Just returned from a family meal and what a great night we had. Ten of us all enjoyed our piping hot, tasty food. Service was exceptional and for ten meals and three rounds of drinks, the bill was very reasonable. Anyone considering a visit can rest assured that you are bound to enjoy a great night out.

We sat in the beer garden, had a lovely lunch (steak and a burger) cooked as requested. Friendly staff, very busy in the garden stayed for few drinks as well. They have a barbecue on the go as well which is very popular with everyone. We live locally so this pub is in walking distance. Had a great afternoon.

Steak was cooked too perfection. But I do think its over priced for what it is. The place is ran by kids. The bar manager seems too think its OK too swan around the place talking into his England flag mobile phone. This place Lacks customer service. Bring back Goran and his team!!!

Recently visited the Westbury Tavern, and with the sun shining sat in the fantastic beer garden, which we haven’t been able to sit in yet, very pleasant with low volume music in the background and a lively atmosphere, Tom as usual sorted the pints, the skin on fries and garlic ciabatta was tasty too.

I went for Sunday dinner with a family friend, the beef, stated as cooked pink was beige, chewy and flavourless, the roast potatoes are from a bag of frozen ones, the veg was potentially just brought to temperature, the carrots were raw, no idea what cheese sauce they put on the equally rock hard cauliflower but it was stringy and unpleasant, the regaled rich gravy was a bland watery grave for the dire plate of horror to drown in, the Yorkshire puddings were the pre prepped ones you microwave or briefly show the oven, no idea why beef is served with sausage stuffing, also not nice and loads of it, maybe to make up for the near £12 price tag, I’m no chef but this was horrendous, I was offered to speak to a manager or a free drink, we both declined, it’s better people are made aware than compensated, the Tavern needs to do significantly better, you can’t charge people for such terrible food

Really disappointing. We couldn’t even cut into the crust of the pies, which are stayed as award winning in the menu. The mash was clearly frozen and the chips had obviously been warmed up. We did let the waitress know but nothing was done to put things right 😞

This was our first visit since it reopened after refurbishment. The bar was nicely decorated, but with televisions all round showing IPL cricket when we were there. We ordered food and drinks at the bar: fish and chips, scampi and chips, Hunter’s chicken. The food arrived quickly and was very tasty. Including half a pint of Coors, a still mineral water and an apple juice, the bill was £37.

We booked a table for 15 and paid a deposit only to arrive and they had forgotten we were coming. That was the best part of the visit. My husband ordered a burger with bacon and cheese and was presented with a vegan burger with bacon and cheese- two of us ordered the beef dinner oh dear! It said served pink but was the horrible microwave beef very slimy and my piece had a piece of bone on the top of the slice. One frozen roast potato and a microwave Yorkshire pudding and a plate of peas and nothing else- it was vile! When we mentioned it to the manager he said we cook the beef ourselves! Really I don’t think so. The kids Mac and cheese had the strangest flavour and none of the children would eat it which speaks volumes as they love this normally- my advice save your hard earned cash and go elsewhere

Visit here and let's face it you could be sat in any one of the Greene King pubs in spitting distance. The refit on first glance looks decent but after a while its like sitting in Currys but with a bar! I lament the old place which might have been slightly rough round the edges but you got character, proper chefs, atmosphere and above all quality home cooked food. You have nothing of those here but if "boil in the bag," food is your thing then your in luck.

Called in for the first time since re opening . The two young men serving were pleasant enough. We and others had to clear a table of empty glasses before sitting down. The landlord appeared to be cleaning cutlery. Several people went to order food only to be told they were only serving sides. Another group left and more empty glasses stood on a table. They were still there when we left. For a new venture I would have expected better.

We ordered off the winter menu and for some reason that meant it would take 4 times longer than other diners, not that we were told that and we did not have time to spare. The chicken and the prawn skewers were in the oven but would be ready soon. The chargrilled skewers that is. Fairly obviously the order hadn't been sent and the staff were trying some excuses. The food is basic pub grub but roughly £1.50 more expensive than usual per main course.

I was expecting a really good Sunday roast but, unfortunately I was so disappointed. When we booked the table on Saturday we were asked if we would be having a Sunday roast and, as we were not going until the evening we were told to pre order, which we did. I was so disappointed when it came, no stuffing with the turkey, no roast parsnips and we were told they had, run out of roasted potato, so we had mash. It looked and tasted like a mid week meal. Also no one came to check, if the meal was ok. Will not be going back!

"Stand and Deliver" a phrase from the past shouted by Highwaymen who were about to rob you. Had i heard this last night during our visit to the Westbury Tavern i would have turned and ran. As the barman aid nothing other than "what can i get you" i fell into the Highwayman's clutches. £7.65 for a pint and a half of Estrella. WTF! after grudgingly paying for the round i had to check if i had still got my a shirt on my back and that the barman had put his flintlock away. Tempting as it was i declined the Wife's suggestion of nicking the glasses to make up the deficit in my wallet. I even felt my eyes staring glaringly at the chasa box. Being an upstanding citizen i drunk my pint and left the premises promising never to set foot in the establishment again. Never again will i moan about the prices at the Butchers Arms Forsbrook where i can get a pint and a half of quality lager for £5.85 in a busy pub. Stand and Deliver your money or your life.

Used to go to this place a lot as we have family that live near, the food/service was always ok, not amazing just ok. Recently it has changed, there is a young chap that works/runs the place that is literally the rudest barman I’ve ever come across. When he can tear himself away from his friends or his stool at the end of the bar you are greeted with a flick of the head as though you are doing him a disservice by being there, unfortunately this seems to be rubbing of on his other staff, they basically make you feel awkward.

It's a bit of a convoluted story but it has annoyed me very much. It was a wake for a close relative and the Westbury Tavern was ideally situated and has excellent food and good parking, job done! We called in and spoke to the very charming owner who made it clear , nothing was too much trouble. We were uncertain about final numbers but she assured us we could confirm as late as the day of the event. So the day after we knew the number attending, so we rang back. When my wife spoke to the chap on the phone ( who assured us that he was the manager?) He said that we had already agreed numbers, and that" you get the same amount of food for 45 as you do for 35" Then someone must have kicked him and he changed his tune. On the day of the wake we arrived and all was fine, at the initial booking we asked for chips to be provided, ( I know it sounds petty but I'm a veggie and the 2 main options are meat based). I asked the "manager where the chips were and he said " oh we don't do chips with the hot buffet ? Only the cold?. I specifically asked for chips I said , no you didn't came his reply ,you asked for "crisps". Any way the chef's gone home!. A modern day Basil Faulty. Later 2 soup bowls of chips arrived..Can I say at this point the food super and much appreciated by those in attendance. As the day wore on and the guests disappeared, we decided to move to the Lounge for another drink, I went up to the bar and asked for a large round of expensive double malts, the obnoxious little bar tender ( whom I suspect pretended to be the manager on the earlier phone call) said," don't forget you have not paid the bill for the wake yet ". My wife was very upset by him saying that, and he was quite lucky not to have a string of expletives ringing in his ears. We have vowed never to return. The price per head is very expensive and you would have thought that there would have included free coffee but this was charged as an extra. We left with a bitter taste in our mouths.

We have eaten at The Westbury Tavern on several occasions in the past and as a result of previous experience, decided to treat friends from out of the area to a meal there. We booked earlier in the week for a table for dinner at 7pm. We were shown to our table and with reasonable promptness, were served with drinks and our food order was taken. The food we had was very good - no complaints about that! One of our party wanted another drink and three of us desserts. We waited a while for the table to be cleared, fully expecting the dessert menu to be offered. The young waitress came to finish clearing, grabbed the remaining plate turned and walked away without acknowledging us at all. No one else approached us to see if we wanted anything else so we did not get the extra drink or desserts. Eventually, fed up of waiting and having lost the desire to consume more, one of our guests went to the bar and asked for the bill. He returned to the table and reported that four members of staff were standing behind the bar chatting. It had been busy when we arrived but by this time many groups had left. It was not late. We felt this unacceptable and will not be rushing back. We did mention our dissatisfaction at the time and received a verbal apology but we still left feeling somewhat disgruntled.

I've visited several times before and the chips have always been fabulous. However at my last visit they are not as good as previous visits. They were more like frozen oven chips than fresh like they used to be. Service was still good, but the chips were a let down

Sorry to say I will never go here again, first and last visit. Drinks are ridiculously over priced, £8.40 for gin and tonic. Staff were miserable, ordered Croatian starter, not available so had garlic mushrooms which were ok. For my main I ordered the Cajun chicken which came cremated and mostly unedible, chips and sauce was nice, the waiter gave my friend her meal by leaning across me which is not good. 3 courses for three people cost just short of £120 plus two guns bought previously. I don’t mind paying for quality, sadly this was the total opposite. My friends lasagne was dry too.

I visited the Westbury Tavern in August and was pleased to find the same high standard of food. This time i also tried the pizza bread starter with sea salt, olive oil and rosemary and it was delicious. Went with 2 friends and all the food was good. Staff are friendly and efficient. Will definitely be back!

We visited here tonight for the first time (3.7.18) on the hope that we could grab some homemade pub grub before the England game. Well we got what we came for!! Absolutely amazing Chicken special which was generously portioned & amazing cheesecake! Also made greater by the brilliant service we received, if I remember rightly the waitress that was mainly serving us was called Jordan or maybe Georgia (hope she doesn’t mind the name mention) but her service was brilliant, very smiley and very attentive to our needs.

Great lunch chicken and bacon baguette. Smoked meat really, really good. Best we've had for ages. Super drinks, try the cloudy cider. Very friendly staff if food a bit slow.

I lost track of how long our food took and how many times we were told we’d be next. The children were beside themselves with hunger so I kept asking and kept being fobbed off. Don’t bother. I don’t know ho to give less that one star.

We read reviews and had heard good things about here so decided to try it. Its' a local pub and not really gastro even though it tries to be.I visited with a friend who is has a walking frame, and as there are steps into the pub I went to look for another entrance. There is one, but they had locked it after the last wheelchair user had left. As this is a pub on an estate (next to local shops) I understand they can't man the back bar all the time, but do they expect people with disabilities to run in and ask them to open up the door! I had to and left my friend outside and then had to help her in the back way but it was hard with so many doors with little space to move.

Went here for lunch as we hadn't been here for a while. The place was almost empty and I'm not surprised, the beer at £3.95 a pint is really over the top. Food is typical pub grub, won't be going back.

Third time eating here & everytime the food has been lovely. Our most recent visit was at lunchtime & it was surprisingly busy. 2 courses for £10.95. A wide selection to choose from. The food was a good portion, considering it was a lunch menu. And it did not disappoint. Every bit was eaten & then followed by dessert. Would definitely recommend to others & will be back again soon!

Food was ok but only that. Very overpriced for what it was- an estate pub not a restaurant. An extensive choice but don't expect a cheapy- wished we'd stick to our local Wetherspoons as their food is a lot nicer and you not going to get ripped off.

Beer prices rose today by 15 pence. I made a joke on Facebook that perhaps the increase could be spent on light fittings and bulbs which have required attention for a number of years. For my comments I have been barred for speaking the truth. Perhaps they will not like a little more truth. I remember a time last year when all three cubicles in the men's toilets did not have a lock. After a number of months a lock was provided on the toilet in the restaurant, but the toilets between the lounge and the bar have not had locks for years.

Food was not 5 star, though for me and my family it was exactly what the doctor ordered: generous portions, good tasting fare and, ....the price was very reasonable. Most of all, the chef and his daughter were so friendly, that we had a good natter with them were he explained some of the acts and singers performing there at times. Overall, a very pleasant experience. Btw, a bottle of wine was included within the total price of £48.- feeding 4 of us! Thank You, Chef

Small but perfect. Their cafe is excellent. They have live Reindeer at Christmas too which is great for children visiting.
