Awesome place and the food portions were huge!

Lovely pub, large inside with a huge garden too. The food was delicious. I had a chicken and leek pie, which was top-notch.

Had an excellent pie here, a cut above usual pub food. I definitely want to go back.

Superb dinner. Had a late shift and couldn’t face cooking at home. Decided to try out the food and was left with a very full tummy and fat smile on my face! Husband’s steak was medium rare to perfection, my burger had everything I could have wanted and more! I chose to add bacon AND an egg to my burger, brilliant choice. Recommend it to everyone! The Guinness is well kept and delicious, my Estrella is yummy. Definitely recommend to all. Josey and Jackson made our evening even more enjoyable. Thank you for a fab night guys.

It is a great place but I was disappointed by the experience. It was my turn to be served but one of the male bartenders kept going away to serve other customers who were miles away. He is the tallest among the staff. One lovely lady noticed his action and came over and rescued me. I appreciate her service. This is my second visit and I observed her super service on my first visit too. Thank you! On my first visit, I noticed some acts of immaturity from another male staff too. Trust me I am not paranoid, but he mockingly danced behind me to impress a group of girls while I was leaving the pub. My impression from today is that this gentleman is a team leader or a manager. I can only assure you that I am human and look human.

The only reason I gave this a 3* and not a 5* is because I booked table for 6 online. Got a confirmation and when we got there the table had not been reserved and the pub was full 😡 The managers reaction was sorry but it’s rugby day. Well then why was I allowed to book online? We found a table for 4 which left two of us standing until people vacated a table and we could move. The staff serving us were 5*

Great staff, and the vegan Wellington was a nice alternative, bit lacking in the variety and size of sides included with the roast, I think I would have left hungry had it not been for the Yorkshire pudding.

As always, a friendly, buzzing venue with fabulous staff and comfortable seating. Great ambience, and cosy with an open fire. The only downside that prevented giving 5 stars is the music was too loud and not best suited to the age of the majority of customers (40+) It was more like club style house music. We were there on a Friday night so maybe it’s quieter during the week? Perhaps they could turn it down a notch and go for something slightly more age appropriate for the clientele? Other than that, I love it there.

Service is always great and it has the best beer garden in SW London. Garden has a nice canopy and outdoor booths so it works even if the weather isn't great.

We managed to get a table on Xmas eve for Lunch/Dinner it was unsurprisingly busy but we were sat and served, There was a Christmas menu and usual bar menu. It was busy and that probably affected service food was ok, not fabulous. A good place for a drink with fabulous outside space in warmer weather, but I think the food offering needs to be improved upon.

I won a competition on Instagram and claimed my three course dinner last night. It was amazing from the start until the end! Staff members were all cheerful, smiley, friendly, attentive...they made the experience perfect. And the food!!! Definitely coming back for the lentil and chestnut soup, out of this world! Three amazing courses, beautiful glass of wine with the best ambiance...thank you Hare & Hounds for an amazing night! See you soon!

We held our cycling clubs christmas brunch at the hare and hound pun gardens. The refurb is absolutely beautiful and the heaters, blankets and covers make it a dream throughout winter too. As always the staff and service was second to none and the food always delivers for us all. 10/10 for everything and the best pub in the borough by far!

We used the 'snug' bar for an early evening farewell drinks party for a neighbour who's moving out of London. The bar was perfect for the event and the staff were super helpful. We had pre-ordered platters of sandwiches and they were Amazing! Delicious, door stop sized and freshly made, we were convinced we'd over ordered but they all went! We could not have been happier with the evening.

Great food and very friendly staff. But, dog friendly only if your dog doesn’t bark more than twice! We had to pay and leave earlier because people complained.

Really great food! Just moved into the area and popped in for a much needed dinner on a Wednesday night which was pie and pud night. Had the steak and Guinness pie which was so so good, rich homemade and the mash and cabbage super fresh. Great wine selection too. Definitely going to be a new regular.

Well I don’t really know what to say. The hare and hounds in East Sheen has always been close to my heart, but since they had their beautiful make over I really struggle to find equally great pubs in the Richmond area. We were there last Sunday with my German family and the roast…. The ROAST… yeh go and see yourself! Oh and the sticky toffee pud!! Delightful! Absolutely stunning! The staff is just the nicest, loveliest and best! Elena and all the others are just wonderful ! Thank you for making every stay to memorable!!

Well-cooked Sunday roast (vegetables particularly well done). A delay on the cauliflower cheese but other than that the service was excellent, quick, and friendly, even though the pub was exceptionally busy. Great with dogs water bowls and treats.

My partner and I came with two Labradors for lunch on Saturday. Lovely pub, excellent team who were very good at their jobs and a really lovely lunch. The starters and the burger was one of the best I’ve had in a very long time. If u was closer I’d definitely visit more

We booked the Snug bar area for a gathering after a family funeral. Staff were extremely helpful throughout the booking process. The venue itself was lovely; warm, candlelit and cosy. Staff were really friendly and respectful of the event. Self-serve tea & coffee station was a great idea. Sandwiches were delicious and great value and we enjoyed a wide selection of drinks. Could not have wished for a better venue. Thank you "Hare& Hounds"!

Updated 5 Nov 2023. Wow, this pub has turned itself around. Went with a friend for Sunday lunch today. It exceeded all expectations, huge plate of food, horseradish to knock your socks off. Service impeccable. All staff very knowledgeable, helpful and cheerful. Prices more than reasonable . Again thank you to everyone . Go , enjoy.

We came for Sunday lunch and drinks and we were not disappointed! I love the Bloody Mary station, what a gorgeous touch- being able to spice my Bloody Mary up as much as I want and a what an array of garnishes . We shared the baked Camembert and the roast trio of pork, beef and chicken, loads of gravy, all the trimmings including cauliflower cheese and creamed leeks (these are my fave). The service was great from the moment we walked through the door and were greeted by the bar staff to the waitresses taking orders throughout our meal. 10/10

My friend and I came for Sunday lunch and was very disappointed. The Chicken was tough and so were the roast potatoes. Yorkshire pudding was tough & rubbery. The only decent thing was the cocktail we had of Espresso Martini and the service.

Brilliant atmosphere. All the staff are amazing but Rosie needs a special mention as she is so friendly and extremely helpful.

Favourite pub, often come here with family and friends. Their food, drinks are fantastic. The staff are also very welcoming and professional. Yesterday we had our wedding reception in a private room and my friends loved it, we ordered the buffet and my favourite was their fried chicken and chips, the salads and sandwiches were amazing too! We had the absolute pleasure of having our wedding reception here in their private room off to the side. I have always loved the hare, but even more now. They accommodated us with everything we needed, allowed my family to enter before we arrived and set up everything they needed. Service was amazing, staff lovely, atmosphere amazing. They went above and beyond for us and I think that goes to show it's an amazing venue. we had two sandwich boards, salad boards and their party buffet and the food was delicious. I loved the chicken and bacon the best. A special shout out to Will, Amber, Rosie, phoebe and Eleanor for being amazing and doing the best they could to ensure our day was the best. Thank you to the hare and hounds and their wonderful team for making a wonderful day, even greater than it already was.

Such a great local pub. Kiddie friendly but also a great place to go for drinks with friends and family. I haven’t found anything on their recent menu change that I haven’t liked! The staff couldn’t be more friendly and accommodating - we were particularly impressed by the service and friendliness given to us and our children by Phoebe, Rosie and Amber. Thank you all!

So now several months after the refresh the pub is still going strong. Great atmosphere and fab place to watch the rugby World Cup. New menus out today look even better than the old ones and they were good. Staff are still really great Amber, Rosie, Eleanor Joni Drew and Will are a great fun team with of course the fab Phoebe and the whole front of house crew. Just such a great place to relax and unwind and meet friends.

The staff at Hare & Hounds are so great. Since the back garden has been renovated and new team in place the staff are very friendly helpful and nothing is too much trouble. Makes us locals feel at home!

Lovely big garden at the back. Live jazz was lovely but a bit loud for a Sunday afternoon especially if you're in the front few rows of tables. Food was good, although for a lighter option the chicken Caesar salad was quite pricey and really disappointing to come across a few Baby Gem cores that'd been left in - the wrong lettuce and just lazy. Shame because everything else was great!

This is a great destination pub. Huge and well kept garden at the back and a great menu that will satisfy everyone in any group. Nice Georgian/early Victorian vibe in the original building that leads out into the garden. Good ales, lagers, wines and spirits. We deliberately picked here as we have 4 kids under 5 and it states ‘family friendly’ on the website. Anything but. The four kids meals came 15 minutes after all the adult food (6 meals which also took 30 mins and wasn’t busy) this was a nightmare to manage; we appreciate the different kitchens send different menus at different times (not ideal but can understand) but surely some common sense with kids food, especially when they ordered all the same. When kids had finished they started to run around a bit - as 1-4 year olds do. There were 2 other family groups and 2 couples - so not busy and we were watching them whilst (as parents know) we actually managed to have a conversation! We were immediately told that the kids had to stay at the table. The 1 year old was crawling by our table and we were then told he shouldn’t as there could be glass, which we would expect in a pub and were fully aware of. This was told to us curtly and with no empathy or apology. The kids had to then sit and watch our phones while we finished, Completely undermining our reason for family pub and garden. To top off our unwelcoming visit!! One of our children lost our tab key. Fully appreciate complete inconvenience but we were spoken to rudely and the supervisor just dismissed us and didn’t return. We were then told we couldn’t have our bank card back!! We were left for 20 minutes not knowing what was happening. Never felt so unwelcome anywhere. Not sure what the pub’s definition of ‘family friendly’ is but clearly website created by people without kids. Wouldn’t recommend or return. Ruined family occasion and annual catch-up. Don’t advertise something you are not.

Excellent walk-in venue for a relaxed garden lunch on a fine summer's day. The place is well designed and the menu imaginative. The staff are a pleasure to do business with. We had the Butcher's Board sharer for two and it was delicious, as was the Young's beer!

Beautiful pub interior decor with lots of comfy nooks, sofas or dining tables to choose from. We chose to sit outside in the immense garden. Again lots of choice of types of tables. A great space. Main kitchen or garden kitchen menus. We had a superb and plentiful Sunday roast which was delicious. The table service and staff were excellent. Very friendly atmosphere which you don’t usually get in huge pubs. Highly recommended.

This is my local and every time I go it’s a fantastic experience with great friendly staff, fantastic atmosphere and lovely food. Work pressure is keeping me away from visiting more than twice a week at the moment but frankly this is a beautiful local I would love to visit every evening 😊 Something I am planning to do with less work hopefully.

Due to inclement weather, I had my 70th birthday celebration in the snug area which the manager had prearranged should this happen - I was very happy with the service and the buffet food was delicious. Thank you so much!!

Lovely food. Reasonably expensive but was worth it. The staff were polite and the service was quick too you can get table service in the garden which was nice. The garden itself is huge and really pretty. Very nice place to spend a Sunday afternoon will definitely be back.

We were served the worst brunch we've ever had, anywhere. We were literally the only ones in the pub and the waitperson still managed to get our order wrong. When the right order finally arrived, it was cold, tasteless, barely edible, accompanied by metallic-tasting tea. At least they were friendly and the garden was nice.

Brilliant place! Firstly, the service. Absolutely top notch, professional and fun. The layout. I wanted to sit everywhere. And I wanted to come back at night to see the lights and have fun with friends. (I will, next year when I am back in the UK!!). The food was exactly as I expected for a pub. Actually, it was better. It was quite delicious and the vegetable variety and mix is great. No, I'm far from vegan or vegetarian. But I love my fresh veges. We sat in one of the booths and ate lunch and had a couple of pints. In not so short, I loved it.

I had reserved seating for 25, I was surprised the tables don’t get set, we had no information about ordering after 20 minutes I asked at the bar what was happening, then we got some menus, it was very confusing and no one seemed to know what was going on! The roast dinner was disappointing potatoes were hard and the parsnip , the childrens meals were so dry and weren’t eaten for the price it was bad ! £30 was added to the bill for service I think this is bad we should be asked! Has definitely gone down hill since we were last there.

I went to the newly refurbished Hare and Hounds for a birthday meal with family and friends ( 5 of us altogether) I had pre-booked a garden Hut, which was adorned with cushions, dried flowers and a heater which the customer can turn on if needed. The waiters were very attentive and the food was excellent. My fish and chips were about the best I've ever had. Variety of prices, with both an outside and indoor kitchen so 2 menus to choose from. Would thoroughly recommend.

Popped in for snacks and Spritz / beer. Had booked and just as well was pretty full. Nicely landscaped garden but retaining old world charm indoors. Food was good West Country corned beef, Mackrell pate, pork belly straps and the starched baby gem. All very good. Table service for beers and spritz £74 not too bad. Service was slightly slow so order a drink when you're getting to last 1/3 - 1/4.

AMAZING PUB & GARDEN!!! I had my 30th birthday gathering at the Hare & Hounds pub garden this weekend just gone. I can't fault the service myself and all my family and friends received. The food was absolutely incredible and the staff were brilliant! Special mention to Rosie who was manning the outside bar all day for us and also the chefs on shift that day. Everyone who was at the party is still talking about the food now! Tim and Lisa are so accommodating and I would book here again for any celebration in the future! Thanks again guys! Loved it :)

This is one of the best pubs I have been too! Food was lovely, loads of variety,cooked with love and caters to all ! Meat and Veggie lovers must not walk but RUN to the Hare and Hounds! The Garden is amazing! Feels like home, would recommend on those warm sunny night, or to cosy up in the long winter nights. service was 10/10 :)

Had a really lovely evening on Sunday in this beautiful pub garden listening to a live band! The food was great, staff super friendly and drinks chilled! I finally got to meet the lovely co-owner Lisa, who is a real gem with a warm welcome for everyone. This is a great pub for hosting an event, Sunday lunch with the family or to have drinks friends. I attended a birthday party in the newly renovated garden and it was really fantastic! Food, atmosphere and service was great!

Had a lovely time visiting the hare and hounds for a friends birthday. Such a great pub to visit in Richmond. They have an amazing beer garden out the back - you can sit both in the sun and also under cover. The food and drink selections were great! Also cannot fault any of the staff, it was quite busy when we were there but all the staff were so friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Great customer service - we travelled here from Wales and were really impressed we will definitely visit again next time we’re in the area.

We reserved a garden hut which was comfortable and had a roof in case it rained. I was surprised to see a notice on entry that children had to remain seated. We chose the large garden thinking that our 4 year old grandson would be able to run around a bit. The garden is very large but completely filled with tables and it's a shame there isn't a play area to make it more family friendly. The food was average, the menu heavy on burgers. Good bavette steaks, but my fish although good came without the potatoes and I had to ask for them and they took a while to come. The main problem was the bill. I was surprised to have had to pay a compulsory £40 deposit and expected it to be deducted from the bill. It was not deducted as it had to be refunded separately which was an unusual system, and because the Wifi was down it couldn't be done. It was refunded later that day but the process seemed unnecessary and caused delay whilst the problem was explained. Service apart from the payment was good and friendly.

Fantastic oasis and huge beer garden - a hidden gem!

Tonight (29.6.23) i had the worse experience in my entire life. I used to come to Hare & Hounds often but not anymore after today’s experience. On arrival, the staff told me that we are not allowed to stay after 20:00 with children under 18 years old, I said it is strange because I came here before and stayed with my son until after 20:00 to have dinner. 5 minutes past 20:00 a family of four arrived and ordered a food. I approach a waiter and asked if I was allowed to place an order, he said he would speak to his manager and few minutes after he did bring the menu and said it was ok, I was ordering food, another waiter came and asked me to leave because of the new rules. I was with a few friends and it was really embarrassing. I raised the issue about the family having dinner, if they would ask them to leave straight way, I was told no. I am taking this as discrimination towards me and my son. I asked for the GM number to call him and raise it, I left a voice message as his phone was busy, he called me back and left a voice message which was very unprofessional. So, at Hare & Hounds “East Sheen”, I do not advise any family to go anymore even because of the discrimination they have towards certain families.

We had the most wonderful afternoon at the Hare and Hounds celebrating Fathers Day. Having not been before we booked one of the newly built dining huts in the beautifully renovated garden, which was private but cosy and welcoming and made our meal even more special. The food was outstanding, the servers were polite and attentive and the whole experience was relaxed and enjoyable. We could not recommend more highly and will be back very soon! Paid £17 for a slightly small burger that had a solid hard bottom bun and didn't taste worth the price. Disappointing. Decent service at least

I went in specially to book one of the huts for Sunday lunch, was told I got the last one, Red and Fallow and had email confirmation that it was booked from 1.30-4.30pm on 11th June. When we got there another persons name was on the table booked from 3pm. I was advised that we had been moved to a table in the garden with an umbrella. Drinks were very slow to come, and one lady joined us after we arrived. Her diet coke took 45 minutes to arrive, after we had chased the staff in the garden 3 times. The chicken burger came with no extras, i.e. salad or chips. The beef burger patty with cheed again had very little garnish and the lady who ordered it said it wasn't very good, whereas previously the burgers were excellent. Your garden bar was not manned which may have helped with the drinks delays. I ordered pork belly which was a large portion and a good meal. We will all think twice about going to Hare and Hounds, because although the setting is lovely after your refurbishment, specially the garden, our experience was poor.

Amazing visit to this newly refurbished pub. So many beautiful areas to enjoy - we were spoilt for choice on where to sit. The new huts looked perfect for larger groups with lovely details such as a ‘living roof’, plug sockets and heaters. There was a large event whilst we were there at the far end of the garden but did not detract from the service we received from a charming and knowledgeable team. We ordered a selection of ‘small bites’ which were generously portioned, well presented and very tasty. I don’t think I could have asked for a more perfect experience- well done team, we will be back!!

We had a great time sitting in the garden for a family lunch. The menu is good and has lots to choose from. Although it was a shame there was no Eton mess (at a Saturday lunch). Service could be better - maybe each sever have a zone as it was difficult to get attention. Staff are very friendly when they are available. Looking forward to returning soon.
