The Noisy Lobster at Avon Beach in Christchurch

Exceptional. Bored of all the standard but overpriced breakfasts about. Thought we'd try here. Excellent choice. 13 quid fror breakfast but when I saw what I got I thought it was not bad value at all compared to other place. Great ingredients and perfectly cook. Their " home" hash brown was a beautifully cooked rosti type potato. It was lovely. Poached egg could not have been better. All in all one of, if not the best breakfast I've ever had. Add the great staff and super warm comfortable surroundings and it definitely falls into the " exceptional " category. Excellent job. Bravo !

We had a lovely meal with my partner, nana & grandad. The team were really friendly, kitchen was closing soon but they made sure we ordered and had a good seat for my grandad.

I’m going to be honest here, I’ve never personally eaten at the restaurant. But I have tried numerous times to get served at the hot drinks and cake hut, and have been blatantly ignored when queuing. People I know, all of which are residents around here swear by not going to lobster: preferring harbour hotel, cuckoos, Mudeford rocks or the haven as alternatives due to how a manager/ staff have treated them. So I can’t say anything for the food, but the managing staff have put off the locals, which is never a good sign when you’re a tourist.

Went here for dinner, starters, white bait and monkfish. Mains, noisy platter and cornish hake. All were delicious, nicest meal for a long time. Would definitely recommend and visit more often if we didn't live so far away.

We come here a few times a year and the food is always very good, the service consistent and the atmosphere very relaxed. Had lobster linguine which was great and included a couple of impressive lobster pieces. We also had the sea bream fillet, and the shellfish chowder and scallops. Not inexpensive, but worth it. Oh, and during the day there are good sea views from many tables, and there’s a decent wine selection too. Always reliable for Coeliacs.

The Noisy Lobster is a bit different from what I expected. I went in thinking it’d be more upmarket, but it’s actually like a posh diner. The staff were great – really attentive, which was a plus. The food was decent, not exceptional, but fair enough for the location and price. I had the fish finger sandwich, and while it was good, the brioche bun felt a bit too heavy. The “truffle” chips were a bit disappointing – just fries with a sprinkle of Parmesan and maybe a hint of truffle, if that. As for dessert, nothing on the menu caught our eye, so we ended up skipping it. Would I go back? Maybe. Probably around a 7/10.

Once shown to our table and given menus we were 'abandoned' for over 20 minutes without any staff interaction. Not even a drinks order taken. This place needs a floor walker to ensure everyone needs are being met. Only two draft lagers on (one being Asahi which is not my favourite) plus a Guiness. I'm not one for drinking bottled ale and you can't ask for a taster with bottled beer. Well, at this point I'm assuming this is table service but weren't sure as we weren't told. Enquired with another table to which they said yes. 25 minutes mark we abandoned ship and walk. I have been to far busier places than this both in this country and in Europe. On these occasions, when it has been very busy, we've been informed there may be a delay but drinks order are taken and delivered. Would've been happy with that whilst waiting for food or at least someone to check in on us. Shan't be returning. Shame

Used the takeaway.... had lobster, chips and a bottle of wine. £71.00. Possibly the biggest waste of money ever. About 8 chips and barely any lobster. Absolute rip off. Wont be back.

Always a treat to have breakfast at the Lobster, Eggs Benedict is fabulous! Bit noisy as I was surrounded by tables of 6 and I was solo, but can't really complain about that. Breakfast with a sea view is special still.

Lovely restaurant, beautiful location on the beach, great food. Waiting staff mostly very friendly, although one made us feel a bit rushed. Kids meals are very small, adult meals quite large - tricky to order food for older kids / young teens.

Used the take out booth. Absolutely disgusting prices. £4.20 for a small hot chocolate After the actual noisy lobster eat in restaurant getting a 1 for hygiene ugh we were surprised to see so many people in there. Never gonna buy anything from there again. Avoid!!!!!!!!!!

Over priced, poor quality, poor service and terrible food handling and hygiene as proven by them getting only 1 star in their latest inspection. Avoid at all costs.

We made the journey from Southampton mainly to try out the lobster benedict midway through a walk and it did not disappoint. Looking forward to returning to try the noisy platter for one!

Had lunch today at the Noisy Lobster. The food was superb, the staff were great, the weather was fantastic and we had a table looking out to the sea. Special treat for us as we both had the Noisy Platter which was delicious. Would definitely recommend.

Customer service was excellent. The food was very delicious. I would definitely be coming back again.

Thought this place over priced and overrated and now discover it has major food hygiene problem and only 1 star!!!!! Wow can’t believe it’s so busy still. I won’t go again.

What a lovely meal! We popped down for my birthday treat and had a really nice time all the staff wished me happy birthday which was lovely and even brought me out a little cupcake with a candle at the end of our meal which was very thoughtful! Highly recommend we'll be back 100%

I would not recommend. We went this summer and the food quality was extremely poor and I found multiple hairs in my dish. We have always enjoyed our past experiences but this summer was dreadful. On top of all this I've just learned they have been given a 1 star hygiene rating from the inspector, disgusting and disgraceful...

Food Hygene Certificate of just ONE!!!! That's terrible I won't be returning ever.

Such a fabulous restaurant run by an amazing team who clearly care about this place. The food - hard to know where to start - just fabulous! Lobster sliders to share and kick off with were beautiful. If you come and are lucky, you will be served by Michael - one of the key staff overflowing with love for this place and care for the customers. Was a real special lunch today - thanks to all

After a beautiful walk from Highcliffe along the beach I was able to enjoy a delicious lobster on the roof terrace of this great restaurant! They were able to accommodate my gluten allergy, including serving me chips with my lobster. Highly recommend a visit

The mussels on toast just incredible; the sauce out of this world, SO clever. The tempura prawns and the beer battered haddock also fantastic, please pass on our appreciation and congratulations to the chef/s. We had a truly memorable lunch. Thank you so much, again. Originally went round to order at the takeaway section of this establishment. Unfortunately their fryer had just broken down and as such said pop round to the main restaurant to order takeaway. No issues at all completely understandable. Unfortunately when I got there they weren't aware of this and had to go back and check. Again completely understandable. Unfortunately this is where it was let down a little bit by some slight comments by 2 staff who thought I was probably out of ear range about why are they doing takeaway. Such a shame that let it down a little bit as the food was absolutely amazing and I would come back here as an adult only visit but maybe not with my family.

Great place on the beach. Food was very good although portions a little small. I would definitely return again for the views, service and good quality food.

We ate here after a recommendation and it was fantastic. Best steak and lobster meal we have ever had and they were very accommodating with my Nan who was very frail and couldn’t walk far. Car park directly next to restaurant and fantastic views. Would highly recommend!

The food was very amazing been a while since I had such amazing food probably in South Africa. The service and inclusiveness from the restaurant staff (Bella) and patrons was very warm and top of the notch, keep it up Noisy Lobster.

A wonderful sunny day to enjoy our first visit to The Noisy Lobster. Relaxed environment and the food was absolutely glorious. Sliders were a highlight.

Service took ages. Waiters were incompetent. I was beginning to wonder how long it takes to serve a slice of bread. The drink was poor. They pretty much gave me a cup of ice and a 10th of drink. Would not come with children and a group over 4 people

First time we tried this place and it did not disappoint. The view out over the sea is beautiful, staff very friendly and attentive. We had steak, cooked to perfection and lobster as a main which was amazing The octopus starter was outstanding however the monkfish tail starter was a bit underwhelming to say the least. Overall we had a lovely time and will definitely return soon. We had two starters two mains and two cocktails, the bill was £140.

Had the Noisy Platter meal for one yesterday lunchtime, within hours I was experiencing sickness and diarrhoea, the lobster did feel a little tough compared to normal, also included prawns and scallops. I phoned today with my concerns but was met with total disinterest. Don’t think I will going back again anytime soon.

We've walked past many times but this was our first visit. We have been missing so much! Food was amazing and the service was fantastic.

Never had a bad meal at the Noisey Lobster. Attentive, polite staff, excellent service and great, imaginative food. Went with my wife for nice meal, in a great seaside location out and were not disappointed. Will go as often as our budget allows.

I had the platter for one which was really nice but the linguine was so small, it had more lobster than pasta… the staff were polite.

Have walked past lots of times, and this time was organised enough to book a table for kids and I. Service from the start was excellent and staff lovely. Extensive menu made it hard to choose, with similarly excellent wine list. Food was perfectly cooked and delicious, views fantastic, and service spot-on. Will definitely return.

My husband and I have wanted to visit the Noisy Lobster for years and as it was our Silver Wedding Anniversary we decided to treat ourselves - we were not disappointed! My husband knew what he wanted before we even got there - The Noisy Platter for one - which he really enjoyed. I decided on the mango poke bowl with tiger prawns which was absolutely delicious. Our drinks and desserts were also fantastic - I recommend the Prawnstar Martini. What made our meal even more special was the the amazing service we received from our waitress Amelia. She was so friendly, helpful and an absolute delight 🤩

No longer have vegan fish and chips on the menu, which was AMAZING and gluten free. So disappointing. Much of the menu has changed in fact - only one vegan main dish (nearly £20 for a bowl of veggie black bean poke) now when there used to be several. Really don't understand why these changes have been made but if you are vegetarian or vegan I wouldn't bother going there - It's basically a fish restaurant now.

Second visit a year apart and good food for all four of us. We all had lobster in some form and I had octopus to start with which is a must have! Thank you noisy lobster!

Overpriced considering it has a monopoly where it is

The service was excellent, with special thanks to Michael who went above and beyond. Delicious food. We knew they couldn't guarantee an outdoor terrace sea view table when we requested it when booking well in advance but they were very accommodating and we had a wonderful sea view inside.

Quite expensive for fish and chips but food were nicely cooked and tasty. That batter weren't soggy or stodgy. Friendly staff and polite and great atmosphere. Although it's expensive but it the price that you would expect from the seaside restaurant. We would like to go back there again.

Nice Lobster slider starter, conflicting flavours in the main special supreme cod. Whole cornish sole main was excellent, so best the go for simple dishes. Not great value for money. Lunchtime atmosphere was subdued. Service slightly grating with the false bonami.

Executive food well made and fresh had to wait a while but was worth it

Ordered take out via their hole in the wall. Food was really good though quite pricey, but you do get what you pay for and on this occasion it was worth it. Service was good and food came out quite quickly.

Good food, great service. The atmosphere lives up to its name. Aggravatingly noisy. We were seated next to an especially loud family. People shouting at each other across the table. Kids on full volume tablets next to our heads. We expressed how unpleasant the experience was to our server after moving tables to escape the ruckus. the manager (who we had never seen) stopped us on our way out-after we paid the bill-and asked for feedback. We shared what a terrible experience we had had. We were interrupted by a drunk patron coming in from smoking who said we should “pay attention to the name [noisy lobster] and stop giving this woman a hard time.” The manager told us they would learn from this experience. We left the restaurant to see the manager having a big laugh with the drunk patron through the giant bay windows. I cant remember leaving a restaurant feeling more bothered. If you’re looking for a peaceful meal, this is not your place.

Attended yet another wine tasting with some friends. Delicious food and a lovely atmosphere on the upper terrace overlooking Avon Beach and the Isle of Wight.

Great place to eat, food was amazing. Busy little place, would advise to book, we were able to walk in without booking though. They had no problem letting me know would I could have as I have allergies, Avon beach car Park next to it. Great views of the beach, also has an ice cream parlour, deli and shop associated to it. Last day of our short break to the New Forest and we came here as a treat. Excellent food and promptly served. We were seated inside (by choice) but still had a lovely sea view and with the large windows wide open it was very comfortable dining.

Good seafood but expensive. Fish and chips was good and tempura prawns were delicious. However, the half lobster drowned in garlic butter and I couldn’t taste the lobster. The serving for the half lobster was small for the price. Service was good but a little bit too attentive as they regularly interrupted us chatting to check in on us.

I was really looking forward to eating at this restaurant right on the beach until I had a look at the prices, over £20 for fish and chips, forget it.
