Great meals every time we come. Generous portion , nice pub and friendly staff. Plenty of parking. Would recommend to anyone

We stay at Hoburne Naish at least three times a year. The Walkford is our go to pub for consistently great value food and excellent Abbott Ale! This time we tried a Sunday lunch for the first time and it couldn’t be faulted, definitely the best in the local area. The two main meals deals are extremely good value, the food is always hot and well presented by very friendly staff. We returned for steaks on Thursday evening, the sirloins we ordered were perfectly cooked, thanks Alex, compliments to the chef! We will be back again to see you in April next year.

Popped in yesterday on the off chance that we could get a table. The lady that welcomed us was lovely and although they were quite booked up she managed to find us a table. All the staff were very welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. We chose a bottle of wine and two Hunters Chicken meals. It was all absolutely lovely. We would definitely recommend a visit.

We'd not been to the Walkford before, our family were coming down from Surrey to visit the Sammy Miller museum with us and we wanted lunch somewhere nearby. This pub was a great choice, the menu suited all three generations and the food was well cooked and was presented promptly. We had our labrador with us as they are very dog friendly. Two other families had dogs and the staff made a fuss of them all. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a friendly dining experience.

Although we live locally, this was our first ever visit to THE WALKFORD. We eat out daily and have been to many, many pubs and restaurants around this area, but planned on trying out this one today. The moment we entered we were greeted with a warm welcome and a friendly smile which, although is usually expected, surprisingly this is not always the case in all eateries unfortunately. After ordering our drinks we ventured into the garden area which is large, Well kept and enclosed and has a small play area for young children. There is plenty of outside seating which is laid out to give space between. As the pictures show, there is plenty of food available on the menu for all taste buds. Our particular meals were very well presented, cooked to perfection, hot and served on a warmed plate by friendly, helpful and attentive staff. All in all 100% satisfaction. We certainly recommend a visit to this very clean and welcoming establishment and wish to thank Alex and his team for the great all round service and hard work involved in the smooth running of THE WALKFORD!

Always a warm welcome, good food and reasonably priced drinks. £9.99 Bottle of Prosecco on Friday nights (Fizz Fridays) and other deals. Lots of good live music each Friday evening throughout the summer months. Staff are friendly and accommodating. It’s our favourite local pub restaurant.

Excellent menu with lots of choices available. Very reasonable prices and friendly staff. Dogs are welcome and there is a cosy fire if it's cold.

We had a Sunday roast at 5pm. The food was very good. Half way through our meal, guests were shown to the next table. They allowed their dog to sit on a dinning chair with paws on the dining table in the restaurant which I thought was unhygienic in a restaurant. When challenged about this, the management said it was a dog friendly pub, so we left after our main course, never to return.

Had a delicious macaroni dish with my family. The staff were super nice but it was a bit loud in this pub. Least people around us were happy, just had to have a chit-chat. Still, I highly recommend this pub. You can visit Milford on Sea just down the road to walk off the yummy meal.

We had a brilliant Sunday Lunch, the meat and seasonal vegetables were particularly nice.As well as a great range of options including vegetarian for those who don’t like roast. Very friendly staff. Fast service. Well priced and not to dear.

Nice pub but limited, a bit big and open for my liking. I would have preferred some small private areas or sections. Outdoors area is very nice. Limited selection of beers though

The food was ok....... Fancy words on the menue can always be misleading 😉 BUT......do NOT use the toilets!! I'm sorry to say this but the toilets were disgusting. No joke......the stench of piss was overwhelming and white mould on the door was alarming 😲 I expect it in Kathmandu but not in Walkford. I'm lost for words........ Eat the food and go to the toilet outside is the only answer 🫤

Lunch for 9 people. Menu was varied and catered for vegetarians as well. Reasonably priced. Good friendly service. Would go again.

i have been to have a meal with for years now and always enjoyed it BUT last night i had Hunters Chicken and the Chicken was really dry and any sauce was non existent and stuck to the side of the dish and Bacon was hard to find i was really disappointing as we always enjoy coming to you for the good service and pleasant waitresses etc

We went as a group of 40 plus u3a members to play skittles. We all enjoyed the evening so definitely recommend the Walkford.

Always have a decent time in here. Good tasty food, with good drinks selection. Reasonably priced and always have some sort of offer or deal available. Also have a bar area which allows dogs, a main dining area, and a great outdoor facility.

First time for a few years. Both of us had the fish, beautiful. Good food served quickly and nice hot plates. Good bar service and all the staff are very friendly and helpful. Ten out of ten.

We went there as a family for lunch with 10 adults and 4 small children and the staff were amazing and so friendly. The food was superb and we had such a great time. The steak and ale pie was especially good!

What a great place to eat the Service is fast and efficient the food hot and tasty with good size portions a great vegetarian options on the menu they really have it spot on here. Of all the local places to grab a well priced meal and drink this is the very best highly recommended

Good deals on lunches. 2 pub meals for 15 pounds which was a bargain! My children loved the luxury hot chocolate with marshmallows. Was a nice place to stop before driving off home after visiting Barton on Sea.

Lovely country pub. Very clean and tidy. Very friendly, helpful staff. The food was excellent in the main but I will say the traditional breakfast was a little greasy.

Been coming to the Walkford for quite awhile now and always found the food good unfortunately went for Sunday lunch the dinner turned up cold they gave us a new plate of food well I think it was the potatoes were like bullets and was generally disappointed. Great shame

My family and I went for a meal today. I had the macaroni cheese with rocket and foccata. The mac cheese was lovely but unfortunately the foccatia was solid couldn't even break it let alone bite it. I was Disappointed All the other meals were lovely. staff and atmosphere was good. AB.

Food was decent (had the steak and chips), although it wasn't brilliant. The atmosphere was lovely. Service was good, however, I look under 25 so I was asked to show ID for my alcohol purchase, to prove I was over 18 (which I have no issue with doing, and have done so in many other places), but I only carry a PASS CitizenCard with me, not my driving license - CitizenCard is a valid form of age ID from the government and part of the Proof of Age Standards Scheme (PASS), and is recommend for use by the Home Office in order to avoid people losing their driving licenses, and I've never had an issue with using it before. However, I was told that they can't accept a CitizenCard (why?) and can only accept driving licenses as proof of ID. This is despite the Green King website saying that any PASS logo ID is valid for proof of ID. It was quite embarrassing being told that I had to change the drink on my order, when I had brought proof of age with me and I've never had issues with CitizenCard in other venues before - I'd been really looking forward to having a drink with my meal after a busy day on holiday down here, so it was annoying to be denied my drink, despite having valid ID and the website saying it's acceptable. Besides this, the visit was quite good, and the food was decent, but I'm not sure I'd be in a hurry to return.

We visited today, but actually ended up leaving as we were sat down 20 minutes and noone came up to take a drinks/food order. Very disappointed. The pub wasn't busy at all, so no excuse.

Really nice place to relax have meal or just a drink in or outside, they keep sending me free drinks and food offers it's really good always accommodating.

At around 12.15 pm I went to the Walkford with a friend I am 76 years with mobility problems. There was one young girl about 17 years of age. We waited near the door as instructed by the entry desk for an allocated seat. There were about 6 + people at the bar. Just this young women serving them. I had to sit down at a table as my legs were giving out! To cut a long story short she came over to us and was very rude! I said we are customers. My friend said a few words to the person and asked to seethe manager. She said She was the manager. Here attitude was extremely rude. I said to the lady I was with let’s leave! We did. The so called manager still giving verbal rudeness to us!

Food good, staff nice. Can't complain. Price good too. Definitely recommend. 5 years ,can't beat that pub. Kid happy ,wife too

we arrived for lunch with friends from Surrey didn’t have a booking! we was seated promptly and had drinks and lunch on our table within 30 minutes. The food was very hot and delicious the service was excellent our first time here and we will be definitely going back.

Nice pub, nice atmosphere. Busy for a Monday lunchtime, but our meal for 3 people was really lovely. Very tasty, well cooked and arrived fresh and hot. Staff were kept very busy, but service was good.

Large car park to the front, exterior of the building could do with sone tidying/painting. Inside one half of the dining area has lovely wood floor and looks neat and tidy whilst the other half has an relatively dark carpet. On that side of the restaurant the chairs are all odd and some dirty and uncomfortable, the decor is d fashioned on that side too. That said, the staff and service was great and seated promptly with very attentive staff, the food was good and reasonable at £14 for a Sunday Roast, other choices on a varied menu.

I went to The Walkford with family for lunch on Friday 2nd Feb 24. I ordered the vegan Pea and mint risotto(stated on the menu it was a vegan dish) The meal I got was King prawn and chorizo risotto, I said no this wasn’t mine. The waitress proceeded to argue with me saying I didn’t state I wanted it vegan and that they do 1 risotto with everything on and you have to state that you wanted it vegan. I told her it says vegan on the menu not what she had just said. She again told me it was my fault. She went away and came back saying the manager had taken my food off the bill. On the menu they are 2 completely different dishes as I later checked. No one came over to say sorry and replace my meal as I suspect it had been put through the till wrong. My son picked out the prawns and chorizo and left me with the risotto but The feta cheese was crumbled so couldn’t be picked out. I’m quite shocked that I was left with a meal I hadn’t ordered, argued with by the waitress and no one apologised.

Love this place never ever disappointed especially as two meals on the pub grub for 14.99 ... Love it

Impromptu supper out. Fantastic service from Paige and the rest of the team. Friendly atmosphere, clean and tidy and food was piping hot and presented beautifully. A real midweek treat! Had the yummiest lunch today at the walkford, I had the vegetarian focaccia it was absolutely delicious so full of flavour! 10/10 to the chef Shay on shift! Lovely atmosphere and really sunny table, it was bliss, my friends really enjoyed there lunch too, we will definitely be coming back very soon!

We chose the Walkford to hold the wake after our mothers funeral at the New Forest Crematorium in Stem Lane. The Walkford was a convenient location which was easy to get to after the service. The staff at the Walkford were great, the buffet was well presented and tasted delightful - especially the sausage and pickle rolls. I would thoroughly recommend the Walkford, it is a great pub for food, functions and ambience.

We are new to the area and exploring local pubs. The Walkford pub, we had a lovely lunchtime meal of fish and chips x2 (on special offer 2 for £18) and a signature burger. The food was very enjoyable and great value for money. Nice surroundings, welcoming, happy staff. A good pint of draught Abbot Ale. Thank you! We shall be back!

We chose the Walkford for Sunday lunch. The Sunday roast sirloin beef was stunning. So much on the plate peas, carrot, parsnips, cauliflower cheese, roasties, Yorkshire pud & beef was lovely. Ordered extra pigs in blankets. Wife had a Mac and cheese with lovely garlic bread & my daughter had nuggets and chips (as usual). Wife loved her food & my Sunday roast was amazing . Daughter who is a fussy eater loves the Walkford and their food. For dessert we had sticky toffee pudding with custard and ice cream, so good! Daughter had chocolate brownie which she loves. Great service, lovely people & a great atmosphere what more could you want? We'll be back for more Walkford you can count on it!

We returned to lunch here as we were so impressed with Sally we had to come back as she made us feel so welcome and is great with our dog plenty of treats. It's nice to find a waitress with a smile and very knowledgeable all round. Will be back lovely meal as well.

Great tasting food, better quality than you average local pub meal Good choice of ales and spirits at the bar. Cheerful and laid back staff that do a really good job, give them a thank cause they work hard at making you experience a good one. We had booked an event for 30 people and use there skittle alley at the back, you can walk through to the pub to get drinks. We ordered food which was brought out to us, great quality and very good to cater for us and the pub customers.

Dropped in herein the way home from a weekend away. I live locally but had never tried it. It was lovely. Very friendly team, nice surroundings, good menu (it was a Sunday eve, about 6). The food was very good. I had soup and a roast, hot, fresh and really good value. We had 2 courses each and a bottle of wine, the bill was circa £55. I will certainly use it far more often and reccoemnd to friends. It’s so good to have a warm welcome, friendly service, great food and good value. Thank you

I visited your pub on the 23rd December for a quick drink with friends before Xmas. I was pleasantly surprised at a lady singing live music at the pub. We ended up staying until she finished singing as she was just amazing. Hope to see her again when we visit as she changed the atmosphere of your pub and made our day

Having been coming for the last 3 years for Boxing Day with the family this year was most definitely the last! Having been booked in and paid up since 1st November the service we received since we got there was appalling and not up to the previous years standards. We had been seated in the bar area with no other dinners around us, no waiter service and no attention from any staff for the whole of our visit. Upon entering we were told that we would be offered the same experience as in the restaurant area… but we were not. With three young children in tow, we were located furthest away from the female toilets, changing facilities and the outdoor play area… so were constantly walking through the restaurant back and forwards. Likely, unintentionally, annoying other diners in the process. When questioned why we were sat in the bar I was told by the young blonde waitress that it was because they had not been informed that an additional three dinners had joined our table and it had only been booked for 6 people and 6 deposits paid. Puzzled I said that when I physically came into the pub on the 14th November to provide our meal orders and check adequate deposit was paid I was told it had and all was in order! (6 adults and 3 children). We only in fact had to pay £60 deposit and actually my father paid £100 as it means there is less to pay on Boxing Day. I was then told she didn’t want to discuss it with me and she was very rude and abusive across our table shutting me down when I explained she was wrong about the comments she was making! (Clearly mistaking us for something else). After speaking with the on duty bar manager upon leaving we were provided with a small discount on the final bill of £30 I guess as a gesture of goodwill. Unfortunately despite the gesture, the treatment from the bar staff has been enough to ruin our trip and we will not be returning next year. Oh and the food was ok at best.
