The White Hart in South Cambridgeshire

The landlord came to my friend's rescue, when she took refuge in the car park with a flat tyre. He went above and beyond the call of duty changing the tyre and pumping up the new one, all in the pouring rain. Sadly she couldn't stay to have a meal, but promised she'd come back.

Delicious lunch with a friend, reasonably priced and attentive staff. I often visit with my husband and friends late afternoon for drinks. There is a good selection of wines and whiskey . Tables are clean , staff friendly and a good atmosphere. I would highly recommend either for a casual drink or to eat.

Not great. Went there for a Sunday lunch today. Menu defo not the same as advertised on web site with only 4 choices for Sunday lunch. The veggie one was oyster mushrooms Sunday roast. Unusual combo and mushrooms were not good. To be fair my parents said the beef and ham were good. Also veg came in one small pot for the 4 of us. When I asked the waitress if that was it she said “if you want more just ask” to which I did at that point and we got another small pot. Young waitress friendly older one not so much. I would have complained but with elderly parents and did not want to spoil their day out. Real shame as we had all looked at menu before and were keen to go.

A great dissapointment Went here for lunch having looked at the website and the main menu only to discover that all that was available was the light bites menu, why dosnt the website say this isn’t available. Won’t be returning.,.

It was the first time I went with my friends and I was hosted so well. It was an incredibly fresh and wonderful atmosphere. It was amazing with homemade hot fudge cake and salt and caramel sauce. Tomahawk was incredible. I would like to recommend it to everyone. We will come again and again and again. And please do not go without a reservation because it was very crowded👇🏻

I didn’t want write my review! I felt bad! But reading other comments i agreed what customers said!! why I didn’t read the reviews before to visit this place!! I don't know where to begin to say it was a disaster! but the most unpleasant thing was being served by the owner with a long beard and with all the dandruff residue from his beard on his black t-shirt! the thing that ruined my appetite was seeing the owner's finger yellow from the nicotine from the cigarettes he served us and he went out to smoke continuously and then came back to serve us! the Sunday menu is truly poor! they served me a pepper soup which was full of skin the soup was not filtered and it was not served with bread I asked the waitress but without bread? in the end they served me the soup with a yorkshire pudding! the wine is the same one you find in Tesco for the price of 6 pounds and I paid almost 30 pounds! the cakes are not made by them, they were certainly bought from booker, long-life synthetic flavour! this pub won't stay open for long unfortunately there is a lot of competition in the restaurant world and especially if you are new management you have to be much better than your previous management and better than the competition!

No offence but… Considering the service was awful, the food was even worse I can’t lie. Maybe take this with a pinch of salt as they’ve just got new owners, but my fish was clearly any old frozen fish, same quality as a school fish if not worse, and they were somehow out of certain meals due to business, it was a somewhat quiet night at like 7pm? Also gave me about five chips, I’d have been hungry still if the fish didn’t make me feel ill. My families steaks seemed alright however and they had more chips. While also the staff were very friendly as a saving grace. ONE MORE THING, THE ONLY DESERT THEY HAD WAS A JAFFA CAKE DESERT? Weird, must’ve got it from the co op or something, oh well, I wish them all the best and am sure they just need a couple of months to find their feet, hoping to leave a great review in the near future.

Christmas Day is always a time for family, festivities, and of course, delicious food. This year, we decided to try something new and headed to the white hart under its exciting new management. We were pleasantly surprised, to say the least! From the moment we stepped in, the warm atmosphere and friendly welcome set the tone for an exceptional evening. We decided to return to the White Hart after new management took over for a 90th birthday treat. We had Sunday lunch and the food was excellent, with more on the plate than I could eat. Generally the service could be improved but waitresses were very friendly and welcoming. However they did sing happy birthday and gave us a complementary dessert when the waitress discovered that we had a birthday girl with us. It made her very pleased.

Sunday lunch under new management Starter: home made hummus and flatbread, very plentiful and tasty Mains: I had lamb chops- very delicious, best meal we had in Fulbourn village for the past 20 years. Service: this area needs improving. No one is very good at hosting customers. Need to be more friendly and cheerful. Hopefully over time they can improve on this. Overall- clearly the chef knows what his doing , but front house need more professional training.

We were given to understand that the pub was under new management - we had a look at the website prior to turning up, to get an idea of the menu, as we were going to be a bit short of time that evening. It looked inviting with a good choice of pizzas and a nice sounding sea bass dish. However, the menu was nothing like what was on the website, so it had obviously not been updated since the new owners had taken over. We were shown to our table by someone - we had no idea if he was a waiter or a kitchen hand - he had a filthy apron on (an immediate red flag moment). When I asked him how long the pub had been operating under new management, he said about 3 weeks. When questioned further about how it was going, he said there had been a few issues with poor service and problems with the previous owners!! To admit that to customers was very worrying and unprofessional. The meals were average at best. I would not bother going back - disappointing...

Went for a meal - on arrival was shown a table - not the best as near a draughty door as people entered and left, despite being quite empty there were other better choices available. Then we waited and waited - the bar was not busy and the staff not particularly rushed. 20 mins later it had become very obvious that we had been forgotten about to have our order taken, that was confirmed by the waiter. When seated was told what was not available on the menu, thus we ordered a pizza and another item. Waiter came back 5 mins later - no pizzas available as they had run out As the menu was already depleted and our drinks had not been delivered we chose to leave . This place has potential but if this is the standard service it is well below par and could do a lot better.

A real mixture of experiences. Spent 5 nights to visit Cambridge and Duxford for our Wedding Anniversary. Staff were friendly. Had 2 Meals in the restaurant which were good and the bar and restaurant was attractive. Parking Free B&B. Breakfast was only cooked which is something we rarely have and didn’t really want 5 days running. No cereals, yoghurt or fruit option which would have been cheaper to supply. Accommodations. We had the large double, bedroom I would say was small but the bathroom large with a large shower area. Both rooms had a lot of dust over the furniture and skirting board, needed some TLC. The radiator in the bathroom couldn’t be put on hence the towels stayed damp and cold.The weather did turn cold and we asked the lady at the bar if the heating could put on and she said she would get someone to look at it but nothing happened. We found a small fan heater which wasn’t sufficient and ended up wearing tee shirts in bed and piled our coats on top. Shivered in the bathroom. There was an outside metal staircase up to the accommodation which needed the light at the top to work at night especially in the rain Not the best Anniversary we have had. It’s a shame because with more care this could have been a really nice venue and cost of the improvements would be minimal

Just visited for a Sunday roast for my father in laws birthday. Chose this pub as we used to come here years ago and we always really enjoyed the atmosphere and food was always excellent. Pub itself is still lovely and atmosphere and decor is really nice, waitress was very pleasant and took our order quickly. We ordered two roast pork and a roast beef. At £15.95 and £16.95 respectively it is quite pricey but probably on par with todays prices. We had a side of cauliflower cheese at £4. Meals came out quickly and the pork dinners were pork medallions so not from a pork roast, beef was pale, chewy and looked like it came from a packet, roast potatoes were not roasted, Yorkshire pudding was oily and soggy, veg was carrots, cabbage and courgette which looked pre packed. Cauliflower cheese went back as was cold came back out after being microwaved but still not edible. This was probably our worst roast dinner in a pub and will not be returning. Refused to pay for cauliflower cheese and we were very unhappy to pay in full for something only worth half the price, but we did. Obviously this is just our opinion but they seriously need to get fresh meat joints and fresh vegetables.

We booked for two nights stay at this pub,the greeting we got on arrival was name how you paying!!the room we were allocated was about 7ft by 10ft,being a ex prison officer i have seen bigger cells!!the so called double bed,was more like a large single and filled the grotty room,the so called flat screen tv (14 inch) was on top of a wardrobe and impossible to see ,without breaking your neck,the basin in the so called ensuite was the smallest i have ever seen,Who ever did the photos of this pub certainly knew who to enchance,the shots,of this run down so called country pub,witch is right on a major road junction,with heavy traffic passing by.Breakfast consists a cooked english breakfast ,and nothing else,I have never ever stopped at a hotel or B&B where there were no cereals ect on the menu.Needless to say i let the land lord know my views on these matters.but his attitude was one of tough thats it.We left after only one nights stay.This pub is nothing like it is described,i what not recommend staying here!!!
