Greeted with a warm welcome, explained what was available then shown to our table which we had reserved. Browsed menu then went onto bar to order our food. We ordered a stater each then the main meal and our drinks. Paid for our items and went and sat down. Starters arrived quickly and hot. Once cleared away our main meal arrived which was the Sunday roast with vegetables. All of which we would highly recommend as was very nice. Finished our meal and was offered the choice of desserts from the board, both options of hot and cold . what we had was lovely

We assumed we would be too late for lunch but providing the full menu was no problem even after 2pm on a Tuesday in October (NB may change after half term). Really delicious steak pie and chips. I have a great appetite and had walked 18km, but with so much juicy tender steak in the pie I didn't have room to try one of the tempting desserts. Would definitely return if in the area again. Thank you very much.

An excellent pub with a lovely atmosphere. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Dogs are made very welcome. The quiz on a Wednesday evening is first rate and although competitive is played in a lovely spirit. The food is very good pub grub and at a reasonable price. We went four times during our stay and thoroughly enjoyed each occasion. Strongly recommend it.

Lovely pub and staff, great food, affordable prices. Only issue I had was that there were a few non-friendly dogs in the pub that kept having a go at each other. Makes the environment not feel safe whilst they are barking aggressively at each other.

Very dog friendly . Had a great ‘classic’ pub meal here . A notch, or more, above the rest ! A good selection on the menu , with ‘specials’ and all done to a great standard, with good portions at a reasonable price . The chef takes pride and discussed the menu , before we ordered .. explains the healthy options too . Would definitely revisit & reccomend .

The Vine Inn... well, what can i say.. ABSOLUTELY SUPERB. A lovely pub with a good choice of beers, and food. Very friendly and welcoming, the atmosphere was great. My Girlfriend and I had the pleasure of visiting this establishment twice. Excellent service by Carina and Amber. The food was delicious and very reasonably priced. The Sunday roast was to die for, and I would recommend booking a table for the Sunday roasts, as the pub was packed. We thoroughly recommend this pub. 5 stars ⭐ all the way through. Wonderful pub to go to, great welcome. We were on a weeks holiday and decided to visit this pub for a meal, as reviews were good. We were not disappointed, we all ordered different meals and all were great. The pie of the day was steak and ale and when it was served it was a large slice, full of meat and delicious. The greek pizza was again, large and one of the best I have had. The last meal was liver and bacon, again a great meal. We went back for Sunday lunch and enjoyed the same welcome and delicious meals. If you are in that area worth a visit, took us back to the days of a village inn, lovely atmosphere and a great welcome.

Had the Sunday roast today, choice of beef or gammon. We chose one of each, although nicely presented, there wasn't much meat on either meal, there were also very few vegetables for two people, aside from the roast potatoes. The meal was ok, but no more, not very inspiring. The desserts, sticky toffee pud and apple and cinnamon crumble with custard were both delicious.

Getting to The Vine by bus from our home in Wroxall is a bit of a chore. However, I'll make the effort once in a while because of their homemade pies. An observation, not a criticism, is I would like the option of mash instead of chips. I am rather a 'pie and mash' devotee myself. This time it was chicken and bacon and unusually, my wife had the same. Despite generally having a much smaller appetite and often opting for 'child meals' in pubs, she enjoyed it so much that she ate it all... though admittedly was slightly over-awed by the number of chips. If you like a pie... you need to put The Vine on your 'goto' list!

Horrendous food! Staff were incredibly nice and helpful but the food was honestly the worst we’ve had in a while. Everything was obviously frozen from the chips to the calamari. Pizza was raw on the bottom, and when asked to be cooked some more came back the exact same, halloumi was frozen and extremely salty, burgers were nothing special either. Waited 55 minutes as well for the food on a Friday night at 7:30, we don’t mind waiting of course but not for that quality of food and it wasn’t cheap either. Dissatisfied and disappointed.

The staff are amazing however the food was utterly awful. I ordered the chicken tikka masala which came and looked like it had been left in a slow cooker for 2 days. The chicken was bone dry and I couldn’t eat it. Chips were nice but you don’t pay £14 for them do you. Staff were brilliant, they replaced the meal but was still awfully dry so I left this second meal. They did ask for the third time whether I wanted another meal but by this point I had lost my appetite. We spent just close to £80 in there tonight and the food was overall disappointing. I ended up having to get crisps/snack from the premier in after have 6 spoonfuls of the curry. We may pop in for a drink but we definitely wouldn’t recommend the food.

Nice pub in a great position in the middle of the village. Staff are very friendly and it was great be able to bring our dog in with us. The menu looks very enticing but sadly wasn’t the best - chicken was very dry on both meals and tasteless, as if it was re-heated. Staff were great about it, replaced one of the meals but sadly the replacement didn’t taste any better. Such a shame as it really let this place down. We did get offered a free desert to compensate us but sadly we didn’t fancy it. We would visit again but probably just for drinks.

Dog friendly, good food, guest ciders and Isle of Wight ales. What's not to like? 2024: Still very dog friendly. There is a garden out the back too. Food is fairly good and inexpensive. Gregory's tagliatelle was very rich and more than most people could eat, but tasty. At lunchtime the sausage sandwich was excellent. Homemade pies were huge and filled with beef. The pastry was a bit overcooked but not quite pickaxe territory. The fishcakes were OK but not Thai. Chips were excellent, everything was freshly cooked or prepared. Not a huge range of beers or ciders, Razorback or Green King IPA and Inches cider. Staff are warm and welcoming, very helpful too. Still a nice place to visit.

The first of a few booked Christmas lunches but so terribly disappointing. The best part of the meal was that the seating was nice and close to the fire. The menu was pre-selected but not one of the six plates was really acceptable. Any pastry used was like rubber and it was difficult to find any crab meat amongst the potato of the crab cakes. The worst plate was the lamb shank served with only root vegetables. The meat could not be cut with an ordinary knife so a steak knife was requested, but this was as useless. Eventually a cut was made and the meat by the bone was not rare, it was RAW. Not one mouthful was taken. No green vegetables were served with the main and when requested we were told they were not on the menu. Eventually given a bowl of some sort of shredded leek. The waitress took the lamb shank into the kitchen to put in a box so it could be taken home for the dogs and agreed it was impossible to cut. Very generously they gave us a free cup of coffee. Unfortunately this will be our first and last time at The Vine.

We enjoyed a visit to the botanical gardens & decided to stop in to their cafe /restaurant for a bite to eat I must say that the views were stunning looking out onto the gardens , we were lucky enough to get a table on the veranda where a local choir were singing & it made our day The food menu is quite limited but there were a nice selection of cakes available & lots of unusual teas too The food we did order was delicious .. but they were small portions for the price ( I must admit it was one our most expensive eats while on the isle of wight!) All in all a great setting to enjoy a cup of tea & drink but maybe wouldn’t go back for food

From the outset the bar staff were friendly and helpful and could not be faulted the food was exquisite and the portion sizes were just right , the value for money was spot on. The ambiance with the view over the Solent as the sun went down was captivating Thank you Seaview Hotel for a memorable evening

This is a great 'out of the way' place to stop and have a quick bite to eat or drink, the cafe is set in the grounds of the abbey and there is seating inside and out. A lovely location on any day. There is a small menu of food available. Plus homemade cakes and hot drinks
