Food is fine, service is very slow but friendly (the staff always comment they are under staffed but this is strangely always when I go). The owners state that they they do not accept cash (how can this still be allowed post Covid?) but if you try add to add a tip to your bill, the waiter/waitress tells a story that it needs to be cash or otherwise they have to share it with the kitchen staff etc. Incredible it may seem but this has happened three times to me. I only go there as my wife’s aunt likes the view.

Amazing venue, and local treasure. Beautiful views, the best atmosphere, lovely friendly staff, great menu and food. The NYE parties are the highlight of our year, and we wouldn't consider going anywhere else. Can't wait for the rebuild and to come back for dinner, the view, the sunsets and the parties. Just wish it could be in time for my partner's 65th birthday next year, so we could have hired it out for the night! (Ps. Will always be grateful to the staff member and manager, for letting me have a ticket for NYE 22, when it was sold out, as I managed to arrange a last minute shift swap just so I could attend!) You have all the support of the local community.

Amazing pub with stunning views, and lovely staff, and excellent food. PLEASE REBUILD. This is one of the few assets to the area, and somewhere for locals and visitors to have a lovely meal and drink. The NYE party is the one thing we had planned every year, great music, atmosphere and buffet. Will miss that view, until it is rebuilt and opens again. I the meantime, for summer get a temp building you can serve drinks from in the garden during summer.

Burger was dry fish pie only contained a very small amount of fish but a lot of potato, asked for no cabbage with fish pie but came out with cabbage sent it back asked for double portion of peas but only got onesmall portion. None of us had dessert cos what we ordered they had run out of. Pretty poor overall. Had been a few times before but not again.

Appalling- We booked a table for 4 for breakfast on Sunday 4th Feruary 2024. On arrival we were shown to our table promptly. We selected our meals and drinks and returned to the bar to order and pay. We had to return to the bar after 15 minutes to find out where 1/2 of our order of drinks were, they had clearly been forgotten, this was sorted out promptly. Breakfasts arrived 2 of which were stone cold and one with a hair in it too. Quiet word with the service staff and both were replaced. Unfortunately none of the food eventually delivered was of a quality I would expect. Christie the on shift manager adjusted the bill and was very apologetic. Overall appalling food and we will not eat here again...good views though.

Lunch with our elderly relative. Whilst we were grateful to be given the chance to have a meal after chance walk in, we were informed that we would need to vacate the table in an hour and fifteen. Fine we thought, ordered immediately and my husband got our drinks. We waited and waited and after 45 minutes were concerned that indeed we would run out of time to eat our meal (actually two sharer plates) between the 3 of us. After some chasing the food did arrive. Why it took quite so long I couldn’t say, the food itself wasn’t brilliant, but edible. So, the time came for the staff to come to our table and ask us to leave - well we were barely half way through our food, so I suggested they allow us to finish our food or refund us. I have NEVER been asked to leave a table whilst eating. I would therefore like to warn those thinking of coming to this establishment, allow plenty of time for your meal as the food could take some time to arrive. The view from the table however was amazing, but not impressed that our 90 year old relative was even asked to leave in such a manner. Very disappointing indeed!

We had a family birthday meal in the osbourne view today, 5 adults and 2 little ones. We were given a nice table looking out over the solent nestled with a number of other families around 13:00. Drinks and mains orders were taken quickly. Time ticks by and around an hour later the mains arrive, by which time we were all starving. The food was nice and quickly devoured and plates collected. The other families thin out and these are replaced by people with dogs which didn't appear to be advertised, so beware of this if you're taking little one in and not all dogs are well behaved. We're then looking forward to deserts and the menus arrive, we've all decided and await the server to return. Finally they arrive and our desert order is placed, and time ticks by until 40 minutes have ellasped for ice cream and cake to emerge, by this time everyone is looking to eat their desert, pay up and leave. The bill is requested and finally the card machine arrives and we can pay and leave. So all in all 2 and a half hours for main and desert, service was incredibly poor as one server was stretched very thin during the lunchtime rush. All in all a poor experience for a birthday meal so not returning any time soon.

The meals were lovely and well presented. However, the service was very questionable. The sever we first had was lovely and helpful. The other one we had was less than helpful as it took ages to get the bill to us. It also took a very long time for them to get the food to us, I think it look about an hour to get the pudding to us. I also have an issue with dogs being allowed in places that serve food. I don't think it's very hygienic, and also I noticed that anyone who had children with them were also put out into a separate area as well, which I don't think is fair. Another thing was that there are food options that are vegan, but further down the menu at the bottom in very small writing, it says that it might not be good for people who have milk allergies like myself. This was as a birthday meal for myself, and all I can say is I was disappointed in the whole experience and will not be returning

Went for a roast. Had 3 different roasts, 1x nut roast, 1x pork, and 1x beef. To get it out of the way, the beef was sadly tough. It had clearly been cooked to medium rare, but possibly because of we had later lunch and it potentially had been jept warm, it was tough. Positives, everything was fresh cookedThe nut roast was a huge portion, and the pork came with crackling. The Yorkshire were amazing and definitely not from frozen. The other 2 lunches were tasty and delicious. Good presentation. Sides were red cabbage and peas with leeks. We had pigs in blankets and cauliflower cheese as extra sides. The service was excellent and quick. Our waiter was personable and helpful and made sure to check if any of us had dietary restrictions. Terrible experience. Have visited a few times now and I thought I would wait to write a review incase it’s just a bad day for the restaurant. The customer service is absolutely appalling, the waiters do not care. All of them walk around with frowning faces and there’s no politeness at all. Food is well below average and is not worth the prices which the Osbourne View charge. Today I ordered a pizza, which was precut but not properly. Was not offered any utensils or anything to go with the meal. Asked for some lemon oil to go with my pizza, never received it in the 2 hours I was there. On my visit last week, we were brought out food but no cutlery ‘because they ran out’, we waited 14 mins for cutlery and the waiter which has it spoke and giggled to another staff member whist right next to us before handing it over. The only good thing about this place is the garden. Nothing else. I don’t want to overly criticise and be writing a negative review but it’s not worth visiting. Poor food, terrible customer service, not accommodating, overpriced, just a nice location. The staff need some serious training.

Having eaten earlier in the year here in the garden we revisited yesterday. A glorious day to sit under a shade by the beach. Unfortunately for us they had changed the bar menu so it was less interesting than before. No prawns or whitebait for example . Whitebait was on offer indoors but oddly you cannot order from downstairs. My wife went for the cod goujons off the kiddie's menu snd to be honest a decent portion came out, golden brown goujons with perfectly cooked chips. Myself having narrowly missed ordering the 'salt beef' sandwich (which was plant based I eventually realised), I opted for the burger instead. A decent burger, oozing with burger sauce with extra in a gravy boat. Now this is where the problem lay, the tasty burger was impossible to eat as one should by hand. The whole sorry thing collapsed into a gooey pile with sauce everywhere. It was a mess and I was finding sauce on me even after we left. Does chef not trial run his own creations? The bun was completely unsuitable to contain the stack inside. A disaster which wasn't improved by the nose picking gentleman sat next us.

I have been to The Osborne View several times for Sunday Lunch, other lunches, and impromptu fish and chips in the beer garden at beach level. The meals and beers have always been good. Sadly, not this time. When some friends from the USA wanted to eat out with us on the evening of 29 August, I booked a table for dinner. There was a good buzz, we were well received and were shown to our table. Our server was very friendly, but obviously still learning. Our drinks came, as ordered. Shortly thereafter our starters arrived. We hadn’t had time to have more than a mouthful or two of our starters before the main course was served. Then we discovered that one serving was incorrectly registered by our server. One of us had to wait while the correct dish was prepared and served. In the meantime, one of our party had had time to taste the crispy chicken and bacon salad. The salad was a bit haphazard and not as fresh as it might have been. The bacon was great but the chicken less so. The chicken was overwhelmed by the batter to the extent that the chicken could hardly be tasted. Our server was as helpful as he could be, and the manager took a bit of persuading to void the incorrect meal from our bill. It was a disappointing evening and embarrassing for me as the one who had suggested the venue. Hopefully lessons have been learned. I will give them another chance at a later date.

Please get the basics right and let the Guinness settle properly. Lad had no reason to rush it mid afternoon.

Popped in for a light bite. The staff were warm and welcoming. The vegetable soup was thick and comforting with the most delicious croutons. The bacon, brie & cranberry sandwich went down a treat.

Expensive for what is clearly budget supplied food for a standard breakfast. For £1.50 more you could have their top meal treble most items but too much to eat. I had finished my breakfast and went to the toilet leaving my cup of tea to be finished on my return and my coat still on the chair. On my return the table had been cleared by a rude waitress. To be fair, the proprietor did offer me a replacement tea but it shouldn't have happened in the first place being so eager to clear an obviously occupied table. It is a typical roadside caff but expensive and rude service.

Have driven past many times and decided that we must give this place a go. Wish we hadn't bothered! The menu is quite limited and what makes it even worse is that both of us have issues with peppers - capsicum and chilli . Only one thing on the menu that I liked and didn't have some form of pepper in it. On the upside hubby had a burger that he really enjoyed but apart from that, considering that the venue is overlooking the creek with an abundance of swans, the food is a complete let-down. Won't bother going back as there are plenty of other venues in the area with more extensive menu's that don't seem to be dependent on peppers!!

Absolutely 10/10 service if I could give more stars I would! We’ve came from a long and tiring 36 hour journey with 3 dogs and a cat and luckily found a hotel that would take us all on a Friday night and be as amazing as it was! Especially with pets this hotel is perfect, the staff are so friendly and helpful and we didn't hear any noise from the pub downstairs! The rooms are nice and big with easy opening windows, a kettle and complimentary orange juice! Extremely professional and homely at the same time would definitely recommend!
