Given a corner table even though it was not at all busy, and ended up having to sit right next to a loud table of four plus baby . Food adequate but prices high for what was on our plates. Park chop , but no apple sauce. Gives the impression they think they know what customers would like or expect.

Pretty location over a man made lake, the staff were friendly and efficient even though the were busy, the meals were tasty and a good size. The menu was varied without being extensive and the wine list was adequate. We weren't rushed. A good dinning experience

I went to the Wharf for a birthday lunch and I must say I was quite disappointed in the service. The food was lovely but service was very poor. The staff there seem to forget you exist. It was very sunny and we asked if we could switch table to be under the shade and no one came back to say if this could be done. We had to go to the bar to ask for this to be done after no one came around for 15mins It took about 20mins to get our orders and even when looking for staff it is difficult to find anyone unless you leave your seat to go to the bar to ask to be served. My friend had ordered a steak and wasnt given a steak knife with her meal, again there was no one to be found until 15 mins later my brother had to go inside again to ask for someone to bring a steak knife to our table when her food was already getting cold. Everytime we needed a meal ordered, tissue for the table as they provide the bare minimum we had to leave our table to go and look for someone.Overall, the service was the worst I had experienced in a restaurant. Everything was slow and seemed as if the staff forgot you were there. Only good thing about this experience was the food. We were very disappointed and as a result will not e visiting again.

Went for the first time for food although sat outside for drinks in the past, absolutely amazing setting you would not expect. Recently went for dinner with work colleagues and still a week later praising the food and service we received! I wish I got the name of our waitress, she was lovely and sweet and got us everything we needed was Wednesday last week. The food was amazing and very well priced! We will definitely return again and again again! All staff friendly and food absolutely amazing! Our waitress we were sat opposite the cook line was absolutely amazing!

I have checked on the webpage and it stated that the food is served till 8pm - when we arrived it turned out kitchen closes at 7pm. We managed to get some food which was really tasty! (calamari and pizza). Again, on the webpage it says the place closes at 10pm but it was actually 8pm! Very disappointed - it doesn't take long to update webpage with such crucial information and for that reason I decided to lower the score.

After queuing for 1 hour on Saturday for my wife’s birthday, we were turned away at the door. We were 2 families of 5 adults and 3 children and we were turned away because we were more than 6 in total, even though the web site stated that 2 families of any size would be allowed. We even offered to accept 2 tables of Four, but that was clearly too much trouble. Even though we remained polite and courteous throughout this painful encounter, the female staff member was unbending and totally unsympathetic and we felt humiliated. We then went to Zizzi in Lakeside who were truly amazing and so very customer focused. We will never visit the Wharf again and we cannot recommend it based on our experience.

My first impressions were wow it looked so gorgeous from the front on walking it is an imposing building but a beautiful. We was greeted by a team member who clearly had enough and was not friendly at all other than the food, drinks, our waitress was excellent I would come here again. To mention which is very important it was good to see a place taking Covid 19 rules very seriously. Well done.

Firstly I must say that the refurbishment is done to a high standard and it is very comfortable and inviting. The food was ever so good with an interesting and varied menu, no long waits and all nicely presented. The only down side was only being able to reserve the table for 90 minutes. Although we were well within the time frame we felt we were hassled by the staff to vacate. Plenty of empty tables though.Although it was a bit of a downer we would return.

Brought our parents here last Saturday after visiting for a drink a few weeks back. The food was brilliant, shared the arancini and calamari. Lovely cheese/bacon burger - the chips were gorgeous! Staff took the rules very seriously, other diners too which is rare, so I felt safe. We also had a friendly waiter who did really well. The only disappointment was that we didn't realise the place is dog friendly. Having dogs barking when you're eating dinner is unexpected and quite unpleasant! Will be back, thank you!

First time back at the Wharf since update and pleasantly surprised. Like a previous customer after opening we were given the wrong information about mixed households and told only people from same household could eat indoors which was incorrect and off putting. As two people ,went to try. Not quite as spacious as promotional video portrays but still good although echos like a warehouse. There was plenty of menu choice catering for light meals to larger appetites as well as wraps, sandwiches and sides. A mix of fish meat and salads which appeals and impressed. Service was good and unlike some venues plenty of staff. It was good to be back as a convenient local venue for me. Outside looking good but to cold on day we visited. Would recommend on back of our visit but as busy advice booking at the moment. Will return

On being seated inside we were asked if we were two separate households in a booking of 4, we were confused by this comment as this is not government guidelines. The manager was adamant it was government guidelines so we asked to see proof off gov.uk as no other venue has been exercising this ‘government rule’ especially as we went out a lot during eat out to help out and this was never an issue elsewhere. He also said ‘they’re hard to find on gov.uk’. If you’re exercising this so called government rule as an organisation you should have proof of this from a legit source. He then returned with a diagram from the BBC on a bit of paper with no dates and said it was the most recent one that was up. I noticed in the england column he had it clearly stated 2 households in max of 6 so we just got on with it And separated our tables. After he left, we were intrigued about this diagram which we then found on the BBC, to which we also noticed he had clearly copied into word, not only removed the dates but cut, swapped and paste the N Ireland and England column to back up his argument. In England you’re allowed a mix of households which the online diagram clearly stated. This is so embarrassing on his part and we were disgusted with the service from then on regarding these fake rules and the fact no other table were being questioned AND we’d clearly been lied to. All staff need customer service training and need more knowledge of government rules before trying to implement them! This is a shame because the refurb is stunning and the food was amazing but our experience was made terrible by the staff; on top of being made to feel embarrassed in front of other customers.

Went here for food and drinks yesterday with some friends who recommended the place after a long time being closed due to a refurb. What can I say? The food was amazing we ordered cod and chips and the pork belly - OMG the pork belly was so good! One of the best meals I have ever eaten, it was recommended to us by our waiter Steven who lovely. He was so attentive and was chatting to us all evening, checking if we were all happy and ok. He even went out of his was to see if there was any room inside for us as we were getting a bit cold, unfortunately there wasn’t any room which was a shame as we were getting so cold. But he moved us to another table outside under a heater which helped a lot. My friends had told me how much the place has changed with the new decor (my first time here). Everything was just perfect, we also ordered some cocktails, pornstar and 2 espresso martinis, they were so good! Will definitely be back here again soon!Thank you!

3 of us visited for lunchtime as our office is nearby. My 1st visit since lockdown and also since the new refurb. 1st the positives: the refurb looks great. Total make over. Went downhill a bit from there. Arrived just after noon. Bit of a wait outside (the new normal ?) Seemed to take ages to get to the front desk. "have you booked" ? was the 1st question. We hadnt ! "you should really as we're very busy" ! A puzzle as it looked empty...maybe theres a 1:00pm rush !? Shown to the outside area which was fine and has had a tidy up as well with nice views across the lake. Ordered drinks & baguettes. 3 of us paid separately, which could have been the problem. Drinks arrived separately. 10-15 mins later 2 of the baguettes arrived. 1 chicken & 1 salami. Which were nice. We waited for the 3rd to arrive...and waited. Never arrived ! Chased a couple of times. As we get an hour for lunch, in the end the only choice was as a takeaway !! As we walked out through the pub, still looked empty !! As its only been opened again for a week or 2...perhaps teething problems ? Seemed to have more staff than customers. Might leave it a little while before we try again. Shame.

Lunch with GrandaughterWe have not seen our grandaughter for a few weeks and decided to treat her to lunch, living in nearby Bexley we thought this might be a nice place to bring her as the reviews were good, location was great and the staff were very welcoming and attentive, no problems there, we picked a table on the upper floor but had to move because the noise from the group lower down made talking impossible, we ordered some food one of which was a sirlion steak cooked medium, the meals arrived quite quickly which having a youngster is a plus, two of the meals were fine but the steak was impossible to eat being so tough, on complaining about it the waitress took the steak back to the kitchen, she returned saying that as our granddaughter had eaten some of the chips the manager was refusing to waive the cost, not a good sign if custom was to be repeated, the bill was expensive for the quality and while I would recommend the place and staff I would not recommend the food. we will not be returning, there are plenty of other places to go.https://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowUserReviews-g528818-d2515454-r725217726-The_Wharf-Teddington_Richmond_upon_Thames_Greater_London_England.html#

We have been a number of times and always found the food quite good and the staff efficient and friendly. It is a big attraction that we are allowed to take our dog with us.. Today the food was sadly not up to scratch. We had a Sunday roast for the first time, but we arrived about 2.15 and it seemed to us that the food had been prepared for the midday market. Both the turkey and the pork were dry and the vegetables were rather cold. If they are going to advertise roast lunches, they should ensure that the food is prepared in relays over the three hours or so that Sunday lunches are likely to be required.

Me and my sister have been to this pub twice and will continue to do so... it’s got a great setting with great views over the lake and on a hot summers day it’s a perfect location. However we mainly come on a Sunday have a Sunday roast, each time we have one small plate of vegetables between us ( 4 carrot sticks, 3 spouts, 1 broccoli each) that’s surely not enough. When looked at other roasts coming up other people had one plate each. Spoke to the manger on this one time and he said you should of got 2 plates of vegetables. right okay next time we came we had the same so I asked the young man when it came to us and he said that’s all you get, I actually said well it’s not and after arguing about an extra plate it was resolved to get another plate sent to us. Other than that the food is excellent and the staff are very friendly and will continue to visit.

Been going to the Wharf for years, it is in a lovely location over looking a lake, and is dog friendly which makes it unique. It's a lovely place to go, spend time with family and be able to take the family dog.

Went here today 28/1 for lunch as was in the area. We both ordered the burger which was described as "Our juicy half pound steak burger loaded with house burger sauce, crispy onions and smoky tomato relish”. After waiting an hour (on a Monday) I asked at the bar if the food was going to be much longer. The young lad at the bar who had taken my order said there was a delay as the food hygiene people were in and everything had to be done properly!!!!! He checked and said our food was ready it just needed finishing off. Sat back down and he brought the burgers over straight away. What was put in front of me was the worst thing I have ever been served in a restaurant. It was a black burnt dry burger with dried cheese, old bacon and crispy onions, no sign of house burger sauce, let alone loaded with it and no smoky tomato relish. Just a few miserable looking chips, a limp slice of tomato and a dry slice of gherkin. So I went and complained at the bar asking if the food hygiene people really were there because if they were that would never have come out. It was disgusting. A lady called Kate said she’d come over after she’d served a customer. When she did, I told her the problem and she said “what would you like me to do, refund or replace or choose something different?” No mention of a sorry. We ordered something different, and that was only because it was 2:30 and we were starving. We chose chicken wings and tatziki with pitta bread, which was all grim, but I had to ask for the refund in difference of price. I then suggested they offered a refund of one of the cokes as we had waited so long. She said she would have to clear that with he manager, which she did. But he should have come over and apologised and should have offered something as a gesture of goodwill. Won’t return, obviously, and would not recommend it at all. Would give it zero if I could but TripAdvisor states you must give at least one rating. Really rank!

Would like to thank all the staff at the wharf on Christmas Day for the lovely 5 course meal our family had there this Christmas. 13 adults, 2 kids and a baby. The food was lovely. The staff were polite and couldn’t have been more helpful. It was our first time in 40 years that we have eaten out on Christmas Day and we were all very impressed. Will definitely do it again. 5* food and 5* treatment. Thankyou everyone.

Friendly enough and popular because its the only one around. The food however is typical microwaved pub grub. They don’t believe in presentation. All I had was ham and chips it looked like a canteen/school dinner offering, have you not heard of garnish-a bit of colour on the plate to make it look appetising. People eat with their eyes as well as taste buds and olfactory senses. My colleagues meals looked equally awful. Wouldn’t choose to eat there again

I have going to the wharf on and off over the last 15 years, it is a friendly pub and serves great food reasonably priced. They are dog and kid friendly too.

Food overpriced £6.95 for one square of halloumi is unacceptable. Manager took no responsibility which made it worse and emailed both The Wharf and Shepherd Neame and no response. Very poor customer service- not what I expected.

A lovely gastro pub in a beautiful setting. I have eaten here rice, the first time the meal was great, good value but the steak & ale pie I had yesterday didn’t have any steak in it just fat & gristle. Good value thought if you are after cheap & cheerful

Our friend recommended it and wished he hadn't. It had obviously been some time since he had been and it had really gone downhill and he was embarrased that he had taken us there.

Having been to this place a few times, we decided to drop in & have lunch in the Carvery today. On arrival, we were informed that the Carvery wasn't open today. No explanation was given, despite enquiring why this was. We were reassured that we could still get a Sunday roast though....how I wish we'd ignored that reassurance and went elsewhere as we were poised to do.

Menu average. Food average. Very expensive. Variety crap. No sunday roast available even though early enough. Got impression that the staff wanted us to go.

Really nice location, it's so nice to sit outside for a nice drink or bite to eat but it's always let down a bit by the service. No one ever looks happy to work here!

This place is tucked away in a business park but don't let that put you off. It is well signposted from the main road and is next to a largish lake.

Love this pub....spacious clean homely and friendly...easily accessible as mainly all.on one level..though there is a section which goes down a couple of steps and and upstairs. Also it's right by the lake with an outdoor decking area which is great on a nice day. Have ordered food there as well which is very nice..really nice place was considering having my dad's wake there as they cater for functions as well and hire out their downstairs restaurant..but it's not suitable for disabled people really and also didn't want to risk it with a lot of people as it's right next to dartford bridge..incase there was any traffic issues...but will go back again and again as we like there

I was greeted aggressively by a bearded man who made no effort when I told him in English that I did not understand him, that I just wanted to eat, the waitresses understood me perfectly, but after 15 minutes no news of anyone, so I prefered to leave: this is not correct !!!

We needed a pub near where friends were staying for a few days with their dog. Not easy but the Wharf welcomed them. The area is lovely, lots of water and a fountain and room to sit outside. We arrived at 4pm when the carvery had shut but were told we could get a carvery meal though served on a plate. This we ordered but sadly the beef looked and tasted as if it had been sitting around since lunch time and the brussel sprouts and broccoli were so hard we couldn't eat them. A plate of fish and chips passed us which looked a lot better! Our puddings were quite good. Staff were friendly and inside it was lovely and cool on a 30 degree day. We were able to sit there for several hours enjoying our friends company.

Enjoyed a fabulous Sunday roast at this lovely pub. It is in the middle of a trading estate but you would never know due to it being surrounded by lakes. It had a nice atmostphere with music or TV, so a perfect place to catch up with family and friends.

Worst sandwich ever ! Tasteless ,stale. Better off going to Asda down the road and ,buying a £1.00 sandwich , rather than paying £6.00 for rubbish. Paid £19.00 for two sandwiches and two cokes. Go elsewhere not the Wharf.

The restaurant was good with great food and lovely music, but they need to improve their services we waited for our food for ages two hours, I almost gave up and left. 😅, but what made me stay longer was the ladies night event the music was brilliant. 😂
