The Stourvale Pub in Christchurch

10/10 experience and the bald guy behind the bar touched me with his generosity. He also is very attractive and serves me good headed pints.

Came out for a spot of lunch during my working break. Had a pint of RazorBack and Mixed grill which was cooked to perfection by Dan i believe. Locals seemed like a chatty bunch and all in high spirits. all in all the entire pub had a brilliant atmosphere about it and i will be sure to return soon. Keep up the great work.

I've been coming to this pub for ages now and every time the staff have been very welcoming and friendly the food is always great definitely recommend this pub and if your local don't forget the amazing meat draw you won't be disappointed on a side note the staff remember there locals and always make my son feel welcome he normally struggles with eating out because of he's complex needs but the staff go above and beyond to him feel comfortable

Absolutely a joke, booked about 4.30pm arrived about 7pm to be told no food served .. rude bar staff.. absolutely avoid .

This pub was recommended to me by a work colleague and I must tell you I was not disappointed, from the moment I walked in nothing was too much trouble, the food was excellent and the service impeccable, it was that good I returned the following night, top class 5 stars

Ok pub food only spoilt by constant foul language by other local clientele, felt landlord could have requested they tone it down, would not be in a hurry to return.

This pub is great for a quick meal friendly staff . Couldn't fault the meal it was cooked perfect . Value for money

Me and my wife popped in around 6pm, had two girls working behind the bar. One of the girls were lovely and polite, remember my wife complementing her purple hair. The other girl was too busy talking to her friends to see my wife waiting at the bar, and the lovely one was already serving a customer, but she still took the time to take my wife’s order at the same time which we both really appreciated and a place like this needs more of this one staff member.

Good things first. Friendly staff, and seemed to have a good community feel with the locals. Good for sport as lots of TVs but the food for terrible. My hunters chicken was burnt and rock hard. The steak and ale pie was tasty but soft as all the food is cooked in the microwave. The mash was instant and the gravy had thick skin on it all microwaved. The chips were nice and crispy. We were in and out in 35 minutes so this is not really a place for food and none of the locals were eating either. Maybe a good pub for drinking and sport but I won’t be eating there again but we tried it as it is one of our locals so after nearly 40 years we thought we would give it a go but no thanks not again

The pub is such a cosy environment and the staff are amazing, had a real lovely talk with Nixy, it’s good to see a smile on the staffs faces. Would definitely recommend the rump steaks!!!

This pub is absolutely amazing feels like a family that connects with each other and to have a laugh with. They took great care of me and I do have to say Kip and Ben were very quick and sufficient and was very happy with the service I was given. 100% recommend and I also heard Kip makes an amazingly mixed grill so if your a fan of a good juicy meal I’d highly recommend. STOURVALE!!!!

Good value for money simple pub grub. Sometimes a little busy when there’s a football game on. Pleasant family atmosphere good selection of drinks. A bit of a shame that the garden not enclosed and a bit more tidy.

1 car in the car park should have said it all really. Walked in to check the menu. No smile or even a hello from the staff. In fact the only thing they did say to us in the whole 3 minutes we were in there...was that children were not allowed in a certain section of the pub!! Website suggests "Family Friendly" far from it!! Disgusting.

Went to the stour Vale pub last night for a meal with my family ordered food at 7:30 waited for 45 minutes and asked the bar staff where our food was and she said it was gonna be a further 15 minutes as there was only one chef on.Asked to see a manager for a refund, but they didn't come to see us it was a member of staff the manager was at the end of the bar drinking when we first arrived.

Great Pub to go to. Drinks are a good price. The food is excellent and the staff are really friendly. Would recommend it wasn't too go for a free drinks and watch some sport or even just a quiet drink and chat

Día de llegada en vacaciones y realmente necesitaba un sitio para ver el partido. Había estado en el pub hace algunos años y recuerdo que era bueno para el deporte - no nos decepcionó con más de un partido y me enseñaron a ser una casualidad la que queríamos! Bebidas en precio promedio de la zona y una buena variedad. El pub sirve comida pero no comer en esta ocasión, así que no puedo comentar más. Único inconveniente, caminando a través de los fumadores para llegar por dentro, pero este pub no está solo con ese problema.

Absolutely fantastic pub! Serves amazing food and is such a pleasant place to come for a pint or two....3or 4 or 5 ;) lol I use this as my local now, Gerry and sue do an amazing job and have a very good team, thank you for making me fee very welcome every time I come in :)

As a Marstons pub the Stourvale serves good food at very reasonable pricee. They offer Meal & Drink deals on a daily basis.

Visit here often as local, It is basic, down to earth, and could do with a refurbishment, tables and floor could do with a clean more often as sticky and food dropped on it. On the positive side staff are friendly and helpful, food is good and menu has lots of choices.

A great little pub on the outskirts of Christchurch, not one to miss. Great food at very reasonable prices, and a very varied menu and real ales. All the staff were very friendly and could not do enough for us. We have now been there three times and its always good. Definitely worth a go. We called into this Marston's for a meal when on holiday at the New Forest.Oh dear we went in and it just looked so rough, not a nice family looking Marston's like we expected. We wouldn't have stayed but we had only just arrived on holiday and needed food and a drink.It was looking like a typical rough men pub and totally needs a refurb. It was not very nice.Saying that the food was very good and we was all impressed with that.

We dropped in here earlier today for a light lunch and a glass of real ale!Lovely little pub and everyone seemed very friendly!We haven't visited this pub or any of the others before so we can't really compare. However, we will return in the summer and perhapsspend a little longer than we just have!

One visit on weekend to Christchurch. Good staff and atmosphere, value for money food, perfect real ales and big on live sport. It's a bit frayed around the edges but it did not matter.

Myself and my Husband have just been to the VIP night to taste some of the food on the new menu, it was really lovely as usual, the food was fantastic & the service was fantastic, I have never been in a pub where the food & service has been this good & all the staff are so friendly. I'm going to start by saying what a turn around I've not been here for years(around 9 years)not that nice a pub before but it's now a pub for families and sports fans my kids had great fun searching the vast amounts of football scarves hung around the pub. The service was spot on from the bar staff quick and efficient the food was excellent for (pub food).We met the management of the pub (I think sue and gerry sorry if I got it wrong) the company should be very proud a asset to the company. Will definitely be back. We look forward to bringing our children to the next fun day they hold.The only downside is I think the pub looks tired and could do with being refitted (especially the men's toilets can't comment on the ladies).

Called in here for something to eat, but ended up with just a drink, as we decided against eating here, due to the table and menu being sticky and dirty , tables around us were still not cleared or cleaned while we were there with a drink in 40 minutes, wasn't even very busy, but not a place I will be returning too...

The place is really friendly the service is really the bar staff are very helpful the beer is good and the music and the event are great, good for watching football on the Tilly's

My husband and I visited The Stourvale to have dinner. I usually order Hunters Chicken at most pubs as it hasn't got wheat in being wheat intolerant, the chicken was succulent and the cheese was beautifully melted with golden, crispy chips straight from the fryer. It was the best Hunters Chicken I have ever eaten! My husband had liver and onions with mash, he could tell the mash was home made, very tasty and buttery. Would definitely recommend and I would happily eat it again.

We visited this pub based on Tripadvisor feedback. The food menu was extensive but not quite the standard we have enjoyed in other pubs we have been to in Dorset. It was ok but certainly not the traditional meals made from locally produced fresh ingredients which we hoped it would be, or at least what we chose was not. That said we cannot fault the service which was first rate and my husband liked the beer!
