Love going ng there before a show and after like everything its not cheap to drink in there

Book if you want to eat,we were unlucky, but still have a love night.

Had a brilliant meal tonight 16th November. Good value for money staff were amazing and friendly the cleanliness was spot on service was amazing. Atmosphere was great. Our 1st time here will be visiting again and highly recommend to friends and family.

Lovely restaurant, bar is downstairs, and restaurant upper level. I ate here with my daughter before a theatre visit. Wr didn't have a booking but they were able to accommodate us. Lovely food, fast service, Pleasent atmosphere, and decent priced cocktails.

Had a lovely meal before theatre. Staff were very friendly. Great value for money. The teriyaki salmon was amazing and my husbands lamb was delicious. Would recommend booking as they were turning a lot away as they were fully booked

Prawn cocktail starter was too cold and tasteless but main course (lamb shoulder) was fine.

Great place to eat if you don't want to go to far from the Royal Court theatre.

We had a lovely pre theatre dinner at the Courtyard bar and kitchen last night. The staff were very friendly, attentive and efficient. I loved the Cherry Spiritz cocktail. The food was delicious and very good value. This is a great place to eat, relax and socialise!

This was our first visit. Most impressed to say the least and we will be back. Food was delicious and the portions were on the generous side. All the staff who served us were absolutely lovely.

Squeezed us in early on a matchday which was great for a quick stop off for a lunch. Staff were super friendly, chatty and engaging as well as attentive with stuff like drinks. All three courses arrived quickly and were of decent quality, particularly the pitta breads to start. Atmosphere rather strange with fairly loud music but expect this is a positive in the evenings. Views were fantastic and overall a reliable and cost friendly lunch option on the set menu!

Always a great place with really friendly staff. I've been before for real ale but tonight we had the fantastic food and a great duo for entertainment. Will definitely be back regular on a friday

Friendly staff. Food not great, although pretty reasonable, so maybe it's a case of you get what you pay for? Cabbage on the starter was sloppy as was the cauliflower for the main. The menu reads better than the execution of the dishes

A great atmosphere in this bar and you will quite often bump into some of the stars that have been on stage, Andrew Schofield, Linzi Germain, Keddy Sudden, Paul Duckworth, Liam Tobin, to name but a few and they are always ready to chat to you👍👍

Went for meal before a show at Royal Court. The staff were friendly and efficient, the food was first class, and for anyone who loves 'people watching', being able to look out over Queens Square and St George's hall is great.

Always eat there when going to see a play or show. Tonight what happened have they changed the kitchen. The staff were fantastic as always but the food? Prawn cocktail to start 4 prawns in a plastic cocktail glass with 2 bits of lettuce slice of lemon bit of sauce. No plate for plastic glass to sit on or your spoon or folk to go on. Main meal pan fried sea bass on a bed of cold sauce potatoes and stem broccoli. Only one fillet of sea bass usually get two. The fish was hot and cooked lovely obviously cooked fresh but rest of meal had been on the plate for god knows how long Did complain and was not charged for my drinks but would have sooner had a good meal. Once agai fantastic staff but what's happening in the kitchen .

6 of us had a meal there on Saturday 5th November. We all had different dishes, I had pancetta wrapped chicken with root veg. OMG it was amazing. Definitely returning with my hubby. Fantastic food and price 👌

I very rarely give 5* but the food was excellent, couldn't fault any of the dishes we had. A family of five, all different meals. All very good. Good prices as well, not over priced.

Good value pre theatre set menu, excellent fish and chips. Would reccomend to friends and definitely use again.

Want to say a massive THANK YOU to Emma and all the team for helping us with our wedding celebrations at Courtyard Bar and Kitchen this August. Our guests had the best time, the wedding dinner and the evening buffet was delicious and filling, the service was on point, the location was so convenient and venue was well maintained. All staff were so helpful and approachable, couldn’t fault any part of this venue or the staff. All of our guests were really impressed and many said they will be back for the food. The day was perfect! Thank you all at Courtyard Bar and Kitchen for the perfect day!

Had a beautiful meal of Duck Resotto, the service was excellent. The photo was of a lemon tart we had for dessert.

Large party booked in for a lunch. Really well organised and accommodating, food was great too. Thank you to all the staff.

We had a pre theatre meal and drinks its 2 courses for £18 so i got fish and chips and cheese board we didnt have time for our second course but the staff reserved us a table for after the play and we had our second course afterwards .staff are all lovely

A decent set menu with reasonable price, especially for theatre night. You can find vegetarian options as well. Nice city centre view, close to train station and St. George Hall.

Enjoyed an absolutely delicious Pudding Club evening. The food was first class, the chefs fantastic and great service. Lovely atmosphere and amazing deserts. Loved every single one of the five puddings served and saving the 'one to go' for tomorrow.

Stopped by for a drink with hubby and friends. Pleasant little venue, quite busy with constant flow of customers. Cheerful and helpful staff and cosy feeling that makes you want to sit and chat, maybe next time we will try the food.

Went for dinner with family on Friday night. Great choice of food. Service was efficient, friendly and welcoming. Food was very tasty.

Worst thing I have ever ate ,well I didn't eat,my sister got starter and main together,half hour later, I got 3 tiny prawns in lard !hard fat , disgusting,my sisters bread come with glass of oil..never again.girls were lovely.probably not even cheffs fault,did knock food off.but since I only ate 4 chips .thanks

Nice place for a pre show drink

We have eaten here before until today. NEVER AGAIN. If I could zero stars I would but it is Not an option. We booked online and attended for our wedding anniversary early evening following a local football game. On arrival we where met with two doormen one off whom was very sarcastic and aggressive towards my husband as we approached the door as my husband was wearing his football shirt and jeans and was judged for doing so. We was told before we even opened our mouths that we could not come in as football shirts are not apparently allowed in this bar, particularly as my husbands shirt was an Everton shirt and he had jeans on. It Would of been interesting to see what happened in this place during the Euros with football shirts! Initially we thought we the Doorman was joking attempted to explain we had a booking online and nothing had been mentioned about their dress code online and that we had just come straight from the game and was going to the restaurant not bar. ( we are a couple in our 50’a so hardly likely to be causing trouble). He was very rude and judgemental and sarcastically said it is not difficult to understand even though we had not said it was. My husband was told to zip his coat up and not take it off at all during his meal. We went upstairs to book in but I felt so upset I cancelled our booking and we left as I will not have either my husband or myself be spoken to or judged in such a derogatory way by some narrow minded low life on the door ! So be careful what you wear as you will be judged this restaurant !!

cant knock the pub good service and great place to have a drink and see live music and watch footy but the courtyard round the back spoils it , the lad with the quiff and fade haircut i presume is the manager walks round the place like he owns it carrying two tele's under his arms looks angry all the time moaning at the customers he just seems to be happy when being miserable. what lets the place down aswell is you have to queue up then pay a £5 to get in and only get 2 hours stay then you have to leave queue up again and pay £5 again how they get away with that i dont know. So my advice for anyone wanting to go is defiantly go into the pub itself boss atmosphere and different to the vibe outside and if you are wanting to go a beer garden just go to any of the others in the baltic market its free and all play music outside anyway and you have no one hassling your table.MY 1 STAR RATING IS FOR THE COURTYARD NOT THE PUB

Located along Roe Street is Courtyard Bar ,a wonderful bar and restaurant that although closed at the moment is soon to be bouncing again as Prime Minister Boris has laid down the roadmap out of the pandemic with pubs being allowed to reopen on the 12th of April with outside service only and from the 17th of May inside and outside service allowed and by June 21st more or less back to normality so I eagerly look forward to revisiting this bar,its a cool looking bar ,set over two floors, opulent decor and furnishings and plenty of seating options spread throughout this bar,its a place I've had some great times in ,I remember years ago when this bar was known as The Penny Farthing Pub,it was good then ,its much better now,a wonderful bar ,most definitely well worth checking out if you're in the area and when the 3rd and final lockdown is lifted and easy to locate along Roe Street adjacent to The Royal Court Theatre and facing St George's Hall.

We were expecting much higher quality of meals... Disappointed in mains, dessert. Any local pub makes same quality food... Vegetarian options also horrible quality.

Great place with amazing views of St George's Hall. Food is good and staff seem pleasent. Prices quite good. Ideal for a bite to eat or drinks before the theatre.

I visited Friday evening after the theatre with five friends. We received a warm welcome and the staff are really pleasant. The food was really lovely and fresh and we couldn’t fault it.

Limited menu (which isn't a complaint). Music, which was coming from downstairs, too loud.

Lovely meal here with family prior to the theatre last night, good food excellent staff. Would recommend.

Had our wedding reception meal after getting married across the road in St Georges Hall on Tuesday 18th Feb and may I say what a Fantastic Day Emma and her Team gave us from the moment we walked across from St Georges to the moment we left.We had the whole first floor to ourselves, with fantastic views of the city. We were greeted with glasses of champagne then we all sat for dinner and have to say that the food was absolutely delicious, as good as any top notch restaurant. There was no charge for the hire of the place and the set menu was very reasonably priced.A big thank you to Emma and all the staff at The Courtyard for making it a special day.If your getting married at St Georges Hall have look at this place for your wedding meal etc... you just walk across the road and the party starts,......its a no brainer.

Visited recently with friends before a show at the royal court the menu was small but well balanced if you have mobility problems the restaurant is upstairs and no lift the food and service we had was ok but the bar and restaurant was a little bit shabby

Nice but no wheelchair access to the dining space. My friend and I were relocated to the downstairs bar for our very tasty Christmas dinner. It was lovely but felt a bit odd

A special gem. I’m worried about writing a review, because we want to keep its secret wonderfullness to ourselves. Food is excellent, staff great, atmosphere supper chilled. Night recommend.
