Bought a £8 fish special terrible value tiny amount of chips complete rip off.

Compré un pescado de £ 8 especial terrible valor diminuta cantidad de fichas completa estafa. También tenía un pastel de pescado poco cocinado que no era comestible.

Only been once, it's not cheap and portion size isn't good for better places to go, I had fish chips and mushy peas think it was £10, your better off going to Pappas just up the road that was brilliant.

Best chippy in the area, always fresh and tasty. Crispy battered fish and non greasy.

Good chip shop proper big fish not like most chip shops. Order a big fish it will full your plate. Niche chips as well. Always go out of my way to use this chippy

I ordered chips with scraps, bread cake and gravy. They gave me beans instead of gravy, no scraps and and no bread cake. The chips were cold and chewy, tasted bad. No salt and vinegar even though asked for it. Would totally avoid this place

Just been for fish & chips, 7 people in front of me got to the front no fish left!! It’s 7.15 on a sat night, what’s going on! Very poor tonight, off to Papa’s instead!

Paying by card here is like a getting a milkshake from McDonald's ! Not happening! must cost them a fortune in business. Staff and food are always nice.

Waited 25 mins for food nothing ready at 630pm teatime for gods sake not good.

Horrendous today, usually good, nothing in the cabinet, no chips ready, its 12.20 noon! Card machine not working, no signs, dont tell you till you go to pay, just poorly run today, everybody is on zombie mode.

Absolutely filthy given out old chips to the old people and ripped me off she was so disgusting angry she needs to go would never eat from there again that’s 2nd time she’s done that to me and she Defo don’t like anyone who’s not white …..

I got a fishcake as a treat to myself .Because I am diabetic. I have been ill for 5 days with food piosening.Its a good job i didnt eat it all because it was not very nice.Thanks Admiral 5 Beighton.I WONT BE GOING THERE AGAIN.

I previously put a very positive review on about this chippy but now I regret I have to edit that review. At the original visit the fish was excellent and the chips were delicious at what I considered to be 5 star quality. I have visited since the above review (on more than one occasion) and Im sorry to say that,although the fish was still reasonably good, the chips were awfully rubbery, shrivelled and lukewarm. The apparent decline is very disappointing. I will be reluctant to visit again...certainly not for chips.

Gets a bad name because its not in mosborough. Better tha Tony's and shaws which are both over rated plus shaws staff are rude...

Went in at 7.30 said nothing left just couldn't be bothered to fry anything totally bone idle .won't get my custom again. Management need to sort out your staff

Cold fish, chips looked terrible, been cooked more than once yuk and served cold, wasted my money, not go back there

Absolutely dire, poor service staff aren't interested and rude, menu needs updating. The food was cold and we also didn't get what we ordered definitely won't recommend this place and won't be going back there. The ones in Mosborough and Killamarsh are much better.

You would think that purchasing fish and chips at 5pm would mean that they were hot and freshly cooked for the tea time trade. No, the fish had dark rubbery batter as if yesterdays re cooked and the chips were barely warm. A real disappointment . Hopefully when the new Papas fish and chip shop opens it will provide enough competition to make the Admiral up their game. I gave two stars because the portion sizes were decent which was possibly a negative given that they were of such poor quality.

Staff rude...asked for fish and chips in paper no polystyrene dish...coukdnt do it , too difficult for them to measure out..attitude from the old one was awful, wont ever go back in there..what happened to good old chippy that wrapped them in paper

Good chippy. Service depends on who's behind the counter can be in and out or a 5 min wait. The fish special deal is brilliant value. Curry sauce here is a winner.

Quality of chips varies according to who’s on duty. Recently bought a cod special cod was diabolical there basically was just batter and even that was hard so it wasn’t even good enough for the cat never mind me. Peas usually lukewarm and a bit stewed. Only visit if desperate I say because the food is disgusting.

Rude staff especially the lady who is frying! Food wasn’t good either! Won’t be visiting again!

Overly greasy, pale, undercooked chips and a battered sausage that looks and tastes like it was cooked the day previous, didn't sell, so was battered and sold today instead. This shop is an overpriced disgrace

Llamé el viernes a la hora del almuerzo, hoy 7 de febrero. Había dos miembros del personal en la tienda de chips. Una fritura y una porción. Hubo un cliente, que parecía ser un cliente habitual con un pedido grande. El servicio fue dolorosamente lento. Debo haber esperado unos 20 minutos. Cuando me sirvieron y me marcharon, había una cola en la puerta. Un poco decepcionante no hubo reconocimiento del hecho de que había estado esperando 20 minutos. No "lo siento por tu espera" El almirante hace un pequeño bacalao especial. Había tres pescados especiales ya cocinados y mientras estaba parado esperando siete bacalaos frescos fueron cocinados y puestos en el área de calentamiento. El chico de enfrente ordenó seis. La freidora de pescado le indicó al servidor que le diera el pescado recién cocinado y que dejara el otro en el área de calentamiento. Cuando vine a ser servido, pedí específicamente uno de los pescados frescos. La mirada que me dio la freidora fue de disgusto, como si yo fuera algo en lo que ella había intervenido. Desde mi punto de vista, si el pescado que quería venderme no era lo suficientemente bueno para sus clientes habituales, no era lo suficientemente bueno. para mi. La freidora murmuró que el pescado viejo solo había sido cocinado cinco minutos, lo cual no era cierto. Había estado esperando más tiempo que eso. En general, el servicio era tan pobre que no volveré. Hay muchas mejores tiendas de pescado y papas fritas en Sheffield en el futuro, iré a otro lado. El pescado fresco que finalmente obtuve fue muy agradable.

Puedo estar sesgado ya que este es mi chippy local, sin embargo, a medida que viajo por el país un poco, puedo ver otras ciudades, pueblos y tiendas de pescado y papas fritas, y puedo decir categóricamente que el almirante está allí con lo mejor de ellos así que ven, ven al soleado Yorkshire y prueba nuestro pescado y papas fritas.

We normally come here as its been a great chippy, but tonight was the worst I've ever had ended up in bin, chips were like they had been reheated and fish not as good as usual so disappointed

Was staying nearby and fancied a fish supper. I had to wait for the fish to be cooked,which I prefer and ordered chips with it. They offer a smaller portion of chips than the standard ones and I would recommend this option as the standard size is huge and would feed two people. The quality of the fish was good and I would not hesitate to return.

Como es el único chippy a poca distancia, lo he usado varias veces en los últimos años, pero la calidad nunca está presente, ya sea que las papas estén húmedas o el pescado grasoso. El pescado siempre se ha cocinado correctamente, pero luego se ha estropeado por ser grasoso, la comida siempre ha sido caliente y el personal agradable.

Barry (the owner) could not have been more helpful in catering for our school’s Quiz n Chips night in January (sorry for the late review!). He cooked 92 boxes of fresh fish and chips, delivered over two trips, which remained hot until serving. We received very positive comments from parents and staff and would highly recommend The Admiral for the quality of their fish and chips, fair price and excellent customer service. Called for fish only as am watching my weight and the server suggested I needed to lose weight - not professional and extremely offensive! Will never go again! Wish I'd have thrown the fish back in his face!

We called here bank holiday as I just fancied fish & chips the young girl serving was the most miserable I have ever met she needs some customer service training ok if she worked in a call centre I was met with ' what ya want ' I ordered 2 large cod she replied with ' be Bart 5 mins ' also ordered chips, peas @ a homemade fish cake she looked at me if I had 2 heads some chip shops call them different names, I gave her the money but I was trying to get rid of some change she kept holding her hand out & tutting as I didn't have enough and gave her a note then she disappeared thank goodness and my order was finished by a jolly young man it was only when I got home I looked at the receipt I was charged for haddock and large peas, and admiral are not a cheap chip shop either the food was lovely and tasty just shame about the staff woman

Had take away from here many times and the queue is always out the door. Fast service, great prices and the food is always hot and very tasty. Never had a bad one yet!

Delicious food, staff friendly, shop clean and presentable, portion size more than adequate ( one large serving of chips more than enough for 2-3 adults)

First time I've been to this chip shop, so look into the counter there's a large fish, great. Get to the counter large fish n chips please, did you order it. No, you need to order it. Well where's the sign saying order large fish as soon as you step in the door, no other fish n chip shop I've been into do this, Lincoln, nope. Saxilby (small village) nope. So to assume every customer knows how you run is a bit crazy, staff are abrupt but not rude. Unless it's the thin blonde boy, he's rude... Rolls his eyes when you talk to him, pouts at you. Very rude. Other than that's it's a nice place, a sign saying please order large fish straight away or something would be good... Could if offered 2 small ones for same fried but made me wait a year for it to cook, as like I said first time I've used this place as only just moved here.

At the end of the week it has to be fish and no better place than The Admiral. They do a small cod special (fish, chips and choice of peas, curry sauce, beans or gravy). Just the right amount served in a box.

Popped in yesterday as fed up with cooking. Very quiet as it was open all day as extended Xmas hours. The man who served me looked really fed up. He was polite but said nothing more than he needed to.I ordered 1 large cod, 1 large haddock and 1 bag of chips. The cost was £10.50.The food as always was excellent and plentiful. Would definitely recommend as a good takeaway.

Good food. They also now do a special which is popular. They serve fresh fish cod haddock ect. It's hot and well presented. Ideal for a quick meal if you don't want to cook. We use this place regularly

An excellent fish a and chip shop with an extensive menu. Large or small cod or haddock.serverd with choices of mushy peas, curry sauce ,plain salt and vinegar, gravy. Also Chicken portions, Lamb or Beef Donna Kebabs.and various sauces and salads.Large well cooked portions served by friendly helpful staff.

Can't say the fish and chips were memorable the fish comes in small or large I had the large with small chips it was ok but just boring no real flavour filling but that's about it didn't really enjoy them

We use The Admiral quite allot, been at dinner time, tea time and late at night and its always been good, the normal portions are huge but they do small portions for the faint hearted, we have the normal fish and share the chips which is more than enough,it's clean and the staff are ok. One Of The Better Fish and Chip shops.

Not the cheapest but has to be one of the better fish shops in the area. Clean with friendly staff & freshly cooked food. Even if you have to wait a little while its well worth the wait.

whether it is one two or three the values the same if you want cod you have to order when you arrive .Their portions are very large same as the fish so one portion does two people.
