The Wheel Inn pub and restaurant, etchingham in Wealden

We eat Sunday Roast out a lot and recently have been disappointed at the places we have tried in Brighton. Went our for a drive today and ended up at The Wheel, Etchingham. Highy recommend. Top notch. Fresh. Delicious. I had chicken, husband three meat and others vegetarian. Very friendly people. Polite. Good price. Highly recommend.

My wife and I visited the Wheel for the first time since the new owners took over and we were delighted with our meal. Tasty, freshly cooked food and served by a friendly young waiter. We are looking forward to our next visit.

The Wheel Inn is a local pub, I come here a lot, the staff are very friendly and great food. Highly recommended!!

We have eaten here a number of times and the food has been great every time. Generous portions! There's always a friendly welcome and good service, the bar area is dog friendly. There is a nice garden with seating at the rear of the pub. Our most recent visit was on a Friday evening and the food was delicious. Highly recommended.

Both the garden and the interior of this pub are delightful with a great atmosphere. The meals are really good and the portions are enormous! Excellent for those with a large appetite.

Hebben daar een avondmaaltijd gegeten. Inrichting erg Engels zoals wij graag wilden, het personeel bijzonder attent en vriendelijk. Het eten was erg goed, ook de presentatie. Het enige minpuntje, we moesten erg lang wachten, maar daar is meerdere malen een verontschuldiging voor gemaakt en het was het wachten zeker waard.

We had light bites because the main courses looked huge. The food is very good and certainly value for money given the size of the portions. The staff are really friendly and welcoming and can't do enough to make your visit a very pleasant one.

Very friedly stuff, excellent meal! The dining room is separately from the pub and has a nice interiour.

Went here with my wife for an evening meal; we were touring the area over a weekend. The food is pub grub and comes in hearty portions. The quality was reasonable, but nothing exciting. The service was slow and patchy, and at the end of the meal they tried to over-charge us for the wine, which left a bad taste. They have no competition for miles around, but our slightly disappointing experience meant we stayed in the B&B on the second night rather than go there again!

First went here with national trust on their lunch for volunteers and was very impressed with food, welcome , organisation and ambience . Had not long reopened , but was already showing great promise. Have called several times since , including Valentine's in February and much more recently , and is always consistently good . Next visit in two days time . Can't wait!

De ruime parking werkt uitnodigend en we werken goed onthaald door het jonge personeel. Vlotte en correcte bediening in een typische engelse sfeer. We hebben gekozen voor de dagschotel (kip) tegen een correcte prijs. Op zich was er nergens iets op aan te merken.

A great pub for lunch. The food is excellent and the staff very friendly. Plenty of car parking and a very nice outside garden area, part of which is covered. A great range of burgers are available which they will cook to order i.e. much better than the usual H&S excused 'over done'. Although not obvious from the menu, they do have skinny fries :-)

I have been three times in the last month with famil or friends. The food and service have been consistently good and the welcome friendly. The pub is nicely laid out and the restaurant area tastefully decorated. Altogether an excellent experience.

The food here is first class, the staff are friendly and efficient and managers Kelly and Jack have really turned this into a superb experience.

This pub is a few minutes walk from my parents house so I have been visiting it for many years. It has always been quite average but a new landlord acquired the pub recently and I'm delighted to say they have transformed the place into an excellent, friendly, well-run establishment. I visited twice during a recent stay with my parents and on both occasions the service was super and the food absolutely delicious. Also very family friendly. Glad they haven't changed the decor too much though - that large inglenook fireplace is a beauty!

Lovely comfortable pub with a good ambience, separate dining area if you prefer to eat away from the bar area. Varied menu ranging from bar food to other dishes if you prefer something a little more up market, very reasonable to.

A Pub/Restaurant reopened with new owners after a prolonged closure. If it continues on its present course, booking a table will become essential !

Improved immensely of late, this will become a regular I think. My wife and I had a lovely dinner in here and it is reasonably priced too.Goos atmosphere, good staff, nice food and good value, couldn't ask for anymore than that really.

Roast dinner was yummy & the coffee too.Also crisps & homemade humous before meal was very nice. Lovely friendly staff as well. Didn't have to wait long for food either :)Enjoyed my first visit. I will be coming here again.

Driven past this pub many times today we stop and called in what a little gem.Very good atmosphere food was very good Kayla who was behind the bar was very friendly and pleasant to talk to.We have book for a meal this weekend looking forward to a relaxing meal with my friends,this is a pud not to driver past.

It's so good to see The Wheel up and running again. Good beers and very nice food, great variety and competitively priced. Very impressed.

Pleasant pub on the main road, child friendly, tasty food, good value. Would go back again. Ladies toilet was very clean, always a plus.
