the pub almost screaming at us with the cash in his hands saying it was card only and threatened us with the police!! Being all over 70, we weren't going to do a runner as we had paid in cash, we didn’t see a problem nor did we have a card either, as previously stated. Begrudgingly he took the cash and we left. He claimed that all Adnams pub were card only, but we visited the Red Lion in Southwold during our week and the staff took cash or card, we paid in cash. Because of his actions we didn't go back and wouldnt recommend it for food or service.

Lovely bar meal and great staff. We had the ham,egg and chips together with the chicken supreme with mushroom sauce and chive mashed potato. Both meals we’re perfectly cooked and very tasty indeed. The beer was very good. Overall a lovely experience.

Service very good, friendly staff and pleasant decor. Most meals were very good indeed, but the 10 ounce (?) ribeye steak, at £32, was a big disappointment - grisly, very average, and over-priced. This apart, highly recommended.

This is a great pub now. Staff are friendly and helpful, food is tasty and plentiful and the ambience and view are wonderful. Also dog friendly so can’t ask for any more than that. 😊

What a transformation! I have known this pub for 38 years and I am afraid that for most of the last 37, despite its stunning location and delightful ancient beamed restaurant (complete with log fires), the food, ambience and service has been mediocre at best....

Very welcoming staff and log fire on a cold night. Good selection on tap and a variety of gins. We opted for the seafood platter to start. Wow. Impressive presentation, quality and quantity. If only we were local we'd be regulars! Mains were equally good....

Fabulous food and service. We had Blythburgh pork, which was cooked to perfection. We've eaten here several times and we've found it consistently excellent. Spotlessly clean, too. We feel that, out of all the local Adnams pub-restaurants, this is the best (though all the others...

Great location, and lovely big pub with gardens, very busy in the summer but food and drink were good and well priced for the area. Would recommend if you are looking for somewhere to stop on the A12

What a find!!!!!! This is a must visit if you are in the area on holiday, the staff were great, the food was outstanding. We both had Roast Beef, it was delicious beef that melted in your mouth, the roast potatoes, veg, yorkshire pudding, gravy, horseradish and parsnip crisps were all WOW! We were on a boat, booked a table in advance and given instructions on where to moor and then walk. From the River Waveney you can moor at Worlinhgam or North Cove (both free BA moorings), about 25-30min walk, just perfect, can't wait to return, thank you!

Good variety of food options on the menu and good quality food. Given the name of the establishment, we were slightly disappointed by the wine list, as it only had a relatively small selection from which to choose and the list itself was very poorly printed. They do however have a good range of cocktails, which were very nice. Seating upstairs much quieter than downstairs
