We went yesterday 11.08.24 and had the roast .... it was so delicious, we all piled in and forgot to take pictures .... and trust me we always take pictures. The new refurb is worth the trip alone ... Also the garden is perfect for this hot weather ... lovely tables and huge parasols and piped music .... give it a try ... you wont be dissapointed :) Big shout out to Steph and Hayley ... what amazing hosts you are but to be fair everyone was so welcoming and friendly .... we will without a doubt be back soon

I enjoyed a fun filled evening with friends at The Wateringbury last night, which has just had a complete revamp. The place looks amazing and the new menu has plenty of choices. My meal was absolutely delicious. What I love about this place is that they make everyone feel so welcome, even our dogs. Thank you Carrie and the team for a great night.

visited here for lunch with my mother greeted warmly and sat by a open log fire which was nice as it was cold outside food good service good.As others have noted parking was a bit tricky as they have works going on and the front of the pub is fenced off with metal barriers will visit again

We were warmly welcomed and enjoyed another good visit here. Parking trickier today due to ‘works’ but all ok. The fill English was tasty but not huge. That said, it was only £9.99. The service was efficient and friendly.

A lovely meal serviced by great staff the atmosphere was nice with the tables not to close together like too many restaurants.

Went to celebrate my husband’s birthday because we knew from experience that the food was good. We had a great welcome from the staff when we arrived and there was plenty of space for 9people for pre dinner drinks. The food was beautiful also the drinks were reasonably priced. Carrie made sure that everything went perfectly and finally when his desert arrived it had a lighted candle which brought an encore of happy birthday.

Stayed in the adjoining hotel for 2 nights, all of the staff in the Westingbury were very friendly and helpful, with a special mention for Carrie who always had a smile and a cheerful manner

Kids had a spoon full of Mac to eat - even a toddler asked for more bearing in mind it's a kids meal, WORST ROAST EVER, 100% all pre cooked and warmed up and the potato's were frozen and the size of a 2p ! Wouldn't recommend.

This was our first visit, which we enjoyed very much. The menu is varied and interesting, food was well cooked and presented. Service was good. All in all a lovely family lunch.

Very helpful & friendly staff. The food was good, with a reasonable choice, but the carpet throughout was threadbear & covered in patches of sticky tape.

First time of visiting and we think it will not be the last. The staff were very attentive, checking up to see if everything was OK, did we need anything else. The steak in the mixed grill was very tender and for a chain of pubs surpasses those of the Whitbread franchise who serve tough steak. Myself & my party of friends had the most absolutely amazing experience of hospitality. The staff were very accommodating/friendly & humorous. The food was delicious and felt like it was cooked @ home. Overall the atmosphere was fantastic, went home feeling with a warm glow. I would highly recommend the Wateringbury for a stop off , even if you just want a quick drink or a bite to eat if your out and about in the area. All round great pub.

We were disappointed with our visit to the restaurant for my Fathers Birthday. The staff were very stressed, even snapping when we asked for something saying they were doing something else. The starters came out and on both the sharing platters the bread was stale and rubbery which was replaced . The main meals came out with one being pie and mash but it was sent with chips so that was sent back. The pies were awful, the pastry just wasn’t right and it was dry and the seafood platter was inedible as it was cooked so much it was dry. Two of the meals weren’t touched which the manager did deal with. The cookie with the desert wasn’t cooked either. I have eaten at the watering bury many times before and have not experienced anything like this before.

I know The Wateringbury well. I’m no local but as a family, we do visit regularly for drinks, lunch and or dinner. Without fail, you can see they try hard. We’ve had some great food. And on occasions when it’s been busy, we have had the odd dish not quite right. Always, when raised politely with the staff, they have resolved with good grace. Pubs are under pressure and in decline and closing everyday. I do wish some people would appreciate what they have before writing petit, small minded negative reviews and treat hospitality workers with respect rather than treating them as servants and barking requests in a rude manner which we have witnessed all too often.

8 of us visited for my husbands birthday, have been to you many times before and enjoyed our food but very disappointed this time, the bread with the sharing starters was very dry, main courses were over cooked, seafood platter was very dry, smothered chicken was over cooked but we ate it, my grandson and partner had to leave their meals, overall a disappointing evening.

Arrived for an early evening meal with family plenty of parking in site. Greeted at the door by friendly staff. We have been for lunch and evening meal before and came back with family and enjoyed another great meal. The staff here are very friendly which you dont find everywhere! We have visited before and it never fails to impress me. Being a diabetic I asked the waitress if the chef would weigh my food before cooking so that I could calculate my insulin. This they did straight away, she even returned and gave me the weight of my food cooked. Even the manageress came over to check on us. They could do no more for us than what they did. And the food was also top notch, as always. Well played to ALL the staff at this restaurant.

As usual a very warm welcome. We had to wait for one of our group, we were not rushed to order our food. When we order the food came quite quickly and was of a high standard. We were offered to get the pudding menu however it never arrived, no problem though we dont usually have puddings.
