Lovely food as always and great service from Molly.

Molly was our server and she was attentive, friendly and looked after us the entire time we was there. The food was impecable as always and the atmosphere is lovely. Defo will be returning!

Edit: Just look at the passive aggressive and snooty response from the owner, tells you all you need to know. This was a 2* rating, but I'm changing to 1* given that response. Looks better than it tastes and costs. It's a nice little spot visually, but the food is over complicated to the point of being unpleasant. Ingredients seem fresh, but unfortunately they've just not been prepared or cooked well at all. Coffee quality is noticeably poor, I'd guess they use Robusta beans or some sort of cheaper blend. Poor value for money. Waiting times are pretty long (circa 30 minutes). Staff are friendly though. Overall, definitely one to give a miss to, plenty of other cafes and bistros nearby that offer higher quality for the same price, if not lower.

Been here a few times. Good food, great breakfasts and we love the garden shed decor! Georgina made it extra special today with her genuinely good service.

This was our first visit to the Watering Can. We had come with a relative who is a regular. What a lovely experience it was too. The service was excellent and the Sunday lunch was delicious with beautifully cooked roast beef. It was a very busy lunch time but we did not feel any pressure to rush our lunch. We just wish we lived a bit nearer as this would be a favourite place to go. Manny thanks for a lovely day out

Really bad experience. Told there was 'no room' for my pram, despite there being several empty tables. Wasn't made to feel welcome at all, in fact made to feel more of a hindrance. Was told I could walk round the park for 20 minutes to wait (it was -1° outside). When I asked about sitting somewhere that looked relatively empty, I was told by the member of staff who was dealing with us that we couldn't sit there as she didn't want to 'disturb' the other customers. If there are tables available, staff should be accommodating to whoever walks through the door. Unfortunately, we could tell from the get go that she couldn't be bothered. First time parents may already feel anxious about going out with their newborn so to be made to feel like you're in the way is not ideal. Not the first time I've had issues with the service in this place. Can't imagine I'll be going back. The overpriced food doesn't even make up for the bad service.

Lovely cafe, great menu and huge selection of cakes

Let down as it was full of wet, smelly dogs. I do not like eating a nice meal in the company of lots of dogs, straight from their walks in the wet park. Disgusting, yet I fear I am in the minority as so many people have them and think it’s acceptable to bring them into dining establishments. Great service, staff are wonderful. Coffee was fantastic.

Very adorable restaurant with immaculate service. Their vegan chocolate cake is to die for. Very happy I was able to enjoy one of their Reuben sandwiches while on my Liverpool trip, and hope to enjoy another one on my next!

Went for hot drinks and a cake. Lovely staff and nice space but so overpriced. Nothing that we ordered was good enough to justify the price. Outdoor seating is not available as picture all year. There are some stools outside and you have access to the takeaway menu only.

What a gem. The food was amazing, the cakes were delicious (I ate one as part of my lunch and took another way with me) and all for a very reasonable price. The staff were really friendly and the location beautiful. This was exactly what I wanted on a cold December Monday

Food & service really good. Don't be fooled by the use of the words "DOG FRIENDLY" though, at best expect, DOG TOLERANT. I was sat at one of the trendy tables, which seemed like old singer sewing machines, iron or cast iron. No real space underneath for even feet to go comfortably. PAWS ON THE FLOORS rules they have, along with their sister THE WHEELBARROW, means your dog, if it doesn't fit in your bag, won't feel comfortable at all, nor will it be allowed any comforting by you on your lap. No water offered for the dog either, so given every other actual DOG FRIENDLY place I've ever been to, these 2 establishments shouldn't appear in listing's for dog friendly places.

Simply overpriced for what you get

One of the best English breakfasts I've ever had. The place has a beautiful decoration, it is now decorated with a Christmas theme and is very cozy and authentic, very English rustic style. The service is very fast and the attention is friendly. Recommended :)

My grandson and I were served by Grace who is a credit to your establishment. She was pleasant and attentive. We had a bit of banter which is something I enjoy. The meal was plentiful and delicious. We will definitely return.

Came here with a friend for a quick stop off on her birthday. Had the falafel salad (not for the first time) which is always delicious, accompanied by a couple of glasses of prosecco. We were served by Sam, who is forever charming, handsome and witty. Amy also seated us who is always endlessly gracious and welcoming, nothing is ever too much trouble. Love the Watering Can and will return again and again.

It had been snowing today so thought we'd try the Watering Can out as on a normal day you can't get a seat as they seem to be in great demand. We got a nice comfy couch in the conservatory, just next to the radiator with a nice view of Greenbank Park gardens. We just had a coffee as we'd already eaten. I could have spent the afternoon there sitting in a leather sofa, hot radiator and nice view, what more could you ask for on a cold Autumn day. Will have to come back and try out some of the cakes on display by the entrance, they are very tempting. Very original layout with excellent conservatory and pleasant staff.

It's very popular which is always a good sign but we didn't have to wait too long to be seated. We both had a lovely breakfast - one meat and the other vegetarian. Also the way the Watering can is decorated really adds to the atmosphere. Thoroughly recommend.

We were served by the lovely Annabelle yesterday, she was great her service was brilliant! As our first time the watering can we will be sure to return!

A pesar de que llegamos un sábado por la mañana ocupado para el desayuno nos quedamos impresionados con lo tranquilo y fluido que era el servicio. Todo se maneja como un reloj y, a pesar de tener que esperar una mesa, no fue demasiado tiempo. El servicio en la mesa era excelente, Grace nuestra camarera era muy amable y súper eficiente, y la comida era preciosa (fue una pena que estábamos demasiado llenos para pastel!).

We booked here for Sunday 10th November for Sunday lunch after visiting on Saturday 9th November for coffee and cake. The service was excellent by our waitress Annabelle who was very attentive and the Sunday Roast was outstanding. We will definitely be back when visiting our daughter at University.

Another unbelievable Sunday roast with a great starter. Had king Prawns starter, there were plenty of prawns saturated in a tomato and chilli sauce, followed by a delicious chicken roast. Great service, never lets me down, spectacular lunch at a decent price. Four of us old friends meeting up every now and then , it was made into a a fab day out by the quality of food and ambience. Well Done Watering Can, thank you so much.

The Watering Can is clean with a nice relaxed atmosphere. We visited at lunchtime and although it was busy we were shown to a table and served by a very polite and happy Annabelle. Once we’d been served Annabelle checked in to see if everything was ok. The food was amazing and very fresh with my wife having fish fingers on Brioche and myself having caesar chicken baguette. Will definitely be returning.

Unfortunately we are leaving a one star review and it's only because of the atmosphere of the venue that it's getting the one star (and there is no option to leave zero stars) We attended as a four adult family last night 27/10/24 along with my grandson who is 10 months old. It was our first visit to the venue and we were excited to sample for ourselves what people was raving about on Tiktok. We had booked a table for 4.30pm and upon our arrival we were told that certain items of the menu weren't available The black pudding starter, The pork option on the roasts and also no cauliflower cheese. When my wife expressed a bit of disappointment to the server she was spoken to by the server and told "Well, we are open from 1pm and you have booked a table at 4.30 so things run out" We discussed as a family about leaving and going somewhere else but chose to give it a go as we were already there. Surely as a venue who advertise all over social media about the roast dinners you serve you should ensure you have enough stock to cover your bookings for the evening. I put my grandson into the high chair supplied and then spent the rest of the evening having to slide him back into it as he was able to slide completely off the front of the chair. These chairs are not safe for young children to use due to the ill fitting safety strap. We ordered the dipping bread option to eat whilst we waited for our food. This arrived quickly i grant you but with only four half slices of bread for a cost of £4.50 this is a rip off. The starter of King prawns then arrived and was found to be luke warm which is not ideal to be serving shellfish. This is where our doubts started. I then moved my empty plate to an empty table away from reach of my grandson. A server then arrived to take the plate and said I take it your finished with the plate and I found her to be very rude. Our main meals then arrived two of which were a chicken roast option, which we found to be on the bone, which wasn't stated on the menu. If it had been, we would not have ordered it. I myself ordered the beef option, my wife the nut option. We ordered extra roast potatoes and creamed cabbage. We also ordered my grandson a child's option roast dinner.(£9.00) The food that arrived was again not hot on any of the meals. The creamed cabbage was still raw, the roast potatoes were definitely not roasted more like deep fried and we had to use the meat knives to cut through them as they were rock solid. There was no way we could feed any of my grandsons meal to him as everything was hard to cut through let alone feed to a ten month old child.(£9.00) My daughter in law had to scoop the inside of the deep fried potatoes out to give something to our grandson to eat. The Yorkshire puddings had absolutely zero taste to them and were very greasy at the bottom. We ordered an extra Yorkshire pudding (£2.00) for my daughter which she couldn't eat due to it being tasteless. We left that much food on the plate that the server asked us if we wanted a takeaway box to take the remaining food home with us. So for this privilege we were charged £149.90 yes it included the "Gratuity of 10.99" i did not want to cause a scene as I was with my family but there is no way I would have paid a gratuity charge as the service was awful along with the cost of the food which was £123.50 (we had bought a couple of drinks which if added would make the bill up to £149.90) The videos on social media are very misleading and the quality of food is whoafully below what is to be expected. I would definitely not return to this venue in the future. For the prices they charge you can have a decent quality meal at other premises where food will be cooked correctly and arrive at your table hot. Definitely one to avoid. It's a shame I didn't check the recent reviews as I would not have booked here if I had.

Just had a gorgeous roast dinner, service by Annabelle was wonderful, she was helpful, kind and professional. The food was beautiful, I had nut roast, my hubby the beef, ordered cauliflower cheese to go with it. Fresh produce and tasted amazing.

Not as good as the last time I was there. Menu has changed but not only that, they stop serving food at 1800 now and only serve a lunch menu. Staff are still great. Friendly and attentive. Food still tasted good but, I don't know. I can't put my finger on it. The difference in what it used to be and what it was this time just felt disappointing.

One of the best Sunday roasts I’ve had in a long time. Service was second to none, waitresses were always attentive but not as much to be overbearing. Lovely atmosphere.

Had a lovely Sunday roast 😋, rump of beef was excellent the roast potatoes were to die for and the maple syrup roasted carrots were delicious. All washed down with a really nice house white and served by the lovely Molly. Will definitely be returning 😁 Thanks all.

Nice cosy place on edge of park by spire hospital. Takes available at 11am on a Sunday. Unable to reserve though, so take your chance but they do have another place 10 minute walk to also try. Good selection of breakfast options, plenty of choice on cakes available too. Only negative point is 10% service charge is automatically added. It should be up to customer to choose, not to feel pushed into paying. Sausage on toast at £7 bit pricey, when only 1 and a half sausages, was nice though.

Had breakfast ..wasn't cheap at 13.50..didn't want mushrooms asked for another egg..so total 15.00..extra for tea..and I bought a piece of cake to take home..total 24.00 pounds..has to be one of the most expensive breakfasts I've ever had..London prices in Wavertree..service OK.. decor lovely..actual food ok..sadly unless it's for a tea or coffee I won't be back.

What a gem! Cool decor, relaxed atmosphere, lovely staff, great food in a parkland setting. What's not to love?! So good it's worth a bus ride from Liverpool city centre. Fab!

We had a really excellent vegetarian brunch here. Service was super quick and the food was incredible - one of the best breakfasts I've had in Liverpool, all in a very cute venue with plants everywhere. There is a takeaway hatch to get coffees to go, and the cake selection looks incredible.

Lovely setting, but disappointing ‘Black Forest gateaux’ - cakes are more showey than qualit. Dense Costco-style icing rather than what should’ve been whipped cream for a true Black Forest. Minimal cherry, and far too dense. Also the default 10% service charge for coffee and cake is rather frustrating (£8.80 for coffee and a cake total)x Lovely quasi outdoor greenhouse setting though and lovely decor, but wouldn’t rush back for the cakes.
