Been a while since the last review, but the mixys have been happening. Visited the smokehouse about 6 weeks ago The Indian smokehouse on reform street in West Brom. One of those old pubs that’s been converted to a desi grill. They’ve done a good job with the decor. Menu looked good so we popped down. Firstly the parking. It’s down the side of the smokehouse. Quite a few spaces if you can find one with all the lambos and Porsches on the carpark! Couple of the locals were stood in the doorway play fighting as we tried to get in which was annoying. We were given a booth at the back and the barmaid said we could open a tab which is great as normally it’s pay per round - more on that later. Restaurant seemed quite busy which is always a good sign. We went for the usual large mixed grill and boneless grill. Pakoras and chilli chicken, madras sauce, 3 naan breads - keema, chilli and garlic cheese, a chilli chips and finally a masala chips. The main mixy was sizzling as standard, the prawns were the best bit really crispy batter. Lots of meat on the mixy not just filling it up with tikka. Boneless grill, very similar to the main one, minus the wings and lamb. A good 7/10 for the mixys. The sides, no lollipop in this place so we settled for some chilli chicken, had a bit of a kick which was good. Big portion sizes as you can see. Naan breads - pretty OK keema stood out the others were pretty thin and not very tasty. When we went to settle up the bill for the drinks, we had spotted that there was 3 shots of whisky and some extra pints added on, it was rectified immediately but was a pain. Overall 6/10. A good mixy nothing outstanding that would make us go back. There’s so much competition in that space now you really need to have something out of this world to keep returning ie champys/ soho group and the next review…

Great place in the heart of west brom

This place is really cozy and very lovely the food and prices here are at good value. Good price for a good portion of food and can be a very lovely and cheap night out. Its very quick service on bar and food, maybe its because it wasn't too busy but we ordered food and it came within 10 minutes which was crazy and again with bar, we never had to queue. The staff here are very helpful, chatty and welcoming, bar member complimented me on my Disney tattoos and felt very happy. There could be more drinks choice here but happy to keep visiting!

Nice and clean place , separate booths for family, good menu for vegetarian and non vegetarian, quick service tasty food, and good selection of beers good place to visit It opens Monday to Thursday 2.0pm and Friday, Saturday and Sunday 12.0 noon

Had lunch, a grilled chicken tikka wrap, nasal fries... delicious and generous portion size. In addition, I picked up butter chicken for a takeaway....absolutely delicious with a distinct taste and full of flavour. Definitely recommended and would go back!!

Food was okay. Staff are the best. Your best assets and the reason we come. Can you not dilute the soap in the toilets please? And make sure soap is full? Thanks.

Really good food, massive portions! Atmosphere was lacking, and it was a bit dark during the day, I'd imagine the evening atmosphere is probably a lot better. Will definitely be revisiting.

First and foremost, the service is impeccable. Friendly, inviting, and warm staff make a visit always enjoyable. The food is fairly priced, tastes great, and is served very quickly.

We came for lunch on the way back from holiday. Visited as a family; 2 young kids. The food was extremely tasty. My husband had the kebabs which looked amazing (and he said they were - styled like burritos which was great). I had the paneer curry which was one of the best curries I’ve had. We got other extras too and all delicious. Staff very friendly and down to earth. Great outdoor seating area too. If we were local we would be back! Will visit if in the area again. Would definitely recommend. Great choice of lagers on draught too - Cobra, Madri and Peroni and a couple more. Really good value for money.

Really great place, nice relaxed atmosphere, food was excellent, particular mention for the fish pakora! I'm only here for one night and it's such a shame I'll probably have no need to come back to this area because I really liked this place. If ever I'm back in West Brom I'll definitely come again.

Visited with my husband and 2 kids (1 year old and 3 year old) en route back home from a holiday down south. Just drove around & went the first place that looked decent. Food was amazing. Staff really friendly. We had a table full of food & it was incredible. Can’t fault it. I’m not someone who is bothered too much about cleanliness but their toilets were pristine clean & smelt amazing when you walked in 😂 impressed! I’ve read a review further down who gave them 1 star (because I can’t understand how someone could rate the place 1 star) and had to read it out loud to my husband for a laugh. Who goes to a curry house and complains that their family’s Sunday dinners weren’t to their liking? Go to a bloody pub grub then! Seriously, why would you go to an Indian curry house and all order Sunday dinners then complain about it? Then they complained that they were playing r&b. I’m just gutted we didn’t experience the r&b atmosphere. So in conclusion, this was a great find and if we were local we would have visited again for sure! Definitely recommend.

I went there 2weeks before there with my family first time.the food was good I ordered papadam that was just like ages old very soft but I told to a staff lady who served us changed for us.but she looks soo rude till enter to till leave that place we never see any smile on her face for us.I think where we are sitting or eating specially, staffed need served with smile otherwise we going Tesco every week spending 100+ there staff always frustrated so no complaint.

I'm glad i changed my mind and came to this place, as soon as me and family walked through the door we could smell the food, service was wonderful the food was exceptional the place is clean and atmospheric, I will definitely come here again, i enjoyed my birthday here Wednesday 2nd august, and i like that they put my cheesecake in the fridge untill we was ready to eat so very kind this place defo deserves a tip thank you so much ladies and gents.

Came this afternoon at 12 with my partner and 2 children. The food was amazing , nice and clean inside, nice friendly staff also. Will definitely be going back and will tell friends and family about this place. Chicken madras was spot on!!

BAD customer service. My pregnant friend needed the toilet and the manager screamed in her face and said no. He told her to 'shut up and get out'. Disgusting 🫣 name and shame..do not go here.

It was the first time i went this resterant.due to it being late i needed the bathroom .i stopped off at resterant and thought i go in to use toilet.NEVER EVER GO THIS PLACE I WENT IN AS I DESPERATELY NEEDED THE TOILET.THE OWNER GAVE ME DIRTY LOOK AND TOLD ME TO GET OUT WITHOUT NO EXPLANATION. HE was rude and was very disrespectful and told me to leave.PLEASE DONT EAT THERE FOOD OR GO THERE.THE WORSE SERVICE I HAVE EVER had in my life of living in birmingham.THE OWNER told me to shut up and get out and would not allow me to use toilet.I have never in my life been mistreated by a business .

Really nice place to go to for good food. It's a hidden gem. Veg options are good. Only if they could expand the soya menu by offering soya in any curry style like korma, madras, saagwala and even wraps. If they can do it meat they should do it soya. It would become a even better and popular place

I am extremely sorry to say the food place is good, but I am very disappointed with the stuff we are having a meeting with my mates and I’ve been told more than twice to leave the place we are close. I think respect is a more important than food so I will recommend my friends and family. Don’t come to this place next time and I will request to the Main Boss. Please talk to your stuff and tell them to respect your customer otherwise you’re gonna lose a business step-by-step you will lose all your customers. I’m really sorry for the feedback I hope you understand the negative feedback is always good for the business. If you don’t look after your customer customer will not come to your place and you will lose your job and owner will lose the bussiness 🥵🥵🥵🥵🥵 must speak to your stuff and protect your business. Otherwise nobody is gonna look after your business and you will lose your pub. Respect is more important there is 1000s of place in Birmingham. There is 100s of place in West Bromwich. I am one of your regular customer but I am very disappointed this time and I felt so bad to live in this negative feedback. I hope you will talk to your staff and give them little bit more training and teach them how to treat the customers. I left my Coke in the middle 😥😓😭

Since opening this place has been delivering such quality food. I come here for most football matches and the mixed grill is one of the best I’ve tasted in the West Midlands! Highly recommend

We celebrated my daughters 18 th birthday yesterday. It was amazing . The service was extremely fantastic. The staff and owner were so friendly and helpful . The grill food was delicious and so fresh . My daughter and my guests were so impressed. I just want to say a massive Thank you to the owner who looked after us and delivered amazing service to our guests and the staff were hands on too . The sitting arrangements were sufficient for our guests and the cleanliness and washrooms were 10/10 . I defo will be attending here more and using this smokehouse for private parties . The curries and grill platters are defo to try and curries . 👍

We were here as a large group for my niece's 18th birthday. The food was amazing and the restaurant was delightfully decorated with modern amenities, immaculately clean too. The staff were very attentive and were able to serve 30 of us for food and drinks promptly and efficiently. The manager/owner was extremely friendly and accommodating too. I would highly recommend this gem to all. Not to forget, the chefs and back of house staff too for such a great experience.

Doing a tour of the grills in West Brom. This is now one of our favourites. Staff friendly and attentive and the place is a nice a chilled place to eat and drink. Prices are good too

I really like this place. Clean, laidback atmosphere, good wine, and TVs if you want to watch sport. Their mixed grills are really lovely. This time though, I was disappointed with their curry. However, I did order off menu. They did their best to accommodate me. My partner's curry was really nice. My sauce was meant to be the same, but wasn't as nice or as spicy. The king prawns didn't taste the freshest. I ate 3, left the rest. I eat a lot of prawns, and curry, and this just wasn't great. Was jealous of my partner's curry! I think this place is probably better for the grills, as that's what it is meant for afterall. Service was decent. But it would be helpful if staff could ask if you'd like more drinks whilst you're eating, so you don't have to leave food to go to the bar. Also, I don't think they asked us if everything was okay with our meal.. although since they tried to accommodate me, I would have felt bad saying anything, but those prawns weren't great. Sorry. I ate later on.

Me and my husband go here almost weekly on a weekday. Good veggie mixed grill, nice chips and curries. Always a good, consistent and quick service. Polite waitresses and a nice atmosphere/set-up- much nicer and cosier than an average grill/bar. Look forward to coming here again this week or next :)

Been driving past this place every Tuesday for about 6x months and finally gave it try, not disappointed one bit and has now become my go to place for indian food. Lamb curry full of flavour , King prawn curry full of flavour, mixed grill full of flavour and not burnt and came with nice fresh salad fish pakora nice and crispy and not greasy, Masala chip crispy and fresh and not greasy one bit, rice cooked perfect, popadoms nice and fresh, dips very nice too, and to top it all off excellent prices. Garlic and coriander nan was cooked to perfection. The drinks from the bar were nice and cold too. Ambiance was nice and warm and very relaxed, plentiful parking spaces. All in all 10/10

My first time visiting SmokeHouse was amazing. The decor is modern, and the food is high quality. Honestly, if you're in the area make sure you visit and order some of the amazing food. There is a large selection of alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks too. Definitely one of the top Indian eateries I've been to! Highly recommended!

Brilliant food .. really smoky flavour ... Do justice to their name ... We ordered paneer wrap , veg biryani , paneer chilly and we enjoyed it ... Most recommended place and we will definitely visit it again

Excellent vegi options - the vegi grill is great. Both the masala and chilli chips could be improved slightly though as the masala chips are a little bland and the chilli chips were slightly soggy but still great overall

Great service. Friendly attentive staff. Only ordered 2 starters but we were constantly attended to by 2v staff members. Great prices too. And the food is exceptional. Masala chips and fish pakora were super crisp and not greasy. Highly recommended. I can see people in previous reviews whining about it not being"family friendly". If you want to entertain your family, would probably recommend you go to Harvester instead. Can't fault this venue at all though. Great food, great drink.

Walked into this pub today after 12pm with my friends. Couldn’t see any staff around. Which is really bad. I was at the bar waiting to get served for ages. Definitely not coming here again. Food was ok not too pricey.
