The Wealden Hall in Tonbridge and Malling

Was visiting friends in Addington and they brought me here for an early Dinner. Lovey original Building with Low Wooden Beams inside giving it a really authentic feel. Very Good Menu - Food was very nice and staff lovely. Kerry was really friendly and attentive. I'd definitely go back her again.

Allbiet a last minute booking for just me and my mum! I would have expected better, £5.00 deposit paid in the week leading up to mothers day and then I realised that this was a Green King pub, its been a while but it used to be a privately owned restaurant (my mistake). None the less, we arrived on Mothers Day, we were initially sat next to an external fire exit, i asked to move to a different table as there was a cold draught, well the look and reaction from the lady was as if i had just ruined her day, from then on in she had a terrible attitude telling me all tables were allocated etc, they did eventually move us! All tables had reserved on them in an area that could seat 16, during our visit between 1pm and 2.40pm only 4 other people came into that area! In actual fact the whole place was not busy while we were there! Tells you something considering it was Mothers day! The staff were scruffy in tatty fleeces, big dangly lanyards, tracksuit bottoms etc, the food…well i opted for steak and ale pie, chips and veg with a side of onion rings, mum opted for roast lamb shank! Portion of chips for a child, inedible tenderstem broccoli it was like rubber, pie was bought in, pastry heavy but filling tasty. The roast potatoes were anemic and needed more cooking and the lamb shank was a bit tough, again suspect bought in ready done in a packet! We had deserts which were ok but again not great! There is no love here with the food, at best its bad! Actually bloody awful. Avoid at all risk!

We used the first floor function suite for an engagement party. It's self contained, has a bar and toilets, and is a beautiful, huge, vaulted ceiling, oak beamed room. The buffet was delicious - sausage rolls were brilliant! The staff were friendly, so helpful all the time we were there, including when we were decorating the room with balloons etc. . They could have done no more for us and we are so grateful.

Waited over an hour for our starter's which when it finally arrived the salt and pepper said was extremely poorly cooked and like rubber. Main of fish and chips wasn't much better . Group of young ladies sitting near us didn't wait as long but young man gave them a free bottle of wine. Whilst others were offered nothing draw your own conclusions. Overall very poor service, obviously not enough staff and food very sub standard have ate better at a roadside cafe. IF THERE BUSY DEFINITELY AVOID AND WILL NOT BE RETURNING FAR BETTER PLACE'S TO EAT LOCALLY THAN THIS. The worst greene king pub I have ever visited.

We had an early dinner at Wealden Hall to celebrate our granddaughter's 21st Birthday on Sunday. The service was first class and we were looked after so well by all the staff. Nothing was too much trouble, including requests for plates & forks for a birthday cake that we took with us. Food was good too, everyone really enjoyed it, particularly the Birthday Girl. Thank you

We went on Sunday for lunch and it was lovely, the food was delicious, the Pub has such a lovely atmosphere, its over 650 years old with lots of original features, lots of parking around the back with a big seating area, we will be going back again.

Well after arriving we were given our table booking for festive menu well firstly waiter took our plates while i was still eating my starter and took food away from my dad he hadnt finnished then out comes the mains omg ive never eaten such an awful meal in my life 3 of us left it the potatoes were anaemic and my husband one was black all the way through sprouts were hard the carrots were about 4inch across and not cooked properly pigs in blankets were just awful i didnt have to pay for our main courses but being ive just lost my son 💔 and i was meeting up with my parents for the fist time since my sons funeral 😢 i havent left my house so it was a massive deal for me we also heard the other table complaing and the waitress ate a potatoe and agreed they were disgusting 🫣

Went here for a birthday meal, they came to take our drink order once, and the rest of the time we either had to call someone over or go to the bar. Food took over 45 minutes to arrive and when it did it was cold and not great. We then had to again go up to the bar and request to order our desserts and go to the bar to request the bill. Felt like the staff members were rushed off there feet and frustrated about being busy. Won't be returning for a meal anytime soon.

Had lunch here today. It was 11.55 when we ordered our food, it took 45 minutes for us to receive it. Very small portions for the price of the main menu. It was luke warm, one small piece of cold nearly raw broccoli, about 10 warm chips with the steak. Very disappointed and over priced.

Just had breakfast with Santa with my family and grandchildren ,we have all had an amazing time , very well organised children able to play and had a arts and crafts area to keep them occupied, Breakfast really nice and plenty of it . Saturday night my friend and I with my 8 year old son arrived at 8:30 for dinner. We were watched picking up the menus then a member of staff came to the table to tell us the kitchen was closed! They were still serving food to to other tables! We had already paid for a cab to get there as it was -2 degrees outside and the time was getting on to get another cab to go somewhere else! The service is disgusting there. I have been there before and never been particularly happy with the service the reason for going back is it is local to me. Te last time I went there and actually got food I ordered the hunters chicken you could barely taste the bbq sauce and the chicken was drier than the Sahara desert!

Ruined by a few of the toxic regulars, this nice building is regularly poisoned by the constant 'ag' and threat of imminent trouble that hangs in the air on a daily basis. From the potty mouthed woman in the main bar area to the constant arrival of one of the many shouty and aggressive drunks that frequent this place - you're guaranteed to want a quick exit. Management need to get a grip.

I visited Wealden Hall last Wednesday lunchtime for lunch with my elderly mother and friend. We were told there was a wait of 40 mins for food. This was a shame but honest and we decided to just have coffees. My mother was particularly disappointed as she wanted something sweet. The lovely lady who took our order went above and beyond to get us some scones straight away. This kind gesture was very much appreciated. Thank you kind lady, sorry I didn't get your name.

Lovely setting but the food was over rated. Probably could cope with 2 or 4 people at a time but definitely not a group. Meals being served warm and not together, and not of a great standard.

Sue was very attentive to us and friendly with the babies eating with us. Nothing was too much trouble. When I was holding my baby getting a drink she offered to help carry the drinks back to the table. Very nice meal out. Thank you Sue

Had a lovely meal this evening in memory of my mum on her birthday. We were served by Bryony who was so friendly, gave recommendations and checked everything was ok. Her recommendation of the biscuit cheesecake was spot on! Highly recommend. Great service.

First Date Lunch with husband for a long time. Wealden Hall is very local for us and glad we chose to keep it close. We both had a lovely lunch and was looked after really well by Kerry. She helped by recommending a very tasty lunch and was on hand serving our drinks and making sure we had everything we needed to enjoy our time together. Wealdon Hall was clean, friendly and very welcoming. Thank you Kerry for making us feel so welcome we will definitely be back soon.

Went in for lunch again yesterday. Service speedy, Sue was the lady who looked after us and couldn't have been more attentive. We had the two dishes for 14.99 offer. Scampi lovely, cooked just right (not hard like in some places) chips great too. Couldn't fault anything and great value too. Thank you muchly.

The venue looked really nice as we drive past it a lot and this was our first time dining. When we arrived there was a cue at the bar for a booked table reservation and another guy asking to pay his bill as nobody came to the table for him to pay. We should have left at that time....in general the service was poor with us asking for the menu then for drinks then for the finished starter to be taken away. Two dishes were sent back as they were not edible. We will certainly not be going back.
