We had not been to The Wheel for quite a while so decided to walk up and have tea. This is a lovely, old school traditional pub. The food was really good. The menu is exactly as you'd expect from a decent pub. Nothing fancy, no pages and pages to read through so you can't see the wood for the trees, just a good menu of real food at excellent prices. My husband had the lamb shank in red wine special and I had scampi. Portions were a good size and we both really enjoyed it. As it is such excellent value I am sure we will be back.

Amazing food, very reasonably priced, friendly staff. The fish and chips, chicken nuggets, steak pie and chicken with leeks in stilton sauce are delicious! We will be back!

Well they spared no expensive at charm school! Endons Btec Karen's Diner. The food itself was ok apart from the Lamb Shank wouldn't fill a chihuahua, I have seen more meat on a vegan lunch. I wouldn't recommend going to The Wheel unless you want to step back in time and like Faulty Towers.

Great no nonsense British food (which is hard to find nowadays). One of the best steak pies I've had and my partner had a lovely vegetarian bake too. Great friendly local atmosphere. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

A traditional british pub with great music, food and a really friendly local atmosphere. Thoroughly enjoyed and will definitely be returning:) Went to to celebrate my dads birthday so would definitely recommend for birthday celebrations, the food had great portions and was very inexpensive but was absolutely delicious. Definitely worth the visit.

Visited with friends on Sunday. Never been before but can’t believe we’ve driven past it & never been in. Lovely cosy pub with hearty pub grub & the landlord took time to have a good chat with us. Lots of parking & brilliant value for money. Definitely be returning!

Lunchtime visit with friends. Very impressed. Service was excellent, friendly and efficient. Room warm and interesting. The menu was good, traditional fare and a good deal better value than we've found lately. All our meals were good. Hope the owners appreciate the lady on duty, couldn't have been better!

We visited here recently for dinner and I must admit, I was surprised to walk in and find the place was deserted. We were the only ones in there throughout our stay. The barmaid was lovely and the food was alright. The chips were great but the chicken in my dish was pretty tough and the cheesy sauce wasn't as cheesy as I would've expected.

Cracking little pub. We had the dog with us and stopped here for some food after a walk around deep hayes country park. We sat outside and it was lovely. Food was fantastic. Couldn’t fault any of it. Best pint of Bass I’ve had anywhere. Landlord was a lovely chap. Will definitely be back soon!

Very hostile and unfriendly. 'Greeted' by an incredibly grumpy publican who told us to take our bottle of water outside before we could even opened our mouths to order a drink. Welcome to Stoke eh! Absolutely bizarre.

Visited a couple of weeks ago for dinner with friends. It was quite busy when we arrived but went very quiet after about 9pm. This is a traditional pub with proper pub food at reasonable prices. There's a really good choice on the menu, especially for vegetarians, & the drinks were reasonably priced too. Service was pleasant & efficient & all the food arrived piping hot . Can't fault our experience. The last time I was here was during the 1980s, but I won't leave it as long again!

Visited with my partner, we took a drive out to find a pub that does homecooked food and boy did we find it, a small and very busy pub, we just managed to squeeze in the corner, i had Lamb shank with homemade chips, peas, carrots and a mint gravy, my partner had a chicken curry, it was delicious, reasonably priced and the staff were lovely too. Will most definitely be returning here, very very tasty food.

Went for breakfast, coffee machine broken so ended up with a cup of Tea Ordered 2 breakfasts and nice but helpings are getting smaller every time we go. Cake slices have gone very stingy and not much filling. But the carry on charging the same if not more. Did a bit of store shopping but prices high so shopping limited. Disappointed that this store have no charging facilities for electric cars etc. I cannot believe that we are in the year 2024 where Sainsbury's is advertising renewable energy and doing it's bit contributing towards saving the planet. But WHY has it not got EV Charging point a massive store with no facility to charge your cars.i fing This not only unbelievable but disgusting that a super sized store that been built a few years ago and would have had plenty of time to install chargers. I think I'll be shopping at Morrisons in leek at least they have chargers

Last minute booking for tapas night on a Thursday. The pub was very busy, but that didn't affect the service. Food was served as quick as could be and was delicious. Will be booking again

Service is very slow. Fish and chips mediocre. Chips were salty and underdone and tepid but didn't complain as no one came to check and we waited about 45 mins for the food. One fish was good the other was hard at the end. Mini puddings and tea were nice and server was friendly. Also thought expensive but you can get lunch deals but not on Friday when we went. Ambience is nice but we won't return.

Went to the winking man over the weekend met lovely staff great food and amazing management! Staff were very welcoming and fast service. Also noticed some campervans parked up some had electrical hookups so you can park here over night for a small fee but get 10% off your food and drink amazing!
