Another family visit to this great pub! As we had a little dog with us we sat in the bar, which was absolutely fine. The owners and staff are very friendly and welcoming. The food is excellent and good value for money. We shall be returning before long!

Stumbled on this amazing place whilst on a walk from our nearby hotel Salford Hall. Another nearby establishment (the Bell Inn or was it another name 🤔) which we visited was less than hospitable so this was a great find! Friendly staff, a fabulous real fireplace as we entered so lovely & cosy & just enjoyed the best carvery Sunday Roast ever! Lovely to meet Lolo, Keith & Dean today … such warm & friendly people & a really nice atmosphere. The Guinness was cold & a great pint & if you’re ever in the area, please visit! Also have sky sports so great for an afternoon of footy too! Love this place would definitely recommend anyone to visit when in the area ❤️

stayed in a local hotel to the vineyard a few hundred yards away. This is a great little pub with the best pint of guinness around. the owners and locals very friendly with a small cafe connected to the pub serving lovely food. Highly recommended if you are looking for a cheaper alternative to hotel prices. Will return and thanks to all. Happy christmas. Pete/Ann

Hi Everyone, I recently hired the restaurant for a graduation celebration and I have to say that we have never been so pleased to have given this place our custom. The staff are very helpful, easy to speak to and always ready to please. No request was refused if it could be done it was. The room was to be hired for 40 guests, and was catered for with both Hot and cold foods. The room does have capacity for more should we have needed it so if we had had extras these people could have been included easily, we were given the disposal of the room the day prior to our event to decorate as we saw fit, and the staff were there with a few drinks to keep us going and a friendly chat and even a helping hand if we needed it, and following the party, the staff had taken down those decorations and considerately and respectfully placed them in bags ready for collection by us. When large life events cross our paths, it's the little touches that make them extra special. If you are in need of a venue for such an event, I would have absolutely no reason not to recommend The Vineyard, in Abbots Salford, let them know what you need and watch the magic happen. The whole experience could not be faulted, and if we pop in, the same faces are their for a friendly natter over a pint and perhaps something hot to eat.

Just had a fantastic Sunday carvery roast at this super friendly pub. Food was excellent, all cooked fresh and plenty of it. Staff and locals were really welcoming and made a fuss of our dog. Definitely recommend a visit.

Our first visit and certainly will not be our last! We had a lovely Sunday lunch, with excellent friendly and efficient service from Amelia. We met the great hosts too who could not have been more welcoming. Really good quality food at a reasonable price. We shall be going next week for breakfast!

Visitors to the area, we walked in for just one drink on Friday night. They say you walk in as a stranger and walk out a friend and that’s exactly what happened. Great live music, staff were so friendly and great atmosphere. We’re returning for the famous carvery later today. Highly recommended.

Fantastic food every time the Sunday Carvery made so fresh with fantastic fresh vegetables thick slices of meat, scrumptious, thick, gravy, lovely ambience with log fires friendly staff and management and lovely locals. Wow, what a find! Walked in as a family of 13 to the warmest welcome. We booked 10 minutes before Aroiing, wardwe were are tedionels" We wiles and seated in a beautiful dining room and treated like their family, despite having never been before. The food was perfectly cooked, piping hot, meat was generously plated up and there were all the vegetables you could want or need. Fantastically priced, spotless clean and wonderfully comfortable. Thank you, what a fantastic place with amazing people. We'll 100% be back and recommend without reservation.

Cooked food only available if pre-booked on Tuesdays. The chef Trevor runs the Snack Shack in the carpark. Delicious sirloin steak cooked to perfection. Thanks Trevor. The locals made us very welcome.

Currently staying in the area and after an aborted attempt to visit last Friday evening, we decided to try the carvery on Sunday and we weren’t disappointed. Choice of 3 roast meats and lots of different vegetables equalled a very big plateful. It was delicious too as were the bailey’s cheesecake and apple pie desserts. The staff were all very friendly and welcoming too. We will return to sample the normal menu before our week is over

This Pub/Restaurant is non other than a secret paradise! :) Owned by dear friends of my Father? (The delay in my review is because I’ve never used Trip Advisor before and wasn’t sure how to, also the past few months have brought on morning sickness which knocked me for six after a 5 year break of having my other Son lol)?! I owe it to Keith and family to do this correctly and let everyone know what they are missing out on)!;) Keith slotted us in last minute and pulled out all the stops for Christmas-Day Dinner and let me tell you this much-we will be booking well in advance for Christmas-Day this year only with a new little Baby in tow :) xX The atmosphere was very relaxed and even though it took us just under an hour to reach the venue and we were slightly late, it was well worth the drive! Keith welcomed us with open arms and a friendly smile then brought all the family whom work there too over to us for loving fuss and catch-up embraces? :) Everyone congratulating me on my little bundle of joy which was broadcast on my Son’s t-shirt (really was an emotionally blessed, happy and rewarding welcome and a day we will all cherish forever having not seen Keith and his family in a number of years)?! We ordered drinks at the bar then were lead through to the beautiful restaurant outhouse which was buzzing with life and crowds and we felt right at home! Then Lolo came over and reassuringly changed my menu choices as when we booked the Meal I wasn’t pregnant but when Christmas-Day came I was blessed with pregnancy lol, so she advised what I could and couldn’t eat and drink which was very satisfying and comforting? The Meal was delicious, very good value for money and plentiful! It was also very a la carte high standard with the options available for Starters, Dessert plus Cheese & Biscuits, with the main Buffet style help yourself which suited my cravings and my Sons platter? We were not rushed even though our sitting went over and 4.5 full tummies later (The Grandparents/Parents, my 5 years old Son and myself with “Baby-Bump)”? :) :) Once finished our meals, we went and sat in the cosy bar area with fire to have a drink for the road and a quick tour lead by this kind family of owners (with Lolo kindly welcoming me over the summer with my new baby and Son to sit out in the Garden with them all again-counting down the months)! :) :-D This Pub has so much going for it as a hidden village gem equipped with Beer Garden, plentiful Parking, beautiful surroundings and a picturesque backdrop? Child friendly, Dog Friendly and Disabled Friendly, this Pub really ticks all the boxes! Go see for yourselves! ;) :-* xxxxxxx

Visited The Vineyard with high hopes after reading reviews etc. Can't comment on the food as only stayed for a drink. What a dump! A good clean would not go amiss, think the "friendly staff" mentioned in other comment must not have been working tonight. Won't be bothering again.

We booked a table and duly arrived to be very warmly greeted by the owners and staff. Having studied a comprehensive menu, we selected our meals which were served fairly promptly. The quality and quantity of our meals was excellent and we will certainly visit the Vineyard again and bring our friends with us. Many thanks to the owners and staff.

We had a good meet up with relatives at the vineyard , the food was good and very polite staff but nothing exceptional. If you want good value food in a comfortable pub ,then you cannot go far wrong !

The Vineyard is a pub restaurant without pretensions. If you're looking for noveau cuisine, poncy staff, tweed jackets and red trousers - drive on. Instead you will alight on good old English food, generous portions and cheerful staff. Please don't leave after you have eaten - join the patrons in the bar area where you will be treated like long lost friends. These people are genuinely friendly. There is a sign on the bar ENTER A STRANGER, LEAVE A FRIEND. Never more truer than here. On the Friday we stayed there was karaoke. The singing was generally awful which made it all the more fun. Places like this are fast disappearing so don't miss the opportunity to drop in.

We were staying in the nearby Salford Hall Hotel for a 3 night break. Arrived too early for check in on Tuesday, so called into The Vineyard for a snack. We have never had such a warm welcome. From the locals who all said hello to the (new) owners who were so friendly and Rob behind the bar who was a real character. My husband ordered a curry. We were due to eat in the hotel that evening so I just ordered a baguette. It was huge and came with a lovely fresh salad. My husband said his curry was delicious.We loved the pub so much that we called in on our way back from our days out on the next 2 days just to relax with a beer and say hello. This pub is not 'posh' but what it IS is a place where strangers are made to feel really welcome. Thanks to Lola, her husband and their gorgeous daughter Casey. Hope to see you all again one day.

Right from the start you are made welcome in this great pub, great pub grub with a typical style menu to choose from. Good size portions and well cooked meals, will return soon.

Been visiting this pub for sometime now great traditional country pub with real friendly staff . Ive been to all the pubs in the area and the Vineyard is the best of all of them.

The food at the vineyard is proper fresh home cooked food, and they are a good portion too. We found all the staff to be very friendly and informative. They have an excellent selection of drinks from larger, ales, wines and spirits. We found the vine to be an all round really good pub, and they allow friendly dog.

Went here with family, and friends who live locally and thoroughly enjoyed it. The real ale was superb and the Sunday lunch fantastic. It's a great traditional pub with an excellent outdoor area for both adults and kids and the staff were welcoming and friendly. Would definitely recommend and we liked it that much we're going to go back, even though we live about 25 miles away.

This is a real pub not a restaurant with a bar, great value really cheap, but not fine dining. If you have kids great place lots of room and won’t cost the earth friendly.

Two of us popped in for a Sunday lunch and what a Sunday lunch it was indeed we both like our Sunday lunch and definatly wasn't disappointed with our choice the bar was reasonably busy and Large party and a few others in the resteraunt we had the gin & tonic prawns hand battered not your usual frozen sorts you get in most places these days and a homemade spiced tomato and garlic soup both fantastic and presented to more of like a top class resteraunt than just a pub meal the flavours were all there we then had a lamb and a beef dinner both were cooked to perfection and again presented in a modern way with leek and parsnip crisps and a rich flavoursome gravy we tried to find fault but simply could not then out came a huge bowl of fresh vegetables cooked not to much but not raw just how we like them the roast potatoes were really good along with the gravy so we asked for more we then had the homemade cheesecake Valencien orange and chocolate it had the taste of Jaffa cakes and was excellent to finish off our meal the food was way way better than simply PUB FOOD well done to the vineyards chef your food is simply stunning.

Popped in for a drink was greated with a warm welcome and a personality behind the bar ,a typical old style pub with modern features credit where it's due the guy that served us was a real character and was able to hold conversation,obviously well liked in the community and nothing was a issue and was willing to help

Staying a couple of nights in Salford Haal Hotel, walked out to enjoy some food in the Vineyard having read good reports on tripadvisor. What a mistake, no food due to renovation we believe, had a pleasant pint but the two individuals at the bar exchanging some very rich fowl language put us off having a second, instead we walked down the road to the Bell where we received a warm welcome and great food.

Walked in for a drink after a long while of simply not going in due to the previous owners,and what a please tell surprise I was greated by a young man on the bar who explained his boss had recently brought the pub and its undergoing a major refurb .we stopped for a drink as no food was available on our visit day ,but the young barman called Richard explained that soon the resteraunt will be opening as so far they are only doing food on the weekend I asked what food or type they'll be doing he explained that he is the chef and he will be doing good homemade pub grub in the bar and a different menu for the resteraunt I asked him a few questions and he had great knowledge of food and allergies we will definatly be returning to try his wares once the resteraunt is open

Stopped at a local hotel and me and the wife decided to take a walk ,not far away we came across the vineyard where we walked into a room where the barman showed us both threw to the main bar area and immediately asked us how we were ,are we local and how lovely the morning was and proceeded to pour us a pint of doom bar which can I say was perfect and the wife a glass of wine ,background music and the friendliest welcome I've received in many a year was the vineyards assets, the barman was a credit to the place , we asked a regular who was drinking his name and credit to you Rich ,and thank you for the warmest welcome .we will definatly be returning ,a lovely warm welcome and excellent service

ok from the outside this place looks like a dump but when you enter you can see that work is ongoing and still open ,and will be nice with it's quirky wall paper and sofas ,the restaurant part hasn't been decorated yet .we had the hand battered Thai chicken and the balsamic glazed topped mushrooms ,we were blown away with the presentation nowhere else round here does it and the flavours .we then had roast beef that too was presented like a picture you didn't want to eat it just look the gravy was the best I've had in a long time ,with a good choice of vegetables .we then had a homemade cheese cake each 1 Turkish delight and 1 chocolate orange and both were to die for presented fab

Been there twice now on a Sunday lunch time and I have to say on both occasions the food was exceptional the prawn cocktail starter is to die for.

Me and the other half visited this pub after hearing it has changed hands, it's easy to see work is still ongoing and isn't finished yet, we were greated by I assume was the manageress /owner she explained to us the menu so we then we're enticed to dine ,she said you won't be disappointed with our chefs food ,we thought ....ummm we'll see,I had the prawn "twisted"cocktail ,and the other half had the ribs on a bed of beansprouts both were presented excellently and of good size ,and tasted divine , for main we both had the beef again presented in such a way like what you see on the TV the gravy was mind blowing as were the selection of 10 different vegetables all perfectly cooked.then the best part of the meal for me was the homemade cheesecakes I had the pink gin and tonic !!!!!!! A total masterpiece with a taste to match .i would definatly give this place 6 stars for the food alone ,and along with the service would definatly recommend

Family run pub! Great welcome and the young lady who served us our drinks was so attentive. As was the lovely blonde lady that showed us the menu. They’ve just started to serve food in the evening. I’d definitely get down there and try it out!!

Ive never wrote or used trip advisor before so excuse me if I have no idea what I’m doing , we as a family have not visited the vineyard in over 6years due to the attitude of several managers since 2011 , having heard the pub has now been bought as a free hold we thought we would pop in been local to see what was going on although the pub is closed we were greeted by 2 guys who explained a refurbishment was ongoing and would be reopening soon , may I add hospitality at its best by the 2 men offering me coffee , is that not hospitality at its best? A breath of fresh air compared to umpteen previous tenants who were nothing but rude to customers , we both wish the new owners all the best once settled in to their new business

Once again visited this rustic good old fashioned Sunday lunch ,great selection of veg which is cooked not raw , meat selection as good as ever and plentiful absolutely recommend this place locals are friendly and some good characters about.

This is a nice pub but could be a lot better. There were young children playing football in the bar, and the staff were continually missing from behind the bar causing you to wait. If this pub was run properly it could be a good pub

We moved into the area November, I made some enquiries as to the Best carvery in the area, The Vineyard was highly recommended and very quickly could see why, everyone is a specially friendly, and made us very welcome, Richard works really hard behind the bar and Lisa Exceeds all expectations on the Amazing carvery 4meats 9veg unbelievable value for £7.50 and Absolutely Lush needless to say theirs only one place to be for my Sunday Lunch !! Try it their will be no looking back ;-)

Bar service a bit slow but only to be expected in today's climate i.e numbers. Food very well prepared and cooked , fantastic flavour, love it there , they do not scimp on meat and a massive compared to others veg selection.

Arrived on a Monday evenig which we appreciate isnt the busyest night of the week, we were greeted by the landlord, if you can call it that. no one else around and the main lounge was closed. We ordered our drink and sat in a tardy bar with no atmosphere whatsoverer!

We were staying in the nearby caravan park Abbots Salford and visited this pub several times for drinks.

After reading some great reviews we called in to eat on Friday and was told there was no food available because it was Kareoke Night. The pub itself looked pretty run down, a "spit and sawdust" place and some of the locals at the bar were merrily swearing away with no respect for ladies being present. I wouldn't recommend it unless you fancy a rough night out but can't comment on the quality of the food, as none was available. It is a local country pub, not a restaurant.

Food at this venue was highly recommended by many people we met. A choice of 4 meats, Beef, Pork, Turkey and Ham. they all looked so inviting it was difficult to choose. We had a generous portion of the beef and whilst discussing the pork which had wonderful crackling we were offered a portion of this also. Vegetables were self-service and what an array to choose from. Peas, sweetcorn, swede, carrots, cabbage, sprouts, mashed potatoes, roast potatoes, stuffing, horseradish sauce and gravy. The beef was so tender,succulent and moist as also the pork which was so tender it fell apart. The crackling was amazing. Seating was pub style. Drinking in the bar afterwards was great to be involved in the local chit chat and general friendliness of the staff. Value for money was amazing at £7 per head. Many fancy restaurants could not offer the quality of this food. Thank you so much to all the staff at The Vineyard.

Booked here to try the carvery at £7 .Excellant choice of 4 meats and i think a choice of 9 veg. Really enjoyed it,very good value and well cooked.OK just a pub but friendly staff .Cant beat it for the price .Not posh -just honest surroundings . About time we had more pubs like this and less saying we are a pub but just doing expensive food

Visited lunch time on a Thursday, the bar was still being serviced so were shown into dining room where there were cleaning buckets left lying around. Had to wait 45mins for our order and when our chicken arrived I could hardly get my knife into it so had to leave half.

Went for Sunday lunch. Carvery had 4 meat choices & 9 veg choices. Good quality & only £7. We didn't book just turned up, luckily we did get a table. Would recommend getting there before 12.30. Otherwise get there after 1.30 when the first sitting have started to finish so tables become available.

Thought my partner and I would try the Sunday carvery as very reasonable priced at £7 , four meats and nine Veg! ! The turkey was so delicious, melted in the mouth as was the beef, all the veg fresh, it truly was delicious and for that price will definitely be visiting again, only advice would be to book as gets busy, very friendly staff.

I called in here today for a pub lunch. To be given such a lovely welcome is not easy to find today. What about our A.O.P. menu ?....£3.99 for you lunch.... Scampi chips peas..for two cider one pint one half total
