Food looks ok but dear. Out priced their predecessor. Town prices which is depressing and they don't do cash which upsets me no end. Disappointing. It's a lovely spot now. But it's an easy swerve. Hmmm

Recently came here with a group of 18. Such a nice location, the outdoor and indoor seating areas are lovely and spacious! Its been nicely renovated. The food was really good, such nice small tapas dishes and really fair pricing! It also opens really late should you wish to hang around for more drinks! Highly reccomend a visit.

Took a friend here on his birthday to have a Sunday dinner but despite saying that it served British traditional pub grub it does nothing of the sort. We had a pint of cider each (£4.95 a pint) and I would love somebody to explain what 'Colosseum' cider is or by what manufacturer but we had our one pint and it wasn't good so we went over to The Ship for Thatchers at £3.70 a pint.Never again.

I visited The Colosseum for the first time on Saturday 11th May with 2 friends. It was great. We had 9 different dishes from the menu. All the food was delicious, lovely fresh flavours served nice a hot. We enjoyed a bottle of prosecco which was fresh and crisp. Perfect for a warm evening. All the staff were friendly and welcoming. The old colosseum was a jewel in the crown of British and Bristolean pub culture. The new colosseum is an insult to the memory of its former glory, to its former punters and to good times in general. Avoid. Throw an uno reverse card at this renovation and give us back our fallen cathedral of great vibes.

Food was nice but we were told off several times for bizarre things. Opening a birthday present which was a bottle of wine I was told to “put it away” quite rudely?? My mates were told off again, quite rudely for sitting on a step outside?? Had hoped new ownership would have made it more welcoming but the overzealous security made it quite unpleasant.

Recently renovated this pub is now open plan with big doors onto a sheltered outside area. Beer choices are good, food is small plates, well priced and beautifully thought out to go perfectly with beer or cocktails. The cocktails look impressive and I saw some being made with great care and attention. Food is from about £4.50 a plate, my beer was £6 I think and cocktails £12 or thereabouts. I was very pleased to see a ladies toilet too. I don't feel safe in gender neutral ones.

Popped in for an impromptu drink and snack on the way back to the car yesterday. I never frequented the old pub so nothing to compare for me. It's new owners are still finding their feet but are very attentive and keen for feedback. It was super quiet but I liked the decor with it's reclaimed sports hall floor. The toilets were nicely tiled and very clean. We had the Jubel to drink which was really good and ordered halloumi and veg skewers and some wings. Both were fresh and tasty and the wings had a good spice kick. It is very convenient for our office although not currently open on a weekday lunch, I will definitely hope for a speedy lunchtime drink at lunch in the future though when they open more and the terrace will be nice in summer 🌞

Personally its not for me. Miss the old colly :( its lost its soul. It may not have looked the best but it had so many lovely characters and the layout gave everyone so much more privacy. Great range of kegged beer including local favourite breweries, diverse cocktail offering and simply delicious small plate menu that kept us rooted to our table for hours..! Very reasonably priced considering the quality on show, with other more expensive options if you’re deserving of a treat :) Friendly team and I’m glad to see an independent business bustling with life, long may it continue. Feeling very blessed to have this gem a stones throw from the centre and on my route to and from town, especially with a late license and stunning outside area ready for warmer days - would highly recommend and will defo be back!

We loved the old colosseum, full of character and lovely people. Initially I was pleased that it was staying open as a venue and 'saved' but the reopening has been a let down. Entering with high hopes to the iconic venue, impressions are that It looks homogeneous, pretentious and lacks character - seems too fussy and geared towards the after work crowd. Maybe this is what has to happen to venues for them to stay open, but if so - big shame. Constructive criticism- should have been kept in the spirit of the last place, at least get a pool table if this is a 'dive bar'! Feels like whoever dreamt it up lacks imagination (like an indie slug and lettuce?) 2 out of 5 because the larger was under a 5er

went to the pub with two service users for a few games of pool as the socialisation is great for their mental health and wellbeing. one service user had bought a drink and we had already paid for the game of pool. rude bar lady told us this isnt a social club and said we all need a drink. the pub was empty apart from us and i explained to her this and how we always used to come here for a few games and we have already paid for the game. the rude bartender said “well i guess you’ll have to finish this game and then leave”. i asked if i also bought a drink (2/3 of us would have a beverage) would we be able to stay for a few games. she said no and then started whispering about us to the other worker. extremely rude disgusting behaviour, will not be going back. old managers were way nicer.

Best hop to it if you want to visit the cheapest pub in Bristol City Centre. It'll be closing soon as the owners are selling up. No real ale but dart boards and pool tables and 2 pints of Jewel nitrokeg less than £7. Kronenbourg just over £4 a pint. Decor is reminiscent of a Butlins from 1989 but toilets are clean and there's a nice view of the church one side and a bit of the harbour the other. I'll be sad to see the place go. It's a lot cheaper than the hotel next door.

We managed to get roasts just in time, but they took a further 90 minutes(!) to arrive. Staff are generally very slow, and it feels very much like a 'locals' pub'. Main positive is the low prices, but I'd still unlikely to return.
