The Weavers Shed in Kirklees

Menu is very limited and is of poor quality, no steak which for a restaurant is strange . Used to be good .nice settings but unless you want you want a hanging kebab then you’re stuck for choice .

I had another five night stay at the Weaver's shed and yet again the experience was fantastic. Everything is five stars including the accommodation, food & drink, staff and facilities. I cannot find fault with anything and would recommend to anyone who needs an exciting experience to book a stay.

Perfect spot for a walking trip and a gig nearby. Food and service were spot-on, and my room was lovely. I stay in lots of hotels for work and leisure and this was the most pleasant stay I've had in a long time.

Just had a beautiful meal here, although there was a reduced menu the meal I had made up for the lack of choice Unfortunately I didn’t get the Waitresses name she was superb, apologised before we sat down about the menu and gave first class service , with a smile, throughout the evening

we visited with the family for Sunday lunch which was delicious and great prices with 1-3 course options too, highly recommend!

Top place to stay. Great wedding venue, lovely owner, great staff, interesting history, fabulous decor and restoration. Food very good value. Highly recommend

Our wedding. From the start of our wedding celebrations to the very end we can not praise The Weavers Shed enough. If we could give them more than 5 starts we would. The staff and attention to detail was 1st class. We cannot recommend enough. We had a fantastic day. The food was excellent the day flowed perfectly. The rooms were of a very high standard and again the attention to detail was perfect. If you are thinking about choosing The Weavers Shed for your special day you will not be disappointed. A massive thank you to Jason and his team for making our day so very special

What a massive improvement in the quality of the food since we last visited. Our meal was excellent. The only reason, I’ve not given a 5 is that a service charge was added to our bill of 10% and this charge was also added to drinks. That’s a bit rich really. The waitress did say that it could be removed, but that’s not the point. It’s the fact that it’s presumed that guests will pay it which grates somewhat. We always tip if it’s good, but on our terms. We will come back, but will go to the bar for drinks which are dear enough without adding in an extra service charge.

I had a five night stay and it was exceptional with everything spot on. Because of my experience. I booked a further two night stay the next month and that too was the same, very every good.

An interesting place that with more attention to detail could be good. The good:- Comfortable room Friendly staff Good shower (when water is hot) Nice conversion of old building Parking Nice bar area The other First room heating not on on arrival (3C outside) - three hours later still an ice box (changed rooms) Water ran cold 1/2 way through second persons shower (two mornings in a row) Could be cleaner (cups, dusting etc) Tv Channels (full free view in first room - only about 10 channels in second - eg no BBC at all) No breakfast available “Artwork” sums up lack of attention to detail - see picture

Never been before so gave it a try lovely place nicely done out really liked it. The service was a bit strange never asked if everything was ok or if we wanted anymore drinks just brought the food and that was it The food I can’t say was bad just lacking in a bit of imagination on the lunch menu not a great deal of choice so I was disappointed the fish pie wasn’t available so opted for a halloumi kebab which wasn’t bad. It could be really good but won’t rush back

Absolutely fantastic decor/ambiance and (thankfully) appropriate background music. Great service, good food and that’s just Lunch. We had fish and chips. But talking with the Owner there is much more on offer here with romantic meals for two (or ‘well behaved’ parties), themed nights including Dinner, special events & tribute acts. This is not a place to be dismissed lightly. We’ll come back.

This place frustrates me so much because it could be so good but time after time disappoints. Went for tea looking forward to a hanging kebab (advertised on Facebook as being available that evening). We asked the waitress as no sign of them on menu. We were told they stopped at 4pm even though the venue itself replied to a comment on Facebook saying they were available all day. First annoyance. We weren’t asked for drinks when we were seated, it was about ten minutes later at which the server asked if we were ready to order food. Usually a drink first would be nice. We ordered a beef with mash and mushrooms and a Thai red curry. £17 and £16 main courses. I would say neither were great sized main courses. The red curry in-particular was really tiny. The dome of rice served with it was nearly none existent. It’s just rice? Pretty inexpensive at least give a decent portion. Also it was literally just rice with a red sauce and a small amount of pak Choi. It was eaten in around 2 minutes! The beef was better but nothing to shout home about and no veg with it at all. Also didn’t notice any sides on the menu? Kids menu unimaginative and again pizza just on its own a few slices. Either serve a whole pizza or serve it with an option of fries? Service slow as usual, no one came and asked if everything ok with our food, had to get up and pay for the bill at the bar. We won’t be back I’m sad to say I’m a bit tired of giving this place chances only to be let down.

Cleaning requires attention, room was dusty, cobwebs on lamps and ceilings, stains and cigarette burns on carpets and damp patches to ceiling above bed. This was a suite and was not cheap so the cleaners need to pay more attention, even the lamps were stained, as was the sofa and pouffe. Shame as the food in the restaurant was 5* unfortunately the room was what we booked the restaurant was an afterthought and not the reason we chose this place to stay at.

First time visit on Saturday we had a family lunch for 3 adults and 2 children which was delicious, service fabulous and the whole experience was wonderful, so much so that we went as a couple on the Sunday for lunch which did not disappoint. The beef melted in your mouth, the vegetables cooked to perfection and we had desserts too! The food was excellent as was the friendly service. Cannot recommend highly enough, we shall be back :)

Beautiful setting. Views from the bedroom and a very comfortable bed. Just me and my 4 year old daughter that loved playing in the garden. Thank you Jason for a relaxing and peaceful stay! Eggs were lovely and would highly recommend to anyone. Fabulous!

Had a fabulous night's stay at this beautiful and recently renovated hotel for my husband's birthday. The garden areas are well maintained and peaceful, a lovely relaxing lounge area adjacent to the bar and the bedrooms are tastefully decorated, with wonderful bathrooms. Although the summer dining menu is limited; the food is of great quality - and we would definitely recommend the desserts! Olivia made our stay more personal and enjoyable with her extra care and thought; lovely lady with fantastic customer service. Would definitely recommend and stay here again.

Just had a lovely Sunday lunch/belated fathers day from here,was the best slow roast belly pork ever just melted and the beef looked really good too,well done, we will definitely be back.
