Really good food in a nice pub.

Everything was perfect. Great atmosphere and very friendly staff. We are definitely coming again!

Was really looking forward to a Sunday dinner and was expecting a lot more for the price. Unfortunately the Yorkshire puddings were frozen not home made,the roast potatoes and parsnips were also frozen, tiny and burnt. The roast beef was 2 slices and the mostly fat. I guess the only nice things were the pigs in blankets and mash potato which cost extra. There was no atmosphere, all round highly disappointing.

A regular visit for our family. Tonight I had a lovely pie and mash, chicken burger was also excellent and the taste I managed to pinch of the mango Eton mess was delightful. Service as usual was just right, attentive but not intrusive. Another happy visit!

We came for a valentines meal, we was served by Sophie who reserved our table for us , in a perfect place for our required need’s and Elena who is the loveliest server you could ever require , we have had the absolute perfect experience, the staff are an absolute A1 and the food and atmosphere was perfect 👌🏻I can give The Admiral Rodney an absolute 5star review all round. If you have never been it’s a must try

Lovely food, lovely atmosphere, great staff. If you can get a seat near the fire in the colder months, even better. Dog area, too, with doggy menu and free snacks for them. The latest visit was amazing as ever, friendly staff and extremely helpful with allergy advice.

Visited on a cold wet day in February for lunch hoping for a cosy meal in a good local pub. The food was excellent and service very good. Unfortunately there was little heating on and some of our party had to eat in their coats it was so cold. There was a small log burner too small for the space, and the few radiators there were hardly on. It wasn't until we paid staff apologised that they'd had a heating breakdown. Appreciate these things happen but feel more could have been done to provide some extra heating until their system was fixed. Would definitely go back but on a much warmer day!

Not been here for a long time, really enjoyed our visit. Food was really nice, excellent service by Alex & Beth, all in lovely quiet atmosphere. Will definitely return.

Meal was average. But only had one waitress deliver 10 of our meals. By the time the last meal came out the first meals out were cold.

The Rodney is one of our local pubs and the people are lovely. Great service. We had a gluten allergy in our party and Jodie and Alex made sure we were clear about what was available for GF. The medium rare steak was slightly over done but the burgers were fab!

We enjoyed our meal here, we got lamb shank and it delivered, and the sea bass which was lovely, potatoes crispy, but not quite enough sauce. The staff were lovely. Would come again.

Really friendly service and a superb monthly quiz with an excellent quiz master! Nice warm and cozy atmosphere with plenty of seating, nooks and open fires. Perfect for a cold winters evening. Choice of beer was quite limited and would have been nice to see more local beers - especially for a rural inn like this surrounded by independent breweries. Food was very tasty, but portions were a little small for the price.

*update issue resolved will definitely be back Decided to go for our evening meal. I had 20% on my loyalty card (we used to spend a lot of time there outside in the summer as its beautiful) I ordered food and asked to pay as I had the discount. Politely the young girl said pay later, you can use your voucher then. OK. Meal came, very nice, came to pay and the young lad behind the bar refused my discount, he didn't have an explanation. He didn't have a clue. To save the embarrassment on both of us I paid. Lesson to all of you don't bother with the loyalty card they don't accept them! Shame a lot of us used to like going there 🙄

Lovely Boxing Day festive meal. Dropped a star on the food as disappointed that the Yorkshire puddings had obviously been done by Chef Mic(rowave) couldn't cut into them!! And dropped a star on service as took 20 minutes to find a bottle of wine they had in stock. Couldn't fault the efforts from the staff, polite, friendly and helpful.

We visited on Christmas day for a three course meal. On arrival we were given a wonderful festive greeting. The meal was well organised, our waitress Beth was friendly and couldn't do enough for us. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming. Food was amazing, we will definitely re- book for next year. The only down side for us were the portion sizes. they were a little large for us, it would of been nice to have less and maybe have coffee and a mince pie to end the meal.

It was our first time going out for Christmas lunch and admiral Rodney didn't disappoint. Staff were all amazing considering they had given up their Christmas day for all its customers. They even gave me little girl a present from Santa which was so wonderful and very much appreciated. I would love to give cerys (I hope that is how you spell her name) a huge shout out, she was so wonderful, definitely an asset to your team deserves endless amount of praise. Went for festive menu lunch yesterday- Sophie was great, very attentive (impressive service recalling our full order from memory, including at service knowing who ordered what) and great food in a lovely warm and festive environment. Cannot recommend enough

Had 48 of us for Christmas meal. They all made us very welcome. Excellent food, service,attention to detail. We would recommend them for catering for a large party. All the staff were really accommodating, including a pig in blanket for 1 adult who noticed them on the kiddies meal.

With baked scallops and king prawns there was a tendency to have a little flavour to it but fortunately the texture was great to bite into. The honey- baked camembert was a highlight, given the sweet (but slightly not sweet enough) mixed with the crusty bread with had the right centre of softness to dig into the cheese and let it rest for a moment marinating before the bite. The smoked haddock had a soft touch to it especially with the cooked chips and allowed the flavours to envelope in its fish taste the more you chewed into it. The passion fruit cooler was sublime with an excellent sweetness and the right amount of ice to it. Service was careful and attended to and was another highlight.

Had the best homemade pie for dinner! The service was great, the festive Christmas atmosphere was perfect for a rainy night! Can’t wait to visit again

Great service, really friendly and helpful staff. The stand in waiter with Australian accent and especially the new manager Sophie was superb. Really good to see a manager leading the team like she does, she made my birthday meal special. Food was great no complaints at all will return

Last minute decision to pop in, and received excellent attention and service from Sophie and Jacob. Had vegetarian dishes of Mac n Cheese; Butternut squash burger; Aubergine gratin ... all delicious

Went in for lunch with the girls , reduced menu as the rain was affecting the kitchen which is the reason for the 3 stars. Great staff apart from one grumpy young man 🤣 Jodie who took our orders more than made up for it though , friendly , chatty and just lovely 😁

A wonderfully cosy pub that's a perfect place to eat on a chilly autumn evening. We enjoyed the curry and fish and chips, both well-cooked with generous portions. Jodi and Alex served us and did a great job, but every staff member there is polite and friendly. We will be back 😊

There is plenty of parking and in a lovely location. The pub itself is very nice with plenty of room between tables. The staff were very friendly and the service excellent. The food was nice, though a little over priced for what you get.

After going to another pub and practically being ignored by the staff we were met with a warm welcome by Emma. The food was good and the fire kept us warm on a gloomy day. We will be returning for more!

I used to really love it here, it's quiet, spacey and accommodating. However, recently the menu has changed and I find that really hard to manage since I only eat certain things. My comfort foods are no longer served so I find it hard to pick a meal I'll like. I do still really like the Admiral Rodney and the staff are lovely.

Meal was ok but it was trying to be more fancy than needed to be. The fish and chip batter tastes more like tempura and the gammon steak was covered in too much seasoning.

Lovely food, piping hot, the beef pie was delicious. We'll be going back for another visit.

It’s many years since we dined at the Admiral Rodney. What a pleasant experience it was to revisit. We lunched with our friends and the entire experience was delightful. Our welcome was warm and freindly. Our drinks order and food order take promptly and efficiently. We enjoyed an excellent burger , really tasty lasagna and fish cakes. All really good. The desserts we had, sticky toffee pudding and a honeycomb bomb hit the spot too. Our servers!Josh and Alex really looked after us and made us feel comfortable and valued. All in all, a great meal

Visited on a lunchtime after a long walk round Damflask. We were greeted by Pete who was very friendly and informative which was lovely. He advised what was on the menu that day and told me how I could use the offer I had on the app. Our meals arrived promptly and they were generous portions served very attractively. We couldn't fault our lunches at all and we will definitely be back soon. Thanks for a lovely lunch, special thanks to Pete 😊.

Popped in on the off chance and what a wonderful experience! Fantastic Sunday lunch which came piping hot to the table. Plenty of options too! The portion was large too! So tasty! We were offered desserts but we were so full! Next time we will definitely opt for a starter and dessert instead so we can experience everything. I must mention that the beers on tap were to my partner's taste, and the cocktails for me were fantastic! Even better for us, it's our new local! Thanks to Josh for looking after us exceptionally well!

3rd time we've eaten breakfast here. Full English is excellent. Lovely friendly service, they even lit us the fire as we were soaked from a very showery walk! I don't think many know it serves a brunch menu on Saturdays and Sundays. Definitely worth a try, especially in the Rodney's lovely surroundings, inside and out. Can't wait to revisit 😊

We've just had some lunch and was served by Honey. She was so lovely, very quick with bringing everything out and very nice. The food was really lovely, we had 2 beef brisket sandwiches, a sticky toffee pudding and soft drinks. Everything was fab. Will definitely be coming back :)

It's a really friendly pub with good food, been three times in the past month and the customer service and quality of food and drinks has been consistently great - lovely touches such as dog blankets and water bowls etc . No doubt will be back again soon!!!!!

Starter of Calamari and garlic mushrooms were very nice. For mains I had the sea bass which I really enjoyed, my wife had the macaroni cheese which she didn't enjoy because it was really dry and claggy. My son had the Lamb which for the price £24 was poor value. The actual lamb was very nice but there was a lack of vegetables, two thin pieces of tender stem broccoli, really expected more. Luckily I had a voucher for 20% off but you shouldn't have to pay extra for vegetables. Staff and service were fine

Who is the bald middle aged probably racist man working front of house? I’ve never been treated and disrespected in any establishment my whole life until I decided to pop in to your pub to try some of your food. I joined the queue to ask about specialties and such. I heard the couple before me order a 3 for £10 thing so asked what the selection was. Rather than getting help, I got told off for not knowing I had to get a table number before ordering, when no one was there to assist in the first place? I work in hospitality as well, and it took all of me not to respond and do something I would regret, so I just walked out. Way to end a great day in such a nice area. Thanks guys. Zero stars if it were possible.

Superb welcome, beautifully decorated pub with cheery fires on a nasty rainy day. All food was very expertly cooked and ingredients beautifully fresh. Delicious meal, faultless and serving staff lovely. Someone who deserves special mention is Jodie. She was kind, helpful and friendly a fantastic server!

Always really enjoy trips here, food is lovely and staff are always friendly and helpful. We visit for lunch a lot and I would always recommend, it's great to sit on the patio when it's sunny as the view is stunning.

Very nice pub, with very tasty food at reasonable prices, served by friendly, approachable and responsive staff. In the last 8 months I've been to a wedding anniversary party and a wake hosted by the pub and they've done it all excellently.

We had our 15th anniversary here. It was lovely. Just one thing I’d like to mention, I had fish and triple cooked chips. The chips had skins on. I liked the normal ones best! Please get them back.
