Stunning Carvery. Excellent service from happy friendly staff (Lindley Tracey) Hightly recommended, more than worth the visit.

Four of us called at the Wheatsheaf, Mollington, Chester on Saturday 26th October for carvery lunch. From the moment we arrived until the time we left, all members of the team made us feel extremely welcome. They were Hospitality with a capital ‘H’. Unfortunately, we didn’t get their individual names which we feel is fair as all of them were stars. The food was well cooked and reasonably priced. One member of our party would have preferred her food to have been a little hotter. To be fair to the team this was not reported at the time as it wasn’t considered to be a serious problem. Some of the furniture looked a little tired but again this was not down to the team but perhaps could be reviewed by the owners at some point. Altogether a very pleasant afternoon. Would certainly recommend.

Went out for lunch today with my friend and our mums, had a lovely carvery, good choice of meats. The food was lovely and hot with a happy chef. The atmosphere was amazing as some of the staff and boss singing along with the music. It's really nice to see and your doing a fab job. It's definitely worth a visit See you soon

Had a lovely Sunday lunch here, great value for money and great selection of roast and veg. it was a busy lunch, so Lyndsey who greeted us at the front door gave us a lovely quiet table towards the back of the pub out the way. We will definitely be back 👍🏻

Tracy was absolutely amazing and super helpful. It made the breakfast experience 10x better. Made sure we had everything we wanted and even was willing to go out of her way to make waffles.

Visited this week after a lovely weekend in Chester, on the way back to the hotel we popped in For a bite to eat And what can I say Food was fantastic staff were attentive and very knowledgeable about the local area Lynsey the manager was a lovely young lady that couldn’t do enough for us and the waitress Ella was just as lovely and a credit to the pub My GF is glutton free and Ellas knowledge was exceptional Absolute credit to the company Food was great value as was the alcohol Great staff Great location Great experience Loved it Well done Lynsey and team 10/10

Food awful management awful menu awful and when you politely point out there problems the management just have ago at you or just lie and be genuinely rude The car park always used to be full and we've had good food in the past obviously there has been a change of management and the car park is nearly empty which should of spoke problems in the first place Hence I will not be making a return visit

Very poor the decor needs a major refit Staff were friendly Food was absolutely abominable the fish i was given went back before it had time to sit on the table the second try was not much better mushy peas tinned, chips were warmed from first plate sent back hand battered “yeh right” Burgers were cooked from frozen to enhance the taste (sorry should have said hide) considerable sauces and grass cuttings to make the dry meat moist Nearly stopped at chippy on the way home. Who ever cooked the food should have been embarrassed to even put my fish in the fryer especially the first one Carvery well enough said but how appetising does dry sunlamp heated veg look but the gravy was to die for (well you would have done had you eaten it) thick lumpy glutenous old engine oil but more was sent out after asking twice straight from a pan poured into the same mucky pot It appears nobody pays attention to details except the blind man doing to food

Went in for a carvery, there was plenty of choice and the food was delicious. Our carver Terri was really friendly and made us feel very relaxed which definately added to the whole experience of eating out there. Definately recommend going the Wheatsheaf...best carvery in Chester hands down.

There was no friendly welcome because there was no one at all to greet us as we arrived for a booked lunch. It was a good 5 minutes before anyone came to see us. The decor is very dated and both inside and out this place could do with a freshen up. Staff seemed surly. The carvery offered a good choice but the vegetables were poor quality and the roast potatoes in particular were soft rather crunchy. All in all a disappointing experience

Went to this place a few night ago with some friends and I have to say the experience as a whole was like no other absolutely fantastic service from all the staff the lad on pizzas I think his name was Ben was so cheerful in his job really made the difference, few people on my table got carvery’s and I must say it looked delicious

Went for a lunch time meal. The entrance and pub itself seemed quite cold inside with doors open etc. The service was fine and our order was taken. The carvery was OK but the chef took some time to come out to serve. We actually started to serve our own vegetables. He looked a little cross but what could we do when he went AWOL? The meat allocation was not overly generous but it was adequate. Not somewhere you'd rush to return to but it serves a purpose and is well located as there's litle competition.

We came here twice in two days - firstly, on the Saturday for their all you can eat breakfast buffet which was very nice and all the food was piping hot. You can pay £2.49 on top for unlimited tea/coffee - very impressed. We then went on the Sunday for their carvery which again was very nice. There was the usual choice of beef, turkey, gammon and pork and a good selection of vegetables and plenty of gravy. Will definitely go there again for both the breakfast and the carvery.

Went for a quick tea on Friday was going for a pizza for a change but as always changed my mind as soon as I walked in the smell of the carvery was to nice not to have ha ha thanks team Wheatsheaf

Nipped in for a Carvery lunch. We both had a small plate and I used my services discount card to get a discount off as well. A very pleasant experience.

Went for food the carvery was dry, the fish and chips was also dry, not very enjoyable, also chairs were full of stains, didn't look very clean to be honest

Was driving to Chester noticed a Stonehouse sign we eat in stonehouse most times when visiting my family up and down the country as normal plenty to choose from but we always go for the carvery beef beautiful tender thank you stonehouse

Walked in for some food minimal tables occupied and 11 dirty tables, not a very good impression when it is past lunch time and a regular customer, carvery meats looked dried out so walked out, also wall paper hanging off the ceiling really needs refurbishment

Me and my friends have been camping in the local area, hoping to reward ourselves with a scrumptious roast dinner in the evening. We booked a table for 7:30 and trekked 30 minutes to this restaurant to be told there was no meat left for the carvery. Disappointed but hungry, we decided to choose something else off the menu. I ordered the bbq crispy chicken burger which came with bacon and melted cheese. When ordering this I expected the chicken to be crispy, not the cheese. To be honest crispy is an understatement, burnt to crisp is the perfect phrase to describe my burger toppings. While my burger was well done, my friend next to me ordered the bbq chicken pizza which was the complete opposite; it was as floppy as an ear lobe. Despite the undermining food and dissatisfaction of not getting a carvery, the service was good and staff were friendly.

The first pint I was served was cloudy and flat, this was replaced but should have never made the bar top. Food is ordered via an app and paid for before being served, and beware, a 10% "tip" is also added to your bill even before you can rate the service. The food was so bland we both left half of it on the plate and left. The only upside to our visit was that the bar staff were friendly.

Regularly come here for a carvery with my friend. Meat free for me and there is still loads of options. Staff however really make the experience positive. They are always friendly and accomodating.

Went for a meal with friends greeted by lovely gentleman wesring all black he kindly let us choose where we wanted to sit. Served by a lady in a blue top with lovely nails we had a little chat about that. Food was loveky and made to order.
