Worst place I’ve ever been to. Staff are rude and highly unprofessional. Would not recommend this place at all and avoid this place

I will no longer be visiting this place after they housed migrants and turned there back on the loyal public for pure greed

So surprised to read negative reviews about the restaurant as we have just returned home from an excellent meal there! The pub/restaurant we had booked for the whole family (9 of us) to get together on New Years Day let us down at the last moment and we called to see if they could possibly help. The staff immediately rallied round to ensure we had a lovely time together! The service was superb, the choice of dishes excellent and the homemade food very , very good - we eat out lots and are very choosy about fresh produce and quality and this did not disappoint. We would not hesitate to return.

Well what can I say!! No wonder there were no customers at all in the restaurant for Sunday lunch. It was cold food had to send it back. A glass of wine 250mls served in a disgusting cheap glass marked 175mls when I queried this I was told they’d filled it to the top!! Then charged £9.95 for it. I’ve never even paid that in higher end restaurants. Glad I had a meerkats voucher as no way would I pay those prices. What a shame it used to be packed out in that restaurant years ago and so sad to see nobody is caring anymore about it. I think you need to get your act together and start looking after these places or they will vanish with nobody supporting them. We won’t be back or nor will I recommend. There are too many good eating venues out there. Maybe you should employ mystery shoppers if you are too busy to go around and give feedback. Lovely waitress that served us and was happy to give her a tip as it wasn’t her fault.

The lunch in itself was not too bad, although the roast potatoes were hard, and appeared to have been warmed up, but the Yorkshire puddings were absolutely atrocious. Both mine and my Mum’s were completely inedible. They were all like this, some worse than others, completely flat and rock hard! I did mention them to your Waitress, and she said she had wondered about them as she was fetching them out! To be honest, I cannot believe that your chef let them leave his kitchen like this, and neither can I understand anyone letting a customer order them as an extra item. I have emailed the hotel separately asking for any feedback, but have not received a reply. Christmas Lunch has been cancelled!

This restaurant is in the Best Western Milford Hotel and needs to be accessed from the southbound carriageway of the old A1 road. This is not difficult as it is quite close to a roundabout. We visited for lunch and the restaurant was not very busy. The lunch menu was not too extensive but provided us with sufficient choice. Our party of four had lunch at the Watermill on Thursday 30th January and very much enjoyed the food and the whole experience. The Watermill was offering a temporary menu whilst planning a significant new lunch offering of both a bistro type menu along with a full traditional lunch menu. We understand plans are well advanced but a check before booking would seem to be a wise move. If you do go in the immediate future, though, we all found the temporary menu to be well worth experiencing.

I am not a real meat eater and some say on the fussy side. I found not a lot of choice for me on the menu. However what I could eat or would eat was good quality. The service was very good staff friendly and helpful. Our meal was hot and was served quickly

We ordered the Steak and Ale Pie, Chicken Burger and a child's Lasagna, all were absolutely delicious.

great staff at this place !!! friendly warm and inviting but just ashame the establishment lets them all down !!! 2 pieces of garlic braead with cheese for 4.50 my god haha wudnt feed a four year old then got 4 filo prawns for 7 pound haha dont get me wrong they were ok but cum on lol ended up goin for a just eat !!! the rooms are good and the staff are sound but best weswtern in general are an absolute joke so be warned haha

The food here is second to none all freshly cooked and to have to wait long either the staff are very pleasant and always willing to go above and beyond to make sure that the service is five star

We have frequented this restaurant every week over many years and it’s true to say that last year when it was under different management the quality of meals dropped dramatically. However I’m pleased to say that things are now back to normal. The food is excellent and the service and staff are very welcoming and friendly under the leadership of Becca the Restaurant and Beverage Manager. Most of the original staff have now returned and there is a return of the regulars who go every week. If you haven’t been lately then give it another visit. I’m sure you’ll go back !

We booked for a meal for two using Tastecard. The food was great and the service good. We were disappointed that we were the only people in the restaurant at 7.00pm on a Saturday night. A bin near the kitchen door was still full of breakfast cereal packets and the toilets could have done with an inspection. Using the Tastecard made the meal fantastic value, but the full price was good for the quality received. We will be back.

We ate two cooked breakfasts and two evening meals, food came piping hot and particularly enjoyed the natural smoked haddock with poached egg which was lovely, plenty of freshly brewed coffee or tea and choice of juices, range of mini pastries

After several disappointments on previous visits I'm pleased to report the Watermill is back!!! From starter through to desert the food and service were spot on. Well done to the team. We will be back.

I booked a table for four through Meercat meals but the restaurant refused to honour the booking the staff said they had finished on Friday which was unusual as the offer was never available on a Friday

The Lunch Menu is interesting as it has subtle changes which we as regular visitors enjoy. The quality of the food is excellent and the service always friendly and efficient. At just under £16 it provides value for money.
