I’ve been here a couple of times now as I live locally and want to support local businesses. However, it needs to find an identity. Is it a sports pub, there are 3 huge TV screens which dominate a lot of the space. Is it an Indian restaurant, £10 for a small bowl of dal and £4.50 for 1 paratha is quite a lot of money for a ‘pub’, all be it very good food, I prefer to spend that money in a restaurant where a group of people aren’t shouting at the referee on the TV. The staff were very nice, but need some more training, is it table service when you have to go to the bar to order more drinks ?! The decor is nice but the toilets definitely need a re vamp. I think it is trying to be too many things ! We will re visit but just for drinks.

On behalf of St Mary’s WFC we would like to say how happy we were with the experience at the Waldegrave arms this past week. We were in contact with staff about hosting our end of season awards night and the responses were quick and accommodating. The atmosphere was buzzing, and all the girls enjoyed their drinks and hope to return for food next time! We hope to be able to collaborate with the Waldegrave Arms in the near future.

Booked table for 8 of us. Only 3 menus available. Took 49 mins to order starters which arrived but only 4 plates so had to eat of napkins. Beer was okay but white wine very warm and only 1 red available. Mains came eventually but some had to wait 10 extra minutes then rice and naan arrived after mi e was stone cold. Huge chicken bone as well so dangerous. They are trying hard but not geared up to cater for a sports bar, restaurant and cocktails. Manager was very poor and often 7 staff milling about but service was atrocious. Waitresses were trying their best. Food that most of us ate was well cooked and tasty but did not cater well for us. Give it a go but NOT on a busy day

Booked to eat after rugby for 8. No menus, no plates, starters arrived 20 mins apart, ate off napkins. Mains were cold or had bones in. Rice came after we had started. White wine warm. Busy but they must improve to get people back in. Gave us free Prosecco then charged us. Two lovely waitresses who did best but manager and owner were very poor. Try and make up your mind but we won’t be back in a hurry.

I rarely write restuarant reviews - but this is catehorically THE ABSOLUTE WORST SERVICE EVER. Sat down at 6.30 - after much "discussion" with "managers" of "could care less" attitude, food finally arrived at 9.30. I feel for the chefs - as the little food we had, was really good - BUT - their front of house is TRULY AWFUL. Waiting staff with no idea how to serve - we had to request plates ............. and then to clear them. STEER CLEAR is your value your blood pressure!

It’s a real shame as this place could be great- the decor and food was lovely but the experience was pretty awful. No plates to eat our food off- we had to ask for them whilst the food got cold, then they brought plates out for half of us, they put the mains down and couldn’t tell us what they were so we didn’t know whose was whose. Rice arrived 15 mins after the main course. We weren’t given menus when we asked to order- we had to go round then restaurant to find some. Wine was warm. When we tried to raise our concerns fairly to just ask for plates the manager was really rude. They blamed the slow service on it being a Saturday but only one other table was eating food and the issues we had were easily fixable but it felt like they didn’t want to. I really hope they improve their service and train their staff and thrive.

The worst cocktail I've ever had! For a place that advertises being a cocktail bar, they don't seem to know how to make them. I tried two different ones, both terrible and missing basic ingredients. They also charged £20 for the two. Other local bars have better drinks and lower prices. Will try again if they hire better staff, as the location and building are nice, but currently, I would rate their cocktails undrinkable.

How can you be famous for cocktails?? really poor communication and not professional. did not understand a word i asked, just gave me random answers which related nothing to the question. The new place has a nice vibe good beers, the food however is way overpriced. I had 5 x half wings (image below) for £9.50. The wings were nice well seasoned and cooked well so hats to the chef, but that is ridiculously high at nearly 2.5 wings total realistically, and around £2 a half wing in a pub. A pack of wings is £2-3, this is extremely marked up. Appreciate you have to make profit margins and costs our high but if bars in similar locations can do a similar product for half that or double that portion, it does not have validity to a cheap cut of meat.

The food is good, the company is fine and the building is one of those solid, sturdy structures that seems to have stood there forever. What's not to like about this amiable local pub in Teddington, midway down Waldegrave Road. I first came here about 30 years ago, and though it's been spruced up since then (it used to be a very dingy, dark pub), it has retained its character - something appreciated by the regulars. A few licks of paint, a better menu, and The Waldegrave Arms marches on.

This place is owned and rebuilt by a builder and it shows in the service and the quality of food and drinks. So my preferred drink is wine and here it is very very overpriced for the quality. I get much better wine at the same price at places even in Chelsea that it makes you feel ripped off here where mainly it is cheap and unpalatable. My neighbour and I have tried to like let alone love this place so many times and we thought if we could have a word with the owner to feedback about his wine he might consider it. BUT OH NO! When we tried to offer our opinion, it was a response of "what do you want, there's a Merlot, a Malbec, what more do you want?" in a tone of "what's your problem mate!" ..... Says it all really....! Staff are often students more interested in chatting to their mates than serving. Customers are mostly students, not a problem per se but then they're less fussy about quality of service and wine I guess.. There is no heart in the place, the owner doesn't love or care about the customers, it's a numbers game to him. The last encounter with the owner has finally ended our attempt to love "our local" I'm no longer prepared to pay for undrinkable wine that tastes like it costs less than £3 a bottle. The selling price of the wine is not the issue, it's the quality that I get for it that is the problem. I had Sunday lunch here once a long while ago. Nothing to get excited about. On passing the kitchen one of the cooked joints was out on the table, uncovered, it made me think they slice and warm it to order probably microwave. Maybe this is how it's done in pubs but it doesn't inspire the ideals of culinary excellence. The place is nicely decorated, but that's about the only good point. Go elsewhere, there are plenty of places in the area that offer much better service and food, only sadly my favourite The Crown in St Margaret's is not walking distance.

This has been my local for nearly 5years I attend the pub at least once a week it's close to my place of work and not far from my home. The food and drink is served to a high standard I often go to the waldy for dinner after work. The interior is very classy and I love the fairy lights, fresh flowers and candles in old alcohol bottles theme. However, tonight we popped in for a drink (a few work colleagues and myself) I was very disappointed by the service. A member of staff young girl I believe her name was Roberta or Rosanna very inattentive. We had to wait at least 10minutes at the bar with no queue, to be served, we ordered nachos, fries and wine. The service just wasn't as usual, all staff are usually local people who know the visitors very polite and chat away to all the customers. This young lady was rude and everything felt like an effort and the customer was a hindrance to her. The nachos arrive and she said 'oh yeah forgot to say we have no guacamole' she had an argument with the chef about her wanting a cigarette break and who should clear our table....this included several exploitive and offensive words. Nothing I have ever experienced in the waldy before. Three customers went to the bar and she said she would be a few minutes...she was lighting candles, clearly not a priority over a customers needs. Following this we went to the bar for more wine, she was no where to be seen. After a 5minute wait or so we decided to call it a night as we didn't want to have to wait any longer on such a quiet night especially and we were only there for a few drinks and food after work. Overall a lovely pub...I hope this member of staff ups her game as she is letting such a beautiful venue down with her poor attitude and work ethic.

If you're thinking of the lumpy glop that passes for broccoli/cheese soup, don't. This soup has the consistency of a hearty broth, with the rich flavour of the Stilton in every spoonful, but not clogging the arteries along with the mix. The broccoli appears to have been finely chopped in a food processor or puréed, because it adds body to the soup, but all that is visible are the tiny buds at the end of each floret. Nary a stem in site. Delicious, especially on those unexpectedly rainy or windy nights. But the Sticky Toffee Pudding? Oh no. I want one now! The cake part itself is high and soft and moist. Popped in on way back from a trip to strawberry hill house. Server was polite and happy - was interested in how I wanted my Bloody Mary (a rarity these days in other places) ordered a couple of club sandwiches which were well put together, seasoned and seemed like good quality produce. Will definitely pop back for lunch again

Ended up having Sunday roast here and was very impressed! The pub has a nice vibe, not busy or loud and quite a local feel to it. The service was great and the food really impressed. We had the chicken and lamb roasts and both came with four veg that were amazing on their own. The Yorkshire puddings and kale are so yum! Definitely recommend.

After a tough morning of academic commitments, I wondered over to the waldegrave arms to quench my thirst and for a bite to each. I was approached by a girl in Orange who was extremely polite and welcoming. She had extensive knowledge of the menu and helped me decide which sandwich was best suits for my taste. I received the sandwich with a great gleaming smile. I believe the chef is called little tom so compliments to him for the delightful dish. I opted for the fish finger sandwich which was at least 80% fish 20% bread which I think was a generous helping!!! Also compliments to Duncan the new manager, both members of staff were delightful and made me feel right at home. I will be returning to this establishment for the foreseeable future, great atmosphere and fabulous location.

I visited on a Wednesday evening, having booked beforehand as I was using a Tastecard and it's always advisable. I had also emailed in advance to check Tastecard criteria. I had a prompt and helpful reply. We were running late for our booking, but this was not a problem for them on the night. We had a lovely table in the front by a window. It was fairly quiet the night we visited, but still a good atmosphere. The food was really good: I had the calamari and my friend had the soup to start - both lovely. We then had the steak which was fab! Really tender and tasty. Couldn't really fit a pudding in and they had only one choice left by the time we would have wanted one. Didn't spoil the evening though. The two girls who served us were friendly, polite and helpful. There was no question of rushing us which is always a plus. I would definitely recommend this pub for food -especially good value when using the Tastecard!

Reserved a table for 6 as we were having a family get together. Mum lives just up the road from this pub and her neighbours had said that the Sunday lunch was lovely. Sadly the weekly menu did not live up to our expectations! After a very long wait (it was not busy, 2 other couples) our food arrived, well 5 of them did...I waited another 10 mins for mine. One of the fish (last 2) was awful. Steak tough, mushrooms inedible like cardboard. My roasted pepper burger looked nothing like a burger more like mush in a roll....roll was naff too. Cheese, ale pot...Mmmm...maybe won't say what that looked like! Chips were horrible, like putting a lump of fat in your mouth. Oh but my husband's mussels were very nice! The barman was a pleasant guy. It would have been difficult to say something at the time as I didn't want to upset my mother. I would have thought that the chef seeing so much food go back to the kitchen would have offered some sort of an apology but none came. I assume he was having a very bad day!!

Have been to eat and drink here several times and it is becoming our work local too. The food is very good value and tasty too. Last time I had a roast beef sandwich and it was lovely tender meat, tasty horseradish, good salad and chips, for £4! The staff are friendly and helpful and although the interior is modern is has an increasingly cosy feel.

Used to visit this pub 40years ago. Now completely rebuilt . Small and compact. Smallish menu for Sunday lunch. Was offered the rib off beef as the "special". Not disappointed. Very tender, slow cooked and on the bone. Came with a variety of vegetables. Good service. Would recommend

Popped by yesterday as new to the area and this is my closest pub. Friendly reception from the at staff and whilst fairly standard fare on the menu with a slight American theme, the food was really quite good. It's a big bonus that they use the butcher across the road for their meat. Recommended
