The Waverley Inn in Elmbridge

Excellent service throughout our roast today. We had the pleasure of sitting right next to the chefs and experienced excellent service throughout from a young man. It was my first time visiting but will definitely be coming back 👍

We had only visited once before and had sat outside on that occasion but this time being November we were inside. Despite only securing a reservation in the late afternoon it was still busy with several guests some of who were families with children but all well behaved. The staff were well presented and courteous although we had to wait at the bar for quite a few minutes while they made cocktails (agh the curse of spending so much time making cocktails). Our starters were excellent although the portions were not generous especially for the money. Our mains, a Roast, Sea Bass and Halibut were all very good, well presented and the portions were good too. We declined the desserts but they were imaginative and very tempting. Will we go back. Yes absolutely, but perhaps the dessert instead of the starter next time. This is a great, slightly higher end alternative to the Three Horseshoes, Laleham

Chantelle is the highlight of the Waverley, she was so smiley, attentive and made our cocktails exactly how we liked them! We fancied some picky bits (after a little too much wine) and one waiter handed us a menu and the other gave her recommendations. Food was so delicious!! You have to try to croquettes on the specials. Thankyou to all the staff 💘 I can’t recommend this place enough!

I became a member of The Rarebreed Dining (has lots of perks) and was invited to an early Christmas themed tasting. The canapés where exceptional, absolutely delicious and the themed cocktails out of this world. Stayed for dinner, highlight is the mash potatoe and oysters. Steak cooked to perfection although so much we had to take home most of it. Service was wonderful. Thanks for a great evening!

We were impressed by the quality of the food (steaks and side dishes, as well as the pudding of the day) and by the friendly and very attentive team. The atmosphere was great and it was fairly busy but not too noisy (something we were worried about from a previous visit).

We took our mum here for her birthday, it was absolutely fantastic. We were first greeted by Kira who looked after us from start to finish, her service was absolutely incredible and we felt so looked after the entirety of our time there. We also ordered a few cocktails prepared by Mac at the bar which were absolutely delicious. And then the food, we had a couple starters then the tomahawk steak which was cooked to perfection by Szymon and Ewa. All in all it was an incredible experience and would definitely recommend the waverley to anyone looking for a great meal and experience in Weybridge.

This was the first time we had visited the Waverley and it is rare that I do a post but all 10 of us were very impressed. I was doubtful that we would find a place at such short notice on a Saturday evening for 10 people but Orlando spoke with the chef and phoned me back to confirm availability. That's a good start I thought and it was! We arrived, had some pre-dinner drinks and ordered our food. Starters: all good; mains: steak excellent, fish excellent; deserts: cheesecake excellent as too the sticky toffee puddings. This was all topped off with a relaxed atmosphere and excellent friendly service. So, thank you to Orlando and the Waverley team. We will see you again soon

Lovely atmosphere, attentive staff, good cocktails and food was delicious. I enjoyed the prawns for starters and the venison was full of flavour and tender. Lovely way to have a local quality dining experience.

The Waverley at Weybridge is a very good place for the quality of its food. It is, dare I say, relatively sophisticated. It's prices are not unreasonable for the quality of the food served and its cooking. The Sunday Lunch is excellent. Weekday lunches are lovely no matter what you choose or how little. The restaurant atmosphere is very nice and they have aged beef in a cooler by an open kitchen - which always impresses this writer (though I rarely eat beef). The staff are almost perfect. I would only winge that sometimes they use less skilled table waiters (but in our case we just felt sorry for the boy who was obviously a learner - you have to do what you have to do these days to keep a profit). All in all, I would always select The Waverley at Weybridge as one of my favourite go-to's.

Best place for drinks / dining out in Weybridge. This place is very special. Menu is fantastic, staff are all gorgeous. A touch on the pricey side, but you get what you pay for and we never fail to have a brilliant time at the Waverley.

This is such a cozy pub with a nice outdoor seating area. The steak sandwich is delicious and I was even a fan of their chunky chips (which I usually am not). They have a great selection of cocktails 💅🏼

Pleasant service from the antipodean pair

The Waverley Inn provided an outstanding level of customer service. In particular, Rafe was both efficient with his service as well as exceptionally polite and helpful to me and my party.

I invited my niece for a late Sunday lunch at the Waverley Inn. The service was really friendly, everyone smiled and made us feel welcome. Adam, who served us, was exceptionally attentive and cordial. “The Roast for 2” was beautifully presented on a stand with a selection of rare sirloin of beef, scrumptious pork belly and a succulent supreme of chicken…accompanied by all the traditional trimmings. A real Feast! Compliments to the Chef. Will definitely be back for more.

Very limited menu, totally overpriced to the point of being insulting. If you want to pay around £44 for a mediocre steak and chips you’ve just found your place!!!

Callum and his team were absolutely amazing for my daughter’s wedding reception last Saturday. The service provided by Callum, the waiters , waitresses bar staff and kitchen staff was superb. Our 3 course meal was delicious and we all had a great afternoon/evening. Thank you all so very much for your 5 star service.

Was at a private wedding reception at the weekend and this place was fantastic, the food and drinks were brilliant but what compelled me to come on and write a review was the service and staff!!!! I had the pleasure of experiencing the Waverley at its very best. From the very minute of entering the venue we were greeted by Emily and Jade and nothing felt too much trouble for them. The service was exceptional and could only be rivalled by the depth and quality of the food. The occasion was work and the Waverley team managed the 18 people with elegance. Thank you for the experience, we will be returning. 🙂

We booked a table for 10 for a birthday celebration, and it was an unforgettable experience. Every single dish was incredible, and even the vegans in our group said it was some of the best food they've had out.The cocktails were outstanding as well. The staff were incredibly accommodating and made us feel right at home. Cannot recommend this place enough.

Brilliant! We were a large group of 11. The food was absolutely mouth watering, the service was attentive but not annoying (like some places can be) and the atmosphere was great. I saw they’re doing live music so will definitely be coming back.

I’ve lunched here twice this week. I’m recuperating with family after a bad cycling accident . The big attractions for me were the gluten free fish and chips, the great service and the lovely bar area. The interior looks great and I’m told by management that they are seeking to introduce a couple of gluten free ale options. I’m really pleased and I’d like to come back and sample them when my body is working. Far too many pubs and restaurants are missing out on attracting the increasing number of customers that either can’t eat gluten or choose not to. Anyway, my food was excellent (so much so that I ordered the cider battered fish and chips for two days on the trot). I’ve eaten with two friends who thoroughly enjoyed their fish and chips the Caesar salad and the deserts. Oh, and the coffees are very good.

Outrageous prices on food. 150.00 for a tomahawk on the bone. 25.00 to 35 from my supplier!! Drink was out or bad. Not enough selection. Importantly, this is a non exceptance of cash!!! They need to get real and stop refusing legal tender. Also stop supporting plastic!°

Cracking little pub great outdoors area good time

Stumbled into this place with no booking today and were so pleasantly surprised. We had 3 courses each, all of which were fantastic value and quality - Sunday roast portions were fantastic and the beef was some of the best I’ve had in a long time. My partner said similar of his lobster main. The outside terrace was perfect for such a sunny day, but the inside is just as nice, and the place felt atmospherically busy without ever feeling cramped. Service was exceptional - we were looked after by 4 different staff during our (3 hour) sitting, and all 4 were genuinely delightful. It’s pretty rare for us to have service so friendly and helpful (as well as efficient) when in London. Sorry we didn’t catch your names, but we want to say a big thank you to you all. If you’re ever in the area, we can’t recommend the Waverley Inn highly enough.

Wow that was a horrible experience. We went in for the first time for some cocktails, the bar crew were perfectly nice and polite, received our cocktails nicely. Then the manager appeared and told us the whole place was booked and we need to leave in 3 minutes! He didn’t offer an alternative table as well. Even though the bar crew and the cocktails were nice, we wouldn’t bother to go there again. Perfect way to put off some locals.

We went to remember my Father in Law who passed one year today. The food was excellent, the wine was good, so my Wife said, and the atmosphere was pleasant. I think my Father in Law would have approved.

Fabulous! This is such a wonderful gastropub. The fish & chips with mushy peas and sticky toffee pudding with vanilla ice cream was fantastic.

Walked by today and decided to go in for some lunch and a pint, but the very unfriendly member of staff was too busy chatting to the other member of staff and told me the place was 'actually closed'. Much better options locally so I've given them my business instead

We visited today for the first time and must say, we thoroughly enjoyed it! The full English was delicious and the portions of food are so generous. My husband and daughter's food was great too. Great value for money too! Highly recommend if in Weybridge.

Visited today for lunch. Brilliant food. Great atmosphere and ambiance. However, I shared a chateaubriand with someone else in our group and it was not as described. It was in fact a flat iron steak which was charged and billed as a chateaubriand. Whilst tasty it is incredibly cheeky to charge £100+ for something which is falsely advertised. I’d be a little careful when visiting that the same doesn’t happen to you. Otherwise great.

Didn't have dinner this time. Cocktails and atmosphere were great as was the service.

Lunch at the Waverley is a real treat. The ambience is great and the staff add to that by being friendly, approachable whilst being super efficient. The food portions were more than adequate and along with the high quality makes it value for money. Good wine list but that’s a bit pricey!

We visited today with the family for a treat Sunday dinner, and what a treat it was. Atmosphere was lovely, service lovely and food was amazing. We will definitely be returning. I must say we loved the “invisible chips” fantastic idea. Thank you Janet and family.

I hosted a baby shower here in their garden room area and it was really lovely. The service was impeccable & the food was amazing. I’ve been to many afternoon teas but this was by far the best & definitely great value. Atmosphere feels upmarket & special while still being relaxed & down to earth - the perfect balance. The team were fantastic, very accommodating while arranging it and on the day. Highly recommend!

Great wagyu burger. Had a lovely double birthday celebration, and the staff were friendly and good at tending to our needs with a 20 month old.

Lovely 5star food. But 3 star service. We weren’t asked if we had any allergies so were given some truffles with nuts in. I’m sure the Bloody Mary was made by someone who’s never made one before. It was just tomato juice and vodka. For a £200 meal I would expect a lot more.

We visited The Waverley Inn on a sunny Sunday afternoon and enjoyed the lovely terrace out in front of the pub. We had a pork roast and a whole lobster (the latter being on the specials menu). The food was absolutely delicious and well presented, as were the drinks. Great wines, and craft lagers that are a welcome change from the standard Italian and Spanish brands. Nowadays, more often than not pubs seem to be run by unmotivated teenagers who have no idea about service, but that’s not the case at The Waverley Inn. All the staff are extremely nice, attentive and kind, which is a massive welcome. I can highly recommend this place, whether you are just going for a drink or for a nice meal out.

We were served by a handsome young man named Jack who flirted with me, very sweet of him, he's only human. We did not eat here, but I will be back to try the food and Jack.

Food was gorgeous, delicious, and generously portioned. From the minute we sat down the service was great, the staff recommended us wine that went with our meal, suggestions on sides and even a lovely fruit berry mocktail (which was lovely). Would def go there again.

The ginger haired girl with curly hair gave our table excellent customer service, the food was amazing as well.

What a perfect lunch. Service was excellent, the staff knowledgeable and always appeared you needed them but disappeared into the background perfectly when you didn’t. Service was slow. We requested more drinks and cutlery and this was never received. Received the wrong bill and when the correct one came, it had incorrect items added to it. Food is overpriced and underwhelming.

Dirty floor and seating (clearly from the previous day). Staff experience obviously an issue, huddled mainly at the bar together chatting for most of our visit. Wouldn't expect to see staff chewing in the restaurant and leaving their subway sandwiches along the bar either. Long gap between starters and mains. Chased children's meals, was told "I'll check for you" then saw waitress go back to the bar after she'd been to the kitchen, rather than return with an update. The meals turned up 5 minutes later but she hadn't come back to say anything. One meal sent back, replaced with an alternative and taken off the bill without being asked at least. Food fine for 'nice pub standard', but disappointing when at these prices. Paid service charge but to be honest did not feel justified. Didn't seem worth feeding back to the staff as they seemed more interested in having a chat. Paid up and left. First time visit but do not consider worth a second given service and value for money.

We had a lovely meal with my son and his girlfriend. The restaurant was nicely laid out and created a lively atmosphere. Not too noisy, whilst being almost full. The menu is a delight for meat lovers. Service was first class including the lovely touch of pre-oredered first cocktails. Main foccachia for the table followed by a chateaubriand, bavette steak and wagyu burger. The CB was not particularly to my liking and was mentioned to the staff as it was too tough. The bavette was delicious as was the burger. Deserts were gorgeous too. Without prompting the team provided a concession on the bill for the CB feedback. Great job all round Waverley.

Food was very good as usual but service was so slow. Saw a lot of fist bumping between staff- top tip, maybe check on customers first and then fist bump all you want….

Went for Mother’s Day and the food was delicious. The staff were lovely and the pub has wonderful decor.

We gave The waverley a second chance after the food was nice but unfortunately again the second time around the service was pretty poor. Both occasions we weren't acknowledged after waiting to be seated for quite some time, first occasion we waited over 30 minutes for somebody to come and take an order for drinks/food, we ended up having to grab somebody. Second time around was a little better time wise but not once were we asked if the food was OK or if we wanted any other drinks. Given the extortionate prices i do not feel the food or service reflects this.

My first experience here, staff were friendly, efficient and expressed a great knowledge of what they had on their menus. The steak…incredible! I normally head into London for a decent steak but now I don’t have to travel as far! Wine selection is good and the cocktails are amazing! Have since been back a second and third time…still not disappointed in any way.

No atmosphere and the staff woe I am shocked have never been to a pub/restaraunt where the staff are so oblivious to service customer service is non existent they are more interested in socialising at the bar area with each other everything we needed we had to get up and go to bar and ask for and then the long wait definitely would not go back such bad service and to slap service charge on a bill when clearly not one member of staff knows what service is

Had the best food here a few weeks back, everything was absolutely gorgeous! Chicken supreme was unlike anything I’ve had before, cottage pie croquettes were gorgeous…. Even the heritage tomato starter (ordered by a friend) was great!

Staff were friendly and professional. Food was well prepared and thoroughly enjoyed by all. All areas were clean. Bit pricey, but no complaints!

Lovely food and atmosphere. The only reason for giving it 4 stars as opposed to 5 is the staff are quite young and inexperienced....could do with more training. In addition, to be reminded more than once of the return time on the table is an off-put to the experience (we actually left the table 30mins before it was "due back"!).

Exceptional! Moved to the area recently and was looking for somewhere that serves exceptional food, without having to travel into London. Spot on. Steak was sensational with great overall ambience and experience with top class service. Will be going back many times!

A repeat visit today after an amazing Sunday lunch here a few weeks ago as a group of 8. A smaller group today but the same quality and service. Great food, lovely staff & great service. The Sunday roasts are fabulous!

Beautiful roast! We had the sharing roast so we were able to have all 3 meats. Every part of it was to die for, plus it had all the trimmings. Lovely service and nice setting.

This was our first visit to The Waverley as we are looking to move nearby soon and this will be our local pub. We visited late afternoon on a Sunday with our teen and tween. Warm, professional greeting from the hostess on arrival followed by friendly waitress service. We had two different cocktails, one from the specials board which was amazing and another from the standard menu which my husband said was the best he's ever had, I think it was the grapefruit martini. The roast pork definitely the best we've ever tasted. Really brilliant pub and we look forward to returning when we move to Weybridge hopefully in the very near future.

A great place for a cocktail and doggy friendly

Place was empty and yet service pretty absent, we had to leave our table a few times to get help. Fish arrived undercooked, was sent back and returned with no chips. Chips were undercooked and took ages to arrive. Burger and salad were nice. We were surrounded by flies indoors which was really irritating. Overall there are better places to eat nearby.
