My favourite pub by a mile - staff and regulars are all fantastic, and it has the nicest beer garden with shelter, heat lamps, and fairy lights. Beers are always changing and the spirit of the week keeps my husband happy but I'm a wine purveyor myself 🍷 the £1 sandwiches are perfect too!

Close to the Shalesmoor tram stop is The Wellington, originally built in the 1830s, it was refurbished and reopened as a free house in 1993 renamed as the Cask & Cutler, it changed hands in 2006 and returned its name to The Wellington. In 2016, the pub was bought by the friendly James B, who has his own brewery, the Neepsend Brew Co, which provide excellent ales; plus many good guest ales too, bit of a cask ale drinker's paradise. Comfortable and friendly pub with a fine beer garden.

Don’t be fooled by its exterior as this is a great little local ales house. All of the beers are from the Neepsend brewery but there is still a good selection to have. This is where we stayed the longest during our Sheffield pub crawl. AS well as the beer there are some good old fashion cobs/rolls/balm cakes, what ever you want to call them at a very reasonable price. I would recommend a visit if you like real ale.

Bouncing back on the tram back from Hillsborough to Sheffield City Centre my twin brother Stephen and I noticed this great pub and decided to jump off the tram and pay it a visit and what a great find . Walking in and I knew I would enjoy my visit here, a beautiful pubby interior, wonderful decor and furnishings including vintage beer and advertising enamels adorning the walls, an island style serving bar, etched glass features and plenty of seating options spread throughout this pub both inside and outside in their courtyard, this is were we chose to sit on a roasting hot Wednesday late afternoon. We ordered ales from Neepsend Brewery ,these ales were served in excellent condition, we settled down, soaked up the sun while sipping our ales. The ales from this brewery were spot on, hoppy but not overhopped, a hint of toffee a delicious aroma and aftertaste with a slight bitter finish, a classic British real ale ,it was just so good being in such a lovely pub enjoying a quality brew. We both really enjoyed our ale's in here, only stayed for the one each before moving on and for a first time visit to The Wellington Pub we were totally impressed. The Wellington Pub is easy to locate along Henry Street. Opening hours are; Monday to Thursday, Open from 4pm. Friday to Sunday, Open from Midday. A great pub ,most definitely well worth checking out if you're in the area.
