Still a proper old school pub not many left great friendly staff great atmosphere 👍

Food o.k, drinks fairly priced...decent all round. Budweiser on draught...bonus!

Was getting served a pint of carling when i seen bar lass dipping her finger in mi drink. I said why do that, she said to see if its cold, i said stick di finger up mi bum tell me if im too warm. Anyway good pint and top bar staff happy days all round.

Not impressed tbh, went a few weeks ago ordered a sharing dish which included chips and cheese. There was a huge clump of hair in it not just a strand a big lump of black/brown hair! Told the person behind the bar who did apologise which was fair enough and she did offer to get another. Then another young women came to serve it and slammed it hard on the table and said nothing she didn't even offer a discount like many other places would. I wasn't bothered about the refund in such or a discount, tbh all the food and drinks are fair priced, but it's just the principle that a good establishment would offer this under these circumstances without hesitation.There was literally barely any cheese with the chips so I asked if I could have abit more, she took it to ask someone else and they said no that's how much you get. Considering I'd just found a big lump of hair in my meal and had another brought to me and slammed on the table, I found it disgusting they couldn't even give me a little more cheese. I had showed them, there was no more than a tea spoon on literally!!! Hence why I'm now leaving this review the service... not the unwanted clump of hair in such as I'm aware mistakes happen and if I had been tret with respect I wouldn't be leaving this review. Tbh I wish I took a picture to show both the clump of hair and the tiny amount of cheese on the chips, they may aswell have not put any cheese on at all. I eventually asked for a refund because I was annoyed by this point at the service and rudeness. I did get a refund on asking.... well it turned out it wasn't even the full refund when I checked, but it was never offered, I had to ask... not a good service at all especially when the lady came and slammed it down on the table and said nothing, very rude. Shame because other than that the food eaten prior was quite nice but the service wasn't up to much.

Ordered the sirloin steak medium to well done. It was almost raw. I did tell the waitress & she said I can take it back to cook some more! Err no thanks, we hadn't got time to wait anyway, should have been cooked to how I asked I'm the first place.

This is a Wetherspoons pub ....And gets the thumbs up. For the price of drinks and. The they serve. The other week went some where new. And it was a carvery. Which was a right.let down. Plus lot more money to pay for a drink. But this one in chaperone is great. . And their is a weather spoons in hilsbourgh. Sheffield Wednesday ground area. Which is very good as well. And we do have another good one in Sheffield next to city hall where they have top turns. .moor head Sheffield. .Stew. .xxx

Never had a problem with service or food.

Just another typical wetherspoons. Beer was good and so was the food.

Came out for an evening drink but spoilt by people Vaping inside the premises, looked on wetherspoons web site and it says no vaping allowed

One of the best Wetherspoons I have been in. There is plenty of seating and if you are on your own there is no risk of losing your table due to be able to use the app to order drinks and food. Food is excellent and there is an option to order a drink at the same as food. My only 2 negative points are that sometimes it is a bit chilly on a cold day and the fact the toilets are a distance away.

Brill place food and beer well priced and well worth the trip,been a few times now 13 miles each way but worth it,outside seating also

Nice clean pub food was ordered on app along with drinks , drinks came quickly but food abit longer but I would put this down to pub been packed with england fans for footy ,but the food was excellent would use again .

On a trip to Meadowhall, we took a short detour and headed over to Chapeltown to visit The Wagon And Horses. It’s fair to say, we’d heard mixed reviews and so we chanced our collective arms. We’re always willing to try different places on our travels and here we were again… Dating back to the eighteenth century, The Wagon And Horses is a nice looking pub that has clearly undergone many changes in its long life. We were there for breakfast, setting up our day. Two parents ordered two traditional breakfasts. Our son, pancakes and bacon, while our picking eating daughter had a bacon roll, with no butter, no sauce, more arid than a desert. After a short wait, the food arrived by a smiling server. At that time in the morning, in a Wetherspoons establishment, you’re always impressed when the staff seem pleased to be alive. Thay did that morning and it was good to see. The traditional breakfasts were ok-ish. The bacon was warm (perfectly normal in ‘Spoons) the sausage was cooked reasonably well. The baked beans had thicker skin than a Tory clinging on to their seat. Microwaved within an inch of their beany little lives, they were edible but almost crunchy. Hash browns were delicious, crispy and hot while the toast was toast, you can’t really mess it up. Though, nothing surprises you. The pancakes and bacon were, well, pancakes and bacon. I’ve no idea how anyone could eat them to be honest. Stodgy, spongy, tasteless, like James Corden in food form. Still, our lad ate them like they were nouvelle cuisine. They must have been good. A bacon roll was sacrificially torn apart in front of our very eyes. Our daughter removed every trace of fat from the meat. No evidence remained attached to the meat and the fat littered her plate like blubbery silly string after a kids party. What remained was replaced in a bun so dry it attempted to drink our coffee. She ate it, a small victory. Our visit was ok. The food was acceptable, the staff were friendly and we enjoyed the experience.

Rhiannon Clarke was very disrespectful when she gave us our food.

Absolutely brilliant service. Such a good night for young people as a starter place. Shoutout to Reece (bar staff) absolute legend and brought our drinks (that we ordered on the Wetherspoons app) very quickly and he was so friendly. Had a lovely night and shall be returning Slayyyy Xoxox

Few times we visited there's been no draught cider, or food available. But nice pub.

Great food, great with kids. The halloumi style wrap and the American breakfast are big winners. Also allows in visiting fans for football too. Update 17/03/2024- food was great as usual but the staff leave a lot to be desired. Both members of staff that I was served by clearly didn't want to be there, and I felt like being served was a chore for them.

Very busy. Food seemed a little under the normal quality we've come to expect. Service was quick all the same.

Came in in a bit of a state, sat and chatted woth a lad called reece and he was definitely one of the nicest people I've come across in quiet a while 5* for reece alone! Keep up the good work pal

Never been before but having been turned away for a premier inn breakfast thought we'd give this nearby wetherspoons a go. Food perfect, service great and lovely environment. Would definitely return. And cheaper than a premier inn breakfast to boot!

Probably cheapest bar to buy drinks at in Chapletown with a good variety of different drinks to choose from. Never eaten here so can't comment although could do with more bar staff when busy

If you like sitting at a table thats got the last 6hours worth of previous drinkers empty glasses piled on your table. If you like sitting at the most stickiest, dirtiest table top that hasnt been wiped over for days. If you like rude abrupt kids serving you drinks. Then this is the pub for you ! .... enjoy !

Friendly atmosphere, warm and cosy. The attention is great. The branch is part of a big chain with great prices and quality food and doesn't lack any of these characteristics. Great place to be with friends and family sharing food and drinks

Local to the Penistone Line and the station next door. This is a busy Wetherspoons with a forward thinking manager. A great community hub and place to eat and drink on a budget.

I went for a meal with my fiancé & his son, we all thoroughly enjoyed it.

Today the staff were not that efficient. Tablets were full of empty glasses and some had empty food plates. Not my best experience here.

CEO of whetherspoos, pls have a uniform and name badge for your staff, tapped on shoulder of a male staff thinking it's my close friend, as he was dressed in same black coloured clothes,he complained to his manager I touched him, there is a difference between fondled and tapping on shoulder. Not happy but I apologized to diffuse the situation, as I am a bigger person. Staff is mostly unhappy working, dirty tables and microwave food.

Went in and ordered drinks and staff tried to take away our ID’s to scan 3 times even though we are all 20 years old. It’s not difficult to communicate between staff when a tables ID has been scanned. It became a pisstake, someones ID does not need to be taken away from them by a random stranger more than once if it’s already been scanned. The third person who tried to take away our ID called us rude and would not listen when we told her to communicate with her colleagues, and after when one of us tried to apologise to the girl she said “I don’t really give a shit” absolutely awful customer service skills.

First class breakfast only downside was only one coffee machine downstairs my table was obscured from machine by poles so had to take valuables with me when I went for a refill & hope waitress didn't take my meal away thinking I had left

A standard Wetherspoons pub... Not great, not awful... It's spoons

Food portion control may need looking at we orded burger meals which came with chips on one plate came 15 chips on the other came 26 chips... visually looked poor, and the value for money was poor. But we can not pick fault with the taste, cleanliness or or look of the place itself. Ps this is not the first time the quantity control has been off. 4* for this visit.

Food portion size has shrunk by half even with the large price increases. We used to leave feeling well fed at a reasonable price, now there’s much better value out there for less. Only positive is the low cost of the beer.

Had a burger, was genuinely depressing, tasted and looked like something you'd get in a school canteen in the 1980s. I'd be annoyed if I'd paid £1 for it, let alone £6.

One of the better Wetherspoon pubs I've been to.

Food is good, had an excellent rump steak. The real ale is very well cared for. There is little wrong here. The only criticism is it can be buzzy at peak times.
