The Balti in Dudley

I have always visited this place but it seems to have changed owners and it’s not the same. The atmosphere is terrible, and cold inside no heating. Our curries were watery.

I have been to this restaurant every 5 weeks for the past 4 years and the food has always been very good, the prices are reasonable, it’s not licensed so you can take your own drink which we like. Had a takeaway on a Thursday night in November 2024 and it was hands down the BEST takeaway we’d had in a long time. It saddens me to write this but tonight it was extremely disappointing. Three ladies stood by the till all evening, they were sorting out deliveries, clearly they got priority over the customers sat inside the restaurant. This may explain why only 3 tables were occupied at 8pm on a Saturday night. Service was nonexistent. We were virtually ignored. We had to keep shouting over “excuse me can we have a ….. glass, a spoon, a coke, some salt, can we please place our order etc” The starters came eventually and they were lukewarm at best. One was actually stone cold as if it had been taken out of the fridge?! Then the mains arrived, again temperature of food wasn’t hot. We usually stay for coffee but we were so cold for the whole time, we couldn’t wait to leave. This was a family reunion and I wish I hadn’t recommended it. Manager, if you’re reading this, please take as feedback. I don’t want this to be my last visit. Such a shame.

When we want nice food served by friendly staff this is our top place to go to. Everything is cooked fresh and any dietary requests are no problem. We were cosy on the table by the radiator as it was a bitterly cold night and staff did their utmost to make sure that everything was spot on. Tandoori fish is my favourite but everything I have tried was good

Literally, its really good amazing. Food service wverything is really appreciated. Everyone must need to go.

Firstly all the food is cooked fresh.shish kebab for starters had a nice kick Lamb jalfrezi for main with garlic nan was tender and well cooked.Service was good with staff recommendations.you ask they will accommodate it's changed chef and hands since I last came but we excellent food in an unlicenced venue .so drop your wine off hit kford for a few pints and finish with a great meal

Visited on Saturday 27th July, a table of 6. The table ordered a mixture of different curries, all of which were WAY below the standards you would expect from a decent curry house. I ordered the Lamb Madras, which can only be described as a watery, spicy soup, with very little lamb. The taste was ok, but the texture and lack of meat made this meal incredibly disappointing. My friends also described their curries as very thin and watery with very little meat. The next day, a few members of our party reported that they had an upset stomach. This restaurant needs serious improvement before I would consider going back. Quite possibly the worst Indian curry I've ever had.

Spent £49 and all our curries was runny and no taste whatsoever the keema naan had no keema In ordered masala chips come plain and all I get is a £3 refund and you having a laugh won’t be eating there again and would advise anyone not to eat there again

Food is usually amazing, but the Madras was way off this time. Really watery, and lacked any kind of flavour. Really disappointing, usually the best Madras around! Will probably avoid in future, a real shame.

Absolutely dreadful. The girl taking the order had no idea and got the order completely wrong. Meal not what I ordered and what did come looked awful Ended up leaving without eating. Been going there for many years. Will never go again

Haven't been for a while due to previous bad food but was recommended to give it another try by friends who told us it was under new ownership. We went for the special menu, poppadom, starter, main and rice or naan for £13.99. Starters was chicken puree (bland and bread disappointing) Sheekh kebab was nice. Mains chicken tikka was ok and lamb dansak was awful (bland and over salted). Sides were pilau rice which was microwave packet rice - rubbery texture and clumpy. Cheese keema naan with slightly bitter taste. Definitely not returning. Very disappointed. Can see why it always seems empty as you drive past.

food late and cold. driver complained couldn't find address but did not contact us to ask. Good job we have a microwave cold curry isn't nice

we went here on Saturday 9th two couples and found it to be a nice little cozy place the service was good , the food was really nice , we had four different meals and everyone said the same thing that the food was good the place was busy up until around 10 pm , definitely worth a visit

Ok so it was the weekend before Christmas eve and while I'm in the pub opposite ( cross) thought I'd get a curry to take home anyway called in to pick it up £9.50 that's all l wanted curry( garlic chilli chicken) nothing else but as before they always give One pomp and small mint onion salad but no not this time and only seven pieces of small chicken cubes , anyway it's not good enough £9.50 someone is taking the piss

Enjoyed a family meal, service was great. The lamb pathia was delicious and we tried a cheese naan as recommended and it was superb.

Hate writing a bad review as normally love the food here. We ordered a chicken rogan Josh and a chicken balti which we have ordered many times before. They were both way too spicy, we couldn’t taste any of the flavour of either curry due to it burning both our mouths. Got to say we were very disappointed and may not order from here in the future due to this

Best Indian Restaurant! Food is always Hot, Friendly Staff, Reasonable Prices.

Loved the curry / really tasty! The naan breads were a bit of a let down sadly they had a strong unusual taste for a peshwari. I’d order from here again certainly but probably avoid the naan

Amazing!! Ask for the lamb balti apna style

We have used the Balti in Kingswinford many times and it is consistently good. Our meal tonight was delicious with Tandoori fish starter and we both had different meals which were equally good. Staff were great with good service and nothing too much trouble. It is very good value and hard to beat for an enjoyable evening out. They are not licenced so take your own drinks and it is cash only.

Food is always amazing from here, always piping hot, and the best Madras too! My regular from now on 👌

Would give 0 stars, cooked a curry at home ordered a couple of rotis and a starter massive hair in salad that I had to pull out my throat food in bin called manager was out so we had a call back and attitude was horrendous, we videoed it which will now go to food hygiene, was told bring food back yes we will return our bin bag to you , absolutely disgusting nearly vomited,

Sat for an hour and 45 minutes waiting for our food to arrive. Gave up at that point and left. Awful customer service, told it was our own fault for being a large party! Never going back.

Ordered from here last night. Food arrived early and piping hot but sadly that’s where the good comments end ! Had chicken pakora and lamb tikka starters. Pakora ok ish hubby ate first piece of lamb and found chunk of fat Not a great start. Mains we both had the same Chicken and mushroom balti with garlic Naan and keema pilau rice to share. Both baltis once plated up oozed water !! Couple of mouthfuls later both decided the food was not edible and was promptly binned ! Plates were full of watery liquid Not had food from there for a couple of years and will not bother ever again. Complete waste of money !

Vile food, tandoori mixed grill chicken dry, lamb couldnt chew it, pathia wasnt like a pathia, naan bread not cooked rice tasted like was out of microwave packet.

We were recommended to this restaurant by friends and weren’t disappointed. A value for money menu, really good food and efficient staff resulted in a really enjoyable meal. Not licensed and take your own alcohol was allowed. I would recommend this restaurant and would definitely return.

French fries not chips, curry watery and had bones in it. By far the worst food we have ever had from you, but up to your usual standards

We ordered lamb balti and a bhuna and what we got was mainly warm sauce It was not worth 24 pounds and when I phoned them up i was just given a weak excuses just like the sauce (weak) it was the worse meal that I have tasted in a very long time I will not us them again which is a same as we use to have good meals from them If you what a soup you will be OK here

Not the best, very overpriced for the quality Garlic naan had waaaaay too much garlic on (and I overgarlic everything!) Popadoms were stale, chicken was dry and bland.

Errrr ye, not the best tonight had a chicken madras and a keema naan a cheese naan a chicken masaala and a chicken biryani NOT for all me. The chicken in my curry was ok but some was a bit tough, the keema naan was weard as it seemed a little sour so didnt eat it 5/10 for me sorry guys may try else where next time

We popped in here as a family of four on Saturday evening whilst passing through. The place had plenty of spare tables ,so lacked a little in atmosphere, that said...the food was gorgeous. Hot tasty dishes, served in dishes, good size portions. Staff were friendly, especially the owner who happily chatted to us about the cuisine and town. Would recommend. Very busy for takeaways too.

£45 for 3 curries, 3 naans and 2 rice!! Very expensive for what it was, but the curries were enjoyable. None of us particularly enjoyed our naan breads though and we all had different ones.

Really nice food. However the korma actually was spicy - (not being weird, I like hot food when I order it) but for some reason it was really spicy. Chips were fab though. Just not happy with the curry or the naan bread as this wasn’t cheesy at all

Asked to change my order as what I wanted wasn’t on the menu, via message. I’ve done this multiple times previously this time I didn’t revive what I had asked for. Tasty nevertheless. I also asked for it later as I was working, I was delivered an hour early thankfully I was home

Haven't ordered from here in a while and the food wasn't as nice as I remembered. The curries were watery and abit bland, I had to add seasoning. Overall abit disappointing.
