We went to the Wee Vinoteca for the Supper Club event on Valentine’s day and we had an amazing evening. Excellent and refined food paired with delicious and delicate wines and a fabulous host that spoke about the food/ wine pairing before serving each dish. We had a wonderful evening and will be back!

Best bar in herts lives up to its name! Staff make your feel like it's your front room and they have known you forever. The manager Dom is very knowledgeable about your wine desires and can cater to what ever your pallet is after. This personable, down to earth and cosy spot is great for all occasions, dates, friends catching up, birthdays, on your own with a good book or for just people watching! The team always look after you and make you feel welcome no matter what your level of wine knowledge and the range of wonderful and different wines is great. It’s one of my favourite places to come and so worth a visit!

My wife and I absolutely love coming here. We come for the regular supper club and wine tasting events - and also to buy wine. It's a wonderful venue with very friendly and knowledgeable hosts - Dom and Matthew in particular. The place has a marvellous ambience - and of course so easy to get to, being just off the high street. The Wee Vinoteca is our "go-to" place in Hitchin now. The wine itself comes from independent, often family producers chosen carefully by the staff. I cannot recommend this place highly enough. It has been a great discovery - a gift that keeps on giving. We'll be returning here on a regular basis; a real home from home.

Dania and Megan were tremendous hosts and provided great advice on delicious wines. The Argentinian merlot and champagne hit the spot.

Dom is so knowledgeable! He cohosted the “wine not pairing” with cawsburger which was a fabulous night! His wine pairing were fantastic and worked so well! Wouldn’t have thought of pairing desser wine with chicken and waffles but it was great - almost mimicking maple syrup but fresher! Will be popping by the shop so we can recreate at home!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Fantastic wine and food pairing hosted by Duncan! This was a great evening with friends , I can’t believe how much I learned in such a short space of time. The evening was really well worked out and the wines were all excellent. Duncan was very helpful and approachable and explained everything in great detail. We will definitely be back for another evening like this.

Myself and some friends attended a comedy event that The Wee Vinoteca hosted at Hitchin Cricket Club, and it was a super evening to say the least. The event ran smoothly, the comedians were hilarious, snacks and drinks were top tier. Couldn’t have asked for a better evening! Highly recommend and extremely good value. Thank you Wee Vinoteca! Lovely afternoon / early evening wines. We selected to have the 3 glass flights of fines, and we had a great selection of wines we wouldn’t normally buy . Great service from Charlie and Dania toped it off defiantly give it a try of you have not been.

Easily the best wine bar in Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire. Fantastic range by the glass with wonderful staff to help you find something you'll love. The bottle range to is great too. A perfect balance of delicious and interesting/unusual wines that offer great value. A must visit if you're in the area.

Had a great evening on Thursday. The wine suggestions were spot on, the cheese and meat boards were divine and the service was excellent. What was meant to be an one-drink place ended up being a lot longer.

We've been to a few of their events and are really keen to support a small local business. Have previously been to a lunch and wine tasting event and a Christmas wine tasting event, both excellent! Went to another lunch and wine tasting event recently and it was a very different experience. The tickets aren't cheap so it feels like a treat, especially in a cost of living crisis. We arrived and the place was packed, a little too packed. We were given 'lunch' which this time around was some charcuterie snacks. The wine tasting was half a glass (of a small glass) of 4 Italian wines. And that was it. When we went to a lunch and wine tasting there in June last year it was excellent - 2 glasses of each wine and a generous and delicious buffet lunch. We had a wonderful time (birthday present for the boyfriend) and since then I keep booking onto their events to support the business. But this event was really disappointing. I think they either need to provide a proper lunch like they were last year, or don't advertise the event as a lunch wine tasting and maybe schedule it for mid to late afternoon when people won't be disappointed if there're only snacks on offer. I'll still book onto their events but not a lunch and wine tasting again I'm afraid, as it really didn't feel like a good way to spend £70.

It’s boutique, it’s relaxed, it’s perfect. The team are extremely knowledgeable and refined. They know their stuff and create a very relaxing and enjoyable environment. Can’t recommend highly enough.

I visit wee vinoteca a lot. Duncan has a great selection of wines at a good price. He’s also organised a wine staying for me which was a great success. He’s now supplying me my mum and sister with some very well chosen wines.

I attended the WSET level 1 course at the Wee Vinoteca and greatly enjoyed it. I have learned a lot of interesting information about wine that allows me to enjoy it more. Duncan is a great teacher and stocks some amazing wine. Highly recommended.

We had a groupon voucher given to us as a gift for a wine tasting experience, we arrived to be seated and given a menu of wines and told to choose 3 then a plate of charcuterie which was ok but only had 3 small pieces of dried bread between 2 of us. When the young lady bought the 3 chosen glasses over she asked if we would like her to explain, I thought this would’ve been part of the experience! She did explain then walked away and we figured it out for ourselves however the wines were very nice and we ordered ourselves another glass of red which I was disappointed it wasn’t served in a appropriate glass. I felt because we came as a groupon customer we were not treated the same as other customers as they were given water alongside there order we had to ask. I didn’t feel we learnt anything about wine as we have done in other wine tasting experiences

My wife and I hired out the ground floor of the wine bar for our family of twenty to celebrate our daughter’s 21st birthday. Essentially we drank six different wines during the evening which Duncan had selected In advance. These were fantastic and when each glass was poured if you wanted any background on the wine then he was very happy to chat to you about thisThe wine was complemented with meat and cheese platters and also for those people who did not drink wine then they were looked after with other drink optionsOur daughter and family loved the evening which felt special and a little different. Duncan and Maisie were brilliant ensuring everybody had a great time and I would highly recommend a visit either on your own, as a couple or as a larger group like ours.

I went to The Wee Vinoteca with my daughter, who had paid for the evening as a present for my birthday. We both thoroughly enjoyed the wine tasting of Rioja wines because of the ambience of the location; the friendliness of the hosts; the food; and the quality of the wines. We would definitely go again.

I discovered “The Wee Vinoteca” at the Hitchin town food festival, after trying the Talo red wine and their amazing “chocolate for wine” range I vowed to pop in to their bar and shop. I was not disappointed, real homely environment and comfortable friendly surroundings. The staff were amazing and so helpful, we were seated in the tasting room and looked after like royalty by the team. The wine was fabulous and gave me and my friends the time to chat and catch up in a great space. Before we knew it bottle 2 was flowing and I left with 2 more bottles under my arm. I wish them well and will be back, they have something special going on.

I’ve been in a few times now and have only had amazing wine!!! Duncan talks about wine with such passion and knowledge but at a level that a lay person like me can understand! Attended one of his wine tasting events and was blown away... already booked into another one! An absolutely amazing addition to Hitchin!

We try to come here on Saturdays around 5pm so that we can have a nice relaxing drink before putting our toddler to bed. Duncan and Hannah are always so welcoming and their staff Kat and Maisie are lovely. Duncan really knows his stuff but is totally unpretentious so you can chat about wine as much or as little as you want. It's child friendly in there too although can be hard with a pram when it's busy! I can't rate this place highly enough.

I popped in to the Wee Vinoteca with my dog - what a fantastic decision! It’s a wonderful little wine bar with so much charm. The owners Duncan and Kate are so friendly and their dog Bella was absolutely gorgeous. I went for a white wine on Duncan’s recommendation, which was bang on what I’d described. I loved it so much that I booked myself and my other half one of the tasting events and we are popping in this afternoon for another glass or two.

I'd read about The Wee Vinoteca in Hertfordshire Life and being in Hitchin today decided to pop in. Good decision! Very friendly and knowledgeable staff - a young husband and wife team - and a great way to learn about, taste and buy wines. We had two wine flights, one red and one white, so tasted six wines in all, all chosen by Duncan. We had the meat and cheese platter to go with it. All the wines were well explained and we ended up buying a bottle of our favourite white, from Puglia, and red, from Tuscany, to enjoy at home. The tastings and themed events look very interesting and we will certainly be aiming to attend one or more of these soon. I'd seriously recommend this place to anyone who enjoys wine or wants to learn more! Thank you!

Popped into sample some of the wines on offer from this new bar in Hitchin.

We came for a celebratory glass of wine last Thursday evening and it was exactly the relaxed but special evening we had in mind. We cosied up in the snug at the front of the wine bar. My boyfriend (really) enjoyed his glass of Malbec and I went for the 3 wine tasting option (100% recommend if you want a taste of a few wines!). The wine matrices on the menu are extremely helpful in choosing your wine(s) for the night - ranked by taste (light to heavy), good to excellent and price it is a simple, fun and effective way to introduce the wines. Our waitress (who we didn't catch the name of - my apologies!) was very friendly, so knowledgable about the wine and ensured we had a very pleasant evening. Would also definitely recommend the cheeseboard, a great selection, and delicious oat cakes and biscotti to accompany. We have already planned to return next week with out of town visitors! A great addition to Hitchin and very deserving of the Best New Comer award - Congratulations Duncan and team!

Just had a fabulous afternoon at wee vinoteca in Hitchin. We tasted red and white wines from around the world accopanied by a lovely charcuterie. We had some Scottish sourced biscuits to accompany the cheese which were out of this world. Duncan and Hannah are genuinly lovely people and their knowledge is second to none. They are so accommodating and cater for private functions, different wine tastes and budgets.

We tried the Valentines Night evening where, for £50, you got to share a half bottle of pink champagne and a meat board, cheese board and dessert board. It's a small place so we shared a table and this was actually the highlight of the night - the two other couples were great fun and we had a real laugh.

I love visiting the Wee Vinotecca. Duncan and team are extremely friendly and knowledgable and there is always a relaxed atmosphere. Perfect for either taking a bottle (or two) away or sitting in, trying a wine flight with some delicious cheese and meats. There are options to fit all budgets!

I first heard about The Wee Vinoteca opening when I saw an advert in the local newspaper and I couldn’t wait to get down there to see what it had to offer.

The Wee Vinoteca is a very special place and space. A great concept of wine shop come wine bar. Enjoy a glass of great tasting wine or buy bottles to take home, make sure you ask Duncan for his recommendation, as we ended up with a Macedonian red and walked away with several bottles it was so good! Whilst you enjoy a wine, try their sharing platters of cheese and charcuterie - they’re delicious and there’s nothing I like more than enjoying wine with antipasti.
