Really good food and drink at reasonable prices

Great place to chill and have nice meal .Nice selection of curry , mix grill . Also vegetarian options available. Big dining space and cosy bar. Recommend

The Vine was one of the original grills and I have been going for over 15 years. Consistently good and kept it's good value too. Would highly recommend.

Decor was light and airy giving an extra mood boost, could not see an entrance for disability as there were steps outside the pub, bar staff very friendly and accommodating. Food, we had the paneer makani delicious! Not spicy nor sweet, boneless mix grill absolutely amazing! Meat was tender with the right amount of spice accompanied by fresh cut salad. Garlic naan and keema naan was to die for soft in the middle and chewy great flavours, will definitely be back again!

Foods OK but very expensive no football on TV for match days beers expensive don't even think the plastic glasses are pint glasses

Please say if this is an away pub or not…very disappointed to travel all the way here to not be let in. Bouncer was very unclear and wouldn’t even let the women in our group to use the loo on IWD on all days… Awful experience

Food bland and very expensive compared to nearby desi pubs. Owner very miserable and grumpy!

I thought it was expensive and glass of Coke was £2,99 food expensive also had to pay extra for the dips if you want them with poppadoms for a meal for one korma rice and naan and. Coke it was £20.80 for one person food ok nothing special I wouldn't return at them prices

Wow - such a flavour explosion Seriously amazing food We had the clay pot , freshly made nan and pillau rice and the mixed grill Medium So much food and loved every bite

We went a Sunday evening. It was not too busy, staff were friendly and we ordered a mixed grill which seemed average. Will go back to properly try a curry.

Happy to take away fans money, but do anything but sit in silence in the corner and they threaten to kick you out. Just declare yourself a home pub and we can spend our money elsewhere.

The food is amazing , I can't fault this place , even though I don't live nearby , my daughter and her dad get me a curry after the home games as the currys in staffordshire do not compare . All I can say is open one over in staffordshire .

Food way too spicy and mixed grill was burnt more then chared, been wanting visit for years after hearing lots of good stories, safe to say we will not be visiting for the mixed grill or chicken tikka again as it was too hot for us, the selection of beers on pull was very good though and the staff were very helpful and friendly

Always enjoy going to the vine and their food . However prices have really gone up over the years and portions smaller . So not a pub with Indian food more priced similar to a restaurant. However you do need to try if you've not been before . We are still trying to find a similar style venue as good ...

Quirky and stylish pub ideal for a night out where you can talk, drink, eat and hear each other without having to shout, especially on a friday night. Cordial atmosphere and has car park at the back with lots of o. street parking alongside the pub. Great tasting food with friendly staff. Clean and neatly set up with private little alcoves for each set of people to sit in and socialise. Definately would recommend and revisit.

Thought to give it a go, But not on same level as other grills around the area. Served on a plate. Expected it to be sizzling but just warm and very dry the meat.

I was only expecting a pub as that's what it looked like from the outside. Walked through to the back room and it seemed to go on forever. The place was booming with people, the atmosphere was great and the food that they were cooking fresh in the middle of the room for everyone to see looked amazing.

Met up with friends to enjoy good food and company. The company was brilliant and the food was excellent. All served quickly, but tasted super fresh and boy were the portion sizes large. We particularly enjoyed the large mixed grill and the garlic - chilli chips! We will be back again!

Was my favorite go to desi but so many new alternatives, great tasting food but drinks expensive, curry serving bowls shrunk,Nan's warm and shrunk, why change something that wasn't broke..???

Excellent curry - close to tram, good beer.

BBQ food was decent as was goat curry. Service a bit disappointing. Had to ask for plates and then when mains come the plates are not cleared. It was not a busy night.

I am lucky as this is my local. The food is great and I love the classic pub feelings.

Refuse service due to ethnicity

Popped in for a quick work Christmas lunch, group of around 25. Table was ready on arrival and the staff were great. Food served very quickly and it was fresh and tasty. Good selection of both food and drinks.

The first Desi curry and grill pub I went to, over 20 years ago. Affectionately referred to by more local colleagues as Suki’s. One of the OG’s and a must visit for all those that love a curry or a grill in a pub setting.

There is a reason why there is so many high score reviews.

All staff were really friendly and helpful, place is clean and has a great atmosphere. Food was amazing - probably the best I've had in a long time

A real hidden gem. The pub is deceptively big inside. There is plenty of seating to the rear of the building and a lovely large beer garden. The food is spicy and well cooked.

Great away pub for fans going to see their team West Brom.

The curries are SO good! I think this was our third visit for food and continues to deliver lovely food. Ordering via app with table delivery this time worked well - you can still order at the bar if you prefer.

Very disappointed my food order was 'lost' even when ordered on their app. Place is built for large numbers and normally excellent in every area

Good food and service (atmosphere due to early time of day). Sadly, no longer great value for money as it once was but still a relatively unique food experience.

Both a mixt grill for takeaway, it was so 🔥 and spicy, i had to bin it. Never again....

Stopped by The Vine at 14:00 today with my son, and we had a fantastic mixed grill experience. Tender flavorful meats cooked to perfection. Friendly service, highly recommended.

Amazing !!! The food was devine, fresh & simply delicious . Went with my husband & 2 children of 12 & 15 yrs old & we were all really impressed by our meal. The portions were very generous, we all managed to be very full & bring home a doggy bag lol. The service was exceptional from all but especially Bharat & Ruth who looked after us Thankyou. We will definitely be returning & recommending The Vine to friends & family!!

Came here for lunch and a few beers before the WBA match. Friendly staff and excellent quality beers. Very good lamb shish and chicken tikka served with salad and Naan bread. Very busy before and after the match. Will revisit definetly

Food was out in less than 5 minutes so not cooked fresh & no baby change. What’s the point in having high chairs but no facilities to change nappies? When I asked bar staff if there’s a baby change, barmaid said no but to change in women’s toilet forcing me to change my little one crouched down on the floor in a toilet cubicle.

Exceptionally spicy food. I haven't been here for a long time and now know why. The food is really, really spicy. I like spicy food but this was too much. As a large group, most of us were unable to finish our food.

Used to be our Go to desi ,something has changed,my madras tilkka curry has changed taste(nowt to do with chillies)got expensive ,and Nan used to be fresh and huge tear shaped now like a warmed up roti, Shame...😟especially with the competition Now..!!

I'm in the area for only a short period and i discovered this venue accidentally while searching for a good curry house where i could also get a beer. Since this discovery i have used the venue 4 times, within the same week. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. I like to have a good selection of beers as i often like to change what i drink and the Vine has plenty to choose from. Its in a very odd location and from the outside looks like a simple pub, but once entering you realize it is huge and the menu is fantastic. Its a little pricey but when you can confidently say that you can order anything on the menu and you will not be disappointed, you cant really complain about the price. Also the food will arrive in front of you, fresh and piping on hot before 10 minutes has passed you by. For the service and quality you consistently receive, ill pay those prices all day long.

We come here often after going to an Albion game for drinks and always have a good time. Tonight we met friends for food and drinks. We were a group of 7. 4 adults, 3 children. Got a table for 7 in the back room. Good atmosphere and enough space for all of our food and drinks! Nice pint of cobra. We ordered: Poppadoms 2 x chicken tikka wraps Mixed wrap Masala Tikka Garlic Tikka Chips Chilli chips Masala chips Mushroom rice Fried rice Lamb Claypot Chicken Nuggets Naan Curry sauce All food was good. I just wish they had a children menu as the portion size for my 6 year old is just too big and a lot of it was wasted. We had a lovely evening and would eat here again. Busy throughout the evening and a popular bar and grill in the west bromwich area.

A must do if you are in the area! The best Indian BBQ around!

Went here last night with a couple of meat eaters. They enjoyed the mixed grill and I the masala chips. Unfortunately the soya tikka was dry and tasteless. I didn't bring it to their attention as sometimes you can't be bothered. It wasn't great for this vegi.

Argyle on tour! After a tiring train and tram journey, this pub was our choice for pre match drinks. Strange rule, which meant we had to queue to get in, yet home fans were just let in without queuing!! Yet inside, everyone was mingling quite happy and friendly. It is a huge pub that is also an Indian restaurant and was serving various dishes to the delight of the punters. The Wye valley IPA was weak and not great, but the girls serving were excellent and worked like trojans to keep up with demand. Only 15 minutes from the ground and bizarrely in a rural setting surrounded by housing estates.

Best place for family get together and some gorgeous food 😋 Lovely atmosphere 👌 Everytime we visit it gets bigger inside. Definitely recommend a go 👍🏽 Mixed grill was amazing 😋 we shared a medium and had plenty to take home for seconds 😉👍🏽😆

The chilli chips were good but it was disappointing that the soya tikka wasn't fresh off the grill, it had been reheated. Expensive for what it is too.

Cracking pub for away fans at WBA, good food, friendly atmosphere and only 15-20 mins walk from the Hawthorns. We go there every visit. You can leave your car there during the game too, 7 quid to park but it's secure, first come though because it's not a big car park..

First time at The Vine,the mixed grill to share with your partner was superb.Special mention to Jesamine who served us with such politeness.

It has very great food. 👍 So authentic. I bet it has similar tasting food to The Glassy Junction in Wolverhampton.

Unfortunately this place is not what it used to be. We were please to see different mixed grills were now on the menu but they just aren’t the same as other places which is a shame (the lamb chops were good though). The tandoori naans were thin and burnt and went hard after 5mins (they used to be so nice and fluffy one upon a time). There are no baby changing facilities for mothers/fathers so they have no choice but to do it on the seating area in the restaurant. Lastly, we were celebrating a birthday and although we were allowed to bring the cake out (it was a small one!) we were not allowed to consume it. We were told it was fine by one person but then another said no! They had some rubbish about allergies. This is rubbish as they have an allergy note up by the bar. All restaurants I’ve been too allow birthday cakes to be served. This put a real dampner on the evening. I’ve been going to the Vine for around 32 years now, when it used to have plastic picnic tables tables and grill items were served on foam plates. Unfortunately, we won’t be going back now.

Went for a colleague's retirement lunch, had the lamb claypot curry. Curry was very tasty and just the right amount of spice, there was just a bit too much sauce with it.

Food was good but not as good as before when the original man was there. The food part closed really early not like before. Still decent place to eat though

I went to the Vine with a group of friends, we shared a few different dishes including the chicken tikka, garlic naan, lamb saag and chicken clay pot, couldn’t fault any of the food and the service is very good with friendly staff. A good sized beer garden with plenty of seating as well.

Take out work lunch, fantastic food, ready when I arrived and still hot when arrived back to the office 1 mile plus away. Friendly servers, ample parking.

Came here for 4pm, bang on opening time. Ordered the large mixed grill, Peshwari naan and chips. Everything was spot on. Incredible flavours, service, cleanliness. Decent price. Highly recommend.

If you enjoy a real old school BBQ This is the place to go. Traditional Indian food and bbq. Long running pub from the 80s from what I can remember. Nice family pub l. Friendly staff.

Food is great every time I eat here.

The original desi pub. It's not as busy as it used to be apart from match days of course. It's a shame that the vine could not keep that cheap and cheerful vibe. It's gone more up market and so have the prices. This combined with cost of living crisis means the vine has become a treat instead of where we would come for a cheap eat mid week. I still love the chicken tikka and spice on the methi chicken is next level. Best day to visit is the last Thursday of the month for the spit roast chicken.

A decent desi pub offering some great tandoori grills and curries. One of many good places to visit these days, but this is apparently one of the originals. Very easy to get to from Birmingham city centre on the tram, getting off at Kenrick Park. Jaipur ale was available on cask when we visited and it was in good condition.

If you're near Birmingham looking for a curry then try the vine! Amazing food in a lovely setting. A great selection of curries, sides and drinks. The mixed grill was unreal!

Great food well worth a visit gets very Busy on a match day

My lorry was broken down in Scania Keltruck on the other side of the M5 so I had a venture out to the bright lights of Las Brom and I stumbled across The Vine. So it was time for a treat! Lamb chilli curry and pilau rice for me!!! The family of four on the table next to me had wraps that were massive and Mum could not finish it. Anyway, sample the brown minty sauce, it's ace! Look at my other reviews to see where I've been!

wonderful atmosphere - friendly and attentive staff - seem to go over and above to be helpful. Great food and reasonably priced - whats not to like? Was also here for a stag last month - promised the wife to take her to see what the boys had been up to - she loves it too.

Been coming here for 30+ years...consistently good food, good value for money ..the original and by far the best desi pub in the area.....long may it continue 😀

Absolutely amazing place to eat.

Visited when the football was on. There is no noise dampening in the main areas so you lose your voice and hearing. Food is very very basic but freshly cooked. Staff do their best but the queues are literally out the door. Could do with someone just selling cans - it’s the pouring of pints that causes the hold ups.
