We stayed here one night on a car trip. Very nice hotel, friendly staff, great atmosphere. The night we stayed there, there was a mobile pizza bar run by two people. Very good pizza and you can eat it on the terrace of the hotel. Really recommended.

Stayed 1 night July 24 Room clean and comfortable. Although the bath had "scum" feeling around it Breakfast in the lovely dining room was disappointing, last time we stayed there was a choice of hot breakfast. This time a choice of cereal and toast. Self service even to tea and coffee. One member staff on duty who didn't check things were topped up. However I would stay again and recommend the Walnut Tree

On returning home from Cornwall, we arrange to stay for one night to break up the drive. Staff were friendly food was good. Room was dated. Tea coffee milk sugar and kettle available. Stains on the chair and No mattress protector. Which I thought was standard at any hotel or B&B. Lesson learnt.

Visited here on a couple of nights. The First night was better than the second food wise. on the first night we had the burger and steak pie which were very nice and tasty. The second evening we had fishcakes. Unfortunately these weren't so good. Lovely friendly pub and definitely one to visit if in the area.

Quite dreadfull. Very very badly run. Food erratic is a kind way of putting it. The latest is number plate recognition cameras to charge you parking for going in for a drink. All erected in a conservation area without planning consent as far as we can see. AVIOD AVOID AVOID is my advice until the owners buck up.

Good location if a little off the beaten track. Rooms are comfortable and quiet, with a TV and drinks facilities that were replenished daily. Breakfast was continental only, limited in choice and a little hit and miss, with fizzy apple juice one day and no orange juice the next. On the third day, other guests and myself waited around for the breakfast room to be unlocked but there was no staff nor manager around, so a few of us gave up after 8am (an hour after it was supposed to open), left our keys somewhere prominent instead of checking out properly, and just left. Very strange.

Quaint country pub/hotel,with friendly staff and service. The food is fantastic, and portion sizes are very good, too. It was not too expensive to dine there. Thoroughly recommend it to anyone.

Absolutely fantastic place to visit, we were recommended this place via someone we knew. We drove all the way from London on the way to Cornwall and were not disappointed the Chef's cooking was phenomenal. Thank you so much for making our visit well worth the drive.

Amazing place to stay, for one night or even a few, very peaceful, birds singing, next to the hotel little river with a beautiful view, the room just refurbished. Continental breakfast is not a big choice, but the pastries are fresh and hand-made, lovely coffee, missed the eggs option, at least boiled ones. Quite atmosphere will be suitable for everyone who wants to relax from busy cities. I am pleased to stay in this hotel. Also, 1 hour away from Durdle door. In conclusion, staff polite, always with smile. We booked a family room with a double bed and sofa bed, but they couldn't provide this type of room, so we getted 2 separated double rooms, which options were even better for us. Definitely would recommend it.

Arrived at the Walnut tree at 6pm, after travelling 24hrs from France, to find it shut. We had our booking confirmed and recieved no communication regarding cancellation of the booking. We spent 45mins sitting in the carpark ringing round for alternative accommodation. We eventually got the last room in the Manor hotel. Had this not been available we faced spending the night in the car. Surely if there was a problem we should have been informed by the proprietor, to make sure we were informed. Definitely not happy with the situation we found ourselves in.

We went for a lunch time meal and was blown away by the helpfulness and amazing food. I’ve had bariatric surgery and can only eat a very small portion and had to be plain and simple. Well the lovely chef and bar assistant were so helpful and accommodating. The chef cooked a lovely piece of fish not in batter, mash and veg. Tasty and a child portion with no fuss. Food is top quality and reasonably priced.

Please note this is the Walnut Tree at West Camel and not the Rosewood at Burnham on Sea as thought by the previous reviewer. We had a family lunchtime gathering 19th November, 9 adults and 4 lively toddlers. We were given a whole room to ourselves which was fortunate due to the noise we made. The food was excellent and the majority of us had the Jerk Chicken Platter which we all agreed was amazing. The service was excellent and we all received our meals at the same time. Well done Izzy and team.

We went to your establishment about 2 days ago your food is fantastic and good prices you are very busy we understand this however your toilets are very poor which I mean they are not checked regularly and cleaned regularly my last visit to your ex stablish moment there was excrement all over the toilet I have to clean myself not very hygienic at all however your staff are very friendly as well as the dining area!! We have your Sunday roast which was great on paper actually what resulted to be a very bland meal and not much of it we need to increase the quantity as well as the flavour, The menu is very good however you do need to extend a little and more seafood dishes to your menu would be great

Visited here as have driven past many times and seen the sign on The A303. Very nice place, but of a tardis inside. We both had the jerk chicken and creole rice, very tasty, just not much chicken as it was a leg, could have eaten two. Will definitely be back.

We were six gay guys from London but really Canada, Switzerland, Germany, Antigua, Dubai, and England in West Camel for a Covid ‘staycation’. We went to the pub and the food was amazing, the service great, and the welcome fantastic. The authentic Caribbean food was a real treat and something we didn’t expect to get in a small Somerset town. To say we were pleasantly surprised would be an understatement. We have already recommended the place to our friends who are coming to Somerset next week!

Travelling East to West, heading to Bude, we came across The Walnut Tree when looking for a snack and a short break from the long journey. A great find. We opted for the Caribbean tapas and found the whole experience very authentic - tremendous flavours, having opted for 2 different chicken options (thighs and wings), accompanied by an excellent homemade coleslaw. The staff were also very friendly and came out to chat to us for a while (a welcomed chat, not a false pretence at hosting). We will make a point of stopping back on our next journey, and will make sure we give ourselves more time to sample more of the menu options available (and there were plenty on offer). I wish the owners all the luck in making this place a great success - they certainly have the "ingredients" to do so!

Nipped off the A303 for a pub lunch. Based on good reviews, we thought we’d try the Rosewood Restaurant/Walnut Tree. Turns out the friendly Caribbean couple who manage the pub have only been running it 5 weeks, and we were definitely not disappointed. Although limited to three starters and roasts (might have been because it was a Sunday!), the food was amazing! Would highly recommend. The roast beef was excellent with beautifully seasoned vegetables. Looking at the menu, they do weeknight Caribbean platters which looked so appetising and definitely worth a revisit in the future!

We were recommended this restaurant by someone we met earlier in the day as it was her local. We didn't read reviews and just went along. I can't understand why this place wasn't packed. The Chef cooked us a beautiful meal the starter was superb, main course absolutely delicious and we just had to have sweet. The young chap in the kitchen is definitely talented and his food a joy to eat. The staff couldn't be more pleasant and friendly. They deserve every success and we most definitely will be back. Thank you for a lovely evening.

I decided to visit the pub after reading some very convincing reviews on Trip Advisor and I’m very glad I did. I went with a friend and we both had a brilliant time. The service was superb and the food really couldn’t have been better. I had the burger and she had the pie of the day. Portions were generous and the price was very respectable. Definitely worth a visit!

We ate here while stopping nearby in the lovely River Garden B&B. It was a five minute walk along the quiet village street to this lovely pub with a very nice menu. The service was excellent and friendly, and the steak pie (which we both opted for) was excellent quality home made fare. The starters were also very good! We didn't have space for a dessert, as the portion sizes were generous. Overall a good choice for food! They serve the same menu in the bar and restaurant.

Quite why I am reviewing the Rosewood Restaurant is a slight mystery because we stayed at and ate at the Walnut Tree - the very same place shown in the pictures. If you search for B&B's in West Camel you find the Walnut Tree. So, I am not quite sure where the Rosewood name fits in - unless it is a hangover from the previous owners of some years ago. If first impressions are a little underwhelming then spend a moment or two to realise, first, that the place is spotless and then prepared to be surprised by the quality and presentation of the food. The menu holds no particular thrills but we were truly taken aback by just how good the food was. I had the starter special of a tian of prawns, followed by a perfectly cooked steak and then the lightest and most wonderful almond tarts. If you are thinking of staying over then the biggest surprise in the rooms is the quality of the linens and towels - and, again, the cleanliness of everything. Highly recommended and great value.

The Rosewood has a good selection of food in the menu, the service was efficient rather than friendly and our meals were cooked beautifully. It wasn't expensive. The one thing we would improve is the surroundings - the mock-Tudor interior carpet and lead windows were reminiscent of pretentious restaurants of the 1970s.
