Failed to keep The New Wall Heath Tandoori on High Street clean and in good repair. Failed to ensure the wash basin located in the kitchen and toilet had materials for cleaning hands and hygienic drying and failed to ensure adequate procedures were in place to control pests. Was going to get a takeout this evening, lucky I Google it first.

I had a three day marinated Kurzi lamb OMG right of the bone it was amazing I am definitely coming back for another I didn’t know such a dish invented congratulations Rocky for the surprise

Booked in for evening meal, me and the bride first visit to this place, obligatory pint of cobra and a coke ordered, friendly staff made us welcome, Wifey ordered Asian cod with boiled rice where as I went for Chilen Madras with plain naan bread, both meals were excellent and filling, Would highly recommend this restaurant and we will be returning.

Excellent food at wallheath tandoori I have wallheath ultimate special was brilliant. Lovely atmosphere and best service.

Love coming to this restaurant, always like to try different dishes, our grandkids love it here and are always asking to come. Tandoori Salmon is amazing 1 of my favourites/

Food tasted awful with no tatse and very soar. Also came out cold and very late. Never tatsed such a poor meal in my entire life. Keep well away.

Came here with my friend on a tue evening, used my meerkat 2 for 1 voucher, called in advance to check also. We had onion bhaji to start and wow they were so good and not shy on portions either along with the usual poppadom and mint etc, we then had our mains, mine was saffron chicken and was so good and again good portion size, this came with special pilau rice which was enough for 2 ppl aswell and then coffee and mints for afters. I will definitely be returning with my family, the food and staff were 10/10

We had a lovely meal tonight. So tasty, with good service, compliments to the chef. The staff were wearing masks , we were seated well away from others and felt very safe during this difficult time. We really enjoyed it and would highly recommend the tasty food, Anne and Paul

Had a lovely meal at this restaurant but sadly out of all the members of staff including the owner only 1 person wore a visor. The others inc the owner wore their masks either under their nose, under their chin and one did not wear a mask at all. They really need to review the mask situation to make their customers feel safe. Shame as I say lovely meal, nice restaurant but....

If you take Covid restrictions seriously then don’t go here....because they don’t. Signs up on the wall encouraging social distancing however tables less than 1 metre together. No visible hygiene measures in place. No contact details taken for booking - good luck Test & Trace. Poor service, food took ages to arrive. Avoid.

Wow, the tastes and textures are sublime. I love it! We had to wait well over an hour to collect but it is Saturday evening in lockdown Can highly recommend Some of the best flavours

Ordered a delivery at 7.07pm told it would take 1.45 hours delivery just arrived at 9.39 no where near good enough will not ever order off rocky again food is good really good but service to regular customers is terrible

Not happy at all, complained to them tonight as I found a massive hair in my food which should not happen due to health and hygiene, they should be wearing hairnets. Although they sent a curry out as an apology when the second one came out they hadn’t sent the full dish so I ended up just having a curry with no rice. How boring. Not what I order and not what I payed for. NOT HAPPY AT ALL.

We had an absolutely fantastic evening with amazing food and service. Will definitely return. A good value meal also of you're a meerkat member (not that it's expensive in the first place)

Ordered a take away tonight from here and really disappointed. The keema nan magically turned in to a plain nan and whilst they did provide a token poppadom there was no mint source or salad provided so a big let down. Wont order from here again, maybe they just had a bad night, shame.

Lovely meal here tonight with friends.Had potato and garlic starter with salad, my friends had chicken tikka. I had the balti chicken and mushroom main course, was very tasty. Not huge portion but with the nan bread rice and chips we shared was more than enough.Lovely staff very attentive and thought Rocky was lovely. Nice relaxed atmosphere too. Will definately return.

Went here for a birthday treat and it wasn’t. Food was warm and fairly tasteless and the waiters were not helpful or friendly.

We always eat here as the food is always amazing we have never had a bad meal and i have been using the restaurant for over 10 years...... The Tandoori feast platter (which consists of everything Tandoori :-) and it comes with a naan bread ) is my go to dish and it is amazing my wife usually goes for the tandoori salmon which is constantly really good..... but if i fancy a little or a lot of spice i would go for the Nihari Ghost (lamb) or the chicken jafflong both are equally as good (Little tip... If you have meerkat meals then this is a must Monday - Thursday 2-4-1 an starters mains and deserts)

Booked yesterday evening for my Dad’s 85th birthday being a group of 20. Perfect visit in every way, food excellent and attentive staff. Children in the party made to feel very welcome and we could not have chosen a better venue. Thank you Rocky once again.

Food excellent but the manager was extremely rude when we asked to see the desert menu - as the restaurant was busy and he didn't seem as if he could cope with a full restaurant (kept telling us that he was having to send customers away (not my problem). Just as good restaurants in the area (and probably a lot cheaper to be fair) - will not be going back ever again!!!!!!!

Went out for our friends birthday tonight. First time we have been here.

The decor and lighting is very nice, obviously recently done. The staff were very friendly and helpful, but the background music was a little to loud, making talking and ordering a little awkward. The food arrived and was just typical Indian food with one exception, the lamb shank, that was beautiful, very tender and very tasty. There's no car park, we parked in the co-op car park across the road, but some parked in the pub car parks, opposite the restaurant or next door. There's a little bar, or you can take your own drinks in they don't mind.

New refit but same old cheap, average, overpriced food and lets not forget the moaning management.

We go to this Restaurant very often. Food is very good, We take our own wine as they do not serve German wine, but there is a bar to purchase your drinks. Staff are very friendly and helpful if you need any tips.

We booked a table for 14 people on Saturday night. We had family visiting from Australia and thought it would be nice to take them for a curry. The restaurant was very busy, but table was all set for us, and the Staff let us have enough time to have a chat before taking our orders. Everything came out together, no one had to wait for their food. Excellent. The food was delicious, wine was flowing and the staff were lovely, we will be back soon xx

We have visited this restaurant many times over the years on and off, the new staff are good but food has been terrible since the refit, standards have being slipping. We viseted last night ordered poppadoms to be told No Chutney? Main Meals arrived, I'm sorry but no taste!! totally bland, appalling!! Ask your chefs to taste the food they are sending out. I'm sorry but we will not be visiting again!!!!

6 people bookes a take away from this establishment it arrived as stated within 45 minutes. The food was still piping hot even the naans were still delicious. No complaints from any of us all meals were as the menu and amazing

Visited with friends, nice decor, food average, small portions, slow service. Mentioned to manager that we were waiting for coffee and commented that service was slow, these comments were met with a verbal barrage. Have eaten all over the UK and World and have to say this is one of the worst examples of customer service I have ever experienced.

The Wall Heath Tandoori is a fabulous place to eat. It's clean and has modern decor but more importantly the staff are wonderful and friendly and the food superb. My partner likes his food really hot and spicy and they are happy to accommodate it. Couldn't recommend it enough.

I have noticed a few bad comments on here.

First visit since the recent re-furb, very nice inside but puzzled as to why the door now leads straight in - ok in the nice weather but wouldn't want to be sat either side of the door in the winter and the cold and rain!! The menu is the same as before and food still good, we took our own drinks as usual and were not told that this had changed. I have to say it is good but not very good so have had to go for average as the rating, it is a good cheap and cheerful curry night that I enjoy with my friend every so often.

Looking forward to opening night - what a disaster! Food - very average and watery dish. Worse was service - totally rude and very unprofessional. Rushed to a table - appreciate pretty busy but no new clean tablecloth and big wet damp patch in middle of table. Young inexperienced staff with one person serving in jeans and shirt - not professional! Worse was rant by owner Rocky about bringing own drinks which is always stated that you can. He clearly does not like this so should change dining options. Otherwise put up or shut up! Long serving customers made to feel very uncomfortable and very rude and unprofessional 'service' by owner. Heard as bad if not worse by friends who went following week! Will never go there again. Truly appalling.

We usually frequent a different Indian restaurant in Wall Heath but as this restaurant had undergone a facelift and had been recommended by a mutual acquaintance we gave it a try.

We visit regularly and the food is always good. The service is attentive and the newly refurbished restaurant is very smart.

Visited on a week night. Service was good. Food was ok, my curry was a little tasteless and the cheese naan bread wasn't the best. Looked like they has just chucked a handful of grated cheese on top and not melted it.

Went for a curry the other night. Nice place friendly staff. The curry was really nice so was the rice and poppadoms. Only reason it's not 5 star is naan bread poor cheese not melted.

Went here by chance as the chef hadn't turned up at the first place we went to due to the snow. We found a warm welcome at The Wall Heath Tandoori. The service was really good, as was the food and a complimentary brandy to finish off. This was the first time we had been here and would definitely go again!

Called in a couple of weeks ago, and we were really disappointed. Made to feel as if they don't care about the customers. Came in july 2017 and were really welcomed, this time was opposite was all rushed, was sat at the back. Food wasn't hat great, we left it half eaten, the chicken felt like the cheapest rubber that you get from cheap home cook budget curries. Won't come again, and have informed a couple of locals of our experience too.

We had waited a long time to visit the West Midlands, and the friends we stayed with had often waxed lyrical about Rocky's.

We have always enjoyed family visits here. I was amazed it wasn't as busy as on previous occasions. We all enjoyed the sauces and onion with the popodoms and a selection of starters. I had chicken off the barbecue with prawns which was very good. Garlic Nan was perfect. Most of us brought our own drinks although the restaurant is licensed.

Meals are ok , only slightly overpriced but the drinks are expensive and fraudulent should I say , I asked for a pint of kingfisher and got to pay £4 for a can of carling . Won't be going again , the new spice in Wolverhampton is much better also major curry affair in Dudley takes some beating.

When I walked into wall heath tandoori off recommendations by the misses I thought I was actually in Bangladesh but saying that. Credit where credit is due we both picked the same meal off the menu lamb pasanda which was lovely. Also nan breads were TIP TOP. Just the decor tbh. I can have a word with my mate Ramsey if need be.

After being recommended to visit this restaurant, we visited a week ago and the food was amazing.. Friendly staff and affordable prices. The owner Rocky is the ultimate in customer service. He helped with our food choices and was the best host.

We had a takeaway last Friday and they didn't label the containers so we had to guess whos was whos- guess what? Couldn't tell they both tasted like a big bowl of mushed tomatoes.Also someone else mentioned the questionable adding up- well when I arrived he took my card away, swiped it and gave it me back- not telling me the contents or total of the bill and looked shocked when I asked about it.Won't go again.

Have been visiting "Rocky's" as it is known locally for a few years with my friend and we have always had a great meal and great service. Have seen some negatives about this restaurant recently and can only go on my own experience, only once have I had a meal that wasn't up to standard, every other time it has been brilliant - you can see in the kitchen which is always a plus and can even go in if you want to see your food cooked, never been overcharged and Rocky, the owner, has always been friendly and pleasant - if other people have had problems there, that is a real shame as the food is really good and you can take your own drinks too! By the way, the address shown above has the wrong postcode, its DY6 0HA - and another bonus is if you have a Gourmet Society card you can get 2 for 1 on certain days!

Once again, having eaten here there was a 'mistake' on the total bill. Checked prices against menu and a pound added here and there amounting to nearly £5. I think if the owner believes you may have had a drink or two, he chances his arm and adjusts some of the prices. This is by no means the first time this has happened to us and I know of a few others who have experienced similar issues. It only seems to be when the owner is in attendance.Will definitely not return!!!

Ordered last night, I had a chicken tikka main and my boyfriend had a curry, it was beautiful!!! First time we have had a delivery from here, we've had sit downs we have always said sit downs r better than takeaways but we couldn't tell the difference! Was cooked to perfection & big portions . defiantly try it

Invited to the restaurant by very good friends on their recommendation. Very friendly staff, an interesting menu and great service. Courses where well presented and sufficient time was given between courses. Food was very tasty with good use of spices and staff wanted to know if we were happy and couldn't do enough for us. Ate here on a Saturday night after we had been let down by another restaurant. They accommodated a part of 5 of us on a busy Saturday night. The food was very good , service was prompt and we were made to feel very welcome. We will return again.

We went here on the spur of the moment as didnt feel like cooking. Fairly full. Meal came promptly and service was attentive. The Bangla draught beer was pleasant but very pricey at nearly £6 a pint. The food was ok, nothing special. It was a little disappointing as we have had better food there previously

I went there on a Saturday night and it was full apart from the table for 19 for our party. All 19 meals arrived together and everyone enjoyed theirs. Good quality food. The Nan breads were excellent although the Poppadums could have done with more than the two types of pickles.

I should have known not to go in,as it was so quiet in there only 1 table taken food was nice the only thing I can say is what a rip off £1.35 per poppadom and charged extra for chutneys and onion omg so bad won't be going back. A Saturday night and only 1 table taken ask yourself why and also letting children go into a kitchen taking photos not very hygienic

my mate said why didn't we have an indian in the village to save driving, having been here before and had poor food, i was a little reluctant, but said yes, i needn't have worried though ,the food has improved to very good, the sheek kebab was lovely and the main was good.

Been visiting rocky's place for about 5 years and always had a great meal. Excellent food and service with a reasonable priced menu is a winning combination. We have booked at various times of evening and have always had the table for as long as we needed and have never been pushed to vacate for another sitting.

What a great Tandoori this is, well up there.Full and varied menu, great food, well presented and a joy to eat. Staff incredibly friendly and helpful, any variation you fancy to your dish just ask, no problem.Rammed on Friday and Saturday nights, the atmosphere is buzzing, so make sure you book.Also, we've tried their signature dish, curtsy (sp) lamb. To die for the meat falls off the bone as they carve in front of you! Thing is, you have to order this 24 hours in advance and for a minimum of four people, but it's a special treat, great for a celebration.really can't praise this place highly enough, brilliant!

having eaten here before and had a reasonable meal, i decided to try a takeaway when my in laws arrived , the poppadoms tasted old, the chicken was chewy not melt in the mouth, and my brother in law had an upset stomach the following day, my mate went there a couple of days later and also said his meal was poor, a pity as it used to be good

I visited here on a Saturday night as a group of nine friends.The place is licensed (we didn't know this) but you can bring your own drink, which everyone did. One of the party brought a bottle of coke as a mixer as our friend who had visited previously actually advised doing so as the food is expensive to make up for the bring your own drink policy. Fair enough. I mention the bottle of coke as when my boyfriend had finished mixing it with vodka the manager (I assume as he was in a black shirt) came hurrying over and was practically shouting 'you can't do that! We have coke here, hide it, put it away! Do not use it!'.Needless to say we were taken aback I have been to unlicensed places where this has not been a problem. If he had asked and explained to us politely we would have completely understood, but he just seems like a very angry person.However, when the food came it was delicious and seemed freshly cooked. I can not fault the food. I did notice the manager keep glaring at our table after the coke incident, which is ridiculous and childish. I even noticed him look at our table and then look at his watch very openly and seemingly to make a point. I admit we were there a while but we were a table of 9 having two courses and there were no waiting for tables. I actually think the bring your own drink policy didn't save us any money in the long run as I think it was a bit pricey. You should either offer 'bring your own drinks' or not at all, as the manager clearly has a problem with it. I'd return here based on the quality of food and the other waiters but the manager has put me off.

Friday evening 4 adults and2 children. 6.30p.mPoppadoms and dips aplenty. Loved the dips!4 mains, as children were choosing off adults plates.No problem,extra plates brought out.Food piping hot,beautifully presented, and plentiful. Snow white tablecloths, decent cutlery,cloth napkins. Very clean.Used the ladies toilets with the children. They were spotless clean.The restaurant filled upvery quickly, but we were not rushed. Extra after dinner mints for the children as they hadn't any of the usual lollypops.Good polite professional servive throughout.This wasnt our first visit, and it it definitely won't be our last.

Had an enjoyable Fish Pakora starter to share which the chef put on 2 plates which was a nice touch. Poppadums were bit stale tasting as if cooked in advance. Main chicken dishes sizzler and curry, though showing medium to hot, were not hot enough. Veg rice with hubbies meal was tasty and best naan bread ever tasted. I've enjoyed the meal both times visited but my hubby was disappointed on both visits hence mid range score. 2 other parties there so lots of space if not booked. waiters attentive without being intimidating. Good idea that you can take own drink which we didn't realise. Limited parking close by.

Ordered pathia and asar gostha , asar gostha not one bit of spice despite chef recommendation on menu, just loads of bitter pataks lime pickle added. Step up boys this aint authentic Indian cuisine

This is the 2nd time we've had a rubbish experience at this restaurant. Last time we went about 6mths ago Rocky tried to sit 4 of us on a table for 2, blaming his customer's for taking own wine, hogging the seats and, in his words "pissing him right off". This time, we had booked a table 3wks ago for 6 and he had no where to put us, again blaming his customers for dawdling. His attitude was appalling and he didn't apologise, eventually fitting us in by evicting a party of people already seated to another table.

Big Bob and I have regularly dined here on most Saturdays over many years, I have looked at some of the reviews and I can't believe that some of them are true!We have consistently enjoyed fantastic beautifully spiced Bangladeshi food of high quality served by brilliant thoughtful staff.I would say that I have a discerning pallet and know good food when I eat there.So continued thanks to Rocky and all his staff and perhaps some of your advisor's need to revisit and try again, perhaps it was going through a blip they had a flood and I know their were problems for a while.

My partner and i have used the curry house a few times and the food has always been very good and tasty!! Even the takeaway was good but the last meal we had will be our last! We ordered a usual meal but with starters this time and i think the whole meal had been re-heated with hardly any flavour and we knew something was not right stright away - £30 wasted!!! This made both my partner and I very ill with stomach ache lasting upto 3 days and hardly any appetite :( Not had a curry now for over a month.I know this was one bad meal but it's enough to keep me away. A shame really as we have enjoyed the food from the restaurant in the past, think we will be going back to Robbies in Wallheath.

Used to use this restaurant a lot because it was so good. Had a take away a few months ago and the quality was poor. Giving the benefit of the doubt went there for a meal with friends.Starters were good. Quality of main meals was still poor. My meal was ok but my wife's was tasteless with precooked chicken. There was also a long wait while we watched endless take aways coming out of the kitchen. It's such a shame that standards have dropped so dramatically.

Rocky's restaurant is a firm favourite of our's with a fantastic range of Indian dishes from across the regions to choose from. In the 10 years we have frequented we have not had a bad meal and Rocky is a true gentleman who works hard to ensure his guests have a great evening.Recommended.

56 children and parents arranged a meal at the wall health tandoori. the restaurant arranged a set menu of 4 different curries to avoid lots of waiting around. The food and service was good, it wasn't hindered by our numbers. Was a half decent curry enjoyed by all, great before out stint in the pub next door

Food was awful, fish dish was overpriced and looked like it was just defrosted out of an Iceland bag, poppadoms were soggy and service was poor. The bill was a joke, i think Rocky has become a little greedy and put his prices up to cover the refurbishment!We used to use this indian a lot, I wouldn't waste my money here again.

We visited the restaurant in December and were bitterly disappointed. The food was not hot enough, the nan breads dry and seemed reheated and I was appalled to find my main mushroom dish made from tinned mushrooms with a cold raw tomato wedge in it. The meal was expensive and was thrown together with little care. Never again.

We are always made to feel welcome and the service is excellent. The food is a very good quality. You can take your own alcoholic drinks if you wish, however they do have a well stocked bar. I would recommend the Lamb Sagg, its delicious.

Booked in advance as we were using a tastecard. Service standards were very good & the staff were very friendly. The restaurant was clean. The food was nicely presented but we have had better. It was a bit on the bland side. Owner ordered a taxi for us to return to our hotel which we were grateful for. It was also very reasonably priced.

Have used this restaurant many times and have found the quality and taste excellent, Went back recently for a take away after not being there for a while. The meal was awful. The meat was so tough it had obviously been reheated and the food was tasteless. It has put me off going again. I don't know if has changed hands or not. All I can say is, "use with caution."

Frist visit to this resturant and would go back, I travel a lot and eat too many curries but must say this is one of the best , service is nothing special but not to take anything away from the staff they were there to serve and not bother you. My family and I visit here whenever we are in the area rocky is lovely he is friendly without being over powering. The food is first class and if he hasnt got it on the menu he will endever to make it for you. A first class service without the first class bill. I would heartily recommend to anyone xx

The four of us were grateful to be squeezed in early on a Saturday night. I am not one for plain emulsioned walls and laminate floors, Lasan can get away with it, here can't. The decor needs a lift, it doesn't appear that they over spent on the "Newly Refurbished" WHT. It is licensed but you can take your own and we did. It was a busy night with a broad mix of customers & families. A couple of tables were loud, too loud, made worse by the acoustics. I'm no kill joy but this is second on my list of noisiest restaurants. It could be different next time, God forbid it be worse. The service was ok and staff pleasant although a bit pushy with the drinks. The meal was nearly very good but unusually it was let down by the rice. I ordered Fried Rice but Special Rice came with the meal, it was too late to put it right as the curry was already on the plate, please note I (& perhaps others) prefer to serve myself. The special rice was very poor, dry & tasteless and unfortunately it spoilt the meal. I did tell them and they were apologetic.Finally the bill, it came as a bit of a shock, taking your own alcohol doesn't seem to soften the damage. I then understood while many were even taking in their own soft drinks. At these prices they'll be providing their own poppadoms & chips next. I was also disappointed that no credit was offered for the rice error, sorry Tom that credit would have been your tip. Overall 4 Star food (or 3 Star with rice) but 2 Star VFM.

Me and my partner visit the Wall Heath Tandoori on a regular basis and would recommend to anyone, who enjoys indian food which is presented beautifully and tastes gorgeous.Pleasant surroundings and excellent staff always make this an enjoyable time and leaves you wanting to return again and again. The Wall Heath Tandoori is owned and run by Rocky (Rokia), who is the epitome of Service. Having frequented many "Indian" restaurants over the years, my wife and I are now very "picky" about where we'll go "for a curry". My wife is also a professionally qualified Chef and knows what she likes. Well she likes Rocky's. The kitchen is behind glass but visible and a pleasure to view. The food is, to quote my 12 year old Grandson, "the best curry he's ever had in his life. " and, in our 50 or 60 something years, we've not had many better ourselves.It's small but stylish, and deserves your custom. Go soon. Let us all know if I'm right.
