Really outstanding meal and wonderful service.

A long, leisurely lunch. Delicious food and exceptional service. We were extremely well looked after by the staff. Service on point, swift and courteous. Food arrived quickly and tasted great. We chose from the weekly set menu which was great value for money. Super fresh and delicate Mackerel for starters followed by an excellent bream. Our glasses were topped up throughout and we just had an excellent time. So much so that we were the last ones to leave.

Brilliant x30th Anniversary lunch. Outstanding beautifully prepared exquisite food. Understated exceptional service. 1st visit - will not be the last.

This review is about 3 months late but I promised I wouldn't forget to leave a review. We visited the Jetty for my Dad and his partner's joint 60th birthday dinner, and we had the best time! The food, atmosphere and service was perfect. Daniel our waiter was brilliant and immediately matched our energy, joined in some jokes at the right time and bought out a surprise birthday dessert without any of our knowledge. Above and beyond service. Thank you, Daniel!

Had the mini Gastro which we’ve had a couple of times before and on previous occasions it’s been exceptional. This time however, the food was lacking. The amuse buche was ok but a bit spicy for the start of a meal and just before the Devilled crab crumpet with tempura soft shell crab and coriander which was very bland and didn’t taste of crab at all. Then came the pumpkin risotto which was fine. The ‘main’ was a piece of cod with brown crab topping, but again the taste of the crab was almost completely lost, maybe due to heat? The best course was dessert Iced Chocolate Parfait with Griottine cherries and cherry ice cream. All in all a pleasant experience with good service and a nice atmosphere but we did not enjoy the mini Gastro this time around.

There is just something very special about The Jetty and I don’t think I will ever tire of writing a review as there is always something to celebrate and acknowledge. All the staff are exceptional with a friendly welcome, attention to detail and attentive service. All the food is beautifully cooked and presented and there is so much choice meaning there is something for everyone. The view speaks for itself and the atmosphere is lively and busy. For us, it is Anna that makes coming here for lunch exceptional - her care, her recall of previous conversations and food choices - what a memory - and her sincere and genuine nature is exemplary so thank you! We must also thank those who enabled Mum to celebrate her birthday in style at the start and with an additional treat at the end; this is why we travel from the other side of the forest!

A fantastic dining experience, definitely recommend and the fish was amazing.

My wife & I had dinner there recently whilst staying at the Harbour Hotel. A warm welcome is always a good start to a meal & so it was here. We both had a 2 course set meal @ £29.50 each which was very good value. My wife had Buttersquash soup followed by a Wild Mushroom Risotto, both excellent. I had a chicken dish for mains & a dessert I don’t remember the name of but it was outrageously sinful! The wines were also very good. We had a Malbec I think. Overall the meal was a very enjoyable experience & the Jetty is well worth a visit.

Great location with views over the water - comprehensive menu and good food - service ok - but it is perhaps a little over expensive

We come here every year from NW of London, to celebrate our wedding anniversary as Alex Aitken was the Head Chef at Whitley Ridge where my wife and I spent our honeymoon, so Alex's food holds special memories for us. Anna looked after us tonight as she has done before with the same skill and professionalism. Nice work as always Anna, thank you. Our table was late being ready tonight but no problem, we were not in a hurry and our hosts looked after us with drink and nibbles while we waited. Our meal this evening was delicious. Crab, sole, salmon, venison (not all on the same plate) were our food of choice, with a nice bottle of Chenin Blanc. Dessert was delightful. Lots of chocolate, ice cream, pastry and crumb. We'll be back as we were not disappointed. We knew we wouldn't be. If you've not visited please do. I think if you're a fan of seafood you'll be at home here and there's always enough for those of you who prefer turf to surf. Either way I hope you enjoy it as much as my wife and I have over the years. Update 2024: here we are again. Lovely meal, great service, atmosphere was great, absolutely perfect. We'll be back again next October.

Beautiful setting, service, place settings, staff all of a very high standard & helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. Price was OK for a special occasion.

Another exceptional meal today at the Jetty today! We took my mother and aunt who are visiting and the service, food, atmosphere was exceptional as it always is! The jetty just gets it right and the team are truly very special. Thank you for all you do making everyone’s experience fabulous!

I feel abit bad only giving it 3☆'s as it was highly recommended. Firstly i booked it online and let them know my son had a peanut/nut allergy. On arrival we weren't even asked our name and we were led to a table with beautiful views. I tried to let the manager about my sons allergy who didnt seem to care very much and said there were no nuts on the menu and the first thing i spotted was a dish with pistachios. So for a very expensive restaurant they were not very knowledgeable on allergies. The bill at the end for a 2 course x 3 with no alcohol just water to drink as we were all driving and we werent asked once if we wanted soft drinks for £225 i didnt think deserved 5 stars. On the plus the restaurant was beautiful on stunning surroundings and the waitress with the pink/purple hair was very nice.

Incredible location looking over Christchurch harbour with views of Mudeford quay and the Isle of Wight through the trees. The staff were welcoming and attentive without being intrusive. Delicious seafood, the cockle popcorn was so good. We all had something different and each dish was perfect. I will definitely be back.

We came as a party of seven to celebrate my dad’s 84th birthday. I had popcorn chicken followed by surf & turf. The service was very pleasant and the view nice but the review reflects all our feelings that the food was nothing special for the price tag. My popcorn chicken was dry, overcooked and delivered with no dips. It was far below parr. The main course was nice enough but again, nothing special. My sister-in-law had the salmon and described it as flavourless. Dad had the crab - his personal favourite but said it wasn’t a patch on Rick Stein.

exceptional fish restaurant with outstanding views of Muddeford Harbour. Service was friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. only recommendation - don't bother with the set menu as a la carte options were much better.

Catch up with my daughter on a rare day off. The service was perfect and the food excellent. I love this place, although parking is an issue so leave plenty of time.

Our second time at The Jetty and again beautifully prepared cooked and presented food, Cod with the Crab and herb crust was excellent, light and full of flavour. Andre our waiter could not be more attentive, friendly and able to advise on wines to suit our meal a truely courteous and professional member of the Jetty Team. I will leave room fit dessert next time as the bananas soaked in rum with chocolate etc were calling my name!

My wife I went for our 15 year anniversary. The food and location were excellent but what really made it were the staff. Such a lovely meal topped off by a lovely surprise from the staff!

We had lunch here as a birthday treat in late August on a Wednesday. We had drinks on the hotel terrace overlooking the lagoon and watched the world go by, really quite delightful. Recommend the garden martini. The maitre’d was really welcoming and we had a choice of dining indoors or on their terrace , as it was a lovely summer day, we decided outdoors. We had the choice of menus , one aka carte or fish. Starters were a seafood arancini and scallops with a courgette mousse and mains were lemon sole with a salmon mousse and dover sole with samphire and tenderstem broccoli. All were delicious, however the samphire was cold. Service was hit and miss, I suspect if we had dined indoors it would have been better. The head chef was around on the day, but took no effort to engage with the diners , which is a real shame. Please be aware that parking on site is limited, so arrive early.

My friend and I ate at The Jetty yesterday lunchtime to celebrate her 60th birthday. We had a wonderful time, the staff were friendly and helpful without being intrusive and the food was fabulous! It was so tasty and fresh and well presented. The happy birthday plate was a lovely touch too. The location is fantastic and the view from the floor to ceiling windows was gorgeous. The only thing was, the trees and bushes obscured the view, if they could be cut back to around one meter in height, it would make the most of the view.

We had the most amazing experience at The Jetty for my husband’s 40th birthday. From the start we were treated like royalty and were given a table right on the water’s edge with the most amazing views! The food was fabulous and the Arnold Benedict soufflé was phenomenal thank you for the recommendation lovely Magda! Elizabeth, Magda and Owen were absolutely wonderful throughout our meal and took the most amazing photos too! The whole team were wonderful and food was brilliant! Thank you so much we’ll be back!

Bad experience, the service is soo slow, don’t take the dirty food, need to sit amoung dirty dishes … The food is overall good , but service is really poor

Predominantly a fish restaurant near Mudeford Key. Part Of the Hotel. restricted parking not enough spaces. Food and service was very good, my peppercorn sauce was runny at additional cost £3.50. Good selection of wine but expensive.

Wonderful food and service. Professional and yet laid back. Souffles are superb. The only slight criticism is that the construction means the sound of a full restaurant is too intrusive making conversation almost impossible

Been coming here for years, never ever fails to impress. First class service, stunning food and surroundings. You can't go wrong.

Came here as a treat for my 40th birthday and what a treat it was. Stunning views, great food and stellar service. We went for the A la carte menu but all had different things. The souffle Arnold Bennett was brilliant, as was the crab risotto and cockles popcorn. The waiting staff were so good as well, catering to all our needs and having a chat with us as well. If you're in the area and have a special celebration, it's well worth the visit.

Highly recommend the Jetty and especially Phillipe and his team for making our evening the most special amazing night! It was a pre wedding celebration and 30th birthday on Saturday 3rd August, it was the perfect setting, the table was beautiful and food amazing and the service and care taken to make it so special was simply the best! Everyone who came commented on how lovely it was! Thank you and we shall definitely be coming again!

A weekend of celebrations and I found this by accident and what a find mainly fish. Kind and patient staff with a menu that spoilt us for choice. As it was a Sunday they did have a road as well

Food very good!!! Dishes and pots super squeaky clean due to an extremely hard worker who I believe is called Caspar who must deserve a raise very soon, well done Caspar!!!

As a treat for our second wedding anniversary, we went to The Jetty and it was exceptional all round. From the start the staff, to a person, were warm and helpful, attentive but not over-bearing. The location is wonderful, overlooking the harbour at Mudeford - where else do you get to dine and enjoy these views and the close company of oyster catchers and swans?! The atmosphere was lovely - relaxed yet formal enough to be a special experience. The fact that it was rammed to the gills on a Monday evening speaks volumes of the quality. I should also mention that the value for money is astounding when the quality of everything is taken into consideration. The food itself was absolutely superb. As a vegetarian, I can often feel short-changed but this was outstanding. A starter of a green garden vegetable risotto that was rich yet fresh, perfectly balanced. The main of salt-baked celeriac was amazing - the umami crust , the flavours and textures just worked so, so well. The desert of chocolate fondant with honeycomb-themed accompaniments was delightful and just the right size in proportion to its deep richness, the perfect end. Overall, I can't emphasize how happy we were with the experience; we left with great big smiles on our faces and will most certainly return.

One of the best restaurants I’ve ever visited! The view of Christchurch harbour is fantastic and the steak which I had was the best I’ve had. The staff were also very attentive and helpful. There is a wide variety of meals available on the menu and choosing what to go for was difficult as there was so much good stuff to pick from! If you’re in the area definitely go here.

Great venue with lovely views. Went in the evening with friends but it was really noisy. We had to almost shout across a very small table just to have a conversation. The food was good, not great and really overpriced. Staff were helpful and friendly. Parking was a nightmare, we ended parking in a side street 400m away. Don't bother if you want an intimate dining experience. 😕👎🏻

Daniel was wonderful! Food kept everyone happy, lots of choice and mostly very tasty. Lovely setting and perfect for a family special occasion.

I cannot rate this restaurant highly enough. We went there for a birthday treat. It did not disappoint. We were given a warm, friendly welcome. All staff were very attentive to all diners, despite restaurant being full. We were served quickly. The food was amazing! Highly recommend Alex’s twice baked cheese soufflé, followed by fish & chips - so fresh. We would like to thank ALL the staff who were so friendly and helpful. The view from the restaurant is so relaxing / the sea in mudeford harbour. We will definitely be going again

A perfect place for birthday celebrations or just catching up with friends. Perfect setting too. The only minus was the noise as the acoustics aren’t very good so if you in a big table you can’t hear what everyone is saying and the floor was rather sticky! Daniel, our waiter was marvellous!

Absolutely fabulous setting and what a lovely restaurant. Staff couldn't have been nicer, especially Andre are waiter, really went above and beyond. Food was outstanding, we all had different dishes and couldn't fault any of them. My cheese and lobster souffle was out of this world! Can't wait to go again.

I was lucky to have had this trip to the Jetty as a gift...it was Lunch with Alex 3 courses with a cooking demonstration...we loved all of it! Ghe demonstration and the wonderful food!

Great food, friendly staff and lovely location

The restaurant food is great and the setting is lovely. Be warned that the parking available is extremely limited (small number of spaces/ tight car park) and local roads + businesses are keen to ensure you don’t park nearby. We felt guests deserve more support when visiting in that regard. The 20+ mins having to faff parking and walking to the restaurant was not expected or the ideal way to start a ‘special’ lunch.

Fantastic spot if it's sunny and you have a table by the harbourside

Service was so fast that it took longer to get ready than be served three courses. Staff seemed to be on speed mode. We declined dessert having had three courses delivered in under 70 minutes. A tense atmosphere was not the special experience we had anticipated. Food was nice but nothing special .. underwhelming. Menu very similar to upper deck restaurant in the hotel. We expected much better.

Visited The Jetty with my husband for my 60th birthday!! Weather was fab and sat in garden as we arrived early. Very attentive and friendly staff. Food excellent. I had the three course set menu which had plenty of choice and tried things I would never have tried before. My husband had steak which melted in his mouth with truffle chips and mushrooms. Table wiped down between courses and staff very nice.

Absolutely splendid from start to finish. Service was brilliant - shout out to Tani, who made us feel welcome and to the waitress that arranged to have the menu items adapted to our halal sensibilities. The food itself came out like works of art and they were scrumptious - I didn't expect any less. I wanted to have desert but was stuffed after the mains and starters. The skate from the fish platter wasn't to my taste - but this was on me as it is as it is. The delightful visit was finished off with a thoughtful and lovely complimentary happy birthday dessert taster. Definitely would visit again. Highly recommended.

The best meal we've had in Dorset! From the moment we arrived, the staff were friendly and welcoming. Our food was incredible - beautifully presented and full of flavour. The setting of the restaurant itself is stunning, with incredible views out over the water. We will be recommending The Jetty to friends, and absolutely hope to visit again!

We booked a 50th birthday celebration for my daughter (Mrs Howes) for yesterday evening. As it was her 50th birthday my wife made a lovely cake to take to the restaurant. When I asked the manager if we could bring the cake in to celebrate after the main meal, he responded by saying it was ok but there would be cover charge of £5.00 per person if they did not eat one of their desserts. Then he said “ well let’s see how the evening goes and then make a decision “ basically saying if we spent a lot there would be no charge for cutting the cake. At no time after did the manager check to see what the bill was (bearing in mind we had spent £610 ) so we fit not beg to ask again. This was very disappointing as we have been to better restaurants and they never charged. Needless to say we won’t be returning

Dined in the restaurant the night after getting married at the adjacent Harbour Hotel. Such a friendly, attentive and helpful staff who made our dining experience extra special. Booked two months in advance and requested a nice table with a view overlooking Mudeford Quay and we got exactly what we asked. Thank you and we will be back 😀👍

We visited for our wedding anniversary and we were not disappointed! I love the Jetty because of its seafood and my husband indulges me even though it's not his cup of tea. He had the soufflé to start with and enjoyed it just as much as the last time... My food was absolutely delicious. I had the catch of the day... And everything tasted so good.. Even the steak my husband had was cooked to perfection and we made space for the lovely dessert that followed. Meanwhile, the service was attentive but not intrusive, and friendly. Daniel was particularly good with us and we left planning our next visit. Thank you for a lovely evening.

A fantastic lunch celebrating our wedding anniversary. Lovely table for 4 overlooking the harbour. Delicious cheese soufflé yo start, followed by 4 different fish dishes all super tasty - the chocolates were a lovely touch too. This was our first visit to The Jetty and definitely will not be the last! A fantastic dining experience - great food, excellent service all round but our waitress Amelia deserves a specific mention. Not to mention a delightful waterside location. Can't recommend it enough.

Lovely plate of choccies & sweeties for my birthday, but the scoop of vanilla ice cream topped it. Lovely engaging staff. Good lunch with their terrific souffle to start. We just learned to share starts & sweet. Quite enough, thank you.

Once again, great service and excellent food. Served by Andre and his colleagues , The restaurant was full but the staff are up together and so is the kitchen.

Stayed in the Habour hotel and had one meal here which was fabulous. Setting was gorgeous too. Went with two children who ate very well off the kids menu and a la carte menu. Super

First time going to this wonderful venue, and it definitely was worth the drive! I visited with two of my forever friends - we were all celebrating March Birthdays within days of each other, and it was one of my friends 'Special Birthday' so what a perfect choice! We had a lovely view and Daniel (and the entire Team) were really lovely and attentive throughout our visit. The food was to die for - hats off to the incredible chefs - and to our utter surprise, the three of us were given a wonderful Birthday treat! Thank you so much for the thoughtful and very generous touch! We will most definitely visit again. . . Such a lovely place!

We had a fantastic meal as usual at The Jetty, excellent food and excellent service, our waitress Amelia was very polite, very helpful and friendly and good fun.

Delicious food with a very attentive waitress called Amelia who was friendly and helpful, also with a knowledgeable wine waiter who knew is wines and after lunch liqueurs (grappa) . Due to our wedding anniversary celebration, they did a lovely chocolate piped message with some little treats on the side. The edge of the harbour is only 10 feet from your table so some very nice views of Christchurch Harbour and Hengistbury Head. I would highly recommend a visit to this restaurant. A passing note, the toilets were well stocked including lovely smelling hand soap and hand lotion, also very clean and smelling of roses.

This was such a disappointment. A 70th birthday so very special occasion. We had heard such good reviews and we had tried it before we booked so we were deeply upset by the whole experience. The food was not good. My halibut was small, dry and overcooked. I know I could have cooked it better. I had three tiny pieces of potato, two stems of broccoli and nonexistent jerusalem artichoke puree. I had asked for the sauce to be served separately and this arrived when I had finished. It was horrible. The scallops were overcooked in a starter and everything was just average. I will never eat there again. It was an expensive mistake booking there and for a restaurant of its supposed standing I cannot believe how poor it was. Just to top it off the owner parked his posh car right across two disabled parking bays. How arrogant and selfish especially as I had to park at the front of the hotel with my blue badge.

The setting is nice and the service was warm & friendly. Unfortunately though that’s where it ends. The food was really average and served in a hurry. We went for our anniversary with the expectation of a nice relaxed evening. Having arrived at 8:30 our...

Booked anniversary dinner via the hotel but turned up to no reservation. Thankfully, we're not in tourist season so they found us a table easily. The views are as stunning as Shell Bay. The cocktails are on point, food delicious and our server Andre looked after us so well. The dessert was to die for! Thanks to all the team for creating a special evening!

Lovely birthday meal for my husband. Food excellent, Anna did a fantastic looking after us. Great atmosphere and lovely looking out towards Hengistbury Head. Will definitely book again.

Arrived on Easter Monday with my family for a birthday treat, so looking forward to this I had heard so many good comments on here. But soon ended up disappointed as we were stood by the bar waiting to be seated not to be acknowledged, we were finally acknowledged after what seemed like 15 minutes but realistically it was probably 10 minutes, we were taken to our table which was lovely, it was very loud in there as some big groups which was nice to see a restaurant busy, but you couldn't hear what people were saying at the table, we were told there was only 4 oysters left, nobody came back to take drinks for 20 minutes in the end I went up and asked if we could reserve the 4 oysters that were left and asked if we could order drinks, the waiter followed me to the table and proceeded with the drink order only for us to chase where are drinks were 20 minutes later, not a great start, we finally ordered starters and mains for them to come up minus 1 starter, so had to find out what happened, so 1 of our party had to eat starters on there own, which was not great, thought oh well mains should be good, I had already informed them I had a cheese allergy, and had ordered steak, which comes with a salad then added chips, all meals came out, 2 hours later from being seated they looked superb, my steak was lovely, then I noticed on the salad there was cheese, again had to find a member of staff as there was no check backs at all, explained they then proceeded to cook another steak, ( which I received once the party had all eaten)which again was cooked to perfection and when I finished they brought me out the chips to go with it, for a restaurant which implies they are 5 star today was very poor. When you have prawns to start no fingers bowls, no check backs on meals, have to get up to find staff to get a drink, this was no way 5 star service.left very disappointed. After the mistakes with starters and mains the whole party decided not to have desserts. And unfortunately ruined my birthday which should of been an excellent day. We went to the upper deck for drinks 30 minutes before our meal and they could not do enough for us, so as you can imagine with the Jetty having a better rating I was expecting more from them. I can not agree with The Jetty having a better rating as the upper deck were far more attentive and customer based.

We had a fantastic taster menu all courses were an absolute delight. Service was spot on too and wonderful views over the harbour.

went for lunch on Easter Saturday ,our Golden Wedding anniversary. Food beautifully cooked and presented. Service by Daniel was perfect, credit to restaurant. Setting perfect. The only drawback which was no fault of the staff was being seated next to a group of people who felt the need to shout so loudly at each other we could not hear each other at all, their self-entitled opinions and derogatory comments spoke volumes. Marred an otherwise special time and memory.

Lovely Easter Sunday lunch, fantastic setting and high quality food. We were made to feel very welcome by our waiter Daniel who looked after us very well.

The sole with salmon mousse and caviar was the best thing I have eaten in a long, long, LONG time!! Absolutely brilliant, delicious experience from start to finish. Highly recommended!!

A wonderful evening at The Jetty. We all enjoyed starters and main course. The fish was delicious, washed down with a couple of bottles of Albarino. Everything was perfect, including, Daniel, our server.
