Always good food here. My son thinks the BBQ chicken burger is the best he's had. Love the chilli burger. Steak panini is great too. Recommended. Decent all round

Now my sixth time here. Undoubtedly one of the best gastropubs in the region. Every meal I have had has been outstanding. My daughter in law from Manchester, who is a real foodie, was most impressed. Whilst it is not the cheapest, you get what you pay for, and this place is worth it.

Food was amazing and service was excellent. Quite expensive so will visit on special occasions but the portions were huge and came with vegetables so you don't need to order lots of sides. Dessert menu looked great but we couldn't even manage one between us. Delighted to have found this fabulous place.

Re the White Hart experience, a warm welcome, outstanding service and a stunning location were the key features. The food and wine were very good, too. [However making this Open table report was made difficult by Open Table's security precautions which were OTT. People are trying to help. Do not make it difficult]

Enjoyed a fantastic lunch at the White Hart today. The food was delicious, service was great. The restaurant was warm and the ambiance relaxed. We ate from the set lunch menu. The squid was delicious, the steak and chips cooked to perfection and a good size portion. Pudding just perfect! We will be back and highly recommend.

We are regular diners at the White Hart, and are always bowled over by the quality of the food and service. In the last year we have also become devotees of their desserts, created by their pastry chef. They are incredible: with such imaginative flavours and beautiful presentation.

Fantastic food. The weekday lunch menu is amazing value, just factor in an hour to sleep it off afterwards!

Excellent experience at the White Hart. A really lovely old building, great service and ambiance from friendly, professional staff and gorgeous food. It was a big birthday for one of our party and the restaurant gave her a birthday card and small fudge, which was such a lovely gesture and much appreciated. Our first time there, but will definitely be back.

Excellent as usual! The service is attentive but not overbearing, the food is superb for both adults and children. Our 7 year old loves eating at The White Hart, she always looks forward to it and the staff are brilliant with her, always make her feel welcome and included. This visit was for my husband's birthday for which is received a card and a small plate of desert, which is a lovely touch. Cannot recommend this Restaurant highly enough!

The food as always was faultless! Delicious starter, main course and desert! The waiters were so welcoming and went above and beyond. A wonderful anniversary dinner, couldn’t have been better.

Marvellous place with superb food yet a genuine pub feel without trying to be overly fancy. They always have some splendid dishes for vegetarians like me but it would be good if the very reasonable daily menu were made vegetarian-friendly as well. Otherwise I have only good things to say and look forward to coming again.

We had pheasant. Not a good choice as this is a dry meat and needs good cooking tecniques to keep it moist. Unfortunately these techniques were not in evidence and it was unappetising and dry. Normally this restaurant is extremely good so I was very disappointed.

Beautiful character pub in an easy to find, quaint village on the outskirts of Oxford with huge vaulted ceiling and a cosy bar with a fire- perfect for the snowy winter's evening we spent there. Service was exceptional- attentive, friendly staff without being intrusive who couldn't do enough for you. Food was delicious though a tad pricey. But then I guess the old addage of you get what you pay for is true here:)!

We have been going a few times a year for special occasions for a number of years now. Never had a dish that wasn't great. The food is great, the staff are great. Thank you again :)

New Year's Day lunch. Our table was in the gallery below a music speaker. As all three of us wear hearing aids, we asked for a move, but as this wasn't possible the staff obligingly turned the speaker off. The staff were attentive and the food was generally excellent. The roast beef was wonderfully tender but tasted rather bland; horseradish cream was required to pep it up. Quantities were plentiful and none of us was able to manage all of our main courses. This meant we had no room for puds - shame, as they looked interesting. Overall a pleasant event and fair value for money.

Lovely Christmas meal, generous portions, delicious food!

Christmas Eve lunch at the White Hart was a delightful experience, brimming with warmth and festivity. We commenced our meal with an array of tempting nibbles: delectable Pancetta and Cheddar croquettes, perfectly crispy fried squid, and a selection of freshly baked breads. Each bite was exquisite, though I must admit to a tinge of disappointment at the absence of the beef dripping butter from the menu. Truth be told, my cardiologist is likely relieved, as that indulgent delight was nothing short of dangerously sublime. For the main course, my wife and son indulged in the renowned Kelmscott pork, complete with crackling and a medley of seasonal vegetables. My wife, in particular, loves this dish, often declaring it ‘divine.’ I opted for the venison accompanied by silky mash, which was equally splendid. The service was impeccable, a testament to the dedication of the staff, and I have no complaints in that regard. Our server, Harry, recognized me from a previous visit, which left me wondering whether that was a testament to his keen memory or a bad reflection on my ‘could do better’ behaviour. Harry stands out as a rare gem among young men these days. He is bright, exceptionally polite, engaging, and articulate. I worry that once he departs for university, the White Hart will feel his absence profoundly. Overall, it was a lovely meal, and I extend my heartfelt thanks to all who contributed to such an enjoyable experience. Merry Christmas White Hart

I have been a diner at The White Hart for almost 20 years - since Mark and Kay arrived. In itself I think that speaks for the consistent quality, ambience and standard of service I have enjoyed over the years. I recommend The White Hart to anyone who is looking for a fantastic dining experience where service and cooking are first class and a warm welcome is assured. The White Hart is my first choice for a celebration or for an experience to impress a fellow guest.

A really great evening to celebrate my husband’s birthday. The food was absolutely delicious and although we had to move tables ( due to a very loud group at next table) this was dealt with very quickly by management. An amazing place to eat, superb food, amazing service. Great good is not cheap these days and it was well worth it. Try and avoid sitting by a window in winter, otherwise it was a lovely evening.

Magnificent building, the current owners are providing lovely food and very good service, but it felt expensive.

My bestie and I had a Sunday lunch at The White Hart at Fyfield today. She had the chicken whilst I had the pork. Both meals were excellent and we followed up with a sticky toffee pudding and a cheesecake selection respectively for dessert. Again both were delicious. Service was first class. Our waitress, Aims, was efficient and friendly. The White Hart is not inexpensive. Our meal: 2 mains, 2 desserts, drinks, was £125 including the tip. 2 large glasses of wine cost £24 of this total. Despite the prices however we would go back. Thank you White Hart.

Our 24th Anniversary. What a lovely restaurant. Stunning setting, great ambience and friendly greeting from Sarah. We enjoyed a beautiful slow roast pork belly with all the trimmings and we just couldn't fault it. Our starters too were excellent and light and deserts were to die for, especially the almond panacotta. We can't wait to come back. Everything freshly prepared and cooked so you do need to be prepared to wait on a Sunday. But it's definitely worth it.

First time at the White Hart. Food outstanding. Staff outstanding. My husband and I will definitely be returning. Our only observation is to put a few more two’s together as we were drowned out a bit by tables of four around us.

Our second visit was just as fabulous as our last one, which was during the summer. The food was delicious, the staff were friendly and attentive and the building is stunning, so what’s not to like. We will definitely be back.

We visited for the sunday roast and had the pork and the chicken. The food was well prepared, well presented and very tasty. The crackling on the pork was unusual being like a long straw sized piece very gastro! The pork doesn’t come with yorkshire. Side veg were lovely and portions were well sized, £35 wasn’t a stupid price but would say its top end for what you get. Kids roasts at £12 are very good value. Pub is very comfortable, staff were attentive and food was served pretty quickly

We had a fabulous dinner at The White Hart. We were hosting friends visiting from Australia and they were impressed by the high quality of the food and the atmosphere. The service was also excellent. Our only minor complaint would be the high volume conversations (at times bordering on shouting) on the adjacent table which made conversation at our table difficult on occasion. But despite this our dinner was at the very top end for a village pub.

Both ate three courses from the set menu, all were superb the chicken terrine starter was truly exceptional.

The food was outstanding. It was beautifully presented and more importantly was delicious. The menu had a lot of original and interesting dishes so we'll be back soon! The service was fantastic. The young man who served us had attention to detail and a friendly and thoughtful manner with out being overly familiar, which a tricky balance but he achieved it.

Awesome Sunday Roast, excellent 6x Ale, Staff exceptional We felt spoilt, we both chose the Roast Belly Pork ( Locally sourced) followed by Sticky Toffee Pudding... Cheese & Biscuits polished off with a Large Glass of Pinot Noir...

A new venue for us and it didn’t disappoint. The food, ambience and the service was vey good and we enjoyed the whole meal.

Always delicious food which looks amazing too. We sat in the bar area which was a bit noisy - would have preferred to be in the restaurant area but dinner was just as good as always.
