The Noisy Lobster at Avon Beach in Christchurch

We were there last Sunday. Great location right on the beach with with views out the Solent with IOW in the distance. Food was good, service efficient but a little soulless, maybe because it was a Sunday lunchtime and people were there just to eat and move on.

Absolutely amazing. We went on Sunday afternoon and got in without a reservation. Staff were very attentive and friendly. Beautiful light bright venue with love sea view as its on the beach. Lots of parking and a few disabled spaces just outside the restaurant. Disabled ticket holders still have to pay for parking unless you have an exemption certificate from the council. Food was lovely and well worth the money. Would definitely go back here.

Excellent seafood restaurant on the beach, not cheap tho..

An excellent up scale fish restaurant, right on Avon beach with excellent sea views. Good food nicely cooked, BUT when a customer asks if he can have his Lobster linguine WITHOUT CREAM, and is told he can, why deliver it with cream? The resulting 48 hours of discomfort took the edge off of the experience.

Good take away service all round so be in in two units and a shop however the restaurant looks amazing need to try

We had our wedding reception at the noisy lobster 10yrs ago but haven’t been for a while.. But tonight we were shocked for a Monday evening the food was absolutely amazing.. I had the lobster it was probably the best Ives ever had… Also front of house staff Rachel and Fredrick were so refreshing, friendly, welcoming and spot on with service

Visited with friends for lunch having visited for dinner earlier in the week. Nice selection of dishes, obviously at a great location to look out and watch the world go by at the waters edge.

The view and location is amazing. The Food looks and tastes soo good. Food is freshly cooked local produce if possible. The staff are friendly and soo helpful. We were not hurried we had a leisurely meal, enjoying the view. All in All a wonderful tasty experience.

This could be my new favourite seafood place. Great menu, good efficient service, decent drinks, great view out across to The Needles. But The food is absolutely beautiful. Potted prawn and shrimp was fantastic. Exquisite scallops, beautiful, sweet Lobster, and the Tempura Prawns!! Lovely accompanying sauces, the wild garlic aioli is beautiful. The mussels were superb, with a decent broth. And to finish off a Noisy Lobster 99. A touch of nostalgia. Maybe a touch of strawberry sauce would make it better! Another place I'd like to give 6 stars.

We absolutely loved this place. The food was amazing, the service incredibly attentive despite the fact that they were super busy for Easter weekend. It's a bit pricey but worth it and we are planning to return👌🏻 Tempura and raw oyster as starter (tempura was my fave, the wild garlic mayonnaise is wowww) 😍 Main: Lobster Linguine Stone sealed sea bass fillet with gnocchi (Easter weekend special, there was some wild garlic in the sauce as well) - we really loved this combination. Drinks: 1x Beer 1x White wine glass 1x Espresso coffee Total: 108 pounds including service

Michael who served us today made the experience wonderful and found the food lovely.

Meal was lovely and the view is gorgeous however we saw more of an issue in payment. I was given a gift voucher by my friend yet i was not told the time aloud to use it within. They had no goodwill towards the money spent and did not take any money off of our meal - even though the voucher came to less than a 1/4 of the bill. The waiting staff was amazing but very passive agressive managed which took from the enjoyment of the meal in total.

Once again another amazing meal at the Noisy Lobster, service was great but not pushy, food is always incredible. Will definitely be returning.

We ate from the takeaway, had to wait over 30 minutes for our order. Good was great although there code have been more chips with the Haddock.

Super location with marvellous bright view engendered by the big windows overlooking the Solent. Lives the atmosphere and staffing is generous and to a high standard. Food is good. Worth paying the higher prices for this location and ambience. Has more economic options for lunch.

Can't be anything other than 5* Location too is just a bonus looking out on to the sea

I came here with a friend to celebrate our birthdays together. My friend got a bit emotional while we were out and had a lot of people staring and grunting at her. Clearly, we weren't as 'posh' as them. The food was delicious! The staff were attentive. We sat on the terrace outside. The only complaint I would have, is the face we were charged £4.50 for tap water. I never realised until we got home. But with a bill of £169 for two people, £4.50 isn't going to make much difference

I went last week with a friend we are both vegerterian, not only were there no vegerterian dishes, there was one vegan dish which didn't sound appealing, we were horrified when the lady in front of house suggested she got someone to pick out the fish etc that was in the pasta dish, we were not only horrified she even suggested it, but also extremely disappointed that there were absolutely no vegerterian dishes, we walked out, we had wasted money on parking for nothing, I'm adding this in reply to the managers reply to myself, the day my friend and I were there, ,at lunch time,we were told it was a set menu with an offer on two mains, there was only one vegan dish, no vegerterian dishes, we infact asked, and you staff member, who was very rude and snappy, did say the pasta dish had sea food etc in it and they would pick it out, she did not say they would cook it from fresh and make a vegerterian dish for us, I would like to point out not all vegerterians eat vegan food, We left this review in hope you would improve your menu,and customer service, but it seems you need to improve your attitude also, speaking to customers, who had genuine issues with your food, and telling them this did not happen, when it clearly did, you were not at the table when your staff said they could pick out the fish etc from the pasta. and your menu literally only had one vegan dish, no vegerterian dishes that day we went in, I suggest you start listening to your customers instead of shouting them down when they find a problem with your food, it's rude and unprofessional terrible attitude Your online menu for vegerterians looks amazing, so why when we asked for the vegerterian menu, we were told there was only the vegan fish and chips, and that there was no other options, but they would pick the fish out of the pasta. Seems anyone whom speaks out about their negative experiences at your cafe, you are rude to 🙄

Outside seating said first come first serve, we arrived and there was plenty of seating outside with 3 children but we got turned away as they said they weren’t taking walk ins ? Sunday lunchtime, restaurant wasn’t full so must be lacking enough staff. Hatch Menu is only fine if you like battered food or chips. Really disappointed we couldn’t get takeaway fresh seafood or things like lobster or squid from the hatch. Indoor cafe basic ham or cheese paninis, again no seafood options other than a lobster roll for £20. Pretty disappointing all round

Nice food. Quite pricey. Disappointing service. Quite a rude welcome and not very friendly or inviting. It seemed a bit stuck up for our liking. Wouldn’t be in a rush to go there again.

We had a superb lunch here after a lovely Mudeford quay-Highcliffe Castle walk. We pre-booked after parking in the morning and were glad we had as it was busy even on a drizzly weekday. Pre/walk coffee was most welcome from the hatch. Lunch in the restaurant was fabulous. Great service and good food.

Great restaurant set just off the beach with sea views from the table. The food is excellent so worth the cost.

Having lived in the area for 20 years, rest assured you will not find a better seafood restaurant locally. My parents are lucky enough to have the lobster as their local. We had a lovely evening while visiting them over Easter. The atmosphere is always lovely, the food most excellent and our waiter, one of the best we have ever had, sorry didn’t get his name but he comes for the summer and spends the winter in the US. Delicious fresh seafood , good value and stunning location. Service was excellent. We had lobster seafood plate , moules, prawns. Chilled vibe but cleverly done so feels ok for relaxed family or romantic couples dinner.

Lovely bank holiday meal in the sun with my parents. We were served by Aaliyah and she was very attentive, making sure everything was okay with our food and drinks.

Great food and very friendly service. Our waiter was Rodney who was fab (if a dead ringer for Rylan!!). When he wasn’t around the rest of the team stepped in. All the staff came across as a real team. All very generous to each other. That sort of stuff makes all the difference. We walked in on spec with two dogs in tow and they couldn’t have been more accommodating. Even bought us a fresh water bowl for the dogs. Menu is lovely and lots of drink options. I had a mocktail and normally find them very sweet and sickly but I can honestly say the drink I had tasted like a proper grown up drink rather than an over sugared children’s drink presented for an adult. Overall a faultless experience and when the bill came we were asked if the 10% service charge was ok. Which of course it absolutely was. Will deffo be back.

Yet another cracking lunch at the Noisy Lob. And we also had Easter baked goodies from the deli and bakery. The sourdough Peter Rabbit was a delight, as were the croissant bunnies and macaroons.

Had a lovely meal during the Easter bank holiday weekend. Staff are very attentive our waitress was Aaliyah and she was great. We had the steak and the platter for one and would recommend these to anyone.

Ordered takeaway from the restaurant and it was amazing. Lovely fish and chips, and proper curry sauce.

Excellently cooked lobster although chips were not exactly hot or crisp. Service wasn’t all that fast, but was friendly and helpful. There was plenty of “buzz” in the other dining area (there are two) and I guess that drew the team’s focus. But we were seated in the Sea side dining area which lacked any evening ambience. As it was dark and wet outside, I cannot comment on the view, but we would return perhaps when the evenings are lighter and hope for more atmosphere.

I had an absolutely fantastic dining experience at Noisy Lobster! The food was top-notch, with fresh seafood that was cooked to perfection. The atmosphere was lively and fun, and the service was impeccable. But what really stood out to me was the manager, Debbie. She went above and beyond to ensure that our meal was nothing short of amazing. Her attention to detail and warm personality truly made our visit unforgettable. I will definitely be returning to Noisy Lobster again soon!

This is a lovely restaurant on the beachfront at Avon beach. I did a walk-in on a Wednesday afternoon the restaurant wasn’t too busy. The views of the sea are amazing. I order the platter for one which comes with various types of sea food. The best part was the scallops and lobster, well seasoned and cooked. The staff were friendly.

If I was dieting for a modelling agency that meal would have been brilliant. The meal was extremely small and expensive and nothing special about it. it was served with new potatoes and we got served some sort of mashed up concoction.

Fresh food, very well seasoned and perfectly cooked. Worth at least 2AA - friendly staffing (especially Lana who looked after us with a beautiful smile on her face) and good value for money. The lobster was divine!

Gorgeous setting and an absolutely faultless meal. Went with 2 friends for lunch. I had pork belly with sticky toffee sauce - absolutely delicious, one friend had the hake which they said was amazing - I’m not a fish fan but this tried it and thought it was great, other had scallops and a portion of chips - scallops were so tasty that they wouldn’t even share! Dessert wise they had coffee and treats which was perfect for them and very good, I went for the chocolate lava cake which sent me into dark chocolate heaven (and a slight food coma 🤤) The place itself is beautifully decorated inside, clean throughout and has stunning views out to sea. The staff were delightful and knowledgeable about the menu - they even brought out a little cupcake with a candle as it was my mum’s birthday. Can’t remember the last time I genuinely had a faultless meal, so would recommend The Noisy Lobster highly (and in fact have already). Thank you for everyone involved there for such an enjoyable lunch, and hope to be back soon.

So exited to try the food as it’s has a very good review ! Went there to celebrate our wedding anniversary food was ok and so the service ! But I was just unlucky to fine hair on My food! They were kind enough not to charge me with the food but it’s just ashame :( I hope the people on kitchen wear hairnets!

Just on the side of the Fish& Chips stand. Not in the main restaurant. Chips like always were incredible. A bit to cold weather to fully enjoy the place. I understand that was quite busy, then maybe it's worth thinking about another person serving customers, one thanking the orders, second fulfilling them. Definitely on busy days like Sundays.

Great food, great location for our Wedding anniversary celebraty meal.

Came here for an ad-hoc meal after landing in the local airport, thoroughly enjoyed the meal with a lovely view to match!

Everything was fine until the end. My coffee arrived and so did the next sitting at our table so had to drink with people watching us intently. Shame, food was great.

Came to the Noisy Lobster for my mums birthday. They called me beforehand and sold me a cake to present to my mum which was a good idea for them. The restaurant location is fantastic, right on the beach front. The place doesn’t take itself too seriously, provides high quality food but doesn’t come with the usual level of pretentiousness that sometimes brings. The food itself was absolutely lovely and the staff were brilliant. If you’re looking for great quality food in a lovely location this is the place for you.

Food is good but certainly did not justify the price. I have no issues with paying for quality but this wasn’t any different from your usual fish and chips. The portion sizes were maybe slightly bigger than average but even so represents poor value for money. Many other restraints offer the same experience for a much more reasonable price.

Went to the shop which has nice things but pricey.

We went on a Friday night and it was very quiet. The food and service however was fantastic. 10 out of 10. We live in North London and go to Christchurch as often as we can to visit this restaurant.

We went for breakfast for my Mum's birthday. The food and service was amazing! My son has a peanut and sesame seed allergy and all the staff were fabulous in making sure he was well catered for. We loved the smoked trout and poached eggs - delicious! Oysters fantastic, especially with the seaweed vodka. All the staff were so welcoming 🙏 thank you! Oh and they even brought out a birthday cupcake for my Mum's birthday!

Over priced don't care about you if u are having just coffee and cake ... Even if a coffee is over priced . Ignored us once they knew we weren't eating !!

The staff were all lovely, very welcoming and extremely attentive, the food service was very fast also and they were able to cater to my partners nut allergy. The food was amazing I would give it over 5* if I could, we had a lovely window seat allowing us to look out onto the beach, the whole experience made our anniversary one to remember!

I can't believe this lunch only cost £20 for two courses! Beautifully cooked fish starters of gurnard, and mackerel. Mains of plaice, and butterflied red mullet. Delicious, all eaten whilst sitting and looking at the ocean.

A real gem offering fabulous food at a fair price in pleasant surroundings with exceptional staff-well done one & all.

Got a walk-in table on Sunday 7th jan for lunch - had to sit outside as we had our dog with us but it was fine - blankets were available and we were lucky with the weather for Jan! Really lovely place, the food was fantastic and the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. Awesome location and views when sat outside. Really enjoyed our trip and look forward to coming back for a longer evening meal.

We turned up without booking and luckily got a table. We had the best Eggs Benedict, amazing we didn’t want it to finish. Service was great and lovely happy staff. Definitely recommend 10/10.

Got food poisoning after eating what was supposed to be Gluten free, was not happy, and was so ill, not good after you spend so much money and you have to pay for parking, I called the restaurant saying how poorly I was all evening and night but the restaurant was very rude and not helpful at all. Not the standard I would expect from a pricey restaurant

Lovely, the staff were very friendly and attentive, food great, prices were as expected considering the location, all in all a great lunchtime experience.

One could argue that it is a little pricey ... but ... to get this quality food practically on the beach is a pleasant surprise in the UK. Well worth a visit and the fish is so fresh it must have been swimming past the Chef when he caught it..!!

Disappointing food; insulting service. We had high hopes for a good lunch and nothing hit the mark: - Seacuterie description didn’t translate into reality (the only one that can close to marching the menu was the ‘pastrami’) - Sticky duck samosas could have come from Iceland - Fish pie was underwhelming and pale (topped with sliced potatoes that looked plain boiled); broccoli side was cold - Sea bream was overcooked - The battered ‘fish’ (banana flower) in the vegan fish and chips was overcooked And then a big dose of racism on the side that we’re still struggling to process. The dish of vegan fish and chips was used to racially slur my stepmom with continual reference to ‘banana’. She was forced to deal with it there but we should have left immediately. A place to avoid on many counts, particularly given the vehement denial and lack of apology from the restaurant (see below).

Always freshly cooked and solid fish with crispy batter. Good chips not too greasy. Gone up market a little over the years with draft cider and lager and pizzas as well as lobster and crab dishes, all locally sourced. Worth the wait but it can be very busy in high season. Update Christmas 23 Had their 3 course Christmas dinner which was excellent with some good veggie and fish options. Great value as well. Update June 2023 Another excellent dinner on the terrace with great views over the somewhat misty bay. Update July2022 went to the main restaurant for dinner which we all had fish dishes which were fresh and well put together. Also had the chocolate marquise which was also excellent. They did miss my booking note that it was my friends birthday so I'd deduct half a star

Came here on a recommendation.. Very pleased we did... Wonderful evening, amazing food and great atmosohere.. Want to come back during the day next time
