One of my favourite spots. The fact that you can play your own music makes it a wao..... Friendly service and always a good laugh. I recommend👍👍👍💯

Terrible. Only food were nasty sandwiches. I went to the back of the pub hoping to find somewhere quiet as I had a couple of hours before my coach to Cardiff. It was deafening in there and then someone came and put the tv on right above my head so I had deafening music and a tv. I quickly left and sat outside in the street. Never again!!

Came to visit the pub whilst waiting for my coach back to London, and I have to say that it was a wonderful visit. Lauren is a lovely lady who welcomed me with a smile, and has a positive attitude. Thank you Lauren for your amazing hospitality. Will definitely come back.

My advice: avoid this place and go somewhere else –even if it is next to the coach & bus station. We went to enjoy the evening watching the football final, but it ended with the landlords arguing with young adults. They weren’t doing anything wrong; they just hadn’t had time to buy a new drink. One landlord decided to call the police while the other argued with them for at least 30 minutes. The atmosphere was uncomfortable. It felt like we were being watched to ensure we bought enough drinks. As a customer who simply wanted a relaxed and fun night of football, it ended up being an awkward experience. I just wanted to leave. Everyone looked at each other, wondering how such a ridiculous scenario was unfolding. Never going there again.

Always a friendly welcome. Sadly you do get the odd oddball in there.

Never thought that a pub would have rude staff and costumers horrible experience rude servers bad environment first step I took into this place make he feel judged and unwelcome place was dirty and had a fowl Oder that you can smell from outside if I where you I would not waste you time coming here nice area hope they improve because this was awful and very much disappointing

Had a family get-together last Saturday,23 people including children and were looked after very well.The buffet was excellent ,fresh and delicious and catered for everyone's requirements.I personally love the pulled pork sliders and mini yorkies with beef and horseradish.The sausage rolls were also very popular.The children loved the play area abd we had good weather as well.Everyone had a great time and we hope to repeat the experience next year

Drank in this pub since 76, ..... Seen Landlords come and go. Some were good and Some were bad, But Donna has a glow. The decor has remained unchanged,...... A proper British pub, And if your peckish, take a stab, enjoy the tasty grub. The clientele is nicely mixed, coach station round the bend, They come and go for Bristol's sights, To catch the latest trend. Most are friendly, Some are shy, ... We welcome one and all, They soon relax, Enjoy their time, Sat comfy on a stool. The cultured custom makes good sense, They've travelled from afar, But here's the rub, They all come back, To our delightful bar. The banter is a joy to share, The windups thick and thin, Delivered with such grace and style, and sure to make you grin. The locals are a funny bunch, mindful of their pelvis,.... They dance so bad but not their fault, for someone's playing Elvis. Their collars raised and sideburns shown, some even sport a quiff. I educate them straight away, we all know there's one "Cliff" !!! So when in town don't pass us by, pop in and say hello, But check the time for your next coach, Cus you won't want to go !!!!

Can’t fault the two young ladies behind the bar, very helpful and welcoming. Unfortunately the food did not live up to the menu. Starter of squid, overdone. Sword fish overdone, very dry. Lamb shank, couldn’t taste anything but the red wine jus as it was so strong (food was swimming in it). The menu is so vast maybe they need to reduce it and do fewer things better.

Lovely pub good staff good if eclectic music. A locals pub but friendly. It can be a bit loud at times (Cheltenham festival). I don't know what the food is like as I only go there for a few drinks after work.

Pub full of tools, rob who sounds like Jimmy Savile is a tool and they should just bar him , total bell . And I heard the funniest quotes…. I wanted to be an astro physicist but decided to work in a warehouse and the best one ever . I have always wanted to go to Memphis but i went to Butlins instead…. Enough said. Bar lady needs a medal she is great, beers are nice , would be a great place without Jimmy savile (Rob) will be back if you bar him

Nice local pub away from the busy streets. Good selection of beer and snacks. Unfortunalty not able to eat as no chef, but nice place for a quiet pint.

Nice local pub, quite quiet as we visited late one evening between Christmas and New Year but constantly people in and out. Always looks busy so will definitely visit again

The owner/landlord/whatever told our large group to "buy a drink or [f] off" calling us all freeloaders despite having arrived 2 minutes beforehand and one person having bought a drink and the majority of us planning to buy a drink anyway while we waited for our bus. There was no polite interaction at all, he just immediately started being on the offensive and told us all to leave with some colourful language thrown in, and so we all left on the spot without buying any of the drinks we went in there to buy. Most of the other critical reviews about this pub seem to be in roughly the same vein so I doubt anything constructive will happen as a result of this review but the only thing I can say is don't go to this pub if you want any kind of good atmosphere, I don't think I could recommend a place less. He made us all feel unsafe and uncomfortable despite being there for less than 5 minutes. I imagine this is a fairly common occurrence as his mates and the staff just sat there either doing nothing or agreeing while he spoke. Go to the Bay Horse instead if you value your experience at a pub.

Very friendly staff and customers.

Found myself here with four hours to kill due to the rail strikes and a long wait til the next available bus. Staff were pleasant and helpful, had some enjoyable random chat with locals/ regulars. Had a few pints of a locally brewed pale ale that was in good condition and reasonably priced for the location. Saying that, if I wasn't absolutely shattered from a long journey and carrying heavy bags I'd probably have headed up the road into Stokes Croft and found somewhere a bit more vibey.

Fine traditional pub, character building and good selection of ales. Perfect location for the bus station.

Was stranded in Bristol, fella with the long blond hair was very friendly and accommodating and let me use the socket, which allowed me to get a coach ticket home. Also very nice pricing. And very comfortable environment. Would recommend to anyone in the area.

Only stopped in for a few between our flight and our coach back to Leeds but everyone, staff and regulars, was so welcoming and friendly. Guinness was top notch! Would absolutely return if I'm ever in Bristol again

Don't ever go into this pub. The landlord thinks that he's some kind of pony tailed hard case who should be in a psychiatric unit not running a pub. The 3 regulars that were already there were also threatening as if the landlord would turn a blind eye to their conduct. STAY AWAY. Go over the road to the Bay Horse. Dougie must be turning in his grave ( the landlord 35 years ago).

Great bar. We came after an awful day when our visas were refused. Food was good, service great. We participated in the quiz, came second- no shame. Would return if we were in the area.

Horrible. Upon entering repulsive strong smell of skunk from one or more of the customers, I'm pretty sure the bar staff know the problem customer(s) responsible yet probably won't bar them. Added to that not much choice of beers compared to other pubs in the vicinity and the Dry Blackthorn I had was flatter than a Swiss lawyers sense of humour. Only plus to this place is its next to the bus station if you're going anywhere. If you must have a drink whilst waiting for a bus or coach do yourself a favour and go in the Bay Horse over the road. Better on every measurable level.

Unattentive staff. Dirty toilets and overpriced

A very rude woman in the bar. We just asked to use the toilet kindly and didn’t let us in. Stare at us from the first second we entered the bar. Not a place I would recommend at least for the service.

Quite small. Quite quiet around lunchtime. Just some old boy regulars. Bar man was nice and chatty. Not been at night but I hear it has a reputation as not being the safest place to go.

Nice pub, friendly staff, reasonably priced. As im a tourist, they were really nice and told me what needs to be visited in my short time here. Visited this place again in the morning before I left, breakfast was lovely. Cooked brekky and a pint for just over a tenner, can't go wrong. Will be back again for sure 👍

My experience was an old fashioned pub with a warm atmosphere. It's got an history running back a few hundred years. The people who run it says that it's haunted in the old cellar below. The pub got 3 levels which you step up 3 steps a time. The pub meal is reasonable price wise with a family atmosphere.

My wife and I live in Caerphilly, but we've been visiting my mum in the BRI for several months and we've had a drink in the White Hart on several occasions. We've always been impressed by the look of the food as its passed our table en route to customers who have ordered. Today we ordered a beef Sunday dinner, and I can honestly say it was one of the best pub dinners we've ever had. The cauliflower au gratin was definitely the best and the range of vegetables with the meal was impressive. Lovely meal, superb service which delivered it to the table hot, and we will definitely eat here again! Superb!
