Wow, went to the wheatsheaf recently for lunch, well the two ladies who were on duty were amazing,. Their customer service skills excellent. Their food knowledge was out of this world. Their names are Vanessa and Caroline. They are a credit to not only The wheatsheaf but the company. Well done ladies. Keep going the extra extra mile

I came in the after noon with a friend as I had been poorly for a few days after having 7 teeth out and I ask for a egg sandwich with no crust as could only eat soft things and it was no problem came out beautifully and to follow up a bowl of hot custard and grace and max were out standing even though they had a few tables and a big party . Took the time to come and chat .

We have been staying here from Thursday when we first arrived we were greeted with a warm smile and was given our door swipe and-told our room was through those doors the room was pleasant enough with a couple of hangers not any other storage for our clothes we went out for a walk to see what was around not much it seems but lots of road works we went out for the next couple of days after having Cristal ball for eyes as you ordered breakfast from the brunch menu on Saturday night the restaurant was quite busy with some food off the menu what I did have was very basic scampi and chips the waitress had been doing a very good job clearing tables handing out culinary one gentleman smashed his glass and a what I can only say was a man with little man. Syndrome started to shout at the waitress that when she hears smashing glass she should run and help clean up when I then in not to many words said that I didn’t like the way he spoke to her he said she didn’t have a problem with him talking to her like that then he accused, me of being drunk because in his words there are two different waitresses ??

On 1st November we received a confirmed booking for Christmas lunch for x 5 people, secured with a £50.00 deposit. 2 weeks later we get an email to say this was a technical error as in reality they are fully booked and cannot honour the booking. I phone to get the refund as requested, there is no apology and they cannot perform the refund either. I ask to speak to the manager and this is refused. Just awful.

Beckey and max who workbehind the bar where outstanding always helpful pleasant any questions we asked about beers food they where there giving us advice and both where cheerful on the 3 nights we stayed great hotel / pub can’t wait to come back excellent place to stay great bar staff good food /beers everything you want is here when working away

When my meal arrived I realised it was missing vegetables. When I queried this at the bar, without reference to the kitchen, I was told they had run out. This news was delivered without an apology, an offer of a substitution or a reduction in price. I have been a regular diner here in past year but won't be in a rush to return again.

I went to the pub today, the two people on the bar were brilliant, . One coped with the hotel and the younger man coped with the bar . The young lady on the floor was Amazing. Well done guys

I came to the wheatsheaf today with my husband and nephew for a roast dinner after a long weekend of fishing and the food was out of this world , grace and Harrison served me at the bar and were very polite and efficient and a shout out to Mitchell the chef cauliflower cheese was out of this world .

Had a lovely evening out for a family meal at the Wheatsheaf. Staff were very polite and the pub had a great atmosphere. Food was spot on and a fair price to match! Highly recommend!

Came for the quiz, Grace is an amazing quiz host and very fair, always comes around to make sure you've heard all the questions. Never seems to be enough staff on unfortunately, which is a shame as we know what a diamond this pub has been and could be. The staff that are there are always very welcoming, polite and patient.

We stopped an had a spare of the moment meal on our way home . The food came out very quickly and was nicely presented . I would highly recommend eating here .

The rooms at the Wheatsheaf are really nice. They are clean and spacious. We stayed here for one night. We also had an evening meal and breakfast. The staff were polite. I stayed here for 2 weeks when working in Woking the hotel is decent and rooms are cheap and cheerful around £50 a night for single and £60 a night for double which includes a free breakfast bag (they cannot do cooked breakfast with current covid rules). The rooms come fully equipped with a fan and toiletries. I ate in the pub most nights the food is okay standard pub food they do 2 courses for £12 which is decent and you can order to tour table via and app so better for social distancing. I recommend the Japanese chicken for starters and the burgers for main.

We go to this pub every year before going to the pantomime. There is always a large group of us (normally 16 people) and we preorder our food. The food was ok but the service and wait time was dreadful. Apparently they can only plate up 6 meals at one time. This has never been a problem before. One kids meal was forgotten until the end. We all ate at different times. I had almost finished and my dad was still waiting for his meal! I’ve emailed the pub to share my concern but they haven’t had the decency to reply. We’ve been going to this pub for years but certainly won’t go back after being treated this way.

We normally have Christmas (or Boxing Day ) Lunch here and this year the best ever. Ingredients, cooking and portions great. Service excellent too, Atmosphere great. Good range of drinks

Family get together Sunday before Christmas. Cannot fault the service and attention to detail from the staff! One member of our party has some allergy issues and the staff could not have been more caring and meticulous! Couldn't recommend - exeptionally unwelcoming to a group of 7 people. Kept repeating we should have booked, and no attempt to acknowledge the milestone birthday of the person in our group (a simple 'Happy Birthday' might have been nice, instead of complaining the chef was on his own). The place was virtually empty, so heaven help them if they actually have customers. Food was also very below par for a pub these days. Raised this via the website and requested a reply - none received, so regrettably posting this review.

Stayed here on business. A lovely warm welcome on arrival from Sabrina who was really helpful and friendly. I was very impressed with the customer care from this member of the team. I stay in a lot of hotels and it’s rare to find such genuine customer care. Thankyou Sabrina. Room was very clean , warm and cozy. Ate in the pub in the evening with a friend and the food was delicious, I highly recommend the profiteroles! Easy parking here too which was a bonus and a good breakfast before work - loved the chocolate croissants!!!! Would definitely be a ‘go to’ when I’m working in the area again. All the staff have a friendly welcome and nothing is too much trouble. Thankyou very much once again. Excellent value for money!!!!

Extensive menu, but almost always something is not available from the menu. both for food and drinks. also get an itemised bills if you are running a tab, mistakes are plentiful . Staff are lovely and cant do enough. Food is well presented and cooked perfectly. drinks are not expensive. the atmosphere is lovely with log fires and views over the park.

My husband and I called in here for a drink and a snack and ended up having a meal!My husband's prawn cocktail was fresh and tasty and he followed that with Lancashire Hot Pot - loved the way the vegetables were served! I had scampi with the most delicious chips - all was served promptly and very hot.Really nice to finish with a coffee and mini pud - can recommend my husband's mini chocolate brownie and my mini lemon tart! Very enjoyable experience - atmosphere is very relaxing, service is friendly and efficient and we'll definitely be back.

It was Sunday, and Sunday roasts it was. The restaurant's setting is typish English pub but it is very neat, clean, tidy and exude a cozy feeling. Service was friendly and efficient, while it took a little longer for the food to arrive. I had beef roast. The portion was large and I would liked it more had the beef been done medium-well. The other orders around the table, namely chicken and pork roasts, received compliments.

We very much enjoyed staying and eating in this hotel. Well done to the staff for being so helpful . The young men in the bar were so kind to us. Nothing was too much trouble, they sorted out a few problems our Irish relatives had with their trip home. Room was good and bed comfy.

Just had lunch and it wasn’t up too much! The place was dead and I can only suggest that it’s because of the food!

I parked in the car park next to the Wheatsheaf to have a quick pint with my half brother on 19 July. He paid for our two pints with cash and he spoke with the barman about the times he used to visit the pub when it was run by a cricketer. We were there for just over an hour. Yesterday I received a parking fine from Eurocarparks for £85 (if I pay quickly I can reduce my fine to £50!) as I was not authorised to park in the pub car park.

Whilst on a business trip I visited The Wheatsheaf for an evening meal. Service behind the bar was very friendly and I found the food excellent and good value for money

I booked a very reasonably priced overnight stay and was very pleasantly surprised. We had a very good lunch before booking in as we arrived early. Then coffee and read the papers until checking in. The room although small was adequate. We ate in the restaurant at night and had an excellent meal and a couple of drinks. A superb freshly cooked breakfast was served the next morning by a very pleasant young man. In fact all the staff were very helpful.

I recently stayed for a business trip and staff were very welcoming and friendly. I forgot my alarm clock and the manageress sent it back to me by first class post - definitely went the extra mile. Thank you once again.
