Chips was nice curry sauce was diabolically bad so salty had to chuck it away it's a shame China kitchen next door do good curry sauce

I don't know how a place that was so good can go downhill so fast!!! I had a kebab wrap that only contained about 5 strips of kebab meat mostly sauce. My partner ordered kebab meat and chips and recieved a tiny amount of kebab meat on brown chips!! Worst meal ever!!

I haven't been to this place for 5 years until today and I wasn't disappointed everything was perfectly cooked and plenty of it the fish had a light batter cooked perfectly and not soggy like most fish and chip shop now taking about chip they are perfectly cooked just the way I like them crispy on the out side and soft in the inside world recommend and definitely return for more great fish and chips we'll done the village plaice team keep cooking great food for Thatcham.

I’ve lived in Thatcham over 30 years and I can honestly say that since this shop went under new ownership it is by far the best fry in thatcham. Quality and taste exceptional.

Chicken wrap was fresh and juicy. Portion size was also great. Recommendation- Would be great if wraps are bundled with lettuce, tomatoes and onion. Solid four, won’t be disappointed

When I ask for no legs I expect no legs, counter boy always less than helpful and has no people skills, not to return,

We regularly have our fish and chips from this shop, food is always excellent and very quick to be prepared and cooked. Staff are always friendly and have smiles on their faces even when rushed off their feet! If you can order ahead, I recommend doing so as they can become very busy at peak times! In summary an excellent local fish, chip and extras shop!

Found the cod bit very greasy and cold. Chip where old, dry and cold. Very disappointed as have had a better quality of food from there before.

Staff are friendly and food are served hot. Been here many times and never get disappointed. 👍

We have found this to be the best chip shop in Thatcham. The chips are cooked perfectly (I don’t like them too crispy) and the curry sauce is lovely. I always have a fish cake and these have always been good. The portions are also really generous for what you pay for them. The staff are cheerful and friendly and they have a good waiting system. It seems clean in there so all in all I would definitely recommend it!

Missing a burger, ordered 3 pieces of chicken was expecting a drum stick, thigh and breast got 3 drum sticks very disappointed alround

The last 3 times we have ordered the food is cold we live 5 minutes away, there's always something missing. When you call them they say sorry but tell you to fo on the app to get deliveroo to go & collect what missing they can't deliver very apologetic YOU NEED TO SORT IT OR LOSE TRADE WE WONT BE BACK

This place never gives you your whole order, every single time we get food here something is missing from the order, tonight 3 items missing, if I were you I’d go somewhere else, absolutely disgusting 😡😡

Will never eat again from this place again! I cant even describe how bad the kebab meat was! Just shocking food

First visit and last visit. 40 minute wait for a donor kebab is just ridiculous. They seem to prioritise delivery drivers as I saw so many come, have their order prepared instantly, and leave. They started my order after 30 minutes of waiting and only then realised they had to put a new donor on. Maybe that could have been considered when the order was initially placed?!

Chips were overcooked, curry sauce was thin and the fish, whilst it looked good, was subpar with the batter being soft and chewy. Won't order again.

My Son bought 5 medium cod & chips at just over£32. My fish was well over done and had a smell & chips were awful. My wife found a hair in her fish so Not Happy had to give to the dog!!!

Absolutely delicious, freshly cooked, hot temperature and very yummy

Very friendly staff and they like to have a laugh, great chicken (Only thing I have ordered so far). Very polite and also strict on only 1 person allowed in at a time. (Again very polite about asking) Ended up visiting two days in a row. Good range on menu and very hot and fresh food.

Lovely food cheese on the cheesy chips was a bit too creamy for me but otherwise lovely

Great service, the best chips in Thatcham, we moved to Thatcham 4 years ago and we tried all the chip shops and found these the best, the staff are always friendly and polite, I would highly recommend. 100% keep up the good work. 👍

Worst meal ever my son had the large kebab chewey meat three pieces of meat I had the southern fried chicken horrible in dry so much nealey choked chips dry and cold worst ever meal don't waste your money worst meal I have ever had

If I could give 0 I would. Ordered a kebab via deliveroo when it arrived there was roughly 5 pieces of kebab meat in a sad looking pita - this cost £5.80. When I called they tried claiming that they get no money and it all goes to deliveroo I then asked how they make their money ,if that was case ,and they said they didn’t. They were rude and had very poor customer service. I will definitely not order from them again!

Pretty good chip shop. The chips were really good, the cod was fine, as was the haddock. Busy on the Thursday evening so about a 20 minute delay. Location has plenty of parking, so no problem parking. Would we go again ... Yes

Rude, argumentative service following a polite question. Followed by poor quality food that made our family feel ill. Highly dissapointed in the staff, quality of service & hygiene levels. Would not recommend!

Food was poor,chips were cold,burger wasn't cooked properly pink in the middle, asked without onion and sausage and they put them in it and did say didn't want salt or vinger on chips also chips were soggy. And they put it on there.. 1st visit wouldn't go there again.

Poor service, poor food. Wanted kebab meat on its own. No can’t have that, have to buy it as a package with chips or something else. Ok so I will have it with chips but please can I keep it separate? Again NO. Why not? Was told that he has to put it in separate boxes and they charge for the boxes. I asked, so how much for a box? 10p. Ok I’ll do that then. He then proceeds to put the chips in a box and then wrap the box in chip paper! Really! In this day and age considering the environment, was this all really necessary? Not impressed, food was dried up too. 1st visit, won’t be returning.

Decent local chippy. Recently refurbished as well and now has seating inside. They also do kids milkshakes as well. Often busy, so there is usually a wait but good access and parking. You know it’s a good chippy when... you move to the other side of Thatcham and still go back past all the others!

The daily deals are superb. Highly recommended.

Really cant recommend enough! Best around! Definately customers for life! And love the fact it all comes in pizza style boxes and no bags that make it sweat! Everything so fresh and tasty! Try it! You wont regret it!

Since taking over the local chippy, these guys have done a fantastic job. The fish is excellent and I mean excellent. The batter is lovely and crispy and the fish is nice and flaky. I can't personally comment on the rest of the menu but my family say it's all good.
