Went in today by chance with my partner, so glad I did , I got a great pepperoni pizza and had a good interaction with the pizza chef ste, great energy , beer was good and bar staff also very good, would recommend

Good value for money but don't buy the spaghetti bollonaise kids meal you get about 2 table spoon s of spaghetti and all I can describe as a weak thin gravy with minnute pin head size i guess meat ? All the answers were from staff we pointed out how disappointed it was . Well, it is the recommended calorie portion for a child other than that food was OK just re.ember at these pri es you are.not getting food prepared there there all bought in and ping meals the chicken and mushroom pie was very tasty but the top of the pie was like a concrete roof it was that hard

The staff here are great and always helpful efficient and very friendly. This used to be waiter service up until a few weeks ago. It's chaos now having to order at the bar. Queues are not orderly and can wait ages to be served. It's a shame staff moral has taken a bashing . The once happy and cheerful staff look so tired and flat. Think they have lost staff also. Thinking of going somewhere else for my weekly tea

Absolutely love it here! We come here almost weekly for a roast, burger or tapas. The food is gorgeous and even get treated to our very own custom made nacho cheese gravy (introduced to us by the owner) Highly recommend.

Really nice pub and good food at good prices too. Some good old classics on the menu and the food we had was really nice and had that great grill smell on it. The pub was only let down by so many people smoking around the doors. The staff working when we visited were really good and helpful. A good pub and really well worth going. Car park is a bit small though so very hard to park at times and don't forget to check in with your registration number when entering else risk a big fine!

Come here at least 1ce a week, great service lovely clean establishment. Welcome dogs with cuddles and treats. Love coming here. Massive garden for the summer and for the kiddys to play in.

Went in for a coffee with a client and they gave me a parking ticket. From previous comments they've said phone them to dispute but they haven't answered the phone for weeks and show no sign of doing so. Disgraceful way to treat customers, won't be going back there again.

Had a fantastic meal, food excellent as normal and fantastic service. Special mention to Sha who always goes out of his way to make your experience comfortable and relaxed and nothing is ever too much trouble, he is an asset to your company and would highly recommend to friends and family

Mark was a brilliant supervisor, he went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and the food was really well cooked and very good value.

Amazing food, fabulous service. Would be 5 stars if we didn’t have a bad mannered and rude couple sitting next to us. Made me very uncomfortable and by the time my meal came I would have rather left. We ate, asked for the bill, paid and left straight away. Aside from this it was a lovely, clean restaurant 👍🏻 friendly, hospitable staff.

I had a mixed grill for some reason served on a fajitas plate Got given a 5oz steak instead of an 8oz which arrived medium when it was supposed to be rare, gammon stripped of it's fat , tiny bowl of fries , and all the food at the table came out at different times , the girls had Currys and they were missing poppadoms, and when did get them they were chewy , - worst place I've been too in ages, waiters have no clue what they are serving, trying to tell me a clear vinaigrette was balsamic and a steak the size of a chip is 8oz. Useless place and the last sizzling IL ever be going 2 - embarrassing

I visited The Whatsheaf a couple of weeks ago with a friend and I was so impressed that I decided to return and bring my wife for a meal before attending the Lanterns Light show at Chester Zoo. I cannot complain about anything. The chefs really know how to cook a steak, and the meat is top quality. My wife was more than happy with her fish and chips. The pub has a nice warm vibe to it, it is clean and comfortable. I would definately recommend The Wheatsheaf to friends to visit if they are in the area. We are actually from Northwich.

I made the mistake of ordering online and going to another restaurant. I arrived at the correct Sizzling restaurant and the manager served me promptly, very polite and efficient. I would like to thank and congratulate her and the staff!!!

I had the chicken gyros & it was lovely. My partner had the burger & chips, he has had this at the Wheatsheaf previously & enjoyed it, however last night, apart from the outside edge, the burger was cold and red. The server asked us after she had put it down we were enjoying our meal, he told her and showed her the burger, he was offered a replacement, but as we did not have time to wait for another one to be cooked, nor did he want to be eating individually as I had done, we declined this.

Goodness, it was like going back in time with the prices of the food and drink, very reasonable and the food was very very good. For a cheap out you can't go wrong. The menu was awesome, so many fantastic options, the restaurant and bar area was really pleasant after recent refurb, some local pubs should look at how this place is run, they could learn something, I will be back and it's miles from where I live. Exceptional! Remember to add your car registration, you could get fined! My only gripe!

Visited the Wheatsheaf inn yesterday. And the meal was fabulous. And yes, sizzling hot. We have visited a few of these pubs over the past few months, and there appears to be a lot of variation in how the meals are cooked and presented. Some sizzle but a lot don't, and skin chips replaced with plain frozen chips But I'm glad to say the meal we had yesterday was really nice. It's just a shame that we don't live closer to this venue. But we will call again when in the area. Would fully recommend the Wheatsheaf and its staff.

Best experience I’ve had in a hot minute!! Our server, Jess, was very attentive and made sure we were well taken care of. Such a lovely girl! Girl deserves a raise if you ask me. On that note the entire staff were all brilliant! A five star business!!!!!

We popped in for a table of seven people they couldn't seat us straight away we was glad they told instead of keeping us hanging on the place was packed so must be worth a try we will definitely try there next time we go zoo

The refurb has been done really well, inside and outside looks great. The food is better quality too and is good value for money. The starters make a great tapas, if you fancy a snack. The curry ultimate feast was fantastic as a very filling main meal. The rib and rump is also very tasty and cooked to.perfection. Dogs are now welcome in the bar area, which is a huge bonus.

Had a lovely meal in here last night, served by a lovely lady called Mya (hope i got the spelling correct) she could not do enough for us, polite and professional. The food was absolutely delicious, we tried the tandoori chicken and beef rib sizzlers, hunters chicken and the sirloin steak. The apple pie was to die for !! we also tried the pimp my brownie and the profiterole sundae. I was very impressed by the decor, surroundings, atmostphere, staff and food, well done and thank you, we will definitely be back!!

This was our local Booked this for my Birthday meal with my toddler and friends Arrived 20 mins early so went to the bar to grab drinks Only to be informed by the man serving ‘children can’t be in the bar area’ so where do you sit if you want drinks as we are early for our table his response was ‘well kids can only be in the pub if you’ve booked a table ‘ which we had but we was early so where do we wait ‘ well it should be ready but kids can’t be in the bar area!’ Got seated and then the app wasn’t working unless you went outside for signal as WiFi system you’ve gotta sign up for Sky WiFi now System was then down again informed by the man at the bar and discount code not working via the app The host also repeated that children can’t be in the bar area So if you’ve not booked a table children can’t be in there with you. We’ve been going there for years and never had issues before But since refurb new management etc clearly this is not a pub for little ones / family’s with young children If it was not for my birthday I would of walked out Honestly was shocked with the service and their lack of customer service and the tone used toward customers. once food finally arrived no check backs, we eat and left Very unhappy birthday to me Not likely to go again

Went for lunch today. 1st time here since about 2008,when it was awful and I said I would never visit again. Anyway as it has recently been given a makeover ,and new management,I decided to give it a try again. Wow, extremely impressed . Excellent service very good food excellent prices,nice atmosphere, nice decor. Just 1 criticism, the music was a little too loud for us. Definitely will be going again very soon. Thanks

Visited The Wheatsheaf after a trip to nearby Chester Zoo. Food was fantastic - freshly cooked to perfection, piping hot and served quickly. All 4 of us enjoyed our meals immensely. My coffee was delicious, much better than the one I had at the Zoo and not overpriced. The service was just great, staff were genuinely friendly, helpful and attentive even bringing crayons for my daughter to do some colouring in while she waited. The pub was very well maintained, tidy and clean. Highly recommended, thank you.

Great evening at the Wheatsheaf for a colleague's leaving do. Food was excellent and well priced. Stayed for a fun quiz as well.

Ordered takeaway whilst on lunch Got back to the office, and there were several items missing from the order. The burgers were wrapped in a foil/paper material, which led to the steam/condensation pooling at the bottom making the bun soggy/wet. 2 of the team who ordered the food had bad stomachs later on in the evening. Overall disappointed, won't be rushing back to order from here.

Hadn't been here for a while, used to go regularly... however we had an awful meal so said wouldn't go again. Decided to give it another go today and must say I'm happy we did. Food was beautiful, piping hot, great fast service.... The place was extremely clean and looked very nice with all the decorations.... Staff were nice, pleasant and helpful... Price's are reasonable. We didn't have reservations but got seated straight away.... It was nice and warm inside as well..... Very happy would definitely recommend

Generally a nice environment after recent refurbishment, service was good, staff helpful and pleasant. The food whilst tasty and of good quality it could have been a touch warmer for my liking, thus the 4 stars in that respect.

It was our third maybe our fourth visit as usual it was great there are between 9or 12 of us we visit once a month we are the COMETTEE and meet once a month and go for a meal afterwards

Visited for the first time this evening on a Monday eve. My wife, daughter, and myself sat in the restaurant, haven just turned up with no prior reservation. This was not a problem. We were met by a lovely welcoming lady who escorted us to a choice of tables. The lady was very attentive and we soon had our drinks and shortly after, our main meals. I had the mix grill, which was piping hot and absolutely lovely with a peppercorn sauce. My wife had a lovely gammon steak which she happily polished off and my daughter had the sausage and mash, which she also enjoyed. The meals were all very tasty and filling. We added 3 cokes, a side of chips and onionrings. The staff were helpful and informative regarding menue options and recommendations. The total bill was just short of £40 which I thought was very fair. There was a car park with an extension to the rear. Remember to register your car on the screen inside the restaurant for the free parking. The toilets were positioned upstairs and were clean. I would recommend this restaurant and will visit again when in the area. It is also very close to the zoo, which is very handy when visiting there.

We visited here on the off chance and we're warmly welcomed by the whole team. They checked my mobility before seating us to make sure I was comfortable. A server then came to our table to take our order so we didn't have to go to the bar to order. The food came out so quickly we were so impressed.
