Lovely food. We had starters and main meals which we all enjoyed ! Friendly, welcoming staff and we stayed for the quiz. Really enjoyed it here.

The Vine staff were very friendly and inviting when I booked at short notice. They were helpful with disability advice, and wheelchair access was excellent. Their specials board offered a fine choice and the smoked Haddock risotto we chose was very tasty and quickly served. The deserts were first class and better value than anywhere else we've tried on the Isle of Wight

Spontaneous visit as the sun was out and was not disappointed. We had the pork bites special to start, which was out of this world. I had the Thai king prawn noodles again from the specials as my main and my husband had the sausage and mash. Both were spectacular, the Thai noodles had so much flavour and cooked to perfectionn! Service very friendly and attentive. Will be returning

Visited with my daughter and a friend with her kids. The process to order was very quick and the food came very quick too. Food was great and the price was reasonable. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Despite it being so busy due to the carnival the staff there still had a smile on their face and didn’t get any orders wrong which was impressive. I recommend this pub if you are visiting St Helens 😊

Great pub excellent service and good food.

Had the Sunday roast today, choice of beef or gammon. We chose one of each, although nicely presented, there wasn't much meat on either meal, there were also very few vegetables for two people, aside from the roast potatoes. The meal was ok, but no more, not very inspiring. The desserts, sticky toffee pud and apple and cinnamon crumble with custard were both delicious.

Getting to The Vine by bus from our home in Wroxall is a bit of a chore. However, I'll make the effort once in a while because of their homemade pies. An observation, not a criticism, is I would like the option of mash instead of chips. I am rather a 'pie and mash' devotee myself. This time it was chicken and bacon and unusually, my wife had the same. Despite generally having a much smaller appetite and often opting for 'child meals' in pubs, she enjoyed it so much that she ate it all... though admittedly was slightly over-awed by the number of chips. If you like a pie... you need to put The Vine on your 'goto' list!

Lovely food and even have a take away menu but was disappointed the pool table has not been returned as it was a highlight to play pool there.

The service was great, with a good selection of real ales, and the food was also good. The barman provided excellent service. There is a play area in the park across the road, which was useful for the kids. I would recommend it.

we booked for a meal for 4 people on saturday at 7pm,when we managed to get to reservatio n bar we were told table down there it was quite packed & loud we tried to get a drink but bar was crowded so we went to reservation end of bar to order food , about 6 people trying to do same thing so we gave up & left the pub.never had to do this before .wont be back.

Changed hands since last we were there, now a lot less sticky! We called in around midday, was quiet, landlady friendly, beer I had (name?) was fab, didn't eat on this occasion, we'll be back.

Lovely little pub with great service , they serve cocktails and food too.

Horrendous food! Staff were incredibly nice and helpful but the food was honestly the worst we’ve had in a while. Everything was obviously frozen from the chips to the calamari. Pizza was raw on the bottom, and when asked to be cooked some more came back the exact same, halloumi was frozen and extremely salty, burgers were nothing special either. Waited 55 minutes as well for the food on a Friday night at 7:30, we don’t mind waiting of course but not for that quality of food and it wasn’t cheap either. Dissatisfied and disappointed.

Walked to the pub from Bembridge marina across the Duver. Disappointingly there were no roast dinners left. Fish and Chips was decent, steal was cooked medium rare as requested. Beer was good. Not award winning cuisine but decent pub grub. Friendly service.

Well worth a visit staff amazing food out of this world 10 of us different meals all came out together all absolutely spot on and delicious will be returning very soon

The staff are amazing however the food was utterly awful. I ordered the chicken tikka masala which came and looked like it had been left in a slow cooker for 2 days. The chicken was bone dry and I couldn’t eat it. Chips were nice but you don’t pay £14 for them do you. Staff were brilliant, they replaced the meal but was still awfully dry so I left this second meal. They did ask for the third time whether I wanted another meal but by this point I had lost my appetite. We spent just close to £80 in there tonight and the food was overall disappointing. I ended up having to get crisps/snack from the premier in after have 6 spoonfuls of the curry. We may pop in for a drink but we definitely wouldn’t recommend the food.

Nice pub in a great position in the middle of the village. Staff are very friendly and it was great be able to bring our dog in with us. The menu looks very enticing but sadly wasn’t the best - chicken was very dry on both meals and tasteless, as if it was re-heated. Staff were great about it, replaced one of the meals but sadly the replacement didn’t taste any better. Such a shame as it really let this place down. We did get offered a free desert to compensate us but sadly we didn’t fancy it. We would visit again but probably just for drinks.

Dog friendly, good food, guest ciders and Isle of Wight ales. What's not to like? 2024: Still very dog friendly. There is a garden out the back too. Food is fairly good and inexpensive. Gregory's tagliatelle was very rich and more than most people could eat, but tasty. At lunchtime the sausage sandwich was excellent. Homemade pies were huge and filled with beef. The pastry was a bit overcooked but not quite pickaxe territory. The fishcakes were OK but not Thai. Chips were excellent, everything was freshly cooked or prepared. Not a huge range of beers or ciders, Razorback or Green King IPA and Inches cider. Staff are warm and welcoming, very helpful too. Still a nice place to visit.

Spent a pleasant evening here. It feels very much a traditional pub - order at the bar and your food arrives via friendly staff. Atmosphere was lovely and really enjoyed the meal. Food was great.

This pub was recommended by several people, so we popped in for pizza. The pub was busy & the server was friendly & helpful. The food was served hot & plentiful.

We came here whilst on holiday and we were greeted like the neighbours as we walked through the doors! Staff extremely friendly and happy to help with any request! Lots of choice for food and drinks… food was absolutely delicious… could not fault it! Wonderful flavours and great portion size. We had a gammon steak and the Gregory’s tagliatelle which was already incredible but the story behind it made me even more in love with the place! I would 1000% recommend The Vine Inn <3

Lovely location just off the green, with beautiful views. Good selection of beers and had a delicious pork Sunday roast dinner which was great value. Can’t ask for anything more!

Would recommend. Enjoyed first meal so much went back for following day and day after for dinner. All food cooked perfect and home made deserts we had were delicious. Various Vegetarian options not the usual veg lasagne and fish and chips only.

We were invited to a charity event. There were a lot more people who turned up than expected. The staff couped really well. We stade after the event was over and had a meal which was really good. Fantastic day out, thank The Vine for there hospitality

Another great meal had here by us all. The rigatoni was very tasty, as were the home made desserts as always which were very reasonably priced and a decent size. Looking forward to our next visit.

Hi, my name is Bops and I have 4 legs, we live locally so I often take my people to the Vine Inn, they have the light bites meals 2 for £12 and enjoy them (they are incredibly mean!) however I have discovered a glass sweet jar by the bar full of delicious dog biscuits so will keep taking my people there😀 The pub is goodly sized with plenty of tables and is well laid out, the staff ( mostly young ladies) are friendly and helpful, the menu is plentiful and reasonably priced, the bar is well kept and clean. I would highly rate the Vine Inn as a family friendly pub and i notice lots of couples including seniors (like my folk) who pop in for a bite. There is plenty of room for me to lay down to munch their delicious dog biscuits, well done, woof woof 🐕🐕

Visited a few times always great food and friendly service, never had a bad meal. Great veggie options, hubby and kids loved it!

The first of a few booked Christmas lunches but so terribly disappointing. The best part of the meal was that the seating was nice and close to the fire. The menu was pre-selected but not one of the six plates was really acceptable. Any pastry used was like rubber and it was difficult to find any crab meat amongst the potato of the crab cakes. The worst plate was the lamb shank served with only root vegetables. The meat could not be cut with an ordinary knife so a steak knife was requested, but this was as useless. Eventually a cut was made and the meat by the bone was not rare, it was RAW. Not one mouthful was taken. No green vegetables were served with the main and when requested we were told they were not on the menu. Eventually given a bowl of some sort of shredded leek. The waitress took the lamb shank into the kitchen to put in a box so it could be taken home for the dogs and agreed it was impossible to cut. Very generously they gave us a free cup of coffee. Unfortunately this will be our first and last time at The Vine.

Amazing place, all staff are wonderful. Food is excellent, would recommend.

Visited a number of times this year and the food is always really good - especially the pie of the day. Nice atmosphere and excellent and very friendly staff. Looking forward to coming back next year!

A fantastic Island Pub. Run by the Cant/White Quality Island Pub chain. A lovely village pub with views over the large village green. Play area on the green for kids. Nice beer gdn to rear. Lovely traditional English pub internally. Comfortable and clean. Always fantastic friendly efficient service from the quality management and staff team. Rob, Carina and Amber are all pure quality people. The un sung heroes are the extremely hard working chefs and kitchen staff who produce the lovely,quality meals. This place is ideal for a Solo visit, Couples and family's. Well worth regular visits. Regular hourly Bus service outside, only 25 mins to Central Ryde. 😀👍

We visit the Isle of Wight a lot and always visit the Vine for food and generally take part in the quiz on a Wednesday. It's good pub grub and good value for money. Generally a good selection of ales. The staff are always friendly and there is a good atmosphere. Our dog is welcome,

Been to the Vine several times now, and have never been disappointed. We have had the light bite’s which are a smaller version meal, off of the main menu . I have to say that they are larger than expected. We have also had hunters chicken of the main menu. Lovely meal. The prices have increased a fair bit since last year , but so have most eateries. So we would still recommend giving the Vine a try .

Walked in without booking on a cold windy November night with the kids. Very welcoming. The Vine had a good selection of homemade food on the menu plus a good child's menu. Our meal was very good quality, nice size portions and reasonably priced. We would return again.

Great food, dog and family friendly. We were lucky to find a table for our group of 9 as another family were just leaving. Food took while to arrive but was worth the wait. Staff were friendly and helpful.

We visited the vine Pub today we didn’t reserve a table, but the staff was so friendly and nice that they are allowed us to take table. Straightaway telling us the special offers of the day which was steak or gammon with all the trimmings.. I chose the steak which was cooked, absolutely perfect to how I wanted it. My husband decided to go for the vine burger.. which was huge And delicious, The place had a lovely atmosphere, the locals made you feel very welcome and the staff was so friendly and hard-working. Would I recommend this place, 100%

Excellent fish and chips. Beautifully crisp batter, lovely flakey cod fillet.

We have been several times for the Sunday lunch which never disappoints, but this time we came to celebrate my husband’s 60th birthday . The whole experience was absolutely faultless. Staff were so friendly and helpful allowing us too put balloons on the table and even wrote happy birthday on a little board . All our meals were fantastic and my husband even got a candle in his dessert . We will definitely be back and I’m recommending to people as I tell them what a wonderful evening we had . Thankyou x

Brilliant visits to The Vine Inn, en route the Classic Buses Weekend Ryde. Early Evening drinks with a good friend in a nice friendly relaxed atmosphere with friendly and efficient management and staff and did it all over again on Sunday, this time for a quality home cooked lunch, good portions, lovely quality cooked and yet again quality friendly service from front of house crew. Amber is a true rising star of The Vine. 😀👍

Popped in for a couple of drinks and sat in the snug area with our dog. I had a local Mermaid gin, good service and nice atmosphere.

Food was to die for!!!! My partner has the nachos with bbq pulled pork on top - she couldnt get enough😂 I had the Calamari - and even with the stinking cold I've got - the sauce was amazing. Partner had the sausage and mash, but was legitimately a bit full from too much nachos to finish it G but said it was amazing. I had the liver and bacon with mash, but far one of the best gravies/ju's I've had. Super super dog friendly, made our little sky feel welcome-brought her her own water bowl, and then a little later she got brought a nice biscuit bone treat - not necessary but these types of things need to be mentioned. Great service, above and beyond with the food - and great with the doggies. 10/10 will be back next time we visit the isle. X

Should have reviewed ages ago as visit often (live in Bembridge). Staff always lovely. Food always amazing. Food always very reasonably priced. The thing that ALWAYS stands out is the cleanliness. You'll never get a dirty condiment basket from this place, or The Castle in Newport and no doubt The Wheatsheaf or Crown either (haven't been yet but know the standards will be high). It's been a while since I used this pub and since then undergone a transformation. A managerial and extensive decor changes have brought the pub back to life. Staff are polite and cheerful...and get the job done; food is well prepared and presented and in general the vibe is good. Live music on Friday nights gives it a kick. Will definitely go back.

This was our first visit to the Vine Inn and I would definitely recommend it. We visit the island twice a year and often spend our time in St Helens as it’s our favourite village. The food was excellent and the staff were very friendly. What appealed to us was that they were dog friendly too. If you do not have a big appetite then you can go for a lighter meal. Usually I am a foodie but neither my partner or I could finish our meal as their portion sizes are very generous. It was also very clean and tidy, and very informative about up and coming events, so if you want live music then this is a place to visit and enjoy the numerous beers and cocktails they have on offer as well as local beers. Thank you all for a pleasant evening.

The hop-on, hop-off bus dropped us right outside the front door of this pub, and directly across the road from one of the village greens. Visited here with my wife and a couple of friends for Sunday lunch. Service was prompt and friendly. Even though...

The worst fish and chips dry and tasteless I complained to the waitress but she just said she would tell the chief.

We had the most incredible lunch at The Vine today! The loaded nachos with chilli, sour cream, salsa and guacamole were the best I've ever had (this is my go-to meal). There was lots of gooey cheese, the chilli was excellent and I thoroughly enjoyed...
