The Village Inn in Fareham

Just eaten an amazing meal here, I had the sea bass on a bed of sweet potato and chickpea curry, just wonderful. For dessert, I had crème brûlée which was the best I’ve had in a long time, the crisp caramelised top was perfect. I shared a bottle of Bijou as recommended by the really friendly and knowledgeable staff. Jazz was so helpful and friendly, just what you need with the vast choice on offer for food and drink. I will come back again and again.

Fantastic family spot for food and drinks. Staff are brilliant Cannot fault the food spot on every time. Great prices. The app is handy for loyalty points to get freebies. Can’t wait for my next visit

Just visited the Village Inn with my friend, and I can't praise the staff and food enough! I had the sea bass on a bed of sweet potato and chickpea curry—absolutely divine. For dessert, I went for the sticky toffee pudding with ice cream, and it was pure heaven. Our waitress, Jazz, was fantastic—friendly, professional, and really knowledgeable. The wine list was extensive, and we shared a bottle of Bijou, which was delicious. All in all, a fabulous experience—on par with a top restaurant. Highly recommend!

This was our first visit. Generally everything was fine. Decent menu variety. Food was fresh, nicely presented and tasty. The only real downside, given the time of year, was the room temperature. Thermostat needed to be turned up a couple of notches...it really wasn't very warm!.

Book a table had to queue at bar to find our table there was a 40 min wait so didn't bother to stay as would have to queue again when we decided what to eat

Love this place, my absolute favourite for all events. Staff are fab, foods great, good prices and plenty of parking. 😁

My husband and I came for Christmas lunch with our friend on Christmas Day. It was a wonderful experience. The atmosphere in the place was lovely. The staff were happy and helpful. It was the best Christmas Day dinner we’d ever had. Really appreciated the attention to detail. The little things, like a Christmas card on the table for us. The place was decorated beautifully. Friendly pub with decent food at fair prices. Good selection of beer, cider and spirits. Nice atmosphere. Worth a visit or even several visits for sure. Remember to enter your registration at the bar for parking.

Came in tonight for the live music and some food, it was a brilliant atmosphere with people dancing and singing. The food was delicious and the service was very professional and quick. Thank you Olivia, Anya, Matt, Liam and Lauren and Nathaniel in the kitchen! We will definitely be back!

Came here today 7/12 for Christmas lunch with 2 friends,food was delicious,served hot,quick service by friendly staff,really good price as well,will definitely go again.

Food was ok. Atmosphere was ok. Service was the issue. Plates were left too long to be collected. The end of the evening, bill was not asked for however it appeared on the table by Matt. No deposit removed. Our annual get together was ruined by the implication that “they needed the bills paid” there was a tab so we would not do a runner! Pub/food area was not due to shut… why the rush??

Vastly improved from the period before the pandemic . Good range of meals at a sensible price - particularly the set lunchtime options - and now have some vegan choices too. Not the huge range of real ales from the distant past, but still able to buy a decent pint - especially Mondays and Thursdays at £2.99 per pint! Friendly staff, too. November update:Just had a great lunch there today, and tried the mixed grill - it was amazing! I wasn't expecting to be given so much good quality and well cooked meat! Have never had a better mixed grill anywhere! November 2024 - beers now more expensive, but still discounted on Mondays and Thursdays. Menu has been changed, but still offering an excellent choice and decent value.

I came here for my birthday lunch and we were very happy. The food was amazing and very good value for money. We were sat next to the fire and it was so lovely and cosy. Also the staff were lovely and the lady who was bringing our food over was so amazing! I don't know her name but please do let her know that she was great. We will definitely be returning.

The manager was very welcoming and chatty. I had a Guinness which is always well poured and the bacon cheeseburger which was very tasty (compliments to the kitchen staff) Always a pleasure coming to the Village inn

Please get the basics right and let the Guinness settle properly. Lad had no reason to rush it mid afternoon.

Great evening yesterday. Food from the 3 course menu was nice and good value for money. Nat the bar lady was really helpful, funny and a credit to the venue.

Was a Monday evening so quiet, but clean and well done out...,just been Thursday evening busy but good service and food hot.

Love the refurbishment long overdue it looks fantastic now however I wish the food lived up to it the mains are great but they seem to fail on some of the smaller bites (not the end of the world) This won't stop me returning nor should stop anyone else. the drinks flow like we'll drinks and the atmosphere is is very inviting and warm

Came in on a Friday afternoon for the special offer on two courses (also a three course offer is available). Good value, friendly staff, and very clean toilets too. Soft drinks are a bit expensive but that is common to many public houses.

This is the Jekyll & Hyde. Not village inn . Popped in here Saturday for some lunch. I cover 30 - 50 Hotels Restaurants pubs in my work. The food here had a Greek vibe to it. As Manager Christopher was an excellent host. Very polite & friendly. Plus good knowledge on Greek food. Excellent pub food. Highly recommended.

The pub in nice inside. The garden furniture is dirty, broken and there wasn't one parasol for shade on the really hot days.

Popped in for a pint after long trek early afternoon, great beer but spoilt by a parking fine I have just received. Never expected to pay for parking in a pub this is a first for me, very disappointed. Neither of us noticed any sign about this and nothing at the bar. I noticed I am not the only one who has had a parking fine.

Come here as family of 4 with two kids. We are regular visitors as the staff here are amazing and always make us feel very welcome. Great food and drink at very good prices. Dog friendly.

This has become our go to pub for a drink and something to eat, not only are the staff friendly, the pub is extremely clean & tidy and the food is great. It’s also made better with the embers inn app giving you rewards when you spend! Since the refurbishment in the first quarter of the year, it’s even better, Liam the manager has really made this a great pub to come too. Highly recommend!

Friday night and a busy pub, but despite that service was great. We were told that the kitchen was busy and it could be 45 minutes before we got our food, but it appeared maybe 20 minutes later, all 5 people served at the same time. And it was very good. We're not familiar with Ember Inns, so for us the menu was, refreshingly, a little different to most of the other chain pub restaurants. We will definitely visit again.

Nice place especially in the summer to sit in the garden!! Been updated recently and much better for it.

This is our local pub and attend quite often with our young children, they love all the staff and can’t wait to see matt and anya. we have never had a bad meal and just love the friendly family atmosphere

It was nice enough out in the sunshine for a mid week girlie luncheon. Quite garden in comfortable seating. We decided against the usual pub bench seating. Food was OK, not the hottest ever, but tasty and reasonable size portions for lunch. Staff were friendly and helpful. I'd go again having avoided it for circa 20yrs

Was there for some leaving drinks. They have plenty of room and a good selection of drinks. Didn't eat there but people were and the food looked and smell nice. Well worth popping in for some drinks.

Great pub, good food and service

We booked last minute on a Sunday evening. The friendly chap that answered the phone was very attentive. Considering it was late in the evening, the roast dinner was still suberb. Everything piping hot and the veg seemed to be cooked fresh. Can't wait to return.

Popped in for a good value meal but a couple of weeks later I was handed a £60/100 parking fine for using their carpark.

Matt & Jess were excellent they made sure we were ok and everything was fine very attentive. The food , service was excellent the place was extremely clean &tidy .

Staff are great and friendly and even when under pressure they can’t do too much for you.

A small group staying in the area overnight. We had a couple of drinks. Nice bar, good atmosphere. Might of had some other ale if available. Would go back.
