The Noisy Lobster at Avon Beach in Christchurch

Great location with delicious food

We approached the Noisy Lobster and thought, "This is the place for us! We looked around all 4 of their food outlets before opting for a brunch of pancakes and maple syrup from one cabin and chips and vegan sausage from the other. Let me first address the rudeness: After an unusually long wait for the chips and overpriced vegan sausages (£7 for 2), and bearing in mind there was no queue, the young man carelessly tossed them onto the counter and waved dismissively towards the salt and pepper. Meanwhile, at the breakfast cabin, pre-made pancakes were placed in an old ice-cream tub and thrown into the microwave to reheat! One pancake ended up burnt, prompting them to microwave another while the rest sat on the counter getting cold. Re-heated pancakes from an establishment that has the monopoly on the whole section of the beach! How mean and unprofessional can you get? You'd think such an established company could manage to make fresh pancakes on demand - cheap! As for the coffee, one measly shot in a latte? Seriously? I did not ask for a babyccino! It felt greedy and money-grabbing! A decidedly disappointing experience!

Lovely food in a beautiful setting - the staff were friendly and attentive and the atmosphere was very pleasant. Food is pricey but I expect that for the location. We shared the ice cream sandwich for dessert which was divine! Would definitely return but couldn’t afford to bring the kids 😄.

Not good value for money,? 9. Pounds for a sausage & chips portion about the size of m ds , less than a half carton full need to give more

Excellent service and food with great views and a nice atmosphere. All the team were very attentive and the restaurant is in an excellent location.

Update: you noticed it before taking the payment and asked if the marker could be cleaned, which you noticed is not a permanent marker. You took the payment so you make sure we pay the service as well and then you came to us in a very aggressive way asking us to clean the table and we did it (so what you are saying there is a lie and I am not surprised). "I am not coming to your home and draw the table, here is a cloth and clean the table please", this is how you asked us to clean the table. We were not at your home there, it's a below average restaurant where we paid high prices and service charge. If you had kindly asked us to clean it, it wouldn't have been a problem. It's unfortunate that you've been in this business for so long and you still have a huge lack of knowledge on how to manage it and offer very bad service and food.

Only went to see where it was on the basis of a friend's recommendation. Now we know on the basis of what we saw, how popular it was etc it now merits a serious visit. Will let you know when and happened

Best seafood restaurant around Bournemouth - all the fish was fresh and not too heavy on the batter. All the sauces were fine tuned to perfection and the fries were also very good quality.

Took a day trip to Avon Beach Mudeford and happened upon this eatery. What a treat ✅️ comprehensive menu. Friendly attentive staff. Spotlessly clean. Good value fresh / local fish. Sat outside as it was a dog day out. Bowl.of water provided. Totally recommend.

Glorious beachside restaurant with lovely food and great service

Amazing view out over Avon beach. A real buzz growing around that area. Great food. The only reason for deducting a star is that I feel it's slightly overpriced. Great experience all round though

£4.20 for a cappuccino from the coffee kiosk in paper cup. It is a lovely spot but at this price bring your own. Recently been to London and Paris and not paid prices like this!

We went for walk at Mudeford and stopped here for a coffee and sausage roll sat at benches on the beach. Food and service was excellent and tasty. We will visit again as there are a variety of offerings, from beach snack, fish and chip takeaway and full sit down restaurant. Easy parking off Bure Rd and a few steps to get down to the beach walk. There is also a car park. Beside the Noisy Lobster for same level access.

Beautiful as ever , great service, cleanest of places but the food has gone down hill since I last went in 2020

Really delectable fish, I had the starter of the day, the lemon possit, and a Pi-no-colada mocktail, which was super delicious but was mostly ice. I would have liked a traditional shortbread biscuit with the lemon posit. I really like the look of the treacle and ginger tart, which I would have next time. The view of the beach is great for watching the ebb and flow of the ocean and people walking past.

We didn't feel that this sea food platter was good value for money at £45 per head. We felt hungry afterwards. 3 tempura prawns, 3 small scallops, and half a very small lobster!

Had a delicious Sunday lunch at the Noisy Lobster this week following their renovation. The interiors were beautiful and the service was brilliant - very attentive and knowledgeable. A stand out was the nduja oysters! Thank you, look forward to returning

Very disappointed with the visit. We have purchased 2 noisy platters. All came on one plate, not overly impressive. No service whatsoever. No interest from the staff.

The best Moule I’ve ever eaten. I’ve eaten Mussels a lot all over the the place, direct from the farm in Ille de Rey in Asia etc et. but…. Hand on heart… this was the best. The sauce was a delicate white wine and cream sauce with plump juicy Mussels. Well done Noisy Lobster!

Fantastic location. I managed to get a lunchtime walk-in for 2. The mussels were fresh & very well cooked. The platter was a plate at best & the lobster looked unhappy without the 1 claw he should have had. 1 glass of wine each resulted in a £120 lunchtime bill.

Recently remodelled and now very fresh and airy. Great food and service.

Very tube guy behind counter who really did not seem to know what he was doing. The toasted sandwich was not toasted just warm the fact that you have to question once for food then que again for coffee from a different outside counter and then que again at a different counter for chips is ridiculous. Will not be visiting again

Great location. Booking advised. You pay for the view. Platter is more like a plate, 1/2 lobsterhad no claw. Expensively lunch for 2.

Absolutely delicious and highly recommended. A spectacular view. My 7 year old also loved it.

We have been missing this restaurant. On the 2nd day of reopening, we decided to pop in for a quick lunch. The fishfinger bap was just the answer, washed down with a glass of rose and white Rioja. The fishfinger was delicious, with nice white flaky fish, prepared and cooked by the chef. Staff were welcoming and engaging, and there was nothing too much trouble giving swift service (which was ideal for us). The new layout welcomed, much more inviting. We can't wait for the warmer months and a chance to dine on the upper deck (once the refit is complete)

18 months ago gave this place a very average review - but credit where credit is due - much improvement. Lovely refurb, good service, and the quality of the produce (especially the fish) was very good. Possibly a pound or two per main over priced - but with the view on offer we can turn a blind eye to that.

Great food, great service and wonderful location. The Staff were great. Sophie was our server but all the days help make it a great dun enjoyabke meal. The monkfish was amazing. The sweets werw..omg.

A lovely beach side restaurant with delicious food and a gorgeous view. Staff were friendly and the cocktails very good. It's very busy, do remember to book.

Good coffee but a huge shock at the new prices (Feb 2025). We've used this place for years but not again. Two coffees, two pastries £14.40 for takeaway. Unethical pricing. We often come down in a large group but won't be in the future unfortunately. This has also put us off using the restaurant as they're just greedy. Refurbished recently so suspect they're trying to claw back some money. That should have been factored into pricing and spending for years in advance. We also had to pay for parking for the privilege of buying the most expensive coffee we've ever had and I've moved down here from London!

Be aware that when you are purchasing the 'gift voucher' it does not look like the picture on the website. It is a black and white email which includes unnecessary T& C's for the recipient ( the lobster is not even in red! ) I purchased one for a pressie and was really disappointed with the presentation....Glad that I didn't do the £1000 option!! ( Think it may be a mistake on the website)

It was a lovely experience. Food was really nice, with lovely staffs. When I visited it was very quiet which was also nice. Really liked its not too posh, yet very cozy atmosphere.

Shame on the management for evicting the local artist Paul Dolman from his studio, we are all eating elsewhere now

Very slow service for a couple of coffees

After a tiny glitch re seating, we had a fabulous New Year's Eve. The food was superb - much better than we had expected for the price. Well done to the Chef and kitchen staff!

Wonderful food and service in a great beachside setting

Second NYE in a row that we’ve spent here at The Noisy Lobster. The six of us had a warm festive front of house welcome, super lovely table with crackers, very busy all tables were taken & we sat down to a very good well served & (ordered in advance) NYE Dinner. Every dish we ordered we enjoyed including the pre dinner nibbles of trout crostini & beef croquettes. This was followed by various dishes including duck, steak, lobster thermidor, crab, seabass & creative desserts. Timely service, all spot on then afterwards it’s ’the disco’!! Oh my word who knew you could have so much fun here with complete strangers dancing, jumping, smiling, singing together. Super well done NL, cracking night, pictures below. Recommend.

Starting with the service, a warm welcome, then very good and professional service. Worse with the food, mackerel pate - the taste of the mackerel was dominated by the gochujang paste, the mackerel was imperceptible; fresh oysters with lemon, very good, I recommend; oysters in tempura - the taste was killed by the tempura and the oil in which it was fried, I do not recommend; mussels mariniere - very good, although it seems to me that instead of wine they used cider and finished it with cream; scallops in mustard sauce - a failure, the delicate taste of these mussels was completely dominated by heavy mustard, you can't do that, I do not recommend; lobster - I definitely recommend.

Watch out for the service e charge that gets added to your invoice.

Dire food, nonchalant staff and poor atmosphere.

The food was disappointing, probably not worth the price tag alone but presumably you're paying, at least in part, for the view. Service was brusk, though efficient - no smiles nor pleasantries, but food was out very quickly. Would only really recommend (with caveats) to a non-local hoping for beach views; better to eat elsewhere and then walk down though.

Food a bit expensive but nice area

Fabulous spot for a delicious lunch. Great portion sizes, service was exceptional and the food was so tasty. The restaurant was clean and cosy. We were a group of 8 and the staff could not have been more accommodating.

Exceptional. Bored of all the standard but overpriced breakfasts about. Thought we'd try here. Excellent choice. 13 quid fror breakfast but when I saw what I got I thought it was not bad value at all compared to other place. Great ingredients and perfectly cook. Their " home" hash brown was a beautifully cooked rosti type potato. It was lovely. Poached egg could not have been better. All in all one of, if not the best breakfast I've ever had. Add the great staff and super warm comfortable surroundings and it definitely falls into the " exceptional " category. Excellent job. Bravo !

We had a lovely meal with my partner, nana & grandad. The team were really friendly, kitchen was closing soon but they made sure we ordered and had a good seat for my grandad.

I’m going to be honest here, I’ve never personally eaten at the restaurant. But I have tried numerous times to get served at the hot drinks and cake hut, and have been blatantly ignored when queuing. People I know, all of which are residents around here swear by not going to lobster: preferring harbour hotel, cuckoos, Mudeford rocks or the haven as alternatives due to how a manager/ staff have treated them. So I can’t say anything for the food, but the managing staff have put off the locals, which is never a good sign when you’re a tourist.

Went here for dinner, starters, white bait and monkfish. Mains, noisy platter and cornish hake. All were delicious, nicest meal for a long time. Would definitely recommend and visit more often if we didn't live so far away.

We come here a few times a year and the food is always very good, the service consistent and the atmosphere very relaxed. Had lobster linguine which was great and included a couple of impressive lobster pieces. We also had the sea bream fillet, and the shellfish chowder and scallops. Not inexpensive, but worth it. Oh, and during the day there are good sea views from many tables, and there’s a decent wine selection too. Always reliable for Coeliacs.

The Noisy Lobster is a bit different from what I expected. I went in thinking it’d be more upmarket, but it’s actually like a posh diner. The staff were great – really attentive, which was a plus. The food was decent, not exceptional, but fair enough for the location and price. I had the fish finger sandwich, and while it was good, the brioche bun felt a bit too heavy. The “truffle” chips were a bit disappointing – just fries with a sprinkle of Parmesan and maybe a hint of truffle, if that. As for dessert, nothing on the menu caught our eye, so we ended up skipping it. Would I go back? Maybe. Probably around a 7/10.

I'm not one for drinking bottled ale and you can't ask for a taster with bottled beer. Well, at this point I'm assuming this is table service but weren't sure as we weren't told. Enquired with another table to which they said yes. 25 minutes mark we abandoned ship and walk. I have been to far busier places than this both in this country and in Europe. On these occasions, when it has been very busy, we've been informed there may be a delay but drinks order are taken and delivered. Would've been happy with that whilst waiting for food or at least someone to check in on us. Shan't be returning. Shame

Used the takeaway.... had lobster, chips and a bottle of wine. £71.00. Possibly the biggest waste of money ever. About 8 chips and barely any lobster. Absolute rip off. Wont be back.

Always a treat to have breakfast at the Lobster, Eggs Benedict is fabulous! Bit noisy as I was surrounded by tables of 6 and I was solo, but can't really complain about that. Breakfast with a sea view is special still.

Lovely restaurant, beautiful location on the beach, great food. Waiting staff mostly very friendly, although one made us feel a bit rushed. Kids meals are very small, adult meals quite large - tricky to order food for older kids / young teens.

Fabulous lunch by the beach. Beautifully cooked sea food. Service excellent. It was busy but we didn't have to wait ages for anything.

We made the journey from Southampton mainly to try out the lobster benedict midway through a walk and it did not disappoint. Looking forward to returning to try the noisy platter for one!

Had lunch today at the Noisy Lobster. The food was superb, the staff were great, the weather was fantastic and we had a table looking out to the sea. Special treat for us as we both had the Noisy Platter which was delicious. Would definitely recommend.

Thought this place over priced and overrated and now discover it has major food hygiene problem and only 1 star!!!!! Wow can’t believe it’s so busy still. I won’t go again.

Fantastic place Brilliant Food With Great Views

What a lovely meal! We popped down for my birthday treat and had a really nice time all the staff wished me happy birthday which was lovely and even brought me out a little cupcake with a candle at the end of our meal which was very thoughtful! Highly recommend we'll be back 100%

Not be going back after seeing their hygiene rating of 1

I would not recommend. We went this summer and the food quality was extremely poor and I found multiple hairs in my dish. We have always enjoyed our past experiences but this summer was dreadful. On top of all this I've just learned they have been given a 1 star hygiene rating from the inspector, disgusting and disgraceful...

Such a fabulous restaurant run by an amazing team who clearly care about this place. The food - hard to know where to start - just fabulous! Lobster sliders to share and kick off with were beautiful. If you come and are lucky, you will be served by Michael - one of the key staff overflowing with love for this place and care for the customers. Was a real special lunch today - thanks to all
