Kerry served us and is extremely friendly and efficient too. The fish and chips (the fish mainly), was superb. So crispy and I reckon better than the fish and chip shops around here!

Visited with my partner for the lunch deal wrap, food was great, service was amazing from our server Kerry, attention to detail and friendliness goes such a long way, would highly recommend 👌🏻

Having lived in the area for quite some time, I am now baffled at how it has taken so long to visit. From the moment we walked in, we were made to feel welcome, the pub itself was very homely and clean. Great menu options and the specials were varied also. The staff helped make great recommendations when faced with multiple choices. Only sad note was missing out on the limencello tart (missed it by 10 minutes), however the second choice was great. Will be coming back and have already been recommending to friends.

We always enjoy visiting the Wealden hall. It was lovely to have the open fires going. Good selection of beers and spirits. Food has always been good when we have ate here.

After hearing about this pub we decided to head in for lunch a few weeks ago. The manager Bryony was very friendly and recommended a turkey and cranberry burger which was very good. We was also served by Kev and Adrian who did a great job and were very passionate about the pub and the buildings history. Will definitely be returning.

A Perfect Spot for Christmas Dinner & More! We booked Wealden Hall for our Christmas dinner, and it was an amazing experience! The food was delicious and well-prepared, with great quality and taste. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, making it a perfect place for families to relax and enjoy a long meal. The staff were friendly and attentive, ensuring we had a great time. The bar facilities are also a nice addition for those looking to enjoy drinks with friends. Overall, a fantastic place for both family gatherings and casual meetups. Highly recommended!

Pub meal on my own. Chose this venue as it was walking distance from where I was staying. Large choice on menu, I had the mixed grill, with a sauce. Total cost was just over £26 for food above and pint of draft lager. This was a Monday night, so plenty of tables. Order food at the bar. The food was lovely and steak cooked to order (medium).

After hearing about this place from others we decided to come in for lunch on New Years Day. The pub has lots of character and we was advised the building has likely been around since the 1300s. We was looked after by Kev who was friendly and helpful, and also passionate about the buildings history as well as being served by Alex and Adrian. We will definitely be returning.

Half the menu not available, ordered food, no staff had allergy information. Staff came and said what we ordered wasn't available (half an hour after originally ordered) Waited an hour for starters, no apology or anything. Horrible place horrible service, don't waste your time.

We were greeted at the bar and directed to our private dining room. The bar staff were cheerful, helpful and the prices reasonable. Our servers were polite and attentive with the food delivered quickly. The meals were a piping hot, the meat tender and the seasonable veg. attractive, tasty and plentiful. The empty plates were cleared quickly and the courses served promptly. All in all dining at the Wealden Hall was a very good experience and I’d have no hesitation in recommending the venue.

As a family we have held 4 celebrations in the function room upstairs. Every single time the staff have been absolutely amazing. Accommodating, helpful, happy to help and let us do our thing with regards to decorating and moving furniture about to suit our needs - even hunting high and low for the TV remote so we could play a slide show. The function room is a lovely space with its own bar and toilets and has a cosy feel despite being quite a big area. Lots of room for a dance floor and spaces for people to sit together. Food is always good and lots of options. Would always recommend and thank you to all the staff for making it so easy and making us feel welcome and comfortable every time.

A lovely old fashioned pub/restaurant just outside of Maidstone,Kent. I parked in their large free car park. Note that there are no parking restrictions. The pub is an old building with large oak beams, watch you don't bump your head in some areas. There are plenty of tables and I would imagine the area around the lovely open fire is rarely empty during the cold months. There is also a large outside seating area which is patio styled with plenty of wooden tables. The pub is run by Greene King and is more upmarket than usual and this is reflected in the menu and the pricing. I had some nachos which was a large portion and the tortilla chips were home made ( see pic ) very nice but at £9.75 the most I've paid in a Greene King pub. I saw various meals come to tables and all looked good and it's not all chips,chips,chips. They have the two meals deal but it's set at £14.99 hear which again is on the higher side but portions are generous. They still have some great offers on drinks with cocktails and spritzers at just £5.99. All staff I came into contact with were polite and friendly. This would be a great place for special occasions as the surroundings are lovely. Visited on 10/12/24 and was a little disappointed..trying to run everything with just one member of staff simply did not work. Tables were left with plates and glasses and there were times when no one was at the bar to serve

Bit of a mixed review. Normally, we love this place. Always rate it highly to everyone. Long wait for dessert 45 minutes.but it was fine, the service by the man (manager) was spot on and the food was very good so thank you. Went to pay using a blue light card. Told abruptly that they couldn't do blue light on the festive menu. Okay, but the table of 4 next to us literally just had, the helpful gentleman server (manager) had sorted this all out for them no problem, so of course we assumed it would be the same for us? Told needed app on the phone if we wanted to even try and use our blue light. Made to feel very uncomfortable, no kindness, or "Let's see if we can sort this for you" by the lady at the till, very taken aback by her lack of customer service. So, we just said don't worry as a queue behind us, and her rudness was making us feel like we were trying to get something we clearly were not entitled to. That end of service point ruined the whole experience, and we won't ever be back now. Despite being weekly regulars for many years.

Food was okay but not very hot. Mashed potato has a crusty dry ring round it - most strange. Service was very slow - maybe why food was lukewarm. No coffee machine so refused a mini dessert (usually served with a coffee). Surely dessert could of been offered half price.

Visited for dinner as we were staying locally. The EV car charging in the car park was very useful. We visited with a guide dog and received a very warm welcome-Alex found us a great table in a quiet, cosy corner. Our waitress Mia was very attentive and personable. Our food was good quality and delicious - it far surpassed our expectations of ‘pub grub’.

Have been here a couple of times now with family and will definitely be back! Today went with my Mum, Sister and Son 3 of us had the senior menus, absolute bargain! We were waited on by Kerry, who was an absolute star, nothing was too much trouble. Excellent service!

Went on Sunday 29th September with some friends, had a lovely meal and was served by Kerry who could not do enough for us, she is an asset to the place.

Kelly served us and honestly she was great. Food was fairly priced and very tasty. I had the scampi and chips and my wife had Katie chicken curry.

Had mixed grill and lamb Henry no veg with mixed grill but everything on was nice lamb Henry bit cold but tasted very nice sweets very nice well worth having If you have room for them. Dog friendly to which is great,they had live music on when we visited.

Great atmosphere old world pub lunch menu was good. Special menu for seniors who like smaller portions.

A really lovely restaurant, with plenty of seating both indside and outside. 9 of us had a lovely time, drinks and food were great, with a very wide choice of everything. Kids menu was ideal. All the staff were very friendly and helpful considering how busy they were.

What can I say. This 14th Century pub is amazing. Parking...easy! Bar staff...welcoming smile and no problems when I made a slight adjustment to my food order. Then there's the food. OMG...Emily, the chef...you are amazing. Katsu Curry for me, Lasagne for my wife...both so good! We WILL be returning...don't take my word for it. Come and try this little gem for yourself...you won't be sorry. Again, Emily...thank you! X

We have several pints of beer and wraps. The food was very well prepared and delicious. We went for our friend's birthday and will definitely come back again.

The pub is rustic which attracted us to pay it a visit, it's clean and has stone flooring we received a great service, from the guy behind the bar who was friendly and welcoming, to the staff that brought out our food and the chefs cooking. We would definitely go again and would recommend a visit.

Went a few days ago and was served by Kerry who was lovely and friendly and served me fresh £2 pints of Fosters with a nice bit of pie and mash. Cameron the bartender is always a joy to talk to, too.

Went here for dinner this evening can’t fault a thing. We had 2 beef roasts OMG they were Devine, we will def visit again. Nothing was a problem, nice warm plates. I’m sure the chefs name was Emily the lad who brought our food out was Conner and I can’t remember the young girls name who served us, I think she was new. Above all great time

This is a very nice place to be any time

The waiter dropped the halumy fries on the table and asked us if we still want to eat them. The waiter picked up the fries by hands and put them back on the plate. We asked for a new portion. The new portion arrived 4min later despite it took them at least 30 minutes to serve it initially. Also, the lettuce garnish in the Hunter`s Chicken wasn't fresh at all. On the way home, after sharing our experience with the manager, we've been offered a partial refund.

Food was terrible instant mash (they admitted it was frozen) cold tasteless peas again not fresh and tebderstem broccoli is what was listed !!! I got a full refund but terrible quality and they seemed ok with that!!!!

The service was really good, the Staff (2x ladies) were welcoming and attentive. This was quite a refreshing experience compared to usual "get in and being hurried out nature restaurants have now" thank you, customer service done right and all with a smile. The Wealden Hall Public House, located at London Road in East Malling, Aylesford, is a historically significant building dating back to the late 14th century. Originally a farmhouse, it has been modified over centuries and now serves as a restaurant. The building's main block showcases exposed timber framing with curved braces and brick infilling, characteristic of its medieval origins. The service and solar ends are jettied forward on brackets and joists, and the structure includes a central recess supported by two curved braces, plain tiled hipped roofs with gablets, and various architectural features like a dragon post and a gabled stair-tower at the rear. In the mid-17th century, an extension was added, enhancing its historical and architectural value. This addition features a timber-framed upper floor, rubble stone ground floor with brick dressings, and a central ridge stack. The Wealden Hall is a Grade II* listed building, recognized for its architectural and historic significance, and has been officially listed since February 1987. Excellent food, and drinks, with a warm welcome & friendly atmosphere. The staff is attentive when entering this establishment offering a cosy, traditional pub ambience which enhances their dining experience. Regarding the food, the menu offers a variety of traditional British pub dishes: steak and ale pie, lamb shank, and fish and chips. I specifically commend the chicken and ham pie being a standout dish. Drink options are also well-rated, with a good selection of ales, lagers, and wines. A large outside seating area with parasols. Hi, I had a great time having lunch with a friend at Wealden, we both enjoyed the katsu chicken curries. The food came out hot and delicious and in a timely manner. Great atmosphere and friendly service by Kerry and Jay. There was an excellent deal on and some great lunch time options too. Highly recommend

Great experience with Wealdwn Hall. I visited on a work trip and ate there again my second night as the first night was so good. Steak was cooked perfectly and lovely friendly staff, especially Kerry who took my order and looked after me. A very happy customer. Will definitely be back

It's a shame you can't just pop into this pub for a drink, bar staff really rude, and told needed to book, even though lots of space. May have thought about food, or even returned, but not now. This experience was more about attitude of bar staff, as understand tables may have been needed. Certainly doesn't cater for the casual pop ins.

5 of us decide to pop in for a pint before moving on to our next destination. The girl behind the bar wasn't very welcoming. Will not be going there again.

Initially all seemed good. However my son had ordered a burger which turned up without the bun! When I asked I was informed they had run out and the waitress that served should have told us. She hadn't. No apology and shocking and embarrassing. Should have sent it back but as other dishes had been served my son chose to endure this ridiculous situation. I had steak which wasn't great either.

It was a very lovely experience down there. I’ve been to the restaurant twice. 5 of the photos were on my Samsung in which the photo quality isn’t great, the other 5 on my iPhone where the photo quality is better. I went there with my classmates and teachers. Originally, we was supposed to go in December 2022, but due to the snow and learning from home, we couldn’t go. However, we eventually went there in January 2023. I had fish and chips along with garlic bread and an ice cream sundae (pics from my Samsung phone which the photo quality was poor) and it was lovely. The second time I went was in July of 2023, again with my classmates and teachers. We had the meal out hence one of the teachers was leaving our school. This time I had a starter being chicken strips. My main meal was the same delicious fish and chips. One of my friends gave me a waffle which was beautiful. (Second time I went, photos were on my iPhone and quality was even better). The staff were very friendly. I would 100000% go there again :)

Allbiet a last minute booking for just me and my mum! I would have expected better, £5.00 deposit paid in the week leading up to mothers day and then I realised that this was a Green King pub, its been a while but it used to be a privately owned restaurant (my mistake). None the less, we arrived on Mothers Day, we were initially sat next to an external fire exit, i asked to move to a different table as there was a cold draught, well the look and reaction from the lady was as if i had just ruined her day, from then on in she had a terrible attitude telling me all tables were allocated etc, they did eventually move us! All tables had reserved on them in an area that could seat 16, during our visit between 1pm and 2.40pm only 4 other people came into that area! In actual fact the whole place was not busy while we were there! Tells you something considering it was Mothers day! The staff were scruffy in tatty fleeces, big dangly lanyards, tracksuit bottoms etc, the food…well i opted for steak and ale pie, chips and veg with a side of onion rings, mum opted for roast lamb shank! Portion of chips for a child, inedible tenderstem broccoli it was like rubber, pie was bought in, pastry heavy but filling tasty. The roast potatoes were anemic and needed more cooking and the lamb shank was a bit tough, again suspect bought in ready done in a packet! We had deserts which were ok but again not great! There is no love here with the food, at best its bad! Actually bloody awful. Avoid at all risk!

Was visiting friends in Addington and they brought me here for an early Dinner. Lovey original Building with Low Wooden Beams inside giving it a really authentic feel. Very Good Menu - Food was very nice and staff lovely. Kerry was really friendly and attentive. I'd definitely go back her again.

We will not return to this pub as a group of four, three of whom were visiting for the first time. The initial service at the bar was pleasant, but during our second drink, we were informed that one of our party members was banned without any explanation. This staff member then displayed aggressive behavior towards our entire table, without providing any further clarification. It seems that this issue was carried over from the previous management, as indicated by the intense stare and glare from a man at the bar, possibly the former manager. We strongly advise against visiting this establishment, as it fosters a hostile environment. Nothing wrong happened this evening, apart from poor management.

We used the first floor function suite for an engagement party. It's self contained, has a bar and toilets, and is a beautiful, huge, vaulted ceiling, oak beamed room. The buffet was delicious - sausage rolls were brilliant! The staff were friendly, so helpful all the time we were there, including when we were decorating the room with balloons etc. . They could have done no more for us and we are so grateful.

Service was great, Kerry is always lovely and smiley. Food was delicious and good value. The atmosphere in the pub is nice. I would recommend it.
